Located just a few miles from Garden of the Gods, Fishing and boating at Gleno Jones lake, Stone Face, Bell Smith Springs, Burden Falls, High Knob ranch, Double M campground.

- "The property meet our family of 4 expectations. We went to check out the eastern side of the Shawnee forest. We went to garden of gods, cave in rock, rim rock, and bell smith springs. The view and privacy are just what we needed. This location is not close to restaurants or stores. We cooked all our meals but one there. We did have a good meal at Trails End after hiking." - "We chose this property because it allowed couples their own rooms and bathrooms. In addition, this property is in the country with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the hammock and bench swing as well. We hiked at Garden of the Gods viewing the tree tops and then hiking the lower rim. We also hiked at Rim Rock. The next day we went to Jackson Falls but didn't take the hike down to get the front view of the falls. But, we did get to watch a 6/7 year old boy (fully supervised by his dad and his dad's friend) climb down a rock ledge in his rock climbing gear (safety all the way). And, we videoed a teen jump from the top of the falls into the pool of water below. He even climbed back up via a tree/trees the are growing next to the rock wall. That was cool too!"

From here, you can see the Stone Fort Bluffs, Tom Dick Hill, and the beginning of the Shawnee National Forest to the southeast.
Nearby attractions include Burden Falls, Bell Smith Springs, John Mack Hollow, Buzzards Roost, McCormick Lookout Tower, Trigg Tower, Jack’s Trail Ride, Camp Ondessonk, and Cedar Falls—all just minutes away. The Garden of the Gods and Cave in Rock are also easily accessible.
Guests have access to the entire property, except for areas that are locked and designated for storage. Stonefort is a quiet, sleepy little town with a population of 250 and excellent access to the Shawnee National Forest. The Tunnel Hill State Trail runs straight through the middle of town.

Everything here is on a hill with lots of rocks. If it's raining or recently rained you may find mud. Expect to see & hear nature all around you. This is a working farm so you may hear & see us or hear any of the neighboring farm properties. We are on property and also have exterior cameras throughout the 40 acre property. No Fence around pool! You accept responsibility for yourself & other guests.

3 night minimum on weekends or holidays and 2 night weekdays *the app keeps reverting minimum nights back to 2 nights in error. we will only honor bookings with our minimum night policy followed.

This 3 Bedroom is just a short drive to the wonderful Shawnee National Forest. The Master bedroom has a king bed with the second bedroom off of the Master with a small twin bed for extra guests or children who like to be close to the parents. The third bedroom has two full beds. All beds are very comfortable memory foam mattresses.

One thing to note is the cell phone signals are completely cut off in this area but the house has a great fiber optics internet and so we were still connected to outside world. If you want to good privacy and a rural setting then this is a perfect location in Shawnee area."

Hi! Our home is pet friendly with a one time pet fee of $50.00. Our cozy home is located in the heart of Harrisburg, which is know as the "Gateway to the Shawnee National Forest." The home is within walking distance of some very nice downtown shops and restaurants. The Tunnel Hill Bike Path is only one block away, and the beautiful Garden of the Gods is a scenic 22 mile drive away. Come put your feet up on our screened in porch and watch the squirrels play!
The space:
This home is over 100 years old. You can expect high ceilings, and original wood accents. It is very cozy and welcoming to families. With an older home, please also expect old pipes and things like that.

Local restaurants and shops can easily be reached on foot. There is a bike path only a block away. Grocery and other stores having anything you may need are only a short drive away.

It is also about two miles from Williams Hill Pass that supports four wheeling and dirt biking trails and about four miles from the River to River Trail. So if you want to do a lot of nothing or lots of everything, it is a great location. You most likely will see some wildlife daily whether it is deer, birds, foxes, turkeys, etc in the spacious yard or fields. The home has everything you should need for your stay and is very clean and neat and private. It boasts a full kitchen that is fully stocked. The large front and back yard allows plenty of room for you or your kiddos to walk or run. The back of the property meets a running creek in the woods. Very nice home in the country.
