The renovated Ranch House is perfect as the gathering place for a romantic retreat, or home base while watching wildlife and exploring the Elkhorns. It is part of a 900 acre working cattle ranch that borders National Forest. We are about 25 minutes outside of Helena, Montana, so we are close to town, but secluded in the mountains. There is access to hiking and biking trails minutes away.

The house has 2 bedrooms with double beds and a fold out sofa bed. It has a fully functioning kitchen and a smaller bathroom. Zephyr Hill is a stunning historical property located 10 minutes from Helena up Colorado Gulch. This creekside retreat is a great place for a getaway or an excellent basecamp for your Southwest Montana excursion. Carefully restored and updated with a small but modern kitchen, full bath, with a stone fireplace at the center of the cabin. Exposed logs and wood floors are comfortable while the Lodge Craft furnishings will remind you of accommodations in Yellowstone and Glacier. The huge main bedroom is a step-down from the living area and has a comfortable king-sized bed. There is also a smaller bedroom with a twin over full log bunkbed (sleeps 3). Comfortable linens along with extra layers of blankets make it warm on cool summer nights or the coldest of winter days.

We renovated this cabin for use by our own family, but it's too great not to share! We live in the adjacent home, but don't worry, with 5 acres of ground - we may not even bump into each other. All the same, if you need anything during your stay, we're right next door.

While cell service is sparse, we do have fiber-optic internet that allows for WiFi calling and all messaging options. Instructions provided in the welcome book at the Cabin. 100% of our guests have successfully used WiFi calling and you’ll see no difference in your service once connected! The TV supports Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Prime Video, etc. Please plan to familiarize yourself with casting from your own device or use your login info to access.

- "Wonderful stay! We enjoyed the deck, beautiful green scape and trees. The cabin was darling with rough hewn timbers and knotty pine walls. The rustic decor was so fitting for a “cabin in the woods”. Comfortable furniture and bedding. Board games as well as outdoor games were perfect for family fun. The kitchen was well appointed but small. Very nice to have a dishwasher. We are not accustomed to Kurig coffee making but figured it out. We had worried a bit about room temperature as we were there on a quite hot day. But it did cool off fine with windows open at night. One day we did use a fan in the afternoon. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Our 8 year old boy who visited from Helena loved playing with the host’s boys and dog. The step down in the master bedroom was a bit precarious for us. It was lighted at night. The lighting in the bedroom and great room was on the dim side. All in all we loved it and will return. Helena downtown was lovely and fun. Live music on Saturday night and plenty of food, drinks and ice cream available."

We would recommend for young children to be supervised due to the property is a bit rocky. There are nice sandy beaches down the road for playing in the sand.
Parking is limited, no RVs or trailers.
For those with boats, Yacht Basin Marina is a mile down the road, and Kim's marina is across the lake, you will want to call them to reserve a dock for your watercraft.
There is high speed internet if people need to do little checking in for work or what have you.
All you have to do is pack a bag and bring the food and drinks of your choice. The rest is there from coffee to linens and towels.
As a kid and even as an adult I loved being there and never wants to leave once I am there. Hope you choose our lake house for your stay. I promise you will love it.

There is a 3 mile forest road that climbs over 1,000 feet to the ranch property, so 4-wheel drive or AWD is recommended. Hiking trails accessing the ranch property and the Helena National Forest are right out the cabin door. 15 MN drive to restaurants in Clancy and 30 mn drive to Helena state capital.

Listing C is not a conventional four-walled room with a lockable door enclosure. It is a naturally occuring , unique and cozy SPACE, designed by the Lodge's architectural design.

It is located in a curtained loft on the 3rd floor. It has a view of the grand area. The indoor camper may open or close this curtain, as he prefers.

Besides the loft, this indoor camping space is naturally designed by the backside of a large Scandinavian fireplace plus two walls containing the Lodge's library., which is closed when the space is occupied.

Entry into this space is through an antique folding wooden lattice door.

Outdoor campers and hikers find this indoor camping experience a refreshing respite, where they can get a hot shower, do laundry, prepare food, spend a night or two indoors in a "make the most of it, structurally provided" space... like they do when camping in a forest ... before they temporarily change universes and come inside.
Note, Listing C is not for long term guests. Maximum booking time is 5 days.

Guests understand that this listing is a "home," not a hotel. It has no 24/7 front desk personnel. So communicating via text and cell phone, as requested, is vital. Then she can adjust to your schedule and be present when you arrive. Please check your message inbox frequently.

Hostess and resident owner, Anna Sharon, has lived here since 1983. She considers her guests as if they have "come home." She engages and treats them as dearly welcomed and cherished individuals.

Two critters occupy the premises: A three and one-half years old people-loving, herding dog, Mac, whose favorite pastime is playing kickball hockey with his herding ball with everybody, and Zoey, a gray friendly Tabby, that loves the out-of-doors. The Lodge does not receive other animals. Under Montana's local law, homeowners have the right to chose in this matter.

The Broadwater Hot Springs on the edge of Helena features three outdoor pools, a hot tub, a water slide and a newly remodeled inside restaurant.

Located in the heart of the original town site for Helena, the Benton House provides great access to downtown, the mountain trails, and all that is wonderful about Helena. We are owner occupied, you will be staying in a recently redecorated private suite on the 2nd floor of our Victorian home. The Benton House is 2 blocks from the walking mall, less than a mile to the trailheads on Mt. Helena and Mt. Ascension. We are also very conveniently located to the Capital and to Carroll College.

The space
The spacious suite includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, and a memory foam topper, a comfortable sitting room with a loveseat and smart TV, a kitchenette with all you need for breakfast or a light meal, and a really nice bathroom. Let’s be honest here, we decided not to build an entire kitchen because being in downtown Helena you have access to over 30 restaurants within walking distance, and who wants to cook while you are on vacation.

If you turn off your App's satellite view and use the GPS info text I send each guest, you'll easily find the Lodge. Otherwise, the last couple of miles, in which Apps show the Lodge but no roads near it, will disorient you, and nighttime navigation is close to impossible, although some people have a canny sense of exploring. Most don't.

Please save the hostess a search and rescue mission by using her written directives.

The space
Guests are required to comply with Airbnb's standard guidelines, which encompass a verified phone number, email address, payment information, and to adhere to the Listing's House Rules .

The hostess issues two welcoming messages to all prospective guests. The first message provides check-in details and GPS coordinates. The second message details Lodge Pleasantries and Rules.

These messages convey the range of home comforts and amenities available to guests and how-to considerations for a smooth check-in and living experience.

The check-in/navigation message will come to your inbox before you arrive.

The Hostess will send the "Lodge Pleasantries" house rules to your inbox in a separate message as well ad give you a copy when you arrive.

Please do not skim through them, and do not attempt to memorize them. Read them thoroughly enough to recall the answers to your questions were discussed somewhere.

Let her know you have read both messages before you arrive. She'll discuss questions you have on the first day of your stay.

Guests have access to both outdoor and limited in-garage parking on a first-come, first-served basis.

All guests of Listing A enjoy a private room along with access to all amenities offered by the Lodge.

The shared spaces include a spacious country kitchen, dining area, lounging areas, and a library nestled behind the grand Scandinavian fireplace.

Additionally, guests share two pantries, three refrigerators, and a large chest freezer.

The shared bathroom facilities consist of a newly tiled full bathroom, a half bathroom, and a utility and laundry room equipped with commercial-grade appliances. Due to the Lodge's septic system's enzyme treatment proticol, FREE & CLEAR bathing, laundering and cleaning products that do not kill the enzymes are provided by the Lodge for required guest use.

Complimentary WIFI is available.

During your stay
Guests understand that this listing is a "home," not a hotel. The hostess and resident owner, Anna Sharon, has lived in the Lodge since 1983.

A "family style" hosting is her approach. She engages her guests by treating them as welcomed, special individuals, considering them as if they have returned "home," whether for a single night or a longer stay. Her reviews reflect this gentle but mature kindness. That means make yourself at home and clean up after yourself right away.

Two critters occupy the premises. A three year old people-loving, herding dog, Mac, whose favorite pastime is playing kickball hockey with everybody and Zoey, a gray Tabby, friendly and in love with the out-of-doors. We do not accept any animals. Montana local jurisdiction allows home owners to determine this.

Allen Mountain Lodge is situated eight miles from the hospital which is on the southern outskirts of Helena.
From the hospital, within a two-mile radius, you can find churches, restaurants, movie theaters, grocery stores, department stores, hardware and automotive shops, golf courses, museums, trailheads, gas stations, and more...then you've seen Helena!

Within five miles of the Lodge, there are five country restaurants.

The Great Divide Ski and Snow Sports area, complete with lifts, a restaurant, and equipment rental, is located in Marysville, a 30-minute drive from the Lodge.

The Marysville House Restaurant offers a western ambiance and a unique way of preparing and serving food that is sure to provide a delightful experience!

Located on the western edge of Helena, Broadwater Hot Springs boasts three outdoor pools, a hot tub, water slides, and a recently renovated restaurant.

The Palmer and Crook Apartment was designed for the traveler looking for easy access, comfort and proximity to the Helena Trails System. We are 3 blocks from the Capital, a 5 minute drive from the hospital and downtown. There is a separate entrance with a keypad lock and a parking pad for the renter, Spectrum internet and TV.

The bedroom has a queen size bed. The couch is a sleeper with an inflatable double size air mattress.

The space
The private suite includes a short hallway between the three rooms. The bedroom with guest closet and dresser space, a reading light and room darkening shades. The guest living/TV room has a fold out couch that makes a double bed. The TV is not connected to cable channels and streams from most major platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc. The internet is good. A table and office chair for work space are available upon request. A Keurig coffee maker is located in the guest space. A small refrigerator can be provided in the guest space upon request. Sliding glass doors lead to a cheerful sunroom (unheated in winter) and to the deck and backyard. There is a full bathroom with guest drawer space, a tub and shower. All bedding and towels are provided. There is a door between the guest suite and the host living area. The kitchen is shared with the host.

Guest access
Guests park in the large driveway which is plowed in the winter. In winter months guests enter the listing through a ground floor door and come up one flight of stairs to the suite on the main floor. In summer, guests have a private entrance via the deck at the back of the house. The 3 rooms in the suite are entirely guest space and include a door between the host space and the suite. The kitchen, deck and yard and driveway are shared spaces.

My house is full of beautiful art, mostly created by my artistic children! (They have all moved onward!) I have a "music room" with all kinds of instruments, and an "art garage." I teach piano lessons and art classes throughout the year.

The space
Helena is a great place to visit. Located halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Helena has been called, "The Best Little Art Town in America." My house is very centrally located. The capital complex, which includes the Historical Museum is only blocks away. A major grocery store is also close. Going in the opposite direction, the downtown area has theaters and shops, art galleries, restaurants, and bars. There are walking trails close by, and many lakes in the surrounding area.
There are three bedrooms on the second floor, plus a bathroom with a tub/shower. My guests basically have the second floor to themselves, as my bedroom is on the first floor.
The "Montana Room," is more rustic, with antique furniture and mountain-themed artwork. This is the largest of the three rooms. It has a queen sized bed, and a desk area for those needing to work. I have a small refrigerator in this bedroom for guests to use.
The "Costa Rica" bedroom is lovely and the bed itself is soooo comfortable! (a queen size bed.) My friend and I traveled to Costa Rica a few years ago and so I filled this room with the many things I bought from that trip.
The "Bumblebee Room has a full-sized bed. There is a "chalkboard painted" wall, and so you can spend time drawing your own masterpiece!) This yellow, white and black room is so cheerful and there is a nice desk for those needing a work space.
The "Bumblebee Room" and the "Montana Room" have their own sites, with their own calendars, so check these out if you need more than one room.)
I currently teach piano lessons and art classes on weekday evenings. I have a Keuric coffee and tea maker (one cup coffee maker), and I generally leave out something quick to eat, like banana bread and/or granola and yogurt. I often have fresh fruit out as well.
My backyard is lovely. I have put much time and energy into landscaping this small, quiet spot.

II have a beautiful Tuscany kitchen that you are welcome to use. My living room and dining area are cozy spots for you to sit and relax. I am not a TV watcher, and do no get cable service, but I do get a few local channels, including NBC and ABC. You are also welcome to check out my music room, where I have a plethora of musical instruments and sheet music. When the weather is nice, you are welcome to use my bike.

This old house only has one full bathroom. :( I have a half-bath on the first floor, but there is only one bath/shower, so my guests need to share!
