NOISE:
The studio is located on the bottom level of a Tri-Level beach home (Note: the studio is not located in a basement setting). The noise is noticeably reduced with noise dampers, but please keep in mind the host and pet lives above the rental. Sleep packs are provided in the studio for any light sleepers.

COMFORT:
The studio offers central heat and air and is shared within the home, so guests will need to contact the host to request any temperature adjustments. Portable heaters and fans are provided for extra comfort as well as blackout curtains to help reflect sunlight and keep the studio temperatures cooler during warmer months.

Birch Bay is a cute seaside town in North Western Washington. It boasts a large sandy tide flat of several square miles as the tide returns to shore the water warms in the summer. It is the perfect place for a summer vacation.

It has large heron nesting areas, a state park at the south end and outstanding birding and sightseeing throughout the year. Birch Bay is classed by the Audubon Society as one of 50 Important Birding Areas (IBA's) in Washington State, along with nearby Blaine’s Drayton Harbor.

Birch Bay has a rich history that goes back thousands of years, and in fact Captain George Vancouver in the Discovery on his Expedition in 1792 landed on Cottonwood Beach with his fellows including Peter Puget (Sound), Joseph Whidbey ( Island) & Joseph Baker (Mt). Factual legend has it that Captain Vancouver stopped in Birch Bay during 1792 Expedition and the Admiralty used the Black Birch Trees to brew beer, a common staple on the long voyage- they named Birch Bay after the same tree.

Welcome to this peaceful retreat on the doorstep of Canada in WA State. This cabin sleeps 4-5 comfortably. It is simple and cozy, boasting a glorious view of Birch Bay through a bank of windows or from the wrap around deck. There is one large bedroom in the loft with a queen size purple bed and a small futon (great for little kids). The bedroom downstairs is separated by a curtain, and has a twin bed over a double bed. The bathroom has been updated and includes a shower, washer/dryer, and a bidet (just cold water, sorry).
This cozy cabin has a fireplace, forced air heating, sonos integrated speakers, and even an electric vehicle charging station. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine, air fryer, refrigerator, microwave, oven, and plates/glasses/pots etc.
The location of the cabin is wonderful. Situated just above the C shop (a classic Birch Bay Beach Bakery), you can walk to restaurants, coffee shops, beer gardens, and a lovely bayside berm, perfect for walks at any time of day. The entrance to the state park is less than a mile from the cabin, and Semiahmoo resort is just ten minutes away. During the summer this is a bustling place for young families, reminiscent of an 1950's beach town with many attractions. In winter, Birch Bay is serene and extremely quiet with birds and wildlife to observe. Great place to buckle down and get a big project done in solitude, or to come for a family weekend. - "We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals but this one might be my favourite. The decor was perfect, modern and comfortable. Sometimes the places that will accept dogs are not the best but that was not the case here. Upon arrival I noticed how clean the cottage was and I immediately felt relaxed. The bed was so comfortable it felt like home. The location was close to everything and we enjoyed many of walks around the neighbourhood. We enjoyed drinking our coffee outside each morning and dinners there too. My only regret was not booking a couple more this summer as it is now mostly booked into September."

- "We had a very cozy stay. It was a beautiful room and the staff was very nice as well." - "Our stay was short but enjoyable. With all new flooring, cupboards, appliances, fresh paint and new furnishings this has a fresh feel to the space. The foam mattress on the Murphy Bed was adequate. My host had given me a upgraded room with a new reservation number and when I asked about why we were not in the upgraded room the front desk gal said the owner “lied” to me about the upgrade and canceled the reservation for one room instead of the studio. - "We came to the area for a training and the resort the training was at was sold out so we stayed at the Sandcastle. The room was nice. It had a big kitchen, large living room with a fireplace, and a big bedroom with a king bed. The service at the Sandcastle was AMAZING. Seriously the best service I think I've ever had at a hotel. They were so personable and helpful. I highly recommend!!"

- "Accommodations were super clean, nicely furnished and we had all we needed! Pricing was good too! Disappointing that the concierge kept asking us to attend a meeting to hear about time-share. Offering us gifts to attend. We said no. Then they asked again the next day and really pressured us. Almost had to get stern to get them to back off (conversation was way too long for having said no). This is the 2nd time we have stayed there. They put us in a room above the kitchen/restaurant. Fans loud and ran all night long. Workers smoked outside (just below window) and we could smell the smoke in the room. Oher than that - it’s a great place."

Welcome to this beautifully remodeled cozy little one bedroom studio that is nestled in the heart of Birch Bay. The location is perfect, only steps away from the public beach access where you can explore the tide flats, dig for clams and enjoy beach combing. You are also close the berm where you can stroll along to local favorites like the Birch Bay C-shop, the Farmers Market, bike rentals, golf cart rentals, paddle boards and other beach rentals. A little further you will find restaurants, brew pub, coffee shops and more. You can always sit on a beach log and enjoy one of Birch Bays spectacular sunsets.
Our studio-plus bungalow is tastefully decorated and provides many comforts of home, perfect for a quick vacation or cozy relax and recharge space. You will enter the property from the gate off of the lane, up two steps onto a shared deck/entry area which has a privacy partition for your bungalow. Upon entry you will find that the kitchenette is equipped with a mini fridge, sink, two burner stove top, microwave, keurig, toaster oven and much more. Stocked with utensils, dishes and cutlery you will find all you need to prepare a light snack or a nice meal. There is a comfy Queen size bed in the bedroom and a small futon in the kitchenette area set up and ready for your stay. There is one bathroom with a shower and plenty of towels and face clothes for your stay. Two smart TV's are provided for you to sign onto your streaming services using your own passwords. There is a small washer and dryer designed for small loads of laundry and is available for your use. Complimentary WIFI is also provided.

Pool & Hot Tub Information
The heated indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub are open year round. There are no lifeguards on duty. Please refer to posted pool signage for additional specific information. Pool and hot tub are open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. The fitness center pool is open seasonally, Apr. 1 - Oct. 31. Children in diapers must wear waterproof diapers designed for swimming.

Wi-Fi is 4.95/day for 2 devices.

Enjoy beach life at Birch Bay! This tiny home is in a quiet neighborhood and perfect for two people. Wifi is suitable for remote work. Bring your small dog or cat. The tiny home is appointed with housekeeping necessities for a short or mid-term stay.

The space
We are off the main street a little way, and behind a big house, so it's quiet here. This unit is positioned along the creek with a row of other tiny homes.
Your tiny home has an all-wood interior and smells like wood inside. The queen bed is cozy for two and has a TV right above it. There's a fan attached to the wall for those who enjoy white noise and a breeze.
Bar height counters allows more space underneath for dishes and cooking supplies which are provided. Unit has microwave, fridge, two-burner cook top, toaster, rice cooker and air fryer.
The compartment for the shower and toilet is small, but, after all, it is a tiny home!
Your view is of the creek, directly from your porch and from the kitchen window. Enjoy watching the many birds and occasional sea otters.
Our clientele are mostly remote workers and vacationers in the summer months. We work and live here, and sometimes visit in the common spaces - but we do not have loud, busy gatherings. The vibe is quiet and friendly. You'll meet people and hang out if you want. Nearby restaurants and live music give you opportunities to expand your circle of friends.
Public beach access is across the street. We perch out there most nights to watch the sunset and take pics.
Shared coin-op laundry is in a little red building by the deck.
Ask if you want to borrow a bike.
Feel free to have packages, mail, and groceries delivered here.

Other things to note
The Pacific NW is known for lots of outdoor sporting activities. From skiing to whale watching, biking, kayaking, horse back riding, river rafting, island hopping, you name it - we've got it. This location can be your home-base for all these activities within a couple-hours drive. The Canadian border is a 15 minute drive from here. Vancouver is about an hour from the border. Check online calendars for concerts, carnivals and races.

The space
This is a quiet area, just about a mile north of the State Park. Walk across the street to the beach, have a fire and watch the sunset. Or walk down to the state park and let your kids romp around the playground or explore the campgrounds in the woods. Lots of biking space and, of course kayaking.
This unit is right next to the creek where you can watch the hummingbirds, robins, herons, eagles, ducks, geese... And you will hear the occasional gull down on the bay.
If you are a remote worker (workationer), this is the place for you.

Other things to note
The fun beach community of Birch Bay offers many restaurants and cafes. We are in the more residential (quiet) end of the "strip." But a couple miles up the road is where the action is: People watching, ice cream truck, water front dining, and the occasional summer festival or car show, live music options on weekends.
The town of Blaine is a 15 minute drive north. There you'll find more restaurants, cafes (all with water views), a marina to explore, postal services and a grocery store.
