Stay in the comfort of the Split Rock. The feel of a cabin in the center of town. I offer a full coffee/tea bar and waffle station with all necessities. My home is an ENTIRE, comfortable and relaxing 3 bedroom, 1 bath home. It is only a few blocks from the capital and in the center of town, in a beautiful, peaceful, neighborhood. Our home is a beautiful Victorian home built in 1909 in downtown Bismarck. This is a classic 2 storey home with tons of character and charm. The house is very unique with many original details maintained. Our home is located just to the north of downtown Bismarck. You are within walking distance of many unique restaurants, bars, and boutiques. In a 5 minute drive you can be at the Bismarck Event Center or the State Capitol. We are a 5 minute drive to the picturesque Missouri River and all the activities that it has to offer.

THE SPACE:
The space is very unique with original Victorian character and details. The home is quirky and what you would expect from a turn of the century home. This 2-storey home features 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths and sleeps 6 people comfortably.

THE MAIN FLOOR:
The kitchen is well-appointed with all the amenities needed to cook a large family dinner. And a dishwasher to clean up the mess. The dining room offers a large oval dining table that seats 6 and has a unique Dutch door to the kitchen! The living room offers plenty of seating on an antique couch and 2 side chairs. There is no TV on the main floor. The original hardwood floors from 1909 have been refinished and add beauty to the space along with large windows that let the sunlight flood in.
There is a main floor bedroom with a queen bed with luxurious linens.
The main floor also has a half bath with sink, toilet, washer and dryer. We have provided laundry detergent and softener for guest use.
There is a lovely sun porch with hanging swing for your enjoyment and small 4-erson dining table just off the living room. This room is best enjoyed in the spring, summer, and fall as it is not heated.

THE SECOND FLOOR:
The second floor is accessed with a staircase in the entry of the home OR a second staircase off the living room. Both staircases turn, but are not true spiral, and are fairly steep (not appropriate for small children or mobility impaired adults).
Upstairs you will find a cute sitting room with TV outfitted with a Roku that can access all your streaming apps. There is free high-speed internet. We do not provide cable.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs that both offer queen size beds. Both are dressed in soft white linens and are very comfortable. There is a small play room at the top of the stairs with children's toys.
The upstairs bathroom is gorgeous with a clawfoot tub and shower. We provide luxurious white towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and make up wipes as well as a hairdryer.

PARKING:
There is 1 off-street parking spot

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests will have access to the entire home. This is NOT a shared space. Stairs are steep. No children's gates.

UPDATES TO THE PROPERTY:
We have updated to new queen mattresses and headboards. We have removed area rugs due to staining. The living room has a new couch. The upstairs sitting room has a new loveseat. These changes are not represented in the photos. I will be having a new photo shoot soon! Rest assured the changes are major improvements!!

Yes. You will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located gem, in the historical district of Custer Park. Just walking distance from downtown. You will find this home extremely spacious with a unique design and stunning hardwood floors with a wood burning fireplace. During the cooler weather you can curl up with a good book and listen to the crackle of the wood or sit up to your designated work space with the beautiful views of Custer park. In the summer months, you can enjoy the massive patio that looks over the stunning park. Have a barbecue, with your family and friends, have a drink, visit, reminisce, then take a walk through the park to the Dairy Queen directly across the street and have some desert! On those hot summer days, take a dip in the pool in the park and cool off, then walk over to Bread Poets in which is also across the street. They have the best sandwiches and BREAD in the world!!! The space
As you step into this most fabulous 1920's historical home, you will find a large living area with wood beams along with a wood burning fireplace. You can put your feet up and relax on the extremely comfortable couch and chair. Kitchen has every thing you may need to make a fabulous home cooked meal. The full size desk is off the living room and overlooks the magnificent Custer Park. The sun area is lined with 8 window to give you plenty of sunshine as you enjoy the view of Custer park. Each bedroom have cozy beds with down filled comforters and a vintage spread for those who' are allergic to the down. Each bedroom is equipped with plenty of closet space. Last but not least, the bathroom has both a tub and shower to end your evening or start fresh in the morning. Enjoy!

This 50’s style home is close to the Interstate, a quick drive to the Capitol of North Dakota, Bismarck.
The Bee Hive as we call it, has 1 bedroom with a king size bed, 1 bathroom, living, dining and kitchen in a basement unit with shared use of laundry, patio and seasonal above ground pool (closed for winter) located in Mandan North Dakota. As a shared space there may be noises from other occupants. Older homes also can creak and make noises you might not hear in a newer place.

The space
The Bee Hive so named for the hosts first three initials in their last name and the yellow, and black & white theme in the main living area. The kitchen, dining, and living room with a closet are an open space. Prepare a meal from a kitchen island you pull into the middle or leave along the wall. The authentic 50’s yellow top dining table has plenty of seating for you and guests. This cozy space has a electric fireplace in the living room and the bedroom. Strum on the probably out of tune guitar or pound the keys on the little electronic key board, play some solitaire or game, you will find in the room or relax watching cable channels, or log into your streaming accounts to binge the latest Stranger Things series. The unit stays cool in the summer being a full basement unit, a ceiling fan in the bedroom, a box fan if you feel the need, no air conditioner. The tiny bathroom has a built in cabinet for towels, a fully tiled shower and a vessel sink with drawers in the cabinet. In the shower we share the back patio and outdoor swimming pool. Communicate with the owners if & when you want private pool time, as we do usually use it when it heats up end of May or beginning of June. During the winter this space has plenty of blankets to cuddle up in and two fireplaces. If we have record snowfalls the back yard patio is not available and of course the pool is not available after temps starting dropping usually beginning of September. The patio we try to have available for use till the first snow. 2023 we saw 5 foot drifts, no place to put that kind of snowfall.

Our neighborhood is fairly quiet but when school is in session you may hear children outside or the principal’s message greeting the students at school, a dog barking, a cat meowing. If you are very sensitive to noise this place will not be the place to bee.

This is an over under duplex 50’s style home. The security locked shared entrance has one flight of stairs with the original signature 50’s style red linoleum to the shared laundry facility and the unit security locked private entrance. Upon entering the “sunflower bee themed” unit there is a area to hang your jackets or gear, go left to main space or right to the bathroom or bedroom. The bedroom has a desk, TV, dresser and air purifier. A large closet has a iron and ironing board, hamper, additional bedding with enough space to stow luggage.
Going back upstairs and outside through a shared gate to the fenced backyard leads to a huge patio space where you can dine or just relax at the canopied table, two loungers, or swing, during the summer grab some fresh herbs growing in containers in the yard or remove the heat blanket to the 4 foot deep above ground outdoor pool where you can float or swim around and enjoy the beautiful North Dakota summers. Pool is open end of May through Labor Day, weather permitting.

Other things to note
The shared spaces, entry and yard is also shared with Chewy our orange 15 year old tabby cat you might find him sunning on the patio, garden or lounge chair or with his mild manner geriatric white dog, Louie. Suzy loves the wall flower air freshener from Bath and Body so let us know if you prefer no air fresheners and we will remove for your stay. Even though we do love animals and have pets ourselves, we do not allow pets in the Bee Hive including our own. In the shared spaces you could encounter Chewy or Louie during your stay we limit their access to those areas.

As we said, this is the main floor apartment of a duplex. NO Stairs!!! You enter through a locked entry at the garage door (this door is shared with the upper unit). There is an entryway that has the locked doors for both units and the shared laundry room. The laundry room has a washer and dryer for your convenience. Laundry is FREE!

The top floor of the home can be rented as well. It is a three bedroom one bathroom. It can be rented to add an additional six guests.

We ask you to be respectful and share the laundry room with the upper unit. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 10 am.

Other things to note
We love to travel as a family. We love kids. We have four. We welcome guests with children.

That being said, this home is not in any way child safe ( ie no child locks, no electrical outlets covers, no furniture anchors, no trunk lock, no toilet lock, blinds may contain strings, and children have to be watched in the bathtub as our plumbing is older and if turned on high could burn a child.) Hazards are not limited to just these examples.

The garage is a storage place for excess building materials we have. It is not a place for guests or children to hangout or play. The garage is simply a place for guests to pass through to enter the entry for their unit.

We have a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. We rent out each room, the downstairs room has its own living area, bedroom and bathroom, the two bedrooms upstairs share a living room and bathroom and then the common areas for all 3 are the kitchen, patio and laundry room.

The property comes with a single stall, detached garage & a beautiful, large cedar deck (the deck is a shared space w/ basement tenant). The room also has a dorm fridge and freezer for you to place all your beverages and snacks in. The room is located on the second level of the home with a shared bath.

Guests stay in this spacious 3-room basement suite of our home with two large egress windows for sunshine. The private bedroom includes a queen bed, love seat, dresser, closet space, and a smart Roku TV.

The private bathroom attached to the bedroom includes soaps, shampoo, towels, and other amenities.

Extra Bed
The kitchenette/dining/living area has a twin bed. This bed is available for guest use only if there is a 3rd guest booked on the reservation. A $12 nightly fee is added when a 3rd guest is included in the reservation.

All guests must enter the bedroom in order to access the bathroom.

Dining & Food Preparation
The dining area is not a full kitchen for food preparation. There is a dinette set, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, basic eating utensils, and dishes. There are no cooking facilities for food preparation other than what can be prepared in a microwave, and there is no kitchen sink for washing dishes. Hosts will retrieve and clean dishes.

A separate laundry room is available, upon request, for longer term guests.

Park in the wide 2-car driveway of this gray house with red shutters or on the East side of the street (no street parking on the house side of the street).

Self-Check-in from the rear entrance of the house. Follow the walkway through the gate and around to the rear entrance. Enter your access code to unlock and proceed to your suite downstairs.

Ceiling Heights
This renovated space is in an older home with basement ceilings that are 84 inches high in most places, but taller guests should exercise caution on the stairs to the basement and be aware of a section of the bedroom with a height of only 76 inches. The ceiling height may be uncomfortable for very tall people.

Host Access to Dining Area
Your hosts may occasionally need to enter the dining area to retrieve your soiled dishes for cleaning, or to enter the utility room. Hosts will knock and enter as quietly and politely as possible before entering the dining area.

Guest Access to Bathroom
Access to the bathroom is through the private bedroom for all guests.

NO FRIDGE available, but we can accommodate with a cooler of ice. We have an air fryer, microwave, and toaster available for guests to use.

We have 4 DOGS, one being an American Staffordshire Pitbull mix that we are training. They are all upstairs/separate from downstairs by a baby gate and we have a curtain up by the door for more privacy. They may bark, but they stop after a bit.

The space
The dryer is unavailable because it is broken. Bedroom tv has Roku, living room tv does not, but we have a variety of DVDs available.

Guest access
The outside entrance is stairs leading up to the side door to our kitchen and you will use our spare key. A curtain and baby gate will be up to keep the dogs away. They may bark. Stairs lead straight down to the basement. You have access to the whole downstairs. We may need to access to the laundry room, but we would inform you beforehand if we do. Dryer is broken. A/C & heat is controlled upstairs. You have access to 2 portable heaters.

Please message us any time for assistance. Let us know if our dogs bark too much. Otherwise we usually stay in our own area.

Other things to note
No smoking on the property. We don't mind, but neighbors will complain. They are nosey.
