- "Full disclosure: we didn't get to stay here. This is why I would absolutely give it 5 stars regardless: We got caught in Tropical Storm Sara which left us stranded at Belize City. Every hotel in the immediate area was booked. I was able to find this at the last minute and booked it. Erroneously, their website had not shut down in time to prevent me from booking there because they too were experiencing flooding and had to shut down their resort. While most others could have just looked at us and said "sorry, too bad" they not only helped us, but assisted us in finding another hotel. Pete, the owner even gave us a ride to our hotel. Let me tell you, when we get back here one day, we will come patron the resort when it's not in a storm - they were so incredibly warm, accommodating, and from what we could see in the dark, the resort grounds looked amazing. Come check them out!!!! "

Tours were a little pricey so in all honesty, some we booked ourself. Loved our mayan cooking class and excursions through Upsidedown Tours, which the lodge introduced us to, hats off to them especially kevin and orlin!! A beautiful stay. You won't be disappointed. - "This is an eco-lodging/ foundation. We elected to stay here because they run environmental programming in the local forest/ jungle. We had a 9 y.o. With us. However, we came during low season and staff was on vacation. So, no programs. The cabin was very nice but we were 5 so we, the couple, were planning to sleep in the back room. However, we brushed off critters and debris from the bed. It turned out the back room was not well sealed. In order to have a peaceful sleep, we ended up moving the mattress to the living room and slept there. The potential while staying here is good. Very lovely area. We just hit it wrong. Nice breakfast service at the restaurant. "

- "The Tuscan home was wonderful with lots of indoor and outdoor living space. The kitchen was the best-appointed I have ever seen in a VRBO - definitely everything you would want and in great condition. (If you want to cook it would be most convenient to go by a grocery store first). Although no air-conditioning the upstairs room cooled off adequately in the evenings with just the fan. We had kids sleeping downstairs where it was much warmer but it didn’t seem to bother them. The swimming hole was peaceful and just a few minutes walk away. Meals at the restaurant were beautifully presented and prepared - must be ordered in advance! The property is quite large with many other smaller buildings tucked along landscaped paths, a lotus pond, chickens, a nice loop trail through the jungle, etc. It’s located almost halfway between Belmopan and Dangriga. This gives access to lots of activities if you have your own vehicle or the owners can arrange a tour pick-up. The owners are very kind and helpful and were welcoming of our children (ages 8 & 10)"

- "This beautifully designed lodge, on 4000 acres, is a unique experience. 107 free range horses, parrots, monkeys add to the ambience. Tho only small issue we had was the cleaning lady just walked into the house while we were there." - "My wife, myself, and my brother stayed for four nights.We all said that this is by far the most amazing vacation rental home we have stayed in! The house and the location are incredible. When we weren't off to a nearby adventure we spent our time on the wraparound deck to watch birds and bats and hear the jungle sounds or just take in the amazing view. The indoor pool was perfect to come in and cool off occasionally. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals or making a nice cool frozen drink. The only thing I would suggest here is a LifeWater or high quality pitcher water filter. The water from the tap is from a mountain stream and has some sediment. The furnishings were luxurious and cozy. The soft bed was a godsend after the stiff board mattresses from our last four places! The only criticisms we had was not with the accommodation. Hopefully these will help management. The house keeper was late arriving to let us in at the late afternoon scheduled time and the house was shut up in hot/humid weather without AC on. While she led us around on a very brief tour (thank God) we were sweating buckets. There were a few basic maintenance items that have gone unresolved including a broken kitchen faucet and the master shower which is backwards so all you can get is tepidly warm water. The front door doesn't latch properly so it has to be locked in order to stay closed. The most unfortunate thing was the two skinny tick laden hound dogs kept in small kennels."

When you arrive at the gate you will be greeted by 3 protective german shepards....once they see you or your car one or two times they don't bark or approach you anymore. 2. The country of Belize has regular blackout periods and you may or may not know when and where this will happen. This is nothing the host can control but this house is solar-powered so its a good idea to turn off AC and lights if you are going to be away from the house for a number of hours to preserve your backup power. When we first arrived (at night) it was kind of nerve-wrecking trying to find the property and little scary for me because it seemed like we were in a very remote location but we found out in the morning light that were actally very close to a lot of things. I would definitely stay there again as the hosts were great and responsive whenever we reached out for something. Thanks Elisabeth for sharing your home with us!"

With an intentional open architecture, rough wood, thatch roofs, and elevated walkways, Jaguar Creek was designed to live in harmony with the rainforest as much as possible. We sit on 700 acres of pristine rainforest. We also own 1,200 acres of rainforest across the highway but we've put it in a conservation trust so that it will remain forever wild and free.

The Rainforest Deluxe Cabana accommodates up to two guests and features the following amenities:

Other things to note
While all our living areas and common areas are screened in, mosquitoes can be a nuisance at different times of the year so plan accordingly. Also, because we live in such close proximity to the rainforest, you'll want to take care in staying aware of bugs, snakes and other rainforest neighbors. The Howler Monkeys sound tough when they, well, howl but they are quite harmless and a fun addition to the Jaguar Creek property.

Also, since we are located deep in the rainforest, our internet connectivity is limited and sometimes cuts out entirely. We access the internet via satellite, which is both expensive and not the most dependable - particularly during rain showers. All this to say, we do have limited wifi available at the office for guests for basic emailing. We ask that you don't stream or up/download large files, as we have a set daily data allotment from our satellite internet company.

his brand-new, BEAUTIFUL home is located in the Sattva highlands and is close to both the natural pool and restaurant, yet feels secluded and nestled in the rainforest.


The main floor has a large master bedroom with a king sized bed, a second spacious bedroom with 2 queen beds, and an office that doubles as a guest room with a full-sized daybed. The enormous kitchen is state of the art. The porch has a sofa and Moroccan-style floor pillows. There are high-speed fans throughout the house, hot water and a luxurious shower, and boho-chic furniture throughout the house. The house easily sleeps 8. With beautiful lounging spaces including a big living room and screened in patio there is more than enough room to soak in jungle vibes and relax in luxury.


The eco-luxury retreat center has a beautiful yoga space, workout equipment, an onsite homeschooling coop that runs certain days of the week during the school season. It also has jungle trails with creeks and a freshwater pool built into the river.

Nested in the middle of our agroforestry system, the Garden House is surrounded by flowers and food producing gardens, all attracting precious birds and other rare wildlife. Lounge in the common area while reading a book from our library, all while enjoying the stay in one of the 2 rooms all set with 2 single beds. Enjoy cooking meals in a beautiful outdoor kitchen fully equipped to prepare delicious meals. Outdoor showers and eco-friendly composting toilets are just a few steps away.

The space
Like the name suggests, the Stone House is a true small castle in the jungle, built out of limestone and hardwood timbers. It is a unique accommodation for Sattva, let alone this region. The structure houses 3 single beds in the downstaits room and one queen bed in the turret. Attached you will find a semi-outdoor bathroom– large stone walk-in shower, and flushing toilet.

This is currently the most secluded accommodation of Sattva Land. The Stone house is a 10 minutes walk a steep hill that leads to the second ridge of the Land. We recommend this accommodation for more adventurous types. It hosts up to 5 people.
