This cute apartment is centrally located 1 block from Missoula's river-front trails, 3 blocks from downtown & the University of Montana campus, convenient to the I-90 interstate exchange, and within an easy walk to Missoula's best coffee shops, restaurants, theaters, and music venues.

We like that we don't have to drive to hike - our neighborhood is at the confluence of the North Hills, Clark Fork River, Crazy Canyon, Mount Sentinel, and Mount Jumbo trail systems - or to fish - we're just off the confluence of Rattlesnake Creek and the Clark Fork River where the native cutthroat congregate. We are an easy walk over either of the two pedestrian footbridges, a short river stroll to happy hour or concerts at the Top Hat & Wilma, and a (too!) close for a cone of ice cream at either Big Dipper or Sweet Peaks. This location also boasts spectacular views of Mount Jumbo, Mount Sentinel, and the Hellgate Canyon.

This apartment is part of a duplex - we live upstairs and are available for advice about what to do and where to go. If you decide to book this property, you will enter through the main door that leads to a small entry way. Our door is on the left and yours is on the right. This keeps it easy should you have any questions or concerns.

For an authentic Montana experience, consider the Lazy Trout! It's a cozy, comfortable little house which sits on one acre about 7 miles out of Lolo, Montana. Lolo Creek runs through the middle of the property, which is just a few feet out the back door. It provides a great view, memorable moments and quality entertainment

The house is furnished nicely and well stocked with plenty of kitchen utensils and pots and pans. The living room has a nice view of the water and a big screen tv with Dish Satelite, dvd/cd player, amp and speakers. There is a comfy king bed in the master overlooking the creek and a nice queen log bed in the 2nd bedroom.

Being 7 miles into the mountains from Lolo, there is limited cell service, but internet is available. Traveler’s Rest Country store or Roper’s Bar & Casino is just 3 minutes down the road should you need any solid cell and WiFi along with convenient store items.

Downstream ten minutes away is the Lolo Steakhouse, Lolo Creek Distillery, Lolo Brewery and Traveler’s Rest State Park and Interpretive Center, where Lewis & Clark camped out. Or journey up south to see what all Stevi, Hamilton and the Bitterroot River have to offer. The Blackfoot and Clark Fork Rivers are close and Rock Creek, the world famous blue ribbon trout stream is only 20 miles east down I90 from Missoula.

The fishing here and around Missoula is very good in season (the 3rd Saturday in May thru Nov 30) for native cuts, rainbows, brookies and brown trout. Spring and fall are prime. On and near the property are nice stretches of water to fish, up and downstream. There is a nice spot which eddies out back of the house, perfect fishing for all ages. If the fish aren’t biting, it works great as a swimming hole to cool off in, or just sit around the fire pit and Lazy Trout Bar & Grill and listen to the creek go by.

Upstream is another world famous (Lumber)Jack Saloon, just 12 minutes away into the mountains, or enjoy a horseback trail ride or a soak at Lolo Hot springs- less than a half hour up the road. There’s also two other natural hot springs nearby-Jerry Johnson and Wier. Google them, they’re extraordinary. Just over the pass, the Lochsa River offers salmon and steelhead fishing and serious whitewater rafting.

This area is not only fishes, but hunt’s very well. Plenty of big game, turkeys, grouse and then some. We’re also close to major snowmobile trails and cross country ski areas, and there are plenty of logging roads and trailheads for hiking and biking.

So c’mon out to the Lazy Trout! A great place to relax with friends or family, or use as a base camp for further exploration of the Missoula, The Lewis and Clark Trail, or the Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness.

We are in a great location for all seasons with convenient highway access, and just 14 miles from Missoula. Southern exposure means plenty of sun, with room for campers and a small trailer or two. Events considered.

Perched along Ninemile Creek on 20 wooded acres with majestic views, this completely renovated and cozy two bedroom, two bath water front cabin is the ultimate relaxing Montana vacation that is great for couples, small families or a friends get-a-way.
Take the spiral-staircase to the second floor master suite which boasts a comfortable cloud-like king size mattress, large walk-in closet, full size bathroom with dual vanity and a two-person shower. Private deck, lounge chairs and shade. Throw open the windows and let the babbling waters lull you to sleep.
The guest bedroom (located on the main floor) has a queen-size bed, pillow top mattress, down comforter and feather pillows. Guests will use the charming main floor bath featuring natural slate tile floors, shower/tub combo, pedestal sink and fluffy towels. Each of the cabin bathrooms has a hair dryer, hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the main floor. The living area is tastefully decorated with rustic cabin décor where you can lounge on the comfortable leather sofa while relaxing in front of the wood burning fireplace. If you require digital entertainment, each bedroom and the living room are equipped with a TV and satellite receiver. DVD/Blu-ray in Living room. Bose speaker for iPod or other music player. - "As a U of M alumni, my college roommate and our spouses decided to meet up outside of Missoula to celebrate 40 years of friendship. The stay at the house was perfect for the 4 of us and our dogs. We spent 90% of our time on the wonderful deck. The dogs played in the creek and ran around on the lawn space. We have used VRBO a lot over the past years and this property was by far the best stocked. If you like to cook, there isn't anything you will be missing at this home! The AC units worked fantastically in the 90+ heat and sleeping in both bedrooms was terrific. They even have a separate deep freezer outside for ice and items that won't fit in the inside freezer. Really nice to have! Perfect location and perfect stay. Our host was very available with questions right up to arrival. We had no reason to contact her once we arrived as her instructions were very well done. One thing to note-the road starting about 2 miles from the house is narrow so if you aren't used to MT mountain roads, you should be aware. Definitely passable with a car but we were both happy we had trucks/SUVs. In the winter, I think 4 wheel drive would be a must. But that is what you would expect to get a place that is extremely peaceful and quiet up in the mountains."

Many local museums and state parks will guide you on your quest to learn more. We are 10 minutes from the 2800 acre Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge. Recreational opportunities are plentiful including hiking, walking, fishing, swimming, hunting, horseback riding, photography, astronomy, birding, skateboarding, biking, and much more!
