- "It was a girls weekend!! We had a great time despite the weather not being the best. We made the most of it. The cabin was clean and quaint, just enough room for us. There is very spotty wifi but we were not there to be on electronics. The Pontoon Boat was very nice and we enjoyed our time out on the small lake. The paintings on the walls and in the office are amazing. It would have been nice to have a fire pit at the cabin, however we did use the one on the beach."

Welcome to our Lake Burntside 4 Season retreat. This newer hand scribed 1,700 square foot log cabin on 2 acres of property and 200’ of frontage on the pristine waters of Lake Burntside is only 9 miles from Ely town ctr and minutes to the boundary waters canoe area.

The open plan cabin has a master bedroom and full bathroom on the main level as well as a loft with full bath, sleeping up to 8 in beds. It has a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, great views and large patio overlooking the lake as well as a new barrel sauna down by the water and dock.

In the summer, use our canoe or keep your boat on the dock as you enjoy fishing, watersports, canoeing and endless water activity on the +7,000 acre Lake Burntside known for its crystal clear waters as well as it’s fishery of Lake Trout, Whitefish, Walleye, Northern, perch and pan fish . For winter, the home is well insulated with heated floors so take advantage of abundant cross country and snowmobile trails (snowmobile trail passes right by property on lake) or enjoy snowshoeing, ice fishing, dogsledding, or just relaxing with hot cocoa or wine in front of the fire. Enjoy fall colors by taking a hike on one of the many trails within minutes of the cabin.

At the top of a rolling hill surrounded by 20 acres, sits a beautiful year-round one bedroom cabin. Built by one of Ely’s top craftsman, every need is met with rustic setting and a modern twist to a very comfortable cabin. The wall of windows brings in sunshine. Thunder rolls overhead during storms and snow falls softly outside in the winter. You are inside but it feels like you are one with the weather. Truly a romantic place to stay.

The kitchen is a breeze to use with a Bosch dishwasher and a 5 burner gas range. Plenty of dishes, cookware, and an extra large refrigerator are provided.

The one bathroom is downstairs complete with large shower, plenty of towels and toiletries for your use. A table for 4 is great for eating, or for playing games. A sliding door opens up to a small patio outside with views of the lake.

The bedroom loft is large with a king size bed and a hot tub, were you can sit and relax while you take in the beautiful lake views. There is a balcony off of the bedroom loft where the family can enjoy their morning coffee in quiet solitude.

A sofa bed in the downstairs living room gives more sleeping options. A cozy area for reading, watching TV, or sleeping.

Enjoy nature with plenty of trails that will keep the hikers busy. A fire pit is great fun for evening entertainment. Plenty of parking spaces and a turn around makes for easy driving down to the main road.

Bring your boat! Down the long hill and to the left on the main street is the dock area. A dock and a parking space is yours. Abundant fishing is available in this lake. A few miles down is The Lady Bug Resort where you can rent pontoon boats and they have a boat launch.

Located a few miles before Ely on 169 you are close to one of the most fun towns in Minnesota. Ely is located on the boundary waters and bustles all summer with canoe enthusiast who flock to the canoeing Mecca. All you need from a town is available in Ely. Restaurants, grocery stores, shops and outfitters.

This place is great for families, couples, fishermen, and explores. Come and rest, relax, and build family memories.

During winter months you will need an AWD vehicle to go up to the cabin.

Morning coffee on the balcony, drive down the hill for afternoon cocktails on the pier, and a bonfire to end the evening… we will for sure be coming back! This cabin is nestled on a private island in the middle of Shagawa Lake in Ely, MN. from the dock or the sunset spot, you will enjoy expansive views of both sunrises and sunsets coupled with the sounds of waves lapping on the surrounding shores. This comfortably furnished and modern cabin has one bedroom with a full bed and an upper loft with two twin beds. The kitchen includes a built in two burner cook top and a propane refrigerator. Equipped with fishing boat with motor, a canoe, a private dock, a gas grill, a state park fire pit, quiet generator or solar power, battery powered shower head and rainwater collection system. Drinking water, bathroom towels, kitchen towels, hot pads, linens, garbage bags and, toilet paper are provided. The cabin has an open format, with blackout curtains and blinds. There is no running water. The bathroom features a compost toilet, and there is a recently built outhouse.

The cabin caretaker will bring you to the cabin upon your arrival. The Grand Ely Lodge provides parking for our guests as well as access to their marina.

The cabin complex is very private, it sits on over 3 acres of land and has over 300 feet of lake shore for you to enjoy on your vacation.

Burntside Lake is considered the most beautiful lake in Minnesota. This vary large lake has crystal clear water, many cabin owners drink the water right out of the lake. The lake has many miles of undeveloped lake shore and over 200 islands fill the large lake. The lakes northwest shore is adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, with direct access into the BWCAW available.

We are located 7 miles form the village of Ely Minnesota. Ely is one of the Midwest's vacation hubs, centered in the heart of the Superior National Forest and Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

The Ely area is able to provide almost everything you need in the way of services and products, shopping, entertainment and attractions such as many nearby outstanding (nationally rated) golf courses, the International Wolf Center, the North American Bear Center, the large Native American Casino, shopping in Ely's many unique gift shops and the area's many restaurants along with all the various outdoor activities.

Build over 80 years ago, the cabin constructed on the lakes edge, provide wide views of this spectacular lake. The log cabin has two bedrooms, a double bed in one and two twin beds in the other, with a rollaway bed available. Occupancy is 5 persons. Extra people sleep in the screen house. All linens and towels are provided. The log cabin has a half bath; the shower is located in the sauna/bath house. The sauna has a dressing/setting room and large wood heated sauna bathing room, wood for the sauna is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, large refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, plus cookware, dishes and utensils. There is Dish TV. Outside is a gas BBQ and picnic table on the patio. There is no phone or internet service at the cabin. Cell phone signal is picked up for Verizion phones in front of the garage, top of the hill located at the drive way entrance into the property.

Watch the loons on the lake and listen to them talk to each other. There is a wide variety of wild life on the land and traveling though it, duck, eagles flying over the cabin, I have seen Moose walk around the cabins, deer are present as they like eating the ceder trees, rabbits, red fox, squirrels, chipmunks, many variety of birds.
Did I mention there are a lot of fish in Burntside Lake to be caught by fisherman and fisherwoman.

- "We had a wonderful time - swimming, taking daily saunas, playing games, making art, reading, relaxing and having fun together. Best dock for running and jumping into the lake. Grandkids (ages 7,4) enjoyed the freedom of running around outside by themselves, finding frogs and bugs, etc. Absolutely beautiful setting. Enough room around it to feel it is not your typical cabin rental - you can't see another cabin or person from your perch in the house. It's rustic and minimal and that's just the way we like it. The sauna was a big draw for us since it was on the chillier side this year. The dock is perfect, you can cannonball right off of it into the clean waters of Burntside. Cabin was tidy, linens nice, and it had everything we needed to cook. We will be back, this is a gem."

This charming cabin, only 19' from the Shagawa Lake shoreline, was recently remodeled with guest comfort in mind. It welcomes you with panoramic windows for beautiful lake views from the open concept main room that includes the kitchen, living room, and dining area. New appliances, gas fireplace, washer and dryer, walk-in shower, bedding and towels allow our guests to focus on vacationing.

The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin beds. In addition, the living room has a comfortable queen size pull-out bed.

Enjoy a delicious cup of SK Coffee, a variety of teas, or a cup of hot cocoa, complete with marshmallows, as you take in a glorious sunrise. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to prepare your meals. In addition to the electric range, the chef will appreciate the choice of gas or charcoal grilling. Reliable WiFi is provided for those working remotely.

Outside, a fire pit surrounded with six chairs will provide hours of fun. Imagine the tall tales of the day spent fishing, your family reconnecting as you enjoy a favorite beverage and food while the kids play along the shore, or quietly relaxing while the waves lap on the rocks and a loon's cry can be heard in the distance while the fire crackles and snaps.

Shagawa Lake is known for its great fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and dog sledding. During summer a dock is available for our guests (boat not included). Bring your canoes or kayaks, and your pup, too! Outside there is plenty of parking for boats, trailers, and trucks making this home perfect for a wide range of sports year-round.

The cabin is peaceful and provides the feeling of being away from it all, yet it’s only a ten minute drive to the city of Ely. The county road where the cabin is located is part of the ATV/UTV trail system and at the south end of the legendary Echo Trail leading to multiple Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry points. Snowmobilers can access trails and the lake straight from the cabin’s parking area. (Trucks not allowed on the lake.)

Stay on your own 2 1/4 acre private island on beautiful Burntside Lake near Ely, Minnesota. One of the country's most beautiful lakes, studded with approx. 125 islands and ringed with coves and bays. Water sports paradise: swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, boating and fishing. A deep water lake of over 7000 acres. Fishing centers around Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass & Lake trout. Lake Trout & Walleye have been stocked by the DNR for decades and there is a healthy population of each.

The cabin is hand scribed logs from the Isabella area and constructed in 1984. (the outhouse is also constructed of hand scribed logs). The main level has one bedroom, kitchen, dining area, 'bathroom' consisting of a small vanity and shower, and the main living area with a wood burning stove. The area above the living area is open to the vaulted ceiling. The loft is open to the living area and has a double and single bed.

The island was 'spared' from logging in the early 1900's due to size, therefore we have first growth red pines. BEAUTIFUL!

Watch & listen to loons and ducks swim by. View sunrises and sunsets from one of the three decks. If you're lucky, you can view Aurora Boreallis from the dock.

We have an outdoor firepit for campfires or cookouts.

Located 20 miles northeast of Ely, MN, this northwoods summer home boasts all the perks of a secluded cabin on the Canadian border with a modern feel. The Loon's Nest Cabin is just 25′ from the water’s edge of Farm Lake (part of the White Iron Chain of Lakes - approx 7000 acres of water and across from Entry Point 31, No Kawishiwi River). This two bedroom lakefront cabin has a large picture window has a perfect view of the lake and dock to watch the sunrise in the early morning. Or perhaps grab an Adirondack chair and a book and head out to the end of the dock for some quiet time. Aluminum canoes, sit-on-top kayaks and a paddle boat available at 'no charge'. We also rent kevlar canoes and motorboats. We are a small family owned resort just 7 miles southeast of Ely, MN.

Located in town near the Ely watertower within walking distance of shops, restraunts and local attractions. Each bedroom has a private work station for remote workers. Easy 1/2 block access to the new trailhead for ATV, UTV, snowmobile, Nordic Ski, bicycle, and hiking trails. A local public beach and picnic area, Semer's Beach Park on Shagwa Lake, is so close guests can hear the Loons on the lake!

The space
2 upstairs bedrooms with queen beds, work stations, and plenty of storge for luggage. The couch in the living room is a sleeper for 1 with bed linens and luggage storage in the closet by the TV. There is a small desk in the living room too.

We are dog friendly. Dogs only are allowed at an extra charge of $50.00 per dog. If you are bringing 2 dogs please message me after you book and I can add the additional fee. Please no Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, or Dobermans. Dogs are not allowed on furniture and no jumping on the beds or furniture. Blue bags are provided and required to use to pick up after your dog. Place the bagged poo in the blue trash can at the alley. Thank you for your cooperation!

Guests will be assigned a unique 4 digit PIN to unlock the front and back doors to the house. Unique access PINs will be activated at 3:00 pm on the date of arrival and terminated at 9:00 am on the date of departure.

We provide boosted wifi and a ROKU TV for streaming. There is no cable TV. Guests will need their personal account log in information to gain access to Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, etc. There are many free movie channels built into the TV otherwise.

The computer monitors on the desks in the upstairs bedrooms can be connected to a laptop via the attached HDMI cable so guests can stream TV upstairs too.

Washer and dryer are located in the basement and available for guest use.

BBQ on the deck is for guest use. Please be sure to close the valve on the propane tank and clean the grill after use so it is ready for the next group.

Includes smart tv with streaming capability, wireless internet, central air conditioning, hardwood floors on main floor, washer/dryer, large deck with patio furniture and electric Weber grill, fenced-in yard, and 2 off-street parking spaces. Second floor has two small bedrooms- 1 with a full-sized bed equipped with a Sealy luxury mattress and the other includes a set of twin bunk beds. Please note the staircase to bedrooms is VERY steep and narrow.
This ‘smart’ home is equipped with an outdoor Nest security camera, Nest thermostat, smart smoke/fire/Carbon Monoxide detectors, Sonos speakers, and an August smart lock deadbolt to allow for easy, secure, and keyless entry for those with smart phones who would like to use it.

You’ll love my place because of the quiet neighborhood and three levels of living space with a large backyard deck. Main level has full kitchen, dining room, living room with a 1/2 bath. Upstairs is one large bedroom with queen bed and two tiny bedrooms each with a full-size bed. Down the hall upstairs is a full bath. The finished basement has a family room with a full bath and laundry room.

The space
My place is 4 blocks from Sheridan, 6 blocks from Whiteside Park and 2 blocks off the snowmobile trail (Taconite Trail). You’ll love my place because of the quiet neighborhood, and three levels of living space with a large fenced in backyard and deck. Cross country skiers welcome--waxing station available for your use in garage.
The main level has a full kitchen stocked with all the kitchenware you'll need (toaster, coffee maker, air fryer, blender, waffle iron, etc.), a dining room, and living room. The kitchen table seats 6 with room for 2 more at the bar. There is also a small toilet room off the kitchen, which is nice when people are using the other two bathrooms.
Upstairs are one large bedroom with queen, one small bedroom with full, and another small bedroom with a full bed. The full bath upstairs has a tub with a shower. All linens and towels are provided.
The basement has a family room with a full bath (shower only) and laundry (washer and dryer). We don't recommend sleeping downstairs because the windows are not egress, so it's not a legal bedroom.

This charming art deco apartment was completely restored to its original glory in 2019. Nestled atop the beautifully renovated State Theater in downtown Ely, it's within walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping - not to mention Ely's Pebble Spa is directly across the street. In the evening, the hue of the marquee glows into the windows like an ember of the campfire, setting the mood and creating a relaxing atmosphere for dinner and drinks.

The space
Ely's Historic State Theater was built in 1936 in the Streamline Moderne style, which is a subset of art deco. This style was popular in the mid-1930s. The stair stepped cased openings and built-in bookcase, base trim, door knobs, and windows are all stunning examples of the Streamline Moderne era. We tried to highlight the history of the building with various artifacts, history books, and antiques throughout the apartment.

High-speed internet (80Mbps) is available on site and one parking space is available.

The expansive stone patio is perfect for grilling and outdoor dining or simply enjoying a morning cup of coffee while taking in the serene lake views. At night, build a campfire, enjoy s’mores and watch the moon dance on the lake. Jump on your boat for a family day at Semers Park or dinner at the Grand Ely Lodge. The park has a public dock, and the lodge marina offers boat docking for patrons of the lounge or restaurant. There is a private hiking trail to spectacular views, directly behind the cottage. Explore 10 plus acres!

For those visiting during the winter months, the cottage offers direct lake access to snowmobile trails, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing are popular activities. Book a dog sledding or guided ice-fishing experience into the BWCA, outdoor fun in the winter season is endless.

The Cottage
The cottage comfortably accommodates up to six guests, with two cozy bedrooms, full kitchen, living, and dining areas. The single bathroom is well-appointed with modern fixtures and stocked with essential toiletries for a comfortable stay. Each bedroom is thoughtfully furnished to ensure a restful night's sleep, with queen beds, plush bedding and ample storage space for personal belongings. If you have a couple little ones along, the sofa and love seat offer optional sleeping space. The kitchen provides all you need for cooking and dining. Coffee lovers will enjoy the convenience of Keurig and drip coffee makers. There is also a washer and dryer for guests to use.
***Dogs are considered. One dog only. Please inquire before booking. There is a $20 per night fee. All dog yard waste must be cleaned up and all dog hair must be vacuumed prior to checking out. If extra cleaning is required, charges will apply at $100/hour.

In the units, you'll find luxury, eco-friendly bath products, CuddlePedic brand memory foam pillows and several books on the local history, as well as a variety of board games if the weather isn't cooperating.

Our home is a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath, four season lake home with absolutely amazing lake views!
This is a 2500 sq ft year-round home with open floor living area and lake views that will take your breath away! There is an electric sauna, an outdoor fire pit & a 3 season porch.
Our dog friendly home sits on 12 acres of wooded land and we have 150 feet of rocky shoreline across the road. We are a 10 minute drive from downtown Ely on Shagawa lake.

The space
ADDITIONAL INFO

-We recently installed central air in the house. Our house is large with A LOT of windows. So it cools (& heats) slowly. Please be patient with it if you find you need it. And P. S. Keep in mind that our house will never be COLD. Never. It’s too big and has too many windows.
-our satellite internet is, roughly, 120 down and 40 up wifi and 280/210 with an ethernet cord (cord provided).
-you have your own dock. It can be accessed through the yard and across the road and down the stairs (see photos) Dock comes out the first weekend in October.
-Outdoor firepit (provide your own firewood)
-Cedar sauna (Electric, not wood)
-charcoal grill
-We are a dog friendly home. So feel free to bring any dog that is potty trained and well behaved. We have a couch cover, but feel free to bring your own as well.

KITCHEN
The kitchen is large and open to the living room and dining room (the living room on this level is also what we call "the sun room". Its all windows looking out on to the lake).
We have a gas top stove, oven (with convection), full size fridge and a dishwasher. The ice maker on the fridge is not keeping up these days, so I use ice trays instead. The water dispenser is not hooked up.
We will have items such as dish soap, dishwasher detergent, olive oil, sugar, spices, salt and pepper grinders, condiments, whole bean coffee & grinder. If you find it in the fridge or cupboards, go a head and use it. Most of the pantry items you will need are there already.
We have well water, but provide a Brita filtered water dispenser.

LIVING ROOM - on the main level we have what we call, "the sitting room". The lower level is where we have a large smart TV with a firestick. No cable channels. Many board and card games & LOTS of DVD's are also available.

3 BEDROOMS - There are no bedrooms on main floor, there are two upstairs (plus a bonus room with 2 twin beds and a desk, there is no dormer, so be careful you don't hit your head!) with king size beds. The 3rd bedroom (king bed) is in the lower level walk out next to the "tv room".

BATHROOMS - There is a half bathroom on main floor and full bath on second floor. A half bath is in the lower level, along with the other shower in the house (its in the sauna).

In the winter, we store a small car in the garage. But there is still plenty of room for an SUV.

Our lake shore is wooded & rocky and across the road. There are several steps down to the dock where you can access the lake (see photos). Dock comes out the first weekend in October.

Because we are IN THE WOODS, there may be spiders, ants, etc in the porch. We do have a pest control company that sprays and we set traps and generally do our best to keep out what we want out!

The space
This booking is for the entire atomic lodge. The home comprises three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a bunk room, plus many common areas.

As you climb the concrete stairs , passing imposing boulder walls on all sides, you are confronted by a beautiful home that is quintessentially mid-century modern. With straight clean lines and a sea of windows, the atomic lodge welcomes guests to walk into the past to explore a home that would have been the delight of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Once inside guests will notice a clear connection between the inside and outside worlds. The countless windows allow in an abundance of natural light, beautifully highlighting all areas of this thoughtfully curated home.

The vaulted ceilings are clad in pine shiplap, creating a tall and luxurious feel while maintaining a cozy, homey atmosphere. All sections of the upstairs flow together seamlessly, allowing for an interplay between the formal dining room, kitchen, and the great room.

As is typical of mid century homes, our property is designed with an emphasis on lifestyle, family time, and an appreciation of nature. Visible out all the windows are a plentitude of pines, spruce, and sugar maple trees, standing as sentinels with orders to ensure your peace and privacy.

Our modern kitchen adjoins the great room in impressive fashion. This open floor plan makes meal prep enjoyable for the whole family or group. As someone plays their favorite record and another stokes the fire, the rest of your group can be collectively prepping for a feast with effortless interaction.

The kitchen is stocked with all you'll need for a complete cooking and baking experience. Our cookware and bakeware sets are from Caraway, a company that emphasizes both high-design and non-toxic construction. Made with ceramic coated aluminum, these pots and pans make for easy cooking and cleanup.

Our coffee bar is fully stocked with fresh, whole bean coffee, tastefully brewed using our Bonavita coffee maker. And for those wanting single cup and espresso options, we have a Nespresso machine with a wide selection of flavored pods. Last but not least, for the traditionalists out there, we also offer a French press. Pour yourself a cup and enjoy it from our breakfast bar or by the fireside.

Keep your eyes peeled while enjoying these spaces, as just outside the windows, a variety of wildlife can be seen. From a wide array of birds such as Ravens and Bald Eagles, to White Tail Deer, Fox, Rabbits, Red Squirrels, Flying Squirrels, and Mink.

The two upstairs bathrooms are fully updated and feature custom tile work, high-end finishes, and in-floor heat. There is nothing quite like a warm tile floor in the dead of winter to keep you cozy. Supplied by a tankless hot water heater, you and your group never have to worry about running out of hot water.

The two back bedrooms in the upstairs of the lodge consist of extremely comfortable queen mattresses, built-in closets and nightstands, as well as a spacious desk that is perfect for digital nomads to work remotely.

Our master bedroom features a floating bed frame topped with a comfortable king size mattress, a custom made headboard and nightstand combo, and a built-in closet. In addition there is a large recessed reading nook full of pillows, perfect for a book break or an afternoon nap. Climbing the Cotterman rolling library ladder will allow access to two upper nooks that await your exploration!

Our great room is the highlight of the home. The towering brick fireplace and marble hearth make for a grand setting for your fireside chats. Stocked with logs and kindling, you'll have everything you need to enjoy this space is style and comfort. Select a record to play on the turntable, or pick up the house guitar mounted on the wall and fill the space with the music of your choice. The bookcases are filled with National Geographic magazines from the 1950's & 60's, a wide selection of books of all genres, alongside puzzles and boardgames for late nights and rainy days.

DOWNSTAIRS

The lower level of the Atomic lodge features a 6 person bunk room with the most comfortable couch you've ever sat on (LoveSac Sactional), along with a smart TV with all the streaming apps you could want, topped off with cinema quality surround sound!

Each bunk features a memory foam, Twin XL mattress that is sure to impress. You'll also find your own outlet for charging, and a storage cubby for all your personal belongings to be kept at arms length.

There is a dedicated workspace, ready for computer or writing use that accommodates four people. Perfect for remote work or just surfing the web on our fiber optic WiFi.

A beautifully crafted mudroom at the entrance is perfect for storing all your gear and supplies. Think Swiss Chalet vibes.

The basement bathroom features all custom tile work, high-end finishes and a modern bathtub/shower combo.

Last but not least, we have a game room that has a poker table and a dart board for your use. We also have a massive wall sized map of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness hanging on the wall for all your trip planning needs. You'll also find additional boardgames and card games for your enjoyment!

OUTSIDE

You and your group will also have access to the front deck with outdoor furniture. This space is perfect for morning coffee or your morning meditation or yoga practice. It is an enormous deck that is both spacious and private. An amazing place to sit and listen to the wide variety of birds that live in the woods surrounding our property!

In the back yard you will have access to another outdoor patio area consisting of a poured concrete picnic table, as well as an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. We will have a propane grill available for you to use as well as outdoor plates and silverware. This entire area is canopied in the summer by two mighty maple trees, providing beautifully filtered sunlight and a refuge from the heat.

You will also have access to the outdoor fire pit and all the firewood you could want, at no cost. The backyard is surrounded by towering pine trees and massive maples, offering a secluded escape that will enrapture you. Check the woodshed for roasting sticks, and grab the supplies from the kitchen pantry for roasting Smores!

And last, but certainly not least...Ely is famous for it's incredible viewing opportunities to see The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). On nights when conditions are right, they are VERY CLEARLY VISIBLE from our front deck, and our backyard while standing around the fire. Check out the images in the photo gallery!

Guests will have full, unrestricted access to all rooms and areas of the lodge and the property.

Access the home with our user-friendly smart lock from Lockly. Prior to arrival guests will be sent an access code that will be valid for the duration of their stay.

The one-car garage will also be available for guests to use. In the garage we have an EV charger that is free to use - no need to find a local charging station when you can do it from the warmth of your rental!

In addition to the garage space, there is ample parking in our large driveway. Room enough to park up to six vehicles.

Guests will also have unrestricted access to our backyard sauna. Custom built in the Scandinavian style, our electric stove (Huum) offers a deep, intense heat, and accommodates 6-8 people comfortably.

If your group plans to sauna upon arrival, talk to your hosts about scheduled pre-heating and they will have the room hot and ready for you!

Also included in your stay is access to a local Ely gym. Once membership card is provided and additional guests can gain access for a small fee.

Ely is famous for many things, most notable for being the Canoe capital of the world! There are more outfitters (outdoor adventure supply companies) in Ely than any other town in the world. It is also the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, one of the most pristine wilderness areas in the country, if not the entire globe.

Tucked away on 500 feet of beach on Shagawa Lake you’ll find the perfect house for your Northwoods getaway in any season. Just 1.5 miles from downtown Ely, on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, the house has four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a beautiful and well-equipped kitchen, multiple indoor and outdoor common areas, a dock and boat lift and heated garage- insuring you‘ll have everything you need to enjoy boating, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, and relaxing for your time away.

The space
The house is at the end of a private drive, providing you a quiet base camp for all of your activities. The downstairs has a large and well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, beautiful custom hickory cabinets, a designated drinks refrigerator, chest freezer and everything you’ll need to whip up delicious meals in the house or on the gas grill on the back patio. The kitchen opens into a large dining area with a table that seats up to 12. The living room is a cozy space centered around a gas fireplace and a view of the lake and surrounding forest, a great place to gather to sip your morning coffee, play board games, read your book, or toast the end of a fun-filled day.

There are four bedrooms, two downstairs and two upstairs. The largest is downstairs and includes a giant bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, and large walk-in closet. The rooms upstairs share a full bath. In addition there is a HUGE finished play room.

Outside on the back deck there is a large table with chairs - perfect for enjoying evening cocktails while listening to loons on Longstorff Bay. Closer to the water is a Solostove firepit, waiting for your s’mores and ghost story entertainment. A short path leads you down to the sandy beach, dock and boat lift and the excellent fishing and boating Shagawa Lake offers up.

In winter you can park your snow machines in the heated garage, thaw yourself out by the fire and dry your gear in the well-equipped laundry room.

The house is half a mile from hundreds of miles of bike trails in the summer and snowmobile and Nordic ski trails in the winter. Town is less than five minutes away, making it easy to grab any last minute ingredients, have a delicious meal in one of the many great restaurants in Ely, do some window shopping or rent gear you may need for all of the fun adventures you can have in the area.
