The cabin has three bedrooms and two baths to accommodate six or less comfortably. It has central air and is fully equipped with complete kitchen, linens, and laundry facilities, large decks with grill, Smart TV, and Wi-Fi to make this most relaxing getaway you’ve ever had! There is no smoking in the house or on the porch, there are designated smoking areas near by.
The master suite offers a romantic queen size rustic iron bed and a large private bath. You will love the spacious living room with a large leather sofa, flat screen TV, large windows that open up to the magnificent views and provide plenty of natural sunlight that brightens up the whole room. Second bedroom has a very comfortable mission style queen bed while the third bedroom has two twin beds for the kid’s. Rover is welcome but please leave your cat at home.

Glen Rose is a small community with several good restaurants including four delicious Mexican restaurants and also what we think is the best BBQ anywhere. City of Granbury is a twenty minute drive and has many more culinary options.

We are 50 minutes from Fort Worth, TX, 80 minutes from Dallas, TX and DFW Airport, two hours from Austin.

Area Attractions: Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Dinosaur Valley State Park, Glen Rose Paluxy River Walk, Dinosaur World, Barnard’s Mill Art Museum and Big Rocks Park. There are some cute shops and restaurants, antique stores, galleries, weekend farmer’s market on or near the Glen Rose Courthouse square, and don’t miss the pie shop. Great golf is available year round on five area golf courses including Squaw Valley Golf Club which is consistently rated as one of the top courses in Texas. Lots of sights to see and all are within a day's adventure. Also, great fishing (Striper, Bass, Catfish) in our nearby lakes (Lake Granbury and Whitney). You don't need to bring a pole, we will hook you up with a fishing guide who will provide everything you will need to land the big one while being chauffeured around a lake in a big comfortable boat. (Reservations required)

Paluxy River access is just a short walk down our road, a great place for photo ops or just cooling off in the warmer weather. There is a county park and picnic area on the river just a half mile from the cabin, out the gate and to the right follow the road to the low water river crossing at the bottom of the hill. One side of the river crossing is shallow with a few little holes you can sit in and cool off. The other side is knee deep at first and then drops off to about four foot deep or more. You can swim or fish there and maybe catch some small Perch. (Never let children play in stagnate pools of water) If you are going to drive down you will find a county park on the far side of the crossing where you can park.
Another option is Wheeler Branch Reservoir which is a better choice if the kids would like to catch fish, the reservoir has Perch, Bass and Catfish. They also have a picnic area, restrooms and a beach swim area. The reservoir is about ten minute drive and there is a small fee to enter.
The spring and fall climate is pure enjoyment and the winter climate is also mild. The winter temperature is usually in the 50-70 degree range. Our 'freeze spells' never last long. This is Texas, we can have a 40 degree day one day & a 70 degree the next! We rarely have snow and it melts quickly.

Our ranch’s most remote “Far Afield” house, Mata’Zamo is spacious both inside and out!
We waited over twenty years to buy Mata’Zamo, and you’ll see why before you even get to the end of the 1.1 mile driveway!

Mata’Zamo, Swahili for 'up high and far afield’, is completely surrounded by our ranch, is in our low-intensity use area, and close to some of our favorite trails and sunset spots. This means we have a place where you can truly get away from it all, surrounded by wildflower and grassy fields, perched on the edge of a cliff giving you a miles-wide vantage point over the edge of Texas Hill Country.

We completely restored the house to make it energy efficient (spelled C-O-O-L in our Texas summers!) and added an upstairs deck that catches great cross breezes, overlooks the cliffs and faces west. A great place to watch sunsets, clouds and stars! At Mata’Zamo you’ll find:

• A total of 1600 sq feet of living space (including the porches and decks) on two levels.

• Beds for 8 – 1 queen and 1 trundle bed (2 singles) upstairs, 2 sets of bunk beds downstairs.

• Dishes for 12, nicely equipped 'slow food' kitchen for cooking, preparing meals.

• An outdoor gas grill, with propane supplied.

• Indoor and porch tables easily seat 4-6 people each.

• An open floor plan- there are only 4 inside doors, two to the bathrooms, 1 to the kid’s bedroom (w/2 bunk beds) and 1 to the screened-in porch.

• The upstairs (with the queen and trundle beds in the open loft) has a half-bath, opens onto the deck, looks out onto the downstairs living area, no doors!

• The full bath with walk in shower room has all of the closets (so no need to lug your bags upstairs!) and laundry room.

• The adjacent 3 stall horse barn, 2 pens and a pasture are right out the door, along with miles of trails, but it’s bring your own horse!

• High speed internet is available.

Habari is close enough to the county road for quick trips to Fossil Rim’s Overlook and into Glen Rose, but far enough off the road for quiet and solitude.

Habari is a great starting point to explore our ranch's trails and ravines. Habari (“Hello! How are you? You are Welcome Here!” in Swahili) is a “cozy but elegant” (as one guest said!) ranch style house with:

Come and enjoy small town America. Our two street, quiet neighborhood has concrete roads, sidewalks, street lamps and all. This home is a 4 bed, 4 bath 2-story home. Two rooms are upstairs with their own individual en-suite bathrooms and separate staircases as well (the rooms do not connect at all- great for added privacy for multi families traveling). One upstairs room has a queen bed and large bathroom with full tub/shower. Other upstairs bedroom has two double beds and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs has the primary bedroom with a king size bed, large bathroom and large tiled walk-in shower. There’s also an additional twin bed, that is stored in the closet, that can be pulled out to accommodate a young child who may still want to sleep in mom and dad’s room! (My youngest was like that! Lol) The other downstairs bedroom has a twin bunk bed with a twin trundle and a full size bed. This room could accommodate 4-5 children easily. This room also has a connecting bathroom as well. Each room has its own bathroom which is great for privacy when traveling with others.
We have also provided a high chair, pack-n-play and small portable crib for convenience for those traveling with infants. 👶 🍼 As of right now, we don’t offer bedding for the small crib so we would ask that you bring that or we do have smaller blankets available in the hall closet closest to the laundry room. The home is listed as sleeping 10 people but you can easily fit up to 12-14 and we certainly don’t mind trying to accommodate larger groups whenever possible!
You can entertain all night long with an amazing outdoor area equipped with a propane fire pit 🔥 , rockers 🪑 , small propane grill, porch swing and outdoor yard games 🎲 . The outdoor space is completely fenced in to keep toddlers or pets 🐶 confined and safe while you enjoy relaxing at the end of the day. This size home will definitely sleep a couple families, comfortably.

Kasa Casa is our fun, offbeat, 'land-yacht' 2 bdrm/1.5 bath house for getaways and sanctuary. Located on hill country-like terrain with miles of trails, Kasa Casa offers perfect privacy for couples, small families, artists (studio next door), and anyone wanting a getaway, personal wellness/cleansing retreat, or me/us time.

Guests can see a small portion of the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center drive-through from the back yard, lucky visitors have seen giraffe browsing and zebras grazing!

This house was designed by a tinkerer and yacht builder! We’ve built a studio next door for musicians, yoga enthusiasts, dancers and others to use.

The main floor is an open area with the kitchen, conversation area, dining table and recently updated in partnership with Sanctuary for Life, a non-profit providing special care to caregivers. The hall leading to the upstairs also brings you to a half-bath and the laundry room area with an infra-red sauna.

Upstairs is the main bedroom with a door onto the sunshine deck, the full bath (shower only) and another living area with a wood-burning stove. The Crow’s Nest bedroom is perched over the living area.

There is covered parking, and a covered patio with a huge Fossil Stone table and bench and propane grill. Jill Sablosky limestone art benches grace the labyrinth area in the front yard. Tom Tischler's bronze, life-sized Galapagos Tortoise greets guests and provides The "Kasa" -Swahili for turtle - in Kasa Casa!

Kasa Casa is just under a mile off the county road which takes you to Fossil Rim’s Overlook and into Glen Rose, but far enough off the road for quiet and solitude.

Kasa Casa is a great starting point to explore the 26 miles of fossil-laden trails on our organically and sustainably managed 900-acre Ranch and Sanctuary.

At Kasa Casa you’ll find:

• Our most remote guest house, Mata’Zamo (see VRBO #3589655ha) has a 3-stall horse barn, 2 pens and a pasture right out the door, along with miles of trails. Our 5 bedroom house also has a pasture and covered shed, but it’s bring your own horse!
• High speed internet is available. Kasa Casa’s library reflects our interest in healthy living, sailing, nature, philosophy, wildlife and a healthy landscape.
• We have a total of four guest houses available, spread out across the ranch. Each one is unique enough to provide a very different experience, and can be rented together for large groups, retreats and workshops. Habari (VRBO #432534) is our biggest guest house, with 5 bedrooms and extra futons to sleep as many as 16, it is great for larger groups. Mata’zamo (VRBO# 3589655ha) sits on one of our most spectacular overlooks, is our most remote house, great for singles couples or a family that want to lose themselves in the outdoors.

Welcome to our House on the Hill in historic Glen Rose, Texas. Although our home is centrally located in town and minutes from most local attractions, you’ll be secluded and up on a hill where you can overlook nature. From board games to Cornhole to a firepit for making smores, we have thought of everything!
This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom ranch style home. There is a large living room area, a game room, a fully equipped kitchen, two large dining tables, a washer and dryer, and even a fenced yard perfect for young children and dogs.
The master bedroom has a king bed and private bathroom. There are three additional bedrooms. One offers a king bed, one has a queen bed and a third bedroom with a full size bed and twin bed. There are two additional bathrooms. The game room offers two full size futons perfect for younger guests.
The home sleeps 9 but we are happy to try to accommodate larger groups when possible.
This home is 3 minutes from the Somervell County Expo center and even offers room for parking a horse trailer or hooking up an RV, too!
You’ll be close to a variety of attractions, including the Somervell County Expo Center, the Paluxy River, Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, The Promise, and the Squaw Valley Golf Course.

One of the more unique, authentic and somewhat rustic rooms you will stay in. The bathroom is like being outside in a rock waterfall shower. You will sleep in a custom made cedar four post bed. Opens up to a great courtyard with rod iron tables and chairs. Walking distance to the downtown square. Great for a couple get away.

One of the best town squares in the state! Glen Rose is home to the Brazos River and Paluxy River. So many great restaurants to choose.

Very secure, private and scenic guesthouse casitas that are connected by a private Jack & Jill bath (stand up shower). One bedroom has a full-size bed and is set up strictly as a bedroom and the second bedroom has a twin bed (with an additional twin blowup mattress). The second room also has a new microwave and Keurig coffee maker along with a small dining table for work or games/puzzles that are provided. I have also provided an additional office chair. The rooms and the space are very cozy.

The space
You will have two covered parking spots if needed and a full-size, outdoor refrigerator/freezer if more space is needed. Outdoor dining table is also accessible to my guests. There is also a children's play area and treehouse. The property is also secured by an automatic gate and if you prefer it to be shut at night, I can provide you with a remote. I am on an acre and a half so feel free to roam the property!

I will provide you with a key upon arrival on the inside table along with the gate remote. Although they connect by a Jack and Jill bath inside, each casita has its own private, secured door to enter or exit each bedroom to the outside space. Although, the bathroom is in the middle of the two rooms, you DO NOT share with anyone else...only the people in your party have access. The bathroom is exclusive and private to you.

We are pet friendly but require a non-refundable deposit per pet, depending on type and size. Please inform me of the size, breed, if they are crated and if they will be left in the rooms unattended. I provide puppy waste bags for your convenience.

The heat/air is installed in the "Master" room and in extreme temps, it may be necessary to leave both bathroom doors open when not in use for maximum comfort. I have also installed new ceiling fans and have an additional fan in the bathroom closet and an additional heater in the drawer under the games/puzzles.

Finally, if you need more room for garbage, I have three containers by my side door off of my house on the other side of the carport from your casitas. Feel free to use the one closest to my house with the bag in it.

The onsite 'nature path' is a work in progress. It needs lots of cleaning & clearing but still worth the walk. Property is fenced & nothing really dangerous although there is always the possibility of a snake so keep an eye out. There are thorns so be mindful. Bedroom 1: Queen-sized bed with memory foam gel mattress, nightstands with lamps, and a small fan. Snuggle up in bed and catch up on your latest Netflix shows on the 40” Smart TV. Blackout curtains can be drawn shut for a little extra shuteye.

Bedroom 2: Twin over Full Bunk Bed, both with Memory Foam Gel Mattresses. The kids in the family will feel right at home. Closet space available for hanging clothes or tucking away suitcases. Cozy reading corner for catching up on your favorite book.

Bathroom: Everything you need to get ready for the day, or to wash it away. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and a hair dryer are provided. Our bathtub is perfect for families with kids or for those wishing to relax.

Kitchen/Dining: Fully stocked kitchen with all new appliances, a variety of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils so you can whip up a meal for the family or a romantic dinner for two. Enjoy the coffee bar with everything you need to make the perfect cup of coffee. Plastic dishes are available for the younger members of the family. Enjoy sitting down to eat at the table with room for up to 6 or grab a quick bite at the counter that seats 4.

Living: Pop some Popcorn and get comfy on the power reclining sofa. Enjoy watching your favorite shows on the 50” Smart TV. Feel like going low tech? Grab a game, puzzle, or deck of cards from the bookshelf. Younger guests will be pleasantly surprised when they discover a cabinet full of toys under the TV.

Laundry: A brand new washer and dryer will make you want to extend your stay when you realize you can never run out of clean clothes. Laundry Detergent and Dryer Sheets are available for use.

Back Deck, Firepit, and Grilling area: Enjoy a meal or coffee outside on the back deck or make s’mores around the firepit! Outdoor games and river chairs can be found in the storage bin on the deck. Get creative at our rock painting station located on the right side of the shed (paints are inside by the sliding door). Find Cactus Bluff on the map and grab a great photo opp!

Guest access
Our guests have full access to our property, which is marked by stakes on each side, and runs from the Street down to the Paluxy River. Stair access is available and just a short walk to the river. River chairs can be found in the outside storage bin on the back deck and floats are on the left side of the shed. Enjoy!

This is a Bed & Breakfast, so if you rent 1 bedroom all of the other areas are common and may be shared with other guests.
Decorated with western artwork froma local artist. Each room is unique. The house has a lot of knotty pine on the walls and ceiling for a big cabin feel. Located on the top of a hill facing Banard St, always a breeze. In the middle of town, 3 blks to the downtown square. Lots of room to stretch out in the yard, several sitting areas covered and open.

Guest have access to the living room, game room, dinning room, limited kitchen, courtyard, all of yard, newly added pavilion with fun decorations and an outdoor kitchen, hot tub.

I am always here to greet the guest upon arrival and I am usually in the office most of the day on premises. Guests can always call, text, or email me if I am not here.

We are a Bed & Breakfast, so you are renting 1 private bedroom & private bathroom, all other areas are common and may be shared with other guests. We do live on site, but give you plenty of space.
