The cabin is nestled in its own private yard just feet away from a small bay, with a stream and pond as a boundary. The shared low bank beach on Jackson’s lagoon is a small saltwater bay where you can see blue herons, kingfishers, eagles, the occasional deer or fox, and watch the moon rise bigger than life over the bay at dusk. The tidal water fluctuates, and this property has a partial water view.

We have direct tv to keep up with the rest of the world. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, Keurig, toaster, blender and general supplies.
The bath is a tub and shower combo with a single sink, small but efficient.
There is a covered porch with propane grill, crab cooker and grill utensils. With outside seating for out long summer nights. We have a fire pit ready for marshmallows or hot dogs.
There is a dock that goes dry due to tide. There are 4 adult and 2 kids kayak's and paddle boards. And remember your well-behaved dog is always welcome with an additional fee.
House is not suited for CHILDREN UNDER 5 Due to gas burning stove is the main heat for the house and gets VERY HOT, as well as a medium bank with drop offs to be aware of.

The jewel of the space is the views from the living area and bedrooms across Jackson Beach to the south. They're unobstructed and unforgettable.

You'll be located on one of the only saltwater rivers in the western United States, a fascinating natural oddity where fresh water melds with salt and then flows back with the tides.

The house also contains a display of tools and arrowheads found at the nearby archaeological site dating from 2,500 to 5,000 years old.

Other property owners have access to a nearby common areas but the guest yard and beach access is completely private.

1. Pets must be in control on the property and stay within the property lines (yard is not enclosed)

This north facing, waterfront home just minutes from town, is a retreat for a small family or a few friends to come and relax on San Juan Island. (EWR) **There is a staircase that is used to access the house.

Located on the main floor is the gourmet kitchen with an open concept to the living room and incredible view of San Juan Channel.
Enjoy a movie on the Smart TV (Roku's equipped for each TV with your personal login) or sit and watch the boats cruise past the waterfront. A small collection of board games is provided in the living room for the family to enjoy. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your cooking needs (spices are not always guaranteed) which includes an in-island cooktop stove and sub-zero refrigerator. Seating at the bar and at the convertible armoire/table are the options to enjoy your meal.

There is a large, spacious deck off the living room to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The house has a very large master with king bed and luxury bath and the upstairs guest room has 2 double beds with bath. The living room sofa sleeps one and there is a first floor powder room. Plenty of driveway to park a boat trailer. This home is fully equipped and accommodating for the best vacation experience. The 1st floor primary bedroom with king bed has a small deck and patio door. The walk-in Elfa furnished closet includes luggage rack. Wall mounted flat panel TV with Direct TV, ceiling fan, in room heat and AC control.

Neil Bay Hideaway is situated on little over an acre with views from living, dining, and recreation rooms of Neil Bay and Spieden Island. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has plenty of room for children and the family dog to play and romp in the fenced backyard and is conveniently located a short walk to the historic seaport town of Roche Harbor for fine restaurants, shopping, walking the docks, or playing on the beach at the isthmus.

Nice open floor plan so families can be together while cooking in the kitchen, playing foosball in the game room or watching sports on the 65" HD TV in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate dining room with a table and six chairs, plus two extra upholstered folding chairs for added seating. Don't worry about bringing salt and pepper. The owner tries to provide most spices you would need, along with olive oil, vinegar, etc. They even try to keep some coffee in stock.

The owners offer a wood burning stove in the recreation room and a fireplace in the living room. Wood is available at no charge on the property. Free internet and DirecTV is available. The primary bedroom is a king with a full bath and TV, the guest room is a queen with full bath, and the game room now has a sofa bed that can accommodate your children or adults.

Nearby activities include playing on the beach at the isthmus, swimming at the Roche Harbor pool for a nominal fee, taking a stroll through Roche Harbor’s sculpture park, kayaking, gin tasting, hiking nearby trails and parks, fishing, crabbing and exploring Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor.

During the warm island months, enjoy an evening dinner outside in the beautifully landscaped yard with the propane Weber BBQ grill and comfortable outdoor dining area. The fenced backyard is the perfect spot for your family pup to play or simply relax in the outdoor doghouse. The house is perfect for two couples, their family and dogs to enjoy time to relax and unwind while enjoying the quiet of the Neil Bay neighborhood.

Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood is provided for off-season.

One house-trained, less than 65-pound dog per reservation with a pet fee. If a request for an additional dog is made, an additional fee will be assessed. Only two dogs maximum are allowed. Dogs are not to be left unattended. If a dog is left unattended and a neighbor calls to complain about noise or other disruption by the dog, renter will be charged a $200 fee. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Renter assumes responsibility for all extra cleaning needed such as emergency carpet cleaning, furniture replacement, and or emergency laundromat use for bulky items like comforters and pillows. - "Lovely house, well equipped, very modern and clean. Unfortunately, when booked the plan was to have five adults and a small dog. One of the adults got covid and had to bail out. The couple with the dog had travel issues and couldn't make it, leaving just my wife and I. All of that was bad enough then on our second day there my wife had a misstep (be careful of the step leading into the game room just inside the main entrance), she badly sprained her ankle such that walking was painful and difficult. She also strained some interstitial ribs muscle catching herself from the subsequent fall. Icing, taping, ibuprofen helped, but our plans to further explore the island were dashed. Rather than hanging around we figured convalescing and care for the ankle and rib muscles could be better handled at home, we were able to switch our ferry sailing day and departed a day early. Rather than three nights we were only there two nights. So a house large enough to comfortably accommodate six people only has two of us and our three night stay was truncated to just two night. In the end no matter how nice the house was (and it was very nice indeed) the trip was pretty much a bust."

The San Juan Waterhouse is a uniquely beautiful vacation home whose spectacular west side shores of San Juan Island host rare privacy and unforgettable Orca whale watching. With dramatic views of Puget Sound, and the snowcapped Olympic Mountains, this waterfront home offers private vacation rental opportunities that are breathtaking in all seasons. Fourteen hundred feet of coastline on three acres, bordered by preservation land offers the most premier whale watching on the west side of San Juan Island. Orcas of the J, K, and L pod hunt migrating salmon along the shoreline, and on occasion sleep in our cove.

Built uniquely close to the shoreline, the Waterhouse is a very secluded, island home.
Custom built with much attention to creative details, enjoy a beautiful stone gas fireplace when ambiance and warmth are the inspiration. The fully equipped kitchen includes a professional Viking stove, a great invitation to the serious chef. A stainless propane BBQ on the deck makes outdoor cooking a breeze.

Multiple French doors, a vaulted ceiling and an open living space floor plan surrounded by windows provide customized comfort, and spectacular water views from all rooms including its two bedrooms.

There is plenty to do with the rocky coves and a private gravel beach to explore. Tide pooling is excellent. Bring your binoculars because bird watching is superb, with resident Harlequin ducks and the local Bald Eagle 'Rocky'. Watch fox, otter, and deer close by, or pack your favorite beverages, a great book and relax on a sandy haven directly in front of the house. Two well-furnished decks with outdoor seating, a picnic table and Adirondack chairs also beckon. A rocky fire pit is available, with the exception of May 1- September 30th when fire danger is high on the island. Best of all is whale watching as this stretch of shoreline has been identified by a Whale Museum biologist as a feeding area for Orcas. Watch whales pass by from the deck as their family groups come within a few yards of shore, hunting salmon.

Please note. Cars are limited to two, and are parked uphill, behind the house. The trail from the parking area to the house is a downhill grassy slope, that is somewhat rugged and can be challenging for some. Two big wheel wagons are provided to haul groceries and luggage. We are a no drone, no motorized bikes or scooter property. Old Johnson Rdwy is 1.2 miles of gravel road with sharp 90degree turns and is very quiet. Medium to high clearance cars are recommended. The Logger Suite is one of 5 separate Suites to rent among the Acanthus House. The Logger is a cozy, second-floor studio with a (new in December 2023) double bed, sitting area, a kitchenette with sink, and bathroom that includes a toilet, shower and small tub. It is furnished with a table and chairs.

This studio suite is equipped with Wi-fi and a Smart TV so guests can log-in to their preferred streaming services.

Guests will find that one block from Acanthus Suites will bring you into the heart of downtown Friday Harbor, offering many delicious restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, ice-cream shops and art galleries, all within walking distance. On Saturday mornings the local San Juan Island Farmer's Market is a 5-minute walk from the Acanthus Suites!

Any or all Acanthus Suites can be rented for different group sizes!

The Acanthus House is one of Friday Harbor's first important historic homes. Built in 1913, it was a wedding gift for a wealthy merchant's daughter. It has been beautifully restored. Located in historic downtown Friday Harbor; only 3 blocks from the ferry dock and Port of Friday Harbor and is an excellent option for those coming to explore the island and have a comfortable place to rest at night.

We are excited to share our newly constructed much loved mountain forest retreat.
Guests are welcome to use the entire premises . Guests are welcome to recreate in an area 50 feet in radius from the cabin. There will be small orange flags, marking the extents of use.
There are no other tenants on this property. Owners will occasionally be on the property for maintenance. We will respect the cabin and surrounding space to maintain your privacy.
There is an amazing multi limbed old growth tree near the cabin . Please refrain from climbing or recreating close to this magical tree. We asked that you keep a 30 foot radius as a no go zone.
This one bedroom cabin has a queen bed with the ability for a single person to stay on the couch . The open format kitchen is fully stocked for cooking on premises paired with a full-size fridge freezer that provides your food storage needs. A stack washer dryer provides convenience.

Guest access
Guess we’ll be sent Keycode access to the front door. Inside there will be a set of keys for both doors. Please lock up upon leaving the premises.

The full gourmet kitchen has two ovens and plenty of counterspace to prepare a full meal for loved ones. The dining table seats 6 comfortably or you can enjoy al fresco on the spacious outdoor deck. Soak in a gorgeous San Juan sunset on the water-facing deck.

The sunk-in living room has a comfortable and spacious couch to relax on while watching your favorite show on the Smart TV. Just off of the kitchen and living room is a bathroom with a relaxing soaking tub.

Bedroom #1 is located upstairs and boasts a king-sized bed, ample closet space and an en suite bathroom with shower.

Bedroom #2 has a king-sized bed, and #3 has a queen-sized bed, and these two bedrooms share a full bathroom in the hallway.

Glamping on San Juan Island. The Foxes Den is a whimsical Earthen sleeping cabin, nestled in amongst a Douglas fir forest. Fifteen minutes drive from Friday Harbor and less then a 10 minute drive from Lime Kilm state park. The cabin sleeps 2 on a comfy queen bed and features a small sitting area and access to a separate designated bath house, complete with flushing toilet and hot shower. PPROV0-17-0021

The space
The Foxes Den is an off-grid sleeping cabin lovingly made of earth and salvaged materials. This sweet eco-space resembles a hobbit hut and is cozy and whimsical. Battery operated lights provide the necessary power. Please note that as there is no electricity there is no place to charge a cell phone. The shared bathhouse with a designated toilet room labeled “Fox Den toilet” (complete with flushing toilets) and a designated and separate shower room “ Fox Den Shower” (complete with on-demand hot water) is in a separate bathhouse a short walk away ( approximately 75 feet) down a forested path. Please keep in mind that this cabin is not self catering and does not have heat.

Guest access
The Earthen cabin does not have a kitchen. There are a number of wonderful restaurants in town where guests can procure meals. We are happy to make recommendations. We provide a cook stove to be set up outside to make simple meals and prepare coffee/tea. Please note we do not provide cookware nor is there a place to do dishes.
During the day we are happy to recommend a variety of sight seeing options such as sea kayaking, whale watching or wine tasting to name a few. Or feel free to just relax in the woods with a good book. If you aren't afraid of heights take a nap in our tree net; a lovely netted hammock 15 feet above the ground that accommodates up to 10 people and enjoys a view of sky and forest canopy.

Other things to note
Please note that getting to the island requires a ferry reservation from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. You can see the current schedule and pricing at WSDOT-Ferries. The reservation holds your spot on the ferry. Make sure to arrive at least 45 minutes before the departing ferry. You can make your reservation 2 months before, 2 weeks before or 2 days before your departure. Some standby tickets will be available for drive up however these goes quickly and during the summer months may require a long wait at the ferry terminal. The Foxes Den is located 1 mile down a country road off of Bailer Hill on the North West side of the island. As such we highly recommend a vehicle in order to access the property and allow maximum flexibility for sightseeing and seeking out meals. Road bicycles will find our road difficult to navigate and possibly dangerous. Mountain bikes are able to negotiate the access road easily however.
Cell service on the property is spotty at best and WIFI is nearly non existent.
We advise bringing a head lamp or flashlight for evening visits to the bathhouse and keep in mind that the paths to the cabin and bathhouse are in a forest environment with uneven terrain so it is advised to bring comfortable walking shoes.

The rush of the mainland melts away here. Space to return back into yourself. Saturn’s Return is nestled in San Juan Island’s West Valley at the head of the Garrison Bay watershed, where forest, wetland, and pasture converge.

Our stream is home to the island’s only native population of trout, just 10 feet from the Inn. Bald eagles, great horned owls, red foxes, fawns, and adorable little green frogs. These 42 acres are buzzing with life and all yours to explore.

Walk the meandering trails through forest and meadow. Gather eggs or join us for our morning harvest. Lend a hand in the flower garden or help us plant new fruit trees. It's conveniently situated to all that the island has to offer. The 872 sq.ft. of living space provides you with room to stretch and relax. Sorry no pets/babies are allowed. Soak yourself in a huge hot tub off the bonus room to contemplate or meditate. We have 2 acres of park-like setting for you to enjoy your time on the island!
