SECLUDED, Yet just 10 minutes away from First Monday Trade Days, this "PLEASANT PLACE" Getaway is peaceful, charming, and completely surrounded by nature. This lovely 2 bedroom / loft / 2 bathroom home is completely furnished with linens, towels, and a full kitchen with a gas stove top and double ovens.
Bedroom #1 has a kingsize, fully organic mattress for a healthy nights sleep.
Bedroom #2 has a queen Murphy bed (pulls down from wall).
The downstairs 1 1/2 bathroom opens into the king bedroom and also into the hallway.

Upstairs, there is a loft (access via stairs, not a ladder), with a pillow top queen bed and a full bathroom.
The loft overlooks the kitchen / living area, with beautiful outdoor views.
There are 2 queen sleeper sofas in the living room. One is a Haverty's memory foam and the other is a Haverty's standard sleeper with upgraded mattress.

You are welcome to try fishing in our pond but it is not stocked. There are small perch and we have occasionally caught catfish.
Sorry, NO swimming (water activities) allowed and NO using of pedalboat or kayaks.

Our house is also on this property, approximately 100 yards from Pleasant Place Getaway. There is also a "visual" block (storage building) in between the 2 houses for your privacy.
This property is a wonderful family atmosphere. :-)

King Country Lake is located on a 10 acre lake with a 2000 sq ft cabin. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and a loft playroom with twin beds.

We are located 13 miles east of Canton's World Famous Trade Days and just five minutes from the art community of Edom which offers a variety of shops and restaurants. Blue Moon Nursery is close, and Ben Wheeler is 10 miles west and has great food, music and dancing .

Tyler, which is near by, is the Rose Capital of the world. Caldwell Zoo is also located here along with the Historical Aviation Memorial Museum. Exciting NY TX Zip Line adventure is only a 30 min drive.

The cabin is a country retreat on 35 acres. Visitors can enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking, canoeing and paddle boating on the property.

Our family of 8 couples and 2 small children enjoyed the large living room, multiple dining areas and your spacious outdoor living. The two porches and deck had lots of seating area. The pool was bigger than we thought it would be and the one year old had a blast “swimming” from person to person. We took several trips into town (10 mins away) to enjoy the dining, shopping, and the Pony Expresso coffee house. There was a farmers market on Saturday to explore and the Kneady Woman bakery was delicious. We took walks, ran, and strolled the baby to see the horses and goats down the road, played pickle ball in town and went to the city lake for a stroll, next time we will bring our fishing rods. Everything was provided at the house including towels at the pool. We will not hesitate to rent again. Thanks for a great week!"

*Upstairs King Suite #2 has a king bed, a wall loft twin with ladder access, and a queen window bed. The room has a private bathroom with combo tub/shower.
*Upstairs Bunk Room sleeps 4-6 on two twin over twin bunk beds and a futon. It does not have a private bathroom, and must share with king suite 2 or 3.
*Upstairs King Suite #3 has a king bed, a ladder-accessible wall loft twin, and a queen window bed, as well as a private bath with tub and shower combo.

The Great Room is a wonderful space to gather and chat, or play games or poker on the game table. There is also a checker/chess table in the Great Room, and a third game table for board game fun. There is a chest that holds a great selection of board games and card games, as well as pool towels for your use.

KITCHEN:
The warm kitchen and dining room space flow together in a wonderful gathering space. The dining table can seat 16 on the family benches surrounding it. There are 7 barstools at the breakfast bar for dining overflow or space for the kids to enjoy breakfast or meals.

LAUNDRY:
There is a laundry room for your use, and detergent and dryer sheets are provided as well as stain remover and a selection of cleaning supplies should you need them. An iron and ironing board are also in the laundry room.

POOL/YARD
The outdoor space begs you to come out and play! The resort pool is wonderful on a hot summer day. Although the pool is not heated, the hot tub is available for use year-round! There is a great selection of outdoor yard games like Cornhole, Giant Jenga, and Ping Pong.

POND
There is a pond on the property, and cattle that enjoy that space. You are free to wet a hook, but please be CERTAIN to close the gate and latch the chain if you go to the pond.

Guest Access:

Guest parking is to the right and left side yards and the concrete garage approach.
Host parking is to the left side lane toward the back of the house. Please do not block.

Guests may access the main house, with access through the front door, not the garage.

There is no garage access, and there is no access to the workshop in the pool building, as these spaces are used for storage and equipment.

Guests may access the back yard south side yard, and pool area. Beyond the north privacy fence is the property host area. We ask that guests not access the north side of the property beyond the privacy fence. Host, if present, will give guests complete privacy, but will be available in case of question or emergency.

Guests may have access to the pond, but watch for our country critters that say ssssssssss----< - there are cattle that have access to the pond area, so if you access it, it is imperative that you close and fasten the gate.

Interaction with Guests: There will be no personal guest interaction, unless requested by the guest.

The host may be available, based on scheduling.

There are separate private host/owners quarters attached to the garage of the cabin. If the host is on property, this is where she will stay. It has it's own private entrance. For this reason, please do not park in the lane next to the concrete garage approach (lane is marked), as this is the lane to the back of the host quarters, as well as private host camping area.

PET POLICY
1) Guests must notify The Log Cabin of intent to bring a pet. There is a maximum of two pets allowed.
2) At Least 3 days before arrival, provide weight, breed, and general description of pet.
3) “Aggressive breeds” are not allowed per insurance: Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Presa Carnarios, Chow Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Akitas, Wolf-hybrids, Mastiffs, Cane Corsos, Great Danes, Alaskan Malalutes, Siberian Huskies.
4) Cats, pigs, or undesirable/dangerous pets are not allowed.
5) Provide proof of vaccination.
6) Pets must be treated for fleas/ticks before arrival.
7) Pets must be crated if left unattended.
8) Scoop poop. We don’t want anything left behind for the next guest.
9) Pets are not allowed on furniture.
10) Pets must be on a leash outside. They are not allowed to run free. There are cattle in the pasture, and it’s entirely possible for a dog to get excited and run after the cattle.

Security Cameras:
There are seven security cameras on the outside of the house for security only, not surveillance. This property is our homestead, and the cameras are installed for our personal use and security. They are NOT MONITORED or WATCHED during guest stays. The cameras are on the corners of the house. There are NO INTERIOR CAMERAS. Again, WE DO NOT WATCH OR ACCESS CAMERAS DURING GUEST STAYS.

This space with the 4 twin beds is part of our continued expansion of Elken Retreat - completed in 2020- connected by the roof, but behind our home. 3 large bedrooms with 3 bathrooms (walk in showers) and a large gathering space with commercial kitchen and half bath. One bedroom has a Serta icomfort (so comfy) King bed and sofa sleeper. Two bedrooms have 4 twin beds (also comfy Serta icomfort beds with high end bedding!)... All rooms have extra space to add a roll in Serta rolling bed for another person. Also available is our King bedroom (attached to our home; separate from this space, but on same property).

When you arrive, you'll park on concrete or asphalt, walk through a lovely gate and enter into your own private retreat. Walk around the pool to your room. If weather permits, you can enjoy the pool and hot tub, along with a very large covered back porch with tables and chairs.

We have 2 cutie goldendoodles, Hazel and Blair- who may greet you and “talk” occasionally..we quiet them as quickly as we can!!

This space (suite 4) @ ElKen Retreat is a private room attached to our house. (We also offer 3 suites listed that are behind our home.) You will be treated to a wonderful King bed and a full sofa sleeper (added fee for more than 2 guests).

Jason is a Licensed Massage Therapist with his office on our property. Book your spa package during your stay! ($100/hour Added fee- pay after services; not available on Sundays)

Depending on the day and schedules, breakfast options include omelettes (made to order🎉) or egg casserole, homemade biscuits, bacon, gravy(normally served on Saturdays); french toast & sausage (normally served on Sundays); or muffins (normally served on weekdays). This space was started as a rental in October of 2018...because it was going well for us and our guests;), we have now expanded. In 2020, we completed a brand new addition to ElKen Retreat. Connected by the roof, but behind our home, we added 3 large bedrooms with 3 bathrooms (walk in showers) and a large gathering space with commercial kitchen and half bath. One bedroom has a Serta icomfort (so comfy) King bed and sofa sleeper. Two bedrooms have 4 twin beds (also comfy Serta icomfort beds with high end bedding!)... All rooms have extra space to add a roll in Serta cot for another person.

Retreat for the weekend: girls trip, Bible study, scrapbook, quilt, spa, leadership retreats, business retreats.

*Tell us why you are coming and we'll accommodate (pricing can vary)! Spa can include infrared sauna, massage therapy by licensed massage therapist, hot tub, facials, aromatherapy, saltwater pool.
