We had several issues upon arrival, the largest issue being no hot water until the day before we departed. Elegance is a big modern sailboat (40 ft long, 14 ft wide) with all the amenities you need to relax and have fun, and is located in a beachfront marina, surrounded by turquoise water in the incredible Isla Mujeres.

She's a delight with a big deck, a nice galley, and a bedroom with AC, a queen-size walk-around bed, and a private bathroom en-suite with a shower.

Elegance is safely located in a beachfront marina at Downtown Beach beside the world-famous North Beach (200 meters from the ferry station), moored to the main pier so that you can step in and out on your own just walking. Also, the sea movement here is less than when you are anchored outside.

Downtown beach is at the end of the pier, literally 10 meters from the boat, so you can access it barefoot.

There is also a restaurant at the beach by the end of the pier, the Blue Ballyhoo, for the best seafood and Margaritas on the island.

Still, if you prefer cooking, the boat has a fully equipped kitchen: stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, and all you need.

- "We realize we rented a boat and would expect some rocking. However, we selected this vessel because the location in photos was more inland. We found the boat's location moved to the outermost docking area of the marina. My spouse spent the first day vomiting. I reached out to the host to see if they had any accommodations on land. They were so kind, but did not have any, so we settled in and started medication. I would like to say he got used to the movement, but the meds were the real heroes. Host contacted us later on to offer another vessel but after viewing it, we opted to stay aboard the Elegance b/c we didn't think the other boat was much better. We realized soon after that not switching was a mistake. The living room/galley area in the Elegance had small carpets randomly scattered throughout which we came to learn were covering rotten spots on the floor. One of which I fell through on our last day, scraping my leg nearly to my knee. My husband had to help me get out of the hole. There were ants & old appliances. Microwave was rusted. Bathroom/toilet/shower was much smaller than the photos suggested, it was the size of a Can-doo. The bed was highly uncomfortable and if we had more money, we would have gone to a hotel after the second night. We are campers, we understand roughing it, but we were not expecting this. The island was lovely, hosts were kind but the lack transparency and lack of guest reviews should have tipped us off. I feel as though we wasted a vacation."

The space
New exclusively on AirBnB is our our casita and guest house in mid-island Isla Mujeres.
This is not your usual commercial rental. We split our time between the island and Santa Fe
and as such the house is appointed with many personal items. The house is a fully remodeled traditional one bedroom Fisherman’s house. We have retained the original character with arches and the traditional hammock hooks in all rooms. The property is totally private with privacy walls and locking gates. The house is set back from the street with ample space to park golf carts or scooters. The natural stone patio has a 4x8 foot soaking pool and outdoor shower. The private double lot has a fully equipped guesthouse that backs up to the wildlife preserve on the Salinas. Our recently completed Treehouse has a view of Salina Grande and is great for yoga or to enjoy the Caribbean breezes. The guesthouse is a fully independent private getaway with bathroom, kitchenette and queen bed.
Located one block from marinas on the bay, near several popular restaurants, and 2 blocks from Chedraui which is the island’s version of a Super Walmart with food, bakery, liquor, pharmacy and everything else you may want. The Salina Grande has a great walking path around it and 2 blocks further is the path along the Caribbean shore (see my mini map).
My caretaker Felix is nearby to attend to any of your needs. I also have 2 stadium seats and cooler for the beach and 2 sets of snorkels if desired.
