style home built in 1942 is just like visiting grandma's house. Quaint
antiques, combined with two overstuffed couches, large TVs, central
air, and a retro feel kitchen with modern appliances will make your

The home is less than a 30 minute drive from downtown St. Louis with a
variety of terrific museums, world class Zoo, and the Missouri
Botanical Garden (a can't miss). It is also a quick drive up the
beautiful Great River Road to scenic Grafton, with spectacular views
along the route and several waterfront restaurants to enjoy. Just a
bit further is Marquette State Park.
And golf courses, there are a half dozen golf course a mere 20 min drive from the house.
And, don't forget the town where you are staying! Alton has it's own
wonderful museums, an art gallery, several parks, a charming historic
district, locally owned restaurants, funky shops, and a Saturday
morning Farmer's Market that can't be beat! If you time your stay

This historic carriage house was built in 1910. We added modern touches but really wanted to keep the character! You will have a bedroom with a queen bed, kitchen, bathroom with shower and living room. There is very fast Wi-fi, Smart TV, record player that also connects via bluetooth to your device, and hot tub. You also have a private outdoor area with seating.

We are in the process of renovating the large home on the property!

The Elm Street Escape is a beautiful house built in the 1930s, and perfectly updated through the years.

Original pocket doors throughout the living and dining rooms, granite counters and new appliances in the kitchen, and a beautiful master bath with dual shower head, rainfall shower.

The option for a 4th bed is available upon request with the use of the pullout couch located in the living room. Pocket doors in both sides of the living room and a downstairs half-bath ensure complete privacy in this arrangement.

*Must provide State Issued ID, a list of guests and sign house rules agreement within 24 hours of booking or booking will be canceled.

* THERE WILL BE A $600 CHARGE FOR SMOKING INSIDE THE HOUSE.

* PETS: We are unable to accomodate any pets due to an allergy of the owner/cleaner of this property.

*NO CHILDREN ALLOWED

* ADDITIONAL GUESTS: there will be an additional guest fee added to any guests not approved during booking.

*Cameras are in use outside around the property and in the Laundry/Porch area. There are none located inside the apartment itself.

We reserve the right to terminate this rental agreement and you will need to leave the property if these rules are not followed.

* LATE CHECK OUT: there will be an additional $70 charge if checking out late unless previously agreed upon.

* You are welcome to use any of the outside structures (stairs, walkway etc.) but owners are not liable for any injuries that may occur as it is understood this is a risk you choose to take.

*Quiet Time is between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Please refrain from any loud noise or music during this time.

* Garbage must be stowed in the proper garbage or recycling receptacle, located by parking area

*Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products or wipes should be flushed at any time. *Even things that state they are “flushable” please do not flush them down our system. This is old building with old pipes!

*Grilling must be done at least 10 feet away from the building.

* Check Out Time is 10 AM: To complete check out, make sure refrigerator is emptied, take out all trash, wash all dishes and put in dish rack to dry. Please leave used beds unmade no need to strip them. All used towels need to be placed in the washer. You do NOT have to start the load. Then text or use VRBO messaging to let us know you have departed.

*If you find any damage or cleaning issues please call us as soon as you Check-In. You must contact us to address any cleaning issues within 3 hours of your arrival. The house must be returned in relatively the same condition, i.e. no trash/decorations left/no spills/ no damage/ no missing items, furniture that was moved out back.

Violators will be removed from the property without refund or/and fined.
The person who created the reservation is responsible for any rules violations.

Lawn care and all utilities are included in the rent price.
