- "This property was amazing. From the welcome gifts, to the well stocked kitchen with any item you could ever need, we felt truly at home from the moment we stepped inside. We were 45 minutes from the Bozeman airport and 40 minutes from yellowstone. The perfect location to use as a base away from the crowds of tourists. Gorgeous sunsets each night with a welcomed breeze during the heat wave the week we were there. We enjoyed the wildlife (horses, deer, and the bunnies everyone mentioned in their own reviews), the big sky, and the stars at night. To bounce off of the reviews i read before booking, there were comments about a squeeky master bed -- we did NOT find this to be the case at all. All of the beds were extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Plenty of extra bedding and towels were provided. We also made use of the washer and dryer and very much appreciated the detergent provided! Thank you for a wonderful stay, if we make it out that way again we will definitely try to book here again!"

Just the right amount of rustic, this cabin is also quite secluded with a few neighbors, including deer, elk, foxes, eagles, hawks, magpies, blue birds, finches, gophers, and more! Located with an awe-inspiring view of the mountains and so close to Yellowstone and Chico Hot Springs, and the western town of Livingston. Livingston and Emigrant offer nice dining, breweries, an array of art galleries and other unique shops. Chico`s pool is outdoors, wonderfully clean as water is fresh every day.
It is quaint with its knotty pine interior, river rock fireplace and custom log bed! It`s setting is perfect to create an awesomely memorable visit. You may come to visit Yellowstone Park, but you may find that you won`t want to leave the cabin! Hideabed has got a newer plush mattress to make our guests more comfy.
Apple and Bing maps have the neighborhood streets wrong, so please be attentive to my directions and map that I send you. Weber gas BBQ, outdoor fire pit, washer and dryer, WIFI (12-20 MBPS) and satellite television, heat and air conditioning, gas fireplace logs for ambiance in the evenings. With spectacular views of three mountain ranges in the Shields River Valley, the cabin is a perfect place to get away from it all. Perfect for a writer's retreat, family getaway, or use as a home base to explore Montana. It's about a 20 mile drive to local skiing at Bridger Bowl, and only two miles to the small town of Clyde Park which has a country market, 2 bars, post office, hardware store, and gas station. Close to excellent fishing in the Shields or Yellowstone Rivers, and about an hour drive to Yellowstone National Park. The larger town of Livingston which has many art galleries, entertainment, fine dining, and everything else you might need is 18 miles away. We are also about an hour drive to the closest airport and 2 hours to Billings.
Conveniently located off Hwy 89 on the route between Yellowstone and Glacier Parks, the cabin is in the heart of ranch country on a gravel road, perfect for those morning walks. At night you might hear owls hooting, elk bugling and coyotes yapping, while you look up at the star filled sky!
The cabin is quaintly decorated with country charm throughout. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a full size bed. In the living area there is a full size fouldout futon and a lazyboy chair. We can also accommodate with a Graco Pack and Play for baby. We can provide 2 mountain bikes for riding the local roads if you are interested, just let us know!
There are only 2 neighbors nearby, which is ourselves and one other house.

Most of all, we were so pleased that a momma black bear and her 2 cubs ran across the road right before we turned into the ranch down a dirt road that we then hiked for a couple of hours w our dog. I sooo wish we had booked the cabin longer on our road trip across the country, AS, St. Louis, Aug. 2023"

Montana doesn't get any more real than this. We invite you to our secluded historic cabin 30 feet away from the Yellowstone River in the heart of Paradise Valley. Come and stay awhile, watch the river go by and listen to the sounds of the Yellowstone River's great birds moving over the river from the cabin deck. If you're quiet, you can hear the wind from their wings in flight just feet away from you.
You may want to play a little game of horseshoes before grilling up a good dinner on the barbecue grill. Toss in your fishing line from the property's banks or launch a raft and sail away. Or you could just soak up the sights and sounds until your appetite gets you moving to dine at Chico or the many other nearby dining choices.
The manicured mature trees and shrubs on the property provide an idyllic park-like setting. There is a fire pit and benches for a relaxing evening fire, long conversations and marshmallow roasting. Count on having an all-wheel drive vehicle for the driveway. It's a steep one!
Guests must have an all-wheel drive vehicle. The driveway down to the cabin is very steep. Front wheel drive vehicles do not have enough power to make it up the driveway. Owners can assist guests with non all-wheel drive with options to access the cabin upon request. Do not attempt to drive down the driveway pulling an RV, or trailer unless approved by owner first.

- "We had a wonderful weeklong stay at this cabin. It was our first time to Montana, and wanted to be right on the river, and were not disappointed. The location was perfect, halfway between Livingston and Yellowstone Park. And not far from Bozeman. The property is very private. The cabin is authentic, small, yet comfortable. (We were 2 adults and a dog.) The kitchen is a good size with everything you need, including a fairly large fridge. The bathroom is nice, although the shower is very small. And the outside deck is awesome. You can watch, and hear the river, from the deck, which is very soothing. Or sit right at the riverbank and enjoy it up close. We'd see bald eagles, and deer came through the property in the early morning and late evening. A couple of things to be aware of ... if you're coming in the summer, bring insect repellent ... and you'll need 4 Wheel Drive or a capable AWD vehicle to get down to the cabin. The gravel road is very steep. All in all, it's a great property, and one that we will want to come back to."

Sit on the bench by the creek and listen to the rippling of the clear water as you watch a stunning sunset. This cozy and unique rental attracts honeymooners each year because they love the quiet, privacy of this secluded cabin, as well as the super cozy atmosphere inside.
Emigrant Peak's 10,915 feet of beauty is framed by the window in the den. It rises in the distance and provides the perfect setting for a stunning sunset with a fantastic view of the mountains. Eight Mile Creek runs through the property attracts bald eagles and osprey as they hunt the creek for fish. Once you settle in, take a stroll to the creek and dip your feet in or sit and read to the music of rippling water. Children love to play in the cool refreshing water in late summer. You can oftentimes see pronghorn antelope grazing on the bluffs across the road and mule and whitetail deer frequent the property year round.
A private, sheltered barbecue and outdoor dining area give you views of the mountains surrounding the property where you can share memories of the day's events or enjoy the amazing night sky. A welcoming fire pit provides the perfect setting for reminiscing about the day's activities. We have had many travelers who have told us what a find this place was, not only for the location but for the price. One couple even called it a 'diamond in the rough.'
Mountain View Getaway is centrally located in Paradise Valley, just one mile from the Yellowstone River, famed for fly fishing and scenic and whitewater rafting just minutes away in Gardiner, Montana. Horseback riding can easily be arranged at nearby ranches. There are many hiking trails in the valley as well as in the park. Music Mountain, another popular music venue, is 15 minutes away as well.
The rental is on the second floor of a decorative barn, which never housed animals. It is located on Old Yellowstone Trail North, which was originally cited as a buffalo trail, then Trail Creek Road, and then under the current name because it served as the stagecoach trail to Yellowstone National Park after the park opened and before a railroad spur was built to the park.
Emigrant Peak is framed by the living room window where you can sit and relax after an adventurous day in nearby Yellowstone National Park. The cabin's theme is wildlife: moose, deer, bighorn sheep and bison adorn the walls and linens. The large private bedroom has a queen-sized bed and huge closet with washer and dryer, and the living room couch easily folds out into a comfy queen-sized sleeper. The full kitchen and bath have everything you need to make your stay feel just like home. Most guests enjoy the cozy feel of the cabin and extra special personal touches provided by the owners who will do everything possible to please their guests! You won't be disappointed.
The biggest attraction, Yellowstone National Park, is a beautiful 34-mile drive from the cabin. The drive south down Highway 89 places you at Roosevelt Arch, the northwest entrance into Yellowstone National Park. While traveling, you will likely see more wildlife not to mention the majestic peaks of the Absaroka/Beartooth mountain range to the east and the Gallatin range to the west.
Within 5 miles of the cabin is Chico Hot Springs, which is a year-round resort with two hot springs pools, an exquisite dining room and a family friendly grille. At night, the Old Saloon hosts various local bands featuring a mixture of genre to satisfy your musical choice. The Yellowstone River, a short mile away, boasts some of the best fishing for rainbow trout. Or, if you like, you can float the river! - "Great location, great mountain views." - "Loved this cute little cabin. It was so clean and had that home feel to it. The decor and furniture made you feel right at home. I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the cabin. Absolutely was a breath of fresh air. Thanks to all!" - "This cabin is precious and was perfect for our family of 5. It had everything we needed. The owners were easy to work with, provided some unique special touches and made us feel very welcome. The views were spectacular. I loved sitting on the porch listening to the babbling brook. Wish the furniture out there would have been more comfortable like Adirondack type chairs or something and I would have stayed out all night."

- "The evening we had wood fire pizza was a vacation highlight. Don’t let the fact that the accommodations are connected to the residence trouble you. The home is well built and there was no noise transfer. View the night sky from the deck—stunning! We used it as a base camp and ventured out to Gardiner - Bozeman - Yellowstone. Great hosts and was above our expectations." - "This is a gem of a VRBO! The accommodations are better in person than what is shown on the website. Details everywhere, from fresh bars of soap in the showers to the plate of cookies and other goodies and the fridge of drinks, Christine and James take care of the little details to make the stay so enjoyable. Paradise Terrace was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The views from the accommodation are breathtaking. But perhaps the most memorable is the pizza night. James made the most delicious pizza and the cake Christine served was delightful. James involved the kids in the making of the pizza and they keep talking about how good the pizza was! Thank you James and Christine for your hospitality and conversation. Wish we had more time to spend with you in your beautiful home. If we are ever through the area again we will stay for sure."

Tucked into the woods at the end of the road just 13 minutes from the heart of town, this cabin is a treasure. Cliff built the place himself; each tree sawn on his tractor-powered sawmill. We added family antiques, new mattresses and original art (lotsa comfort and love). The covered porch is high in the trees with breathtaking views 1000 feet above the Yellowstone River. A stellar location, you will be hard-pressed to find a more memorable authentic cabin experience during your Montana travels.
Cliff was the stuff of legend; a barrel chested mountain man with a heart of gold and a zen-like deep-souled connection to nature. The cabin has power, running water, bath, shower and a full kitchen. The loft has a king size power adjustable bed and the "Powder Room" has a full size bed. Both beds are topped with hand stitched comforters and cozy linens.
The secluded cabin was built onto the side of a mountain above town. You can watch squirrels scamper on the ground outside the bathroom window yet the living room and porch at the front of the cabin sit high off the ground in the trees. Through the tree tops, sky surrounds a view of the Yellowstone River below and the Crazy Mountains beyond. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular from this nest of a home in the trees. The thirty foot porch has a BBQ grill, a dining area and a lounge area complete with a fire pit to cozy around while looking at an endlessly star-filled "Big Sky Country" sky (especially delightful as we do not have the distraction of light pollution). Nights are considerably cooler up here in the forest 1000 feet above Livingston, a welcome respite during the warmer summer months. Cliff's cabin is in it's own neck of the woods, easy to access and private. You will find plenty of forest and a few trails to explore. A big horned owl and its mate have been hanging around Cliff’s cabin - you may hear them hoot at night and in the mornings.
Although we live on the property, you will not see our home. We enjoy people but we do not want to disturb the beauty of quietude which Cliff's cabin offers our guests. Simply let us know the level of interaction you desire. You may check-in on your own. We are accessible by phone and will let you know if we are out-of-town at the time of your booking. You will be able to see my art studio on your way to Cliff's cabin (ask us if you would like a studio tour). We are happy to answer questions and meet your needs. Let us know how we can make your stay dreamier.
- "If you are looking for a place that feels like home this is it." - "Cliffs cabin didn’t disappoint! Perfect location for a secluded get away! Beautiful views of the mountains from the deck. We loved this rustic little slice of heaven and our host was more than accommodating with our requests." - "This was the most fun, authentic, mountain retreat complete with trophies on the walls. It was perfect for us two grandparents and two teenage grandsons. One of the boys split some logs for our fire at night. AND it's only ten minutes to charming Livingston, MT!"

- "This is one of the best stays we’ve ever had. The house is perfect. It has everything you need, and it was squeaky clean. I felt incredibly comfortable. The 360 degrees views from the home are to die for. The backyard is perfect for some grilling and relaxation. It is very close to Chico Hot Springs. It’s also in between Livingston and Emmigrant. My only regret was not staying longer. When we return to Montana, this is the first place I will book. Congratulations to the owners. However, you don’t deal with the owners; instead, it’s a rental company. I didn’t have the best communication with the company, but I’m spoiled with constant communications from all the rentals we do. My only observation is that the road to get to the house is not paved. It’s a dirt road and some uphill. A truck would be helpful. We were there during summertime."

Everything a vacation rental should be - simple, clean, well stocked, convenient location but feels as if you are "away from it all" in a place so beautiful you will pinch yourself each morning. We are certain the deck or fire pit area will be your preferred coffee, cocktail, or hangout location. Closeness and views of the Yellowstone River also make this 2 bed, 2 bath home a great location! The home does not have access to actually fish from the banks, but the river views are as good as they get! Carters Bridge Fishing access is less than 1 mile away for launching a boat or fishing from the banks.
The home is a direct and quick 5 minutes into Livingston for fun nights out in the historical western town, convenient to grocery stores and "town" activities but an easy 45 minute drive through Paradise Valley to the northern entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
SLEEPING:
The master bedroom has a king bed and attached full bathroom with tub/shower combo, large closets and a private door to the deck that faces south and the river and mountains. The second bedroom is "bunk style" with a bunk bed with a full size mattress on top and bottom and an optional full size trundle bed. Additionally is a hall bath with tub/shower combo for this room. All beds have nice linens, extra bedding and extra pillows. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa (brand new) in the living room, linens provided.
LIVING:
Large and open concept living and dining room with sliding door to the massive deck. The kitchen has a huge peninsula for cooking and bar seating. The dining table sits 6 and 6 can eat at the bar as well. The living area has a gas fireplace for the quintessential Montana fire, smart TV with CABLE / DISH tv. The home is stocked with fun board games and when all else fails, take a break outside on the deck or enjoy a cozy fire in the fire pit outside.
PETS:
We love our fur friends and appreciate great dogs and their owners. Please pick up after your dog, keep them off the furniture and report any damage immediately to us. We charge a $200 pet fee and pets must be disclosed PRIOR to arrival and no more than 2 dogs, please. The area is not fenced, so please keep them on property and help us stay friendly with the neighbors and local wildlife.
Guests have access to the entire house and single garage. River views are terrific, but River access is VERY limited and somewhat dangerous. There is a small easement ONLY along the fence line. Guests cannot walk through the neighbors property to get to the river.
Even if you get to the river along the fence, there is a very steep bank that is not great for fishing. We recommend driving less than 1 mile away to the Carters Bridge Fishing Access site for fishing and playing near the river. Please respect the neighbors and do not walk to the adjacent property to the east to get to the river. There is a keyless door lock, so guests can check in after check in time on their own.
Garbage service is not available at this location, there are several places nearby to dispose of your bagged garbage, a map will be provided.
We recommend a car for seeing southwest Montana. You are a lovely 45 minute drive to Yellowstone and a 5 minute drive into Livingston. Bozeman and the airport is an easy 25 minutes west. If you do travel with a bike, there is a nice paved bike / running path that extends just north of the home to Livingston. It's a nice ride / walk and you can see town.

The views of the mountains, including Emigrant Peek, were just amazing and felt completely private. The neighborhood has tons of open, undevelop[ed space. Our dog had a blast in the open fields when we walked each day. In the mornings and evenings, we loved sitting on the deck and watching the deer and other critters in the hayfield below the house. The house had everything we needed. It is very private but so convenient to Emigrant, the Old Sallon and Folllow Yer Nose BBQ. Debbie, the owner, is awesome and was very helpful. Is was a sdpecial 4 weeks in a special place. We highly recommend the property for a couple and their dog."

- "This place is perfect. Comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen, comfy living room, pleasant outdoor area. We had 2 questions while there and our host literally answered in minutes. We have relatives in Livingston and will definitely be using this VRBO again." - "The host was very thorough with the instructions, the house was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could want" - "We loved our stay at Gigi's place! It's located on the most coveted street in Livingston, between the river and the historic downtown area. We enjoyed our daily walks where we stopped at shoreline benches to munch on our sandwiches for lunch while being mesmerized by the sounds of the rapids from the Yellowstone River. Also appreciated being able to walk downtown to so many good restaurants for dinner. The apartment is very clean with a fully stocked contemporary European style kitchen. We really liked hanging out on the back porch for breakfast and for a glass of wine in the evening. The most astonishing thing for us was how quiet the neighborhood is! We will definitely come back!"

The home was built fully ADA accessible - 1 level with a large bedroom with queen bed, smart tv and closet. Detached hall bath with full walk in shower is just across the hall. The open floorplan kitchen, dining and living area has high vaulted ceilings, game table, seating for 8 (plus the island), pull out sleeper sofa and another large smart tv.
The other bedroom at the other end of the house is extra large with 2 queen beds, and 4 single twin beds (2 bunk beds), and attached bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
The living area walks out to a nice oversized patio with outdoor dining table, adirondack chairs, a Traeger smoker, corn hole and bocce yard games. The yard is large and open - plenty of unfenced room for your dog(s) and kids to roam!
The property goes to the Yellowstone River and has a private bridge to get over a small irrigation ditch to get to the river. Private access for fishing for you! Check out this aerial video and home tour here: https://youtu.be/kP88AsUTk0U
Guests have access to the entire property, including the large shop / garage for your vehicle or extra hangout space.
The home will come well stocked with all the linens, towels, paper goods, soaps, detergents and more you need for an enjoyable stay.
The kitchen is STOCKED with all the dishes, serving ware, small appliances like blenders, crockpots, regular 12-pot coffee maker, toaster, sharp knives and more. You will want for nothing and never want to leave the simple, fun, clean and convenient Yellowstone Crest Lodge!
Pets are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee and pre-approval at booking!
For your convenience there is a keypad on the side door. The inside latch must be turned horizontally for the lock to work. Guests have full access to the entire property, half of the garage and the house.
We are always available for questions, but guests can check in and out using the keycode on the door.
Quiet, rural, you do see neighbors but all is safe and serene. Garbage service is not available at this location, there are several places nearby to dispose of your bagged garbage, a map will be provided.
You will need a vehicle in Montana. We always recommend a 4x4 for winter months. You can walk up and down the rural gravel road and walk to the fishing access. A vehicle is needed to get into town where you will find grocery, restaurants, entertainment and more.
The home is near a moving river, there is wildlife in the area including bears, snakes, deer and more. Please be aware.
- "Yellowstone Crest Lodge was just right for our family gathering. It was large and spacious with great access to the Yellowstone river and breathtaking views. The drive in along the Yellowstone river is also one of a kind. Saw golden and bald eagles which was a real treat." - "Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay at Yellowstone Crest. The views are amazing. Our first couple of days had rain on and off, but there is plenty of room for sitting around and playing games in the open living area. And when the sun came out we sat at the picnic tables, played corn hole and walked to the fishing access site down the road. Kitchen was well stocked as mentioned (only a grinder for our coffee beans was missing). Easy access to the North Entrance to Yellowstone was a great day trip. Very clean throughout with comfortable beds and lots of bedding. We did lose electricity for a few hours (very entertaining thunderstorm) our last night, but there are plenty of flashlights and we had a lovely candlelit dinner. The folks at Key Montana were easy to work with."
