Other than that the appartment was good, it had a kitchinet and a washer machine (no dryer, shame we got wet under the rain and had no way to dry our clothes). The other issue was the swimming pool. They include a swimming pool picture and we thought it was part of the facility. The pool is by the beach, a few blocks away from the appartment. This is not a service included in the rental. "

We gathered on the terrace of the lower apartment for amazing views of the lake. The kitchen was very well equipped, enabling us to cook meals on several evenings. How wonderful to have A/C throughout - it was essential in the heatwave. The property manager Jennifer was incredibly responsive and very helpful making arrangements for us. We enjoyed walking down to the ferry (20 mins - longer on the way up!). The Convent exceeded expectations - highly recommended."

It's a bright and welcoming environment with colorful touches. Situated in a good neighborhood, just a few meters away from groceries, bakeries, restaurants and the nearest public boat's jetty is 10 minutes away by feet.
The apartment can comfortably accommodate 6 people. We wanted to spend a few days nearer to Como town and Cernobbio proved to be a cracking location and this apartment matched that. It was clean, well equipped and the air con was a blessing during the recent heat wave. Getting around was easy, relatively short walk to the lake shore and ferry to drop into Como. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and places to chill-out. Our hostess Chris was fantastic! Unlike many other spots at the lake it had A/C in each room and the living room, the whole place felt modern, taken care of and the furniture and decor made it feel like the perfect place to enjoy Lake Como. I especially enjoyed using the binoculars to observe the lake, towns and moon. You’ll definitely need a car to get here and go down into town, the curves can be a bit adventurous at first but after driving up and down a few times it becomes second nature and fun! Location is amazing, Cernobbio has so much to offer and you’re only a 10 minute drive away from Como. Veronica and the Rent team were attentive, kind and quick to respond. We felt like a part of this small town, the neighbors are locals and were all really friendly. The church nearby is gorgeous, there are hikes, pasta classes and so many other things we wouldn’t have discovered had we not stayed here. The trash system needs to be learned and understood since it’s got so many colors and categories but this is the case everywhere in Italy due to their trash collection system. We strongly recommend it and would love to come back."

- "We ended up staying at this house and the property next door because of a electrical issue (a nuisance rather than a safety issue). Both were very nice properties with some features that were slightly different but overall you couldn't go wrong with, as Dr. Seuss would say, "House 1" or "House 2". We enjoyed the neighborhood and liked the fact that we could walk to and from town (good exercise on the way up the hill!) or take an exhilarating, but safe ride up and down the hairpin turns. Cernobbio is a characteristic lakeside town 7 km from the city of Como and near the Swiss border. Cernobbio is home to some of the most famous villas on Lake Como, such as Villa d\'Este and Villa Erba. The town center of Cernobbio is within walking distance.

GETTING AROUND

For the convenience of guests, we recommend arriving by car.

Travel to and from Cernobbio is also quite manageable with public transportation. Numerous bus lines connect to the city of Como and other lakeside towns. Tickets can be purchased from the driver (cash only) or at designated sales points in Cernobbio or Como. Please note that buses do not run very frequently and the service stops around 10:00 PM! Taxis are available but not easily accessible in the region.

Another option is to take the ferry from the lakeside dock to reach Como and other nearby locations. Schedules and tickets are available on the Navigazione Laghi website.

From Como, it is easy to reach Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno) by train. Public ferries also depart from the central pier in Como to other lakeside towns.

The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. A direct shuttle to and from the airport can be arranged at an additional cost.

TIPS

If you feel like walking, the center of Como is within walking distance. The walk takes less than an hour. Take the main road to Villa Olmo, then there is a pedestrian path along the lake.

To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the small towns, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes.

There are many public fountains in the towns and the water is drinkable unless otherwise indicated. Tap water is also drinkable. You can bring your refillable bottle with you!

From Cernobbio, there are many hiking opportunities in the nearby woods, up to Monte Bisbino.

If you are looking for an easy hike in the area and still want to enjoy the mountain views, the Greenway del Lago di Como is an easy-to-follow path that does not require too much climbing. The Greenway passes through the towns from Colonno to Griante. From Cernobbio, you can reach the starting point in Colonno by bus. Another pleasant and relaxing hiking trail in the area is the Via Verde, which connects Moltrasio to Laglio.

In Italy, many shops (especially small ones) and services close at midday, so be sure to plan your shopping accordingly.

Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who want to take a dip in the water, however, there are some options. In Cernobbio, the lake\'s Lido has a swimming pool. In nearby Moltrasio, there is a small beach. In the city of Como, there is an outdoor swimming pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is mostly discouraged or prohibited. Locals and visitors also love to go to Nesso, where the more adventurous can dive into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps may not seem very high, but the climate is still influenced by the nearby mountains and temperatures can change quickly. Pay particular attention to weather conditions during hikes and bring warm and waterproof clothing!

GETTING AROUND

Travelling to and from Cernobbio is also quite easy with public transport. There are many ASF Autolinee bus lines connecting Cernobbio to Como city and other lakeside towns. Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places in Cernobbio and Como. Please note that the buses don\'t run very often and services stop at around 10 pm! Taxi rides are available, but not easily attainable in the region.

Another option is to take the ferry from the pier on the lakefront and travel to Como and other nearby locations. Timetables and tickets are available on the Navigazione Laghi website.

From Como, it is easy to travel to Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno) by train. There are also public ferries traveling to other lakeside towns from the pier in Como center.

The nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. It is possible to arrange a direct shuttle to and from the airport at an additional cost.

>If you feel like walking, Como city center is actually a walking distance away. The walk takes less than an hour. Take the big road till Villa Olmo, and then there is a lakeside pedestrian path.

>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.

>There are many public drinking-water fountains in the little towns, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!

>From Cernobbio, there are many nearby hiking options in the woods (even to Monte Bisbino!).

>If you are looking for an easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is an easy-to-follow trail that doesn\'t require too much walking uphill. The Greenway goes through the little towns from Colonno to Griante. From Cernobbio, you can get to the starting point in Colonno by bus. Another pleasant and laid-back hiking path in the area is Via Verde which connects Moltrasio to Laglio.

>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.

>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. In Cernobbio, the lakeside Lido has a swimming pool. In nearby Moltrasio, there is a little beach. In Como city, there is an outdoor pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is mostly not recommended or forbidden. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

>Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!
