This darling little cottage that sleeps 4 is a perfect location for country living in the middle of a busy city. This cozy one bedroom cottage provides peace and quiet at the end of a dead end street in front, and the MacIntyre River behind. Very private with a six foot fences on the neighbors side. Right in the heart of the city close to buses, stores, restaurants , Con College but it seems like a world away. We have a huge deck overlooking the river with outdoor furniture. Double Drive. Summer Experiences:
We are near outdoor swimming pools and parks. Mountain views and Lake Superior views abound. Fort William Historical Park is 9.4 km plan on spending the whole day there. Chippewa Park is 16.2 km away. Chippewa offers free music on Sundays, let the kids ride the amusement rides and the antique carousel.Walk the woods, or the beach and let the kids play in the playground. On your way there stop at Mount Mc Kay Lookout and drive up the mountain to see the views of the city.
Winter sports, ski lifts, mountains nearby.
You can walk to Heath Park Pool an outdoor pool, take your kids to the library, or walk them to one of the playgrounds. When you see Mount Mc Kay you know you are close to home. We are a few minutes away by car from the intersection of Hwy 11/17 and 61.

Luxury apartment in the heart of downtown Thunder Bay. Located in The Vault, the Lofts bring all of the north-core downtown to your doorstep. Walking distance from the Marina Park and other downtown attractions
The apartment has a high ceiling, a new hardwood floor, and a newly finished bathroom with a luxury shower. Large living room and open concept kitchen.

- "Totally reasonable accommodations, but definitely seemed like the place was was intended to a real estate flip, and the owner ended up renting it out because they couldn't sell it. After booking the apartment, I hadn't heard anything from the owner about check-in, so the day we were supposed to arrive, I tried to contact the owner to get instructions. Phone went straight to voicemail, which was full (couldn't leave message). The voicemail message had a phone number for his assistant, which also directed to a full voicemail. Ended up having to call VRBO customer service to reach out to him. Not encouraging when you're about to start a 6 hour drive and cross into Canada. It was super clean and reasonably well furnished, but definitely a few things lacking. When we arrived, the mattress seemed super uncomfortable - turns out it was upside down! We flipped it over, problem solved. There was a thermostat, but it didn't appear to control anything. It was 80 degrees inside the apartment when we arrived, and we just had to open all the windows and wait for cool outside air to do it's work. There is a brand new TV mounted to the wall, but no antenna or cable, so not sure it is more than decorative. Kitchen had one frying pan and a small pot, barebones. But fine. Kitchen could definitely use a few basics - no can opener, no kitchen knives, no steak knives, no cutting board. Future renters may find the small cutting board we bought and left there. I dont expect a 5 star restaurant kitchen in a vacation rental, but those are pretty bare necessities to actually cook in my opinion. I'm not trying to be totally negative, the apartment was reasonably nice, all things considered. Centrally located in the downtown district, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and reasonably priced. This review is more for the benefit of the owner, as this was listed as a "new property." A few tweaks and this place could really be a prime listing."

The space
- Parking is available on my driveway. If you are driving a pickup truck or U-Haul, you must park very close to the fence in order to fit into the driveway. Please let me know if you are driving a truck or U-haul so that I can make sure you have enough space. I have two cars myself. Driveway can fit 3 vehicles comfortably.
- To access the home, you will enter through the backyard gate/entrance. Your PIN to unlock the door will be your last 4 digits of your phone number.
- Security cameras are around the property.
- There is a steam/grill/convection oven microwave for you to use in the basement.

- You are allowed to use my upstairs kitchen without hassle. I do cook 5 times a week between 5:30-7pm. Just let me know that you'd like to use the kitchen and I will adjust my timing for you.
- I can also cook dinner for you as well! You'll have to let me know in advance.

- The living room space in the basement is all yours to enjoy. It is a 55-in smart TV. Netflix and Amazon Prime is already setup for you to use so there is no need for you to login.
- There is a washer and dryer. If you are here for a short stay (up to 3 days), you are allowed to have 1 load. If you are here for up to 7 days, you are permitted to have 2 loads. More than that will be an extra $4/load.
- The basement bathroom is all for you to use. Did you forget your blow dryer or toothpaste? Don't worry. I've got you!
- The bedroom is a double bed with plenty of pillows available. There is a walk-in closet with hangers and a small dresser for you to store clothes if needed.

Guest access
The upstairs kitchen and basement laundry is shared with me. The whole basement floor including the living area space and bathroom are only used by you.

During your stay
I am at work on weekdays from 8:30am-4:30pm. When I'm not working, I'll either be upstairs or easily reachable by text. You will always get a response within 5 minutes.

Other things to note
On the rare occasion that I host a dinner party, please let me know if our volume is too loud. The last thing I want to do is disturb your sleep. I will always end things before 11pm. Earplugs are now available for all guests!

If you have a pet and are looking to stay at my place, please inquire about this request. I do love pets but I expect that the owner is with their pet at all times. They cannot be left alone.

This is a turn of the century home, in a busy downtown area. If you are looking for a place that is shiny and brand new, this isn't the spot for you. This place is designed for the relaxed traveler needing a comfortable, clean place to rest. If you are concerned with staying in a downtown location where there are people, buses and noises around please don't book the place. As a host, I have no control over whether or not you like the location, and I am giving an accurate description of the location. Also, since some common areas are shared, as a host I have little control over the total cleanliness during your stay. Inside the unit is all yours as well as free parking on the pad, right in front of your door on Merrill street. It is shared with other guests and the manager (my Mom) who resides in the house.

Other things to note
Hi, welcome and thank you! Please no parties or drugs on premises and quiet after 9:30pm as there are other guests who work in the early AM. Absolutely no smoking in the unit. If there is smoking there will be a $150 charge as it will have to be aerated for the next guest.
Please treat the place as your own, wash your dishes and clean up after yourself. If you have any full garbages, please put them in the shed by the house.

Upon checkout, Please lock the door and put the keys back in the lockbox. Note: there is a $50 lost key fee as I will have to change the lock.
Please tidy and do your dishes as if you’re visiting at a friends.
Please remove all garbage and recycling from the room and put in shed when you check out.
Please put all used linens and towels on the floor in the bathroom and we will launder them.
