This is a 3rd generation property that we grew up on. Centrally located , so we are approximately 20 minutes from Duluth, ..15 minutes to Hermantown & Cloquet areas. 10 minutes from Spirit Mountain.
The yard has plenty of room outside for bonfires, or just enjoying the outdoors along with a deck for your use. Large kitchen with a dining table.

We ask that you respect our property and care for it like you would your own.

The Old Village Hall, finished in 1929, was used as a court house, jail house, and fire house and now has become a living space. This is the lower level of the building, complete with a fireplace and laundry, one king bed, one queen bed, and one queen roll out. There is a patio with a fire pit, and enough room to park your truck and boat, four wheelers or snowmobile. In close proximity to Spirit Mountain and Mont Du Lac ski resorts, as well as Jay Cook State Park and the Munger Trail. The Oliver and Boyscout boat landings to the St. Louis River are just down the road. This river will take you into Lake Superior. If fishing is your interest, book an outing with Houston's Guide Service. We are 20 minutes from the Canal Park, Park Point areas in Duluth.

We had plans with other family in Duluth & could have spent more time at this property. Major appliances, beds, furniture like new. We loved it & would stay again. Two minor suggestions: Pls provide facial tissue. A few in our group couldn't clean their glasses. Consider providing regular coffee to brew (not just instant)."

The three levels were open and spacious with nice views of the lake (except for the basement). The main floor also features one bedroom with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom that also acts as guest bathroom. There’s a walkout to an outdoor bar height table and chairs, the grill, new large fire ring and hot tub. The yard is currently being grown, with a path and stairs that lead to a dock on the lake. The second floor hosts two equal sized bedrooms with king sized beds, a shared bathroom and open space that leads out to a massive deck with a wonderful view of the lake. There’s a large outdoor sectional with a gas fire table and another bar height table with chairs. The tall overhanging roofline helps shade the afternoon sun as well as some light rain. We didn’t hang out much downstairs but there is a foosball table, a seating area with a large TV. There are large TVs on each floor. In the garage, there are a couple of kayaks, folding chairs, and cornhole. There were a few little issues, but the host was amazing to work with. Overall the place is clearly outfitted for fun on the property and lake!"

There is an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard for your use, just bring your laptop to set up your travel workspace. The apartment is located in our driveway. Relax on the small patio with outdoor furniture and gas fireplace. You will find a picnic table near the apartment to enjoy meals outdoors. Launch your boat, kayak, or canoe at the nearby boat launch and explore the river! Park your boat at our dock during your stay. We do have a steep trail down to the river, but recommend guests access the river from the park nearby unless using our dock during their stay.

We like to give our guests privacy, but are generally available to help as things come up!

We highly recommend AWD for winter guests.

We are minutes from Mont du Lac ski hill and recreation area. Mont du Lac offers skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, and snow tubing at their OUTTA BOUNDS tubing park. In the summer, Mont du Lac offers Big River Tubing, Big Kahuna waterpark, Big Timber Playground, the Slooper Slide, disc golf, archery, mountain biking, the bark park, a pristine, sandy beach, and a marina with jet ski and watercraft rentals in the summer.

Jay Cooke State Park is right across the river! At Jay Cooke, you will find cross country ski trails, mountain biking trails, hiking, The Willard Munger State Trail, Grand Portage Trail, Oldenburg Overlook, the river gorge, and The Swinging Bridge.
We are also near the Superior Hiking Trail Terminus and an echo chamber at a Veterans Memorial.

This brand new building offers an enormous amount of outside space and privacy nestled in a wooded area. The huge yard gives plenty of outdoor space for kids and adults alike to enjoy the view. Optimal for 1-7 people, for a variety of uses from business travel, to the optimal family vacation with instant access to all of Duluth's attractions and events. Bike trails and Spirit Mountain ski and recreation area are literally a stone's throw away. The views of spirit island and overlooking the waters that enter Lake Superior are breath taking.

There is a window AC unit upstairs and combined with some fans it was a comfortable stay in summer. The downstairs bedroom is not fully enclosed, but offers plenty of privacy when sleeping, there is a door that you can close off from the upstairs bedroom area. We have a beautifully renovated two bedroom apartment with all new furniture, carpeting, tile and refinished hardwood floors. It is decorated in earth tones to add to the relaxing setting that the local area brings. The bedrooms have queen sized beds. The pictures that adorn the walls are watercolor prints of scenes from the Duluth area painted by a local artist. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and utensils you will need to feel right at home, including a pizza oven. The dining-room table seats six and there is a kitchen table as well. There is a washer and dryer for your convenience. The 50 inch TV, cable TV and DVDs are great! Wifi is included.

Owners and their dog live in a separate apartment on the main level of the home with their own separate entrance. The only shared spaces will be the yard and the dock area. Owners are available if needed to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. Garage and swimming pool use are not included with this vacation rental. This area has it all, so you can make your vacation as busy, or as quiet and relaxing as you want!

Welcome to the Historic Frederick J. Loss House, this 1907 built home captivates all the charm of the Twin Ports.

When you enter the foyer you are immediately greeted with traditional touches of the early 1900's. Stained glass details, intricate archways and period furniture are just some of the details that make this property so special. Through the first carved archway to the left is the sitting room. This area bodes two large leather sofas, antique lamps and a grand fire place mantel, which in nonfunctioning, but has been preserved in order to embody the original architecture. Through the second archway is the formal dining room with seating for six. The ordinate chandelier is the centerpiece to this room and the sideboard makes additional serving space easy for hosting. In the kitchen you will find a large open area that provides all the essentials you will need to comfortably cook and dine. Enjoy a cup of Duluth Coffee Company coffee or a glass of wine on the back patio. The second level features 4 bedrooms with sleeping space for up to 9 people. The master bedroom carries over the traditional theme with its furniture and provides a desk for the remote professional or traveling students. VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is suitable for children of all ages! Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the Neighborhood; b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 4 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out by the property manger and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental; and b) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) Pets are not permitted at the Vacation Rental

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors and leave both sets of keys back in the lockbox. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.

12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.
