The bed was hard/uncomfortable for me but my husband slept fine. The only downside I really saw for this property (and now that I know what to do it wouldn't be an issue) was check in. The property people will send you an email with the check in details and codes but they literally sent it about 20 mins before check in. That's ok, but I think they should send it out earlier or at least send something the day before saying you will get instructions tomorrow. It might just be me but I have anxiety anyway so not knowing what to expect is uncomfortable. Also, mine went to junk mail and when I didn't see anything I tried to call but the office was closed that day. Part of the issue is that the entrance is not view able when you walk up to the property. You are on a small cobble path/road and you come up to the house and see a gate. You must walk past this gate and keep going up and around the corner to the entrance. It would be easy to avoid confusion by putting a sign on the gate that says "entrance" with an arrow so that you know to keep walking up and around. Once I found the entrance and email we were good. This place also has laundry which was nice."

The space
Inside the apartment, you'll find an open living room with a sofa (which converts into a sofa bed), a spacious bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with large windows overlooking the lake, a dining table, television, WiFi, and a bathroom with a bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary amenities - therefore please take a look at our listed equipment.

Other things to note
Please take note of the following important information:

The city tax is not included in the nightly price of the apartment. It amounts to CHF 1.70 per night per adult.
However, children under the age of 16 are free of charge.

There are parking spaces yellow marked on the left side facing the building. You must reserve these with us in advance. A parking space costs CHF 10 per car per night.

As you may have already seen in the photos, the building is located next to a train track. Normally, trains should not run at night. The noise is not severe but you should be aware of it.

The building has no elevator. This apartment is accessible by stairs.

The kitchen cleaning is not included in the cleaning fee. We kindly request that you leave the kitchen in the same condition as you found it.
Failure to do so may result in an additional charge of CHF 50.

The room is bright + small, overlooking the wild garden on the ground floor. Depending on the humidity outside, sometimes it is a little humid inside. Please read the categories! The house is only intended for uncomplicated people who love old houses (1928)
Everything is very simple and partly improvised, hence the low price. 1 minute from Triemli train station (S10), 9 minutes to the main train station and 12 minutes up to Uetliberg, the most beautiful viewing spot. 5 mins to Tram 14, bus 33 and 80.

The space
In front of our house is the city at our feet and behind the house is a meadow, immediately after the forest. Important: The rooms are very simple in the old building style. You have to love old, simple houses, that's why the price is cheap!!! The bathing area is large and is located next to your room and this room is also the entrance, funnily enough. The bathroom has a concrete floor, a large shower, a bathtub and a washing machine. It has to be shared with us...but there are never any waiting times as we all shower at very different times (-: !
The toilet is one floor higher, see photos!
The garden can be shared, barbecue facilities and recreation right in the forest next to the house in the meadow. In addition, there is a large trampoline and two chickens that give fresh eggs. The Internet works via cable for iPhone and Samsung, no problem, so no Wi-Fi. If you are an uncomplicated person, you are in the right place with us!

Guest access
The entrance is on the first floor and leads directly to the laundry room - to the bathroom. From there you get to the small, pretty Airbnb room.

Miscellaneous: Sometimes laundry is also hung in the bathroom to dry. There is an automatic dehumidifier so that there is no increased humidity when laundry is hung or during long showers. If you appreciate simplicity and like uncomplicated and lively people, you are in the right place :-) .

During your stay

We are usually at home in the evening and in the morning and live on the first floor. However, we may be absent during school holidays. But everything is well labeled, so you can find your way around without us. However, we will notify you of any absences in advance.
If we are on vacation, I ask you to take the bedding away yourself. New linen is ready for the new guests, thank you very much!

The house is 250 years old and is one of the historic houses in the center of Herisau. The location is characterized by a large garden and a very quiet environment.

Since the house is located right in the center of Herisau, all public facilities are within walking distance. St. Gallen can be reached in 15 minutes by public transport.

Next door there is a good bakery/cafe, which guarantees breakfast in the morning, whether in the garden in nice weather or directly in the cafe.

The space
In this room, it is possible to cook or warm up simple dishes. Dishes, microwave and hotplate are provided. However, the dishes should then be washed in the kitchenette on the first floor, as there is no water connection.

The room is suitable for short and long stays.

I like to let my guests choose whether they want to communicate more or less. Sometimes I'm not on site, so guests have to manage on their own.

The room is part of our office space. Guests can choose to have more or less contact with the host.
If contact is desired, I am communicative and interested in my guests.

Upon express request, I will also prepare a breakfast for CHF 15/person or dinner (between CHF 20.00-25.00/person). If a multi-course dinner is desired, we can gladly agree on the wine selection (separate costs) and the culinary wishes. I've often been told that I'm a good cook.

The provisionally reserved dates can be requested if the number of nights is 2 or more.

The room is NOT in an apartment with other people. It is located next to 4 other hobby rooms in the basement of the house. So you have a lot of privacy.
I am usually on site and there for you when you need help or have a concern.

From SBB train station, you can take tram number 10 to Ettingen in 30 minutes.
The property is centrally located and only 3 minutes from the tram and bus station.
Shopping is several minutes' walk away.

The room is in the basement.
The bed is 180 cm wide.
The bathroom is right next door (on weekdays, the bathroom is still partly used by physiotherapy customers during the day)
