This cute apartment is centrally located 1 block from Missoula's river-front trails, 3 blocks from downtown & the University of Montana campus, convenient to the I-90 interstate exchange, and within an easy walk to Missoula's best coffee shops, restaurants, theaters, and music venues.

We like that we don't have to drive to hike - our neighborhood is at the confluence of the North Hills, Clark Fork River, Crazy Canyon, Mount Sentinel, and Mount Jumbo trail systems - or to fish - we're just off the confluence of Rattlesnake Creek and the Clark Fork River where the native cutthroat congregate. We are an easy walk over either of the two pedestrian footbridges, a short river stroll to happy hour or concerts at the Top Hat & Wilma, and a (too!) close for a cone of ice cream at either Big Dipper or Sweet Peaks. This location also boasts spectacular views of Mount Jumbo, Mount Sentinel, and the Hellgate Canyon.

This apartment is part of a duplex - we live upstairs and are available for advice about what to do and where to go. If you decide to book this property, you will enter through the main door that leads to a small entry way. Our door is on the left and yours is on the right. For an authentic Montana experience, consider the Lazy Trout! It's a cozy, comfortable little house which sits on one acre about 7 miles out of Lolo, Montana. Lolo Creek runs through the middle of the property, which is just a few feet out the back door. It provides a great view, memorable moments and quality entertainment

The house is furnished nicely and well stocked with plenty of kitchen utensils and pots and pans. The living room has a nice view of the water and a big screen tv with Dish Satelite, dvd/cd player, amp and speakers. There is a comfy king bed in the master overlooking the creek and a nice queen log bed in the 2nd bedroom.

Being 7 miles into the mountains from Lolo, there is limited cell service, but internet is available. Traveler’s Rest Country store or Roper’s Bar & Casino is just 3 minutes down the road should you need any solid cell and WiFi along with convenient store items.

Downstream ten minutes away is the Lolo Steakhouse, Lolo Creek Distillery, Lolo Brewery and Traveler’s Rest State Park and Interpretive Center, where Lewis & Clark camped out. Or journey up south to see what all Stevi, Hamilton and the Bitterroot River have to offer. The Blackfoot and Clark Fork Rivers are close and Rock Creek, the world famous blue ribbon trout stream is only 20 miles east down I90 from Missoula.

The fishing here and around Missoula is very good in season (the 3rd Saturday in May thru Nov 30) for native cuts, rainbows, brookies and brown trout. Spring and fall are prime. On and near the property are nice stretches of water to fish, up and downstream. There is a nice spot which eddies out back of the house, perfect fishing for all ages. If the fish aren’t biting, it works great as a swimming hole to cool off in, or just sit around the fire pit and Lazy Trout Bar & Grill and listen to the creek go by.

Upstream is another world famous (Lumber)Jack Saloon, just 12 minutes away into the mountains, or enjoy a horseback trail ride or a soak at Lolo Hot springs- less than a half hour up the road. There’s also two other natural hot springs nearby-Jerry Johnson and Wier. Google them, they’re extraordinary. Just over the pass, the Lochsa River offers salmon and steelhead fishing and serious whitewater rafting.

This area is not only fishes, but hunt’s very well. Plenty of big game, turkeys, grouse and then some. We’re also close to major snowmobile trails and cross country ski areas, and there are plenty of logging roads and trailheads for hiking and biking.

So c’mon out to the Lazy Trout! A great place to relax with friends or family, or use as a base camp for further exploration of the Missoula, The Lewis and Clark Trail, or the Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness.

We are in a great location for all seasons with convenient highway access, and just 14 miles from Missoula. Southern exposure means plenty of sun, with room for campers and a small trailer or two. Events considered.

Perched along Ninemile Creek on 20 wooded acres with majestic views, this completely renovated and cozy two bedroom, two bath water front cabin is the ultimate relaxing Montana vacation that is great for couples, small families or a friends get-a-way.
Take the spiral-staircase to the second floor master suite which boasts a comfortable cloud-like king size mattress, large walk-in closet, full size bathroom with dual vanity and a two-person shower. Private deck, lounge chairs and shade. Throw open the windows and let the babbling waters lull you to sleep.
The guest bedroom (located on the main floor) has a queen-size bed, pillow top mattress, down comforter and feather pillows. Guests will use the charming main floor bath featuring natural slate tile floors, shower/tub combo, pedestal sink and fluffy towels. Each of the cabin bathrooms has a hair dryer, hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the main floor. The living area is tastefully decorated with rustic cabin décor where you can lounge on the comfortable leather sofa while relaxing in front of the wood burning fireplace. - "As a U of M alumni, my college roommate and our spouses decided to meet up outside of Missoula to celebrate 40 years of friendship. The stay at the house was perfect for the 4 of us and our dogs. We spent 90% of our time on the wonderful deck. The dogs played in the creek and ran around on the lawn space. We have used VRBO a lot over the past years and this property was by far the best stocked. If you like to cook, there isn't anything you will be missing at this home! The AC units worked fantastically in the 90+ heat and sleeping in both bedrooms was terrific. They even have a separate deep freezer outside for ice and items that won't fit in the inside freezer. Really nice to have! Perfect location and perfect stay. Our host was very available with questions right up to arrival. We had no reason to contact her once we arrived as her instructions were very well done. One thing to note-the road starting about 2 miles from the house is narrow so if you aren't used to MT mountain roads, you should be aware. Definitely passable with a car but we were both happy we had trucks/SUVs. In the winter, I think 4 wheel drive would be a must. But that is what you would expect to get a place that is extremely peaceful and quiet up in the mountains."

Welcome to your Downtown Private Retreat. Since 2017, we have hosted guests in our one-of-a-kind cottage accommodation. The 1930s stucco home is truly centrally located and entirely restored with plenty of character, inside and out.

Explore the riverfront downtown and surrounding hills on foot or set off on day-trips in any direction. Driveway parking is included. Let us know if you want to reserve that for your stay.

There is a comfortable queen bed in a separate bedroom, spacious bathroom with stall shower, and a living room with twin Chinese lounge beds that have 5" high density foam cushions, a dining worktable with 4 chairs, 2 Mid-Century style chairs, and various storage areas. Internet is available, and 32" TV (with Netflix only), central air-conditioning or heating with a thermostat in the hallway (we need to make a switch between the two though). You will find an unusual assortment of antique furnishings from around the world and an amazing meditation room.

The tiny kitchen space has a refrigerator freezer, 2-burner induction cook-top, deluxe 5-in-1 wall oven, an 18” wide dishwasher, and cabinetry. The appliances have important instruction guides ......OR plan your retreat from the kitchen too!

Only steps out the door, there are many surprisingly diverse dining and entertainment options: coffee shops, restaurants, trails, and other local gems. Visit the international award-winning 2022 Public Library of the Year, an excellent resource with spectacular panoramic views. Grocery stores and laundromat are also nearby. University of Montana and St. Patrick Hospital are both within walking distance. Highway access and airport are not far.

Guests have private access and use of the main floor space via the steps or concrete ramp in the photos and plan layout. The entry door keypad code is changed after each guest. And there is an additional privacy lock, once you are in for the evening.

This one-bedroom cabin is cozy and peaceful…perfect for a couple looking to get some much-needed down time, or for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy mother nature. The bedroom includes a comfy queen-sized bed, a handsome leather couch, small coffee table, end tables, desk and chair, and a hearty dresser. Barn door separates the stone-tiled shower from the toilet. Complimentary eco-conscious toiletries are included.
The kitchen is its own “room” complete with stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, Caraway cookware/bakeware, quality cutlery, handcrafted u-shaped bar countertops and much more!
There are views from every window with a wrap-around deck to enjoy everything in sight. Even though we are 4.5 miles from the main thoroughfare, it feels like you’re out in the country! Some of the wild animals that have crossed this property are deer, fox, coyotes, and turkeys. The occasional bear, mountain lion, elk and moose sightings have occurred.

There are many hiking and biking trails nearby or enjoy a day paddleboarding, floating or fishing the Bitterroot River! We are just 8 miles from Lolo, the gateway to the Bitterroot Valley, and about 45 minutes away from Lolo Hot Springs.

Please note the owners live in a permanent residence that is shared with the property the cabin sits on. This is a privately gated, semi fenced-in property consisting of 5 acres. Aside from an optional and quick walk-through or a question that needs to be answered, we’ll let you be! You’ll probably see us working on the property or catch a glimpse of our kids, dogs and cats running around (in addition to the neighbor’s kids and dogs!).

Located 25 miles north of Missoula International Airport, and 35 minutes from the University of Montana. We are pet friendly and offer an enclosed dog run off of the guest house. Simple bedroom, a queen bed, tall table with 2 chairs, chest of drawers, a love seat . Now we have a small refrigerator, microwave and a hot plate, toaster, blender, Keurig and water bottle and some supplies. The room is named Lilac Heaven because the owner has 13 varieties and 33 bushes of lilacs. These were planted in honor or her mother and grandmother. If you come between the end of April and the first of June you will see the blooming. Some of the pictures in the room are of her lilacs.

My newly remodeled kitchen is well furnished and a great space to cook. It opens onto the dining room/living room , which makes for great socializing during meal prep. Washer and dryer are conveniently located right off the kitchen. Guests share a bath with other guests, but not with host. I have an on-demand hot water heater so if you like to take long hot baths, you're in the right place.

This studio has everything to meet your needs in a perfect quaint, rural setting. Very close to fishing accesses, forest service land but close enough to Missoula for easy access to everything in the city.

This studio is in a completely separate detached residence on our property which also houses our main house. The studio is about 100 from the main house and sits back on the property which makes it far enough away from the main residence to give you a private setting. The patio to the Airbnb faces away from the main house.

The studio apartment layout is an open concept with a large queen bed, a large sectional, 3 piece bath with walk in shower, dining table for 6 and a large kitchen. The added amenities of a 50” TV with streaming access - all you have to do is log in. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney +, HULU, HBO to name a few. Just log-in! We also have extremely high speed WIFI which is wonderful for all your at home work needs. The kitchen is equipped with a great assortment of spices, flour and sugar along with pots and pans for all your cooking needs. You will also find a keurig to get your trip started off right. Why not have a coffee on the outdoor porch to start your day!

The studio is close to many stores to meet all your needs - Fresh Market, Walmart, Petco, etc. Instacart also delivers to our address for Costco, Target and Albertsons which makes your stay very relaxing if you don’t feel like going into town.

On the property, feel free to experience our 7 acres that backs up to another 30 and gives you access to seeing foxes, deer, elk, and/or wild horses on the
property.

The Entire Studio apartment is fully private with a kitchen, living, dining, bathroom, porch, etc.

Other things to note
Dogs are welcome but they need to be house trained. We will charge a fee for damages. Please also keep them off the furniture. We did provide you with a dog bowl onsite for them, hiking water bowl, leash, and dog poop bags for the local dog parks, etc that require your own bags. There are some treats in the apartment for your sweet pup too. There are also lots of areas to walk your pooch as well and I can provide a map.

Cats are not allowed period and no smoking is allowed either anywhere on the property either.

We are very familiar with Missoula and surrounding areas and can recommended places to go, eat, experience, listen to music and grab a great Montana brewed beer if desired.

We travel a great deal with Airbnb & VRBO and also can recommend places in other cities in Montana, the states and around the world!!!

We have a home in a comfortable, centrally located area of Missoula. We redid the daylight basement for a separate AirBnb space. It is nice and light and bright. You have your own entryway. Your space also has a mini fridge and a hot water teapot.

CLEANLINESS
We have adopted the AirBnb best practices for cleaning. We have an extra day between guests to ensure we have time to be thorough.

The space
There is a soaker tub, closet with chest of drawers, old china hutch with an assortment of books, guidebooks and maps.

It is our belief that a basement should be the best space in the house. It is the most quiet and when the windows are open you can hear the gentle sounds of a happy neighborhood. It is the coolest space in the summer and coziest space in the winter. It should be absolutely clean. You should be able to walk on the floor in bare feet and have that be a great experience. There should be no odor of cover up perfumes, but rather smell of clean.

I've always loved Tolkien's description: "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."

We absolutely want you to be comfortable.

Please be aware of two things about the space: 1. There are stairs down to the space. There is a handrail but for people with back, hip or knee problems, it may be slow going up and down. 2. The soaker tub is deep and therefore has higher than normal sides. For people with stiff joints or balance issues, it may be difficult getting in and out of the tub.

You will immediately see the stairwell down to your space. The bedroom space is unmissable.

This unit shares dormitory style bathrooms/showers that are cleaned daily by onsite janitor. We have 35 apartments and roughly half of them have private bathrooms and half share 4 bathroom/showers in the building (2 toilet rooms and 2 shower rooms per floor). There is no elevator in the apartment building. There is a steep flight of stairs you must climb to get from the street level to the second floor.

You'll feel right at home at our ranch style house at the base of Mt. Sentinel and Pattee Canyon. Our house provides access to miles and miles of trails for you to run, bike, or hike during your time in Missoula. After a day of playing you are a short walk to our local neighborhood taphouse, Cambie, or a short ride into downtown. If you are planning on heading down to the Bitterroot, our house is a perfect launch pad to get out of town quickly.

The space
Our home is your home while you’re here. The house has a fresh coat of paint inside and outside, a new deck out front, native landscaping, and a brand-new hog wire fence out front. We also remodeled one of our bathrooms (pictures coming!) and put up a brand new cedar fence in the backyard. In addition to these renovations we have a large deck out back with plenty of room for yard games, a Camp Chef Pellet Grill, and fresh fruit and veggies growing for you to enjoy.

Inside our house is cozy and full of light. You'll be surrounded by windows and succulents. Our kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and maybe more importantly creating the perfect cup of coffee. You'll have access to both full bathrooms as well as the two bedrooms upstairs and the finished basement downstairs. There is a third bedroom, but it is our young daughter's, so it is not included in your rental.

Other things to note
Like many homes in Montana, our house does not have AC. We will have box fans available for you for all bedrooms. The basement stays nice and cool and the nights in Montana tend to be super pleasant. We also love recreating in and around Missoula, so if you have any questions about things to do, we would be happy to answer any questions you have!

Situated in the Target Range neighborhood about fifteen minutes from downtown on the west edge of Missoula, our cozy mid-century basement apartment in our home (host lives on ground level) with outdoor hot tub is available with kitchenette, living room, bathroom with shower and two bedrooms for a maximum of 3 guests. Most guests report the house staying very quiet. However some guests report being bothered by noise (doors opening/closing, walking sounds, thumps, etc) that is occasionally part of the communal living experience. We do have quiet hours that begin at 11pm and ends at 8am. Guests are allowed to use the shared spaces during quiet hours, as long as they can do so quietly without disturbing others. We also provide ear plugs for guests.

Lewis and Clark neighborhood is safe and south-centrally located. There are many things to do within walking distance: Hike mount Sentinel via Lewis and Clark trailhead. Work out at YMCA (8min walk). Walk through Bancroft Ponds natural area to Patty Creek Market (13mins). Run on the Spartan field track (across st). Walk to Drum Coffee for refreshments (5mins). Walk to Vietnam Noodle for best Pho in town (11min). Walk to Odd Pitch Brewing (14mins). Walk to Cambie Tap House & Coffee for a meal and kombucha or beer(12mins). The walls are thin. Things that work well in this space include the use of AirPods or headphones with your devices to keep noise levels down and refraining from loud cell phone conversations.

This is a recently updated lower level (basement) unit in a top/down unit. After entering the unit from the backyard, you’ll walk down several stairs to your entrance. Once inside, you’ll have a living space with a couch that converts to a full bed, a Roku television, WiFi, dining space, and kitchen with all of your basic needs (coffee, filters, pots, pans, oven, stove, fridge, etc). The bathroom includes a simple shower. In the bedroom, there is a queen bed and ample closet space. The couch can be converted to a sleeper. Due to the layout of the building, you will most likely hear footsteps from the unit above you.
