Unlike many other spots at the lake it had A/C in each room and the living room, the whole place felt modern, taken care of and the furniture and decor made it feel like the perfect place to enjoy Lake Como. You’ll definitely need a car to get here and go down into town, the curves can be a bit adventurous at first but after driving up and down a few times it becomes second nature and fun! Location is amazing, Cernobbio has so much to offer and you’re only a 10 minute drive away from Como. Veronica and the Rent team were attentive, kind and quick to respond. We felt like a part of this small town, the neighbors are locals and were all really friendly. The church nearby is gorgeous, there are hikes, pasta classes and so many other things we wouldn’t have discovered had we not stayed here. The trash system needs to be learned and understood since it’s got so many colors and categories but this is the case everywhere in Italy due to their trash collection system. We strongly recommend it and would love to come back."

Cernobbio is a characteristic lakeside town 7 km from the city of Como and near the Swiss border. Cernobbio is home to some of the most famous villas on Lake Como, such as Villa d\'Este and Villa Erba. The town center of Cernobbio is within walking distance.

GETTING AROUND

For the convenience of guests, we recommend arriving by car.

Travel to and from Cernobbio is also quite manageable with public transportation. Numerous bus lines connect to the city of Como and other lakeside towns. Tickets can be purchased from the driver (cash only) or at designated sales points in Cernobbio or Como. Please note that buses do not run very frequently and the service stops around 10:00 PM! Taxis are available but not easily accessible in the region.

Another option is to take the ferry from the lakeside dock to reach Como and other nearby locations. Schedules and tickets are available on the Navigazione Laghi website.

From Como, it is easy to reach Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno) by train. Public ferries also depart from the central pier in Como to other lakeside towns.

The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. A direct shuttle to and from the airport can be arranged at an additional cost.

TIPS

If you feel like walking, the center of Como is within walking distance. The walk takes less than an hour. Take the main road to Villa Olmo, then there is a pedestrian path along the lake.

To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the small towns, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes.

There are many public fountains in the towns and the water is drinkable unless otherwise indicated. Tap water is also drinkable. You can bring your refillable bottle with you!

From Cernobbio, there are many hiking opportunities in the nearby woods, up to Monte Bisbino.

If you are looking for an easy hike in the area and still want to enjoy the mountain views, the Greenway del Lago di Como is an easy-to-follow path that does not require too much climbing. The Greenway passes through the towns from Colonno to Griante. From Cernobbio, you can reach the starting point in Colonno by bus. Another pleasant and relaxing hiking trail in the area is the Via Verde, which connects Moltrasio to Laglio.

In Italy, many shops (especially small ones) and services close at midday, so be sure to plan your shopping accordingly.

Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who want to take a dip in the water, however, there are some options. In Cernobbio, the lake\'s Lido has a swimming pool. In nearby Moltrasio, there is a small beach. In the city of Como, there is an outdoor swimming pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is mostly discouraged or prohibited. Locals and visitors also love to go to Nesso, where the more adventurous can dive into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps may not seem very high, but the climate is still influenced by the nearby mountains and temperatures can change quickly. Pay particular attention to weather conditions during hikes and bring warm and waterproof clothing!

- "The layout was nice for the four of us to have some space apart from each other. The amenities were very modern and pretty. The location is right down the road from Ville d'Este which is where we needed to be. We needed three beds and were surprised to find that the third bed was a fold out couch in the living room, which made the living room unavailable to the rest of us much of the time. The two air conditioners are located in the hallways and are very cool, but the air really doesn't cool off the sleeping areas, at least not in July. There's little privacy as all of the doors to the bedrooms are clear glass. My teen felt uncomfortable using the toilet as the glass on the bathroom door is a smoky tint only. He didnt want us seeing the outline of his body as he used the toilet."

The apartment consists of a spacious living room, divided into two areas: the TV area, with a large and comfortable sofa that becomes a double bed for the night (Please note: the sofa bed is not prepared, we think it is proper to use the sofa during non-sleeping hours. You will find sheets, pillows and blankets in the closet/shelf most adjacent to the sofa); the dining area, with a table for 4 where you can have lunch and dinner together. Opposite, there is the fully equipped kitchen with appliances and everything you need to cook just like at home: try your hand at the stove with local products you can buy at the grocery stores in town, or at the market in the Riva on Wednesday mornings!

This cozy three-bedroom apartment is spacious and ideal for families thanks to its two bedrooms, one double and one twin room with twin beds, both furnished with capacious closets to store everyone's wardrobe.

There are two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a shower, providing privacy and comfort for the whole group.
Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided.

LA CASA DI NICE is the perfect starting point to experience the small and lovely center of Cernobbio, visit Lake Como and its main resorts and reach Como Centro in only 10 to 15 minutes by car, or more conveniently by bus or boat. In addition, the apartment is also ideal for attending the many Fairs at Villa Erba (Orticolario, Proposte, Comocrea Textile Design Show) and reaching Switzerland in a few minutes. In a 1-minute walk you'll reach the historic center of Cernobbio, with its Riva, the famous Villa d'Este, bars, small restaurants and elegant stores. Have breakfast at the excellent Pasticceria Poletti, have lunch at the famous restaurant Harry's Bar, eat a fresh ice cream at Sottozero, have a snack or aperitif at the bar Anagramma (run by the guys from Associazione Cometa). For a relaxing break, explore the Valley Garden, a wonderful garden with numerous plant species, Mediterranean and tropical, tended by a group of volunteers. With the boat you can visit the picturesque villages of the lake: Blevio, Torno, Moltrasio, Argegno, the Comacina Island, Ossuccio, and get as far as Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna.

If you love trekking or mountain biking, from Cernobbio you can reach the Cross of Man: at the top and along part of the trail you will find aphorisms and wood carvings by Giò Aramini! Continuing along the Swiss border, you can enter along the Sentiero del Viulin and you can reach the summit of Mount Bisbino, from which you can start the 1st stage of the long Via dei Monti Lariani (Cernobbio - San Fedele Intelvi).

How to get there:

By car, from the A9 highway take the “Como Lago” exit and set your GPS: in just 5 minutes you'll reach the apartment.

By train, from Como San Giovanni station take bus C10 for 7 stops and get off at “Cernobbio - Mazzini” stop, or walk to “Como - S. Rocchetto” stop and take bus No. 6 for 11 stops and get off at “Cernobbio - Mazzini” stop. From here on foot in 1 minute you will reach the apartment.
