Rainbow Reach cabin is an original golf course cabin that we have extended to make beautifully spacious and liveable. It is flooded with light and has a luxurious country feel.

Rainbow Reach accommodates four people comfortably, promising a relaxing stay for a couple, family or small group of friends. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a spacious living area with kitchen and dining, and timber decks front and back.

The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and an ensuite with a freestanding bathtub, and the second bedroom has two king single beds. The living area looks through large windows to the lovely expanse of green lawn out the front and views through the Casurina trees to the escarpment. There is a spacious wrap-around deck at the front, and a sweet verandah at the back, so that you can find a sunny or shady spot year-round for relaxing with a coffee and a book. We have planted a pretty garden that has grown up really nicely since the photos were taken, which makes the back verandah particularly lovely on a slow afternoon.

There is reverse cycle air conditioning, satellite WiFi, a smart TV (BYO streaming), and a nice big sound bar for music.

We have a 2 night minimum stay, except on long weekends when we prefer a 3 night minimum.

About the resort …

The cabin is set within the Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country club, a beautiful golf resort set on about 150 acres just outside Kangaroo Valley village. It has an 18-hole championship golf course spread over undulating hills with spectacular views. You don't have to play golf to enjoy the cabin - we don't play and we love it here.

While the cabin is privately owned, it has unfettered access to the Resort’s facilities: tennis courts, BBQs, volley ball court, giant chess and swimming pool – all an easy stroll from the cabin. The cabin is set back from the golf course, with a big grassy expanse between, great for children. It is close to one of the tennis courts, with a gas BBQ across the lawn, and is a short level walk to the Club house where you can book for golf.

About Kangaroo Valley …

The historic picturesque village of Kangaroo Valley is hidden away two hours’ drive south of Sydney. The valley is mainly farmland and bushland with pockets of rainforest, surrounded by dramatic cliffs. It is very beautiful all year round, particularly at sunset when the cliffs glow in the setting sun. The valley gets its name from the mobs of Kangaroos that live there. They love the lush grass on our golf course and you can see families of kangaroos feasting on the greens in the early morning and as night falls. There are also lots of wombats trundling around on their stubby legs. They are not at all shy and often wander past the cabin at dusk. One in particular likes to live under it sometimes!

The village of Kangaroo Valley offers cafes, restaurants, an historic pub with good food and a great beer garden, and homeware and gift shops. There is a large local pool for hot summer days, a woodworkers shop and a Pioneer museum. The Kangaroo River runs through the valley and is a perfect spot for picnics, swimming and kayaking.

Kangaroo Valley is a short drive from both the Southern Highlands and the South Coast. The delightful town of Berry is a 30 minute drive away over a spectacular mountain pass. And Jervis Bay is around an hour away, perfect for a day trip.

The Space:
Located in Kangaroo Valley just a 2-hour drive south of Sydney, this picturesque valley offers the perfect getaway for a weekend or short holiday. This fully self-contained sleeps up to 4 Adults comfortably.
There is a spacious queen bedroom and single bunks just outside the bedroom for the extra guests.
The kitchen dining and lounge are in an open plan layout onto the large deck with views over the golf course. Complete with all the modern conveniences of a Nespresso machine, cooktop, oven, microwave, and fully self-contained kitchen as well as a BBQ on the deck.

The Golf course is originally designed by Jack Newton, it has been extended to provide the discerning golfer with 18 holes of enjoyment on our Championship 71 par course. Although not long at 5775 metres from the back markers, the course is quite testing for even the best golfers with undulating fairways, testing greens and dams coming into play on quite a few holes. Getting Around:
There are two ways from Sydney, we have found option 2 to be the quicker way.
1.Scenic coast road, take the M1 and follow the signs from Berry to Kangaroo Valley.
2.Country drive, follow the M5 motor way to Mittagong and take the Bowral/Mittagong turnoff, from Bowral follow the signs to Nowra/Fitzroy Falls from Fitzroy Falls to Kangaroo Valley.(approx. ½ hour from Bowral to Kangaroo Valley). When you arrive at the entrance to the village, past the bridge, you will see a turning to the right signed for Mt Scanzi Road and Kangaroo Valley Country Club. The entrance to the property is approx. 5km along this road Total journey approx. 2 hours depending on the traffic out of Sydney.

The Tailor’s Terrace , Kangaroo Valley is located behind the Tailor’s Cottage in an elevated position to take in beautiful views of Kangaroo Valley.

The modern architecturally designed home is located in the heart of the Kangaroo Valley village. It is set back from the road and is very private.

The house has a timber floors through, fully equipt kitchen with marble bench top, three bathrooms, two large decks with wonderful views and the house is supplied with everything you need to have a relaxing break.

Space

The Tailor’s Terrace is a modern, light and airy home with 2-bedrooms & 3 bathrooms located in the heart of the Kangaroo Valley Village. Experience all the village has to offer with just a very short walk (100m) to the village cafes, restaurants, hotel and more.
The large master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a queen and single bed. Both bedrooms have spacious bathrooms and direct access to the front deck with wonderful views.
In addition a cot/ toddler bed can be provided in either room if needed.
The open plan living, kitchen and dining room looks out to a large private top deck that’s the prefect place for a BBQ while enjoying the great views of the escarpments that Kangaroo Valley is famous for.
The house is perfectly suited for two couple’s to enjoy or for families to have a relaxing break.

Guests will have full access to the home. 2 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, open plan living/dinning/kitchen and car space for one car. Outdoor space includes: front garden, Lower and upper decks, back deck and back yard.

Neighbourhood overview

The Terrace is located in the heart of the Kangaroo Valley Village. It is within the heritage precinct just opposite the Historic court house building, behind the Tailors cottage. Osbourne park, Oval, children’s playground and village 25m swimming pool are directly across the road. The village cafes, shops, restaurants and hotel are all a very short walk (100m). Kangaroo Valley is uniquely situated between the beautiful villages of the southern highland and the incredible beaches of Jervis Bay. Making Kangaroo Valley the ideal location to base yourself to explore both uniquely beautiful regions. We provide our ‘locals guide’ in the house for suggested day trips and great restaurants within our region.

• Have your morning coffee watching the wildlife beyond the back fence. We are often visited by Kangaroos, echidnas and beautiful birds.

Getting around

Walking is a great way to explore the village. Everything is within walking distance of our home. A car is needed to come in and out of Kangaroo Valley as public transport is limited.

Cuddle with our adorable goats and mini donkeys, and collect eggs from our wonderful free ranging chooks!

Banksia is set on a working chicken farm in the heart of Kangaroo Valley, NSW. The tiny home is architecturally designed featuring an outdoor bath that makes you feel like you are floating out to the dam. *Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission.

*This home is a strictly no-smoking property. If any of our cleaners find any form of cigarette ash, butts or smell cigarettes in the apartment, we could issue a $500 fine.

*This is a domestic residence and we love our neighbours. We do not allow loitering or loud noise outside of the premises or inside of the premises. We ask for minimal noise especially after 9 pm.

*STRA Rules - By booking this home you automatically agree to all the STRA terms and conditions that are applicable to guests. You also agree that if you do break any of the house rules you will be asked to leave and no refund of the unused nightly rates will be returned.

*Check-in/Check-out - We cannot stress enough the importance of checking out on time. Our regular check-in time is after 3 pm and check-out time is before to 10 am. If you wish to have an earlier check-in or later check-out, please reach out to us first. Please note, there may be a charge.

* Pets - We are a pet-friendly property. We ask all our guests to contact us for approval of pets before booking and include your request in the reservation form as there is a pet fee of $75 per stay to cover the cost of extra cleaning and disinfection. Please do not allow your pets to go on the furniture.

*All pets need to be kept on a leash at all times when outside. There is no fence on the property around the cottage and wildlife is common around the area that may wander onto the property, including other dogs.

Farmhouse style double Dutch doors provide a unique light filled entry. Open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area with cathedral ceilings and a pot-belly fireplace - firewood provided from May to September - for those cool winter nights. The fully equipped kitchen boasts new gas appliances, a coffee machine and everything you need to cook or bake, while the outdoor barbeque provides for relaxed dining. Twobedrooms superbly appointed to help you enjoy a peaceful retreat. The cottage has spectacular open rural views from every room and French doors leading out to a large entertaining deck as well as a small deck to soak up some tranquillity and privacy. The modern bathroom includes a large walk-in walk-out shower and a cast iron free-standing bath with lovely views across the property and beyond.
The property contains two dams, with yabby nets provided should you wish to have some fun catching them. The land is mostly cleared and includes an orchard with a variety of fruit trees as well as a gully running down the length of the property. There are many areas to explore and the elevated position provides views across to the classic Kangaroo Valley backdrop of rolling hills and mountains. Wildlife on the property includes resident wombats, kangaroos and wallabies, echidnas and even deer as well as an abundance of birdlife.
Maple Cottage is ideal for a luxurious stay providing privacy and a little country charm with quality inclusions. Yet it is only five kilometres to Kangaroo Valley village and 15 minutes to Berry. The pristine south coast beaches are also easily accessible from Maple Cottage.
While there is another house located on the same property the owners do not use it while guests are at the cottage so you will have the whole property to yourself.
Maple Cottage is not suitable for children under 12 and does not allow pets.

From Sydney via Princes Highway

Follow Princes Highway through Sutherland on to Wollongong then continue along Princes Highway to Berry. At the end of the Berry residential area sign board on the right "Kangaroo Valley 19 kilometres" Follow into Kangaroo Valley turning right towards Moss Vale. Continue through Kangaroo Valley village and then first left is Mount Scanzi Road. There is a large panel sign on this corner for Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country resort. From Canberra

Head toward Sydney, continue to Hume Highway, pass Goulburn. Then turn right at the Illawarra Highway (Approx 40 mins after Goulburn) and continue approx. 18 minutes to Nowra Road. Turn right into Nowra Road and follow signs to Fitzroy Falls/Nowra and this will bring you into Kangaroo Valley. ECOLUXE is a term we coined to describe Jingella Estate. Where will I be?

Maddys is located at the Barrengarry end of Kangaroo Valley. It is just a couple of minutes drive to the village over the historic Hampden Bridge to the local shops, restaurants and pub. Many Southern Highlands wedding venues and towns are a short drive away.

If you are looking for a country getaway, but don’t want to feel too far from civilisation, Maddys is the perfect place for you. How is the property laid out?

The 2 bedrooms have queen beds with the master bedroom having its own ensuite. Both bathrooms have a walk in shower and a toilet and have been renovated to give a stylish, modern feel.

The open plan living area has a wood fire. The kitchen is fully equipped, including an espresso coffee machine and dishwasher. The dining area has a dining table and there are various doors that open onto the beautiful verandah that wraps around the house.

The Property
Relax and take in the golden escarpment and valley views from the outdoor sofa under the covered patio. Cook up a sumptuous meal on the Ziegler & Brown BBQ or in our fully-equipped spacious kitchen. Move on to the super-comfy sofas by the open log fireplace (winter) and still enjoy the views. After dark, grab the marshmallows and try the outdoor fire pit and stargaze with almost no artificial light. Retire to your bedroom, with its private ensuite, for a country-silent sleep. In the morning, grab a coffee, lie in bed with a book and take in the views of the escarpment and wildlife from the full- length window. During the day, enjoy any number of walks or runs around the vast 146 acre estate and keep your eye out for a range of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, foxes, echidnas, deer, goats and loads of birds. For the fit, walk down the trail through the forest to the creek to explore over a kilometre of creek frontage and enjoy the Olympic-size natural swimming hole in the creek.

Access is via the Golf Resort, past the pro shop and restaurant, turn right past the carpark, head towards the golf cabins. Turn left on the T intersection towards the swimming pool. We are the 3rd cabin on the left; Midway between the swimming pool area/tennis courts and the T intersection.

Nestled in our citrus and nut orchard is the 'Captain's Cabin'. A hideaway in your own private section of the garden, with an amazing outdoor bath, ample cooking facilities inside and out, and fire pit, not to mention a comfortable queen bed with natural linen and towels, it's your base for the perfect Kangaroo Valley escape. A 5 minute walk from the village centre and 50m from the cycle and walking path, it's the perfect location too. Coffee machine, record player and provisions included.

The space
The cabin was initially refurbished using recycled materials where possible, as a place for my dad (The Captain) to stay when he visited for extended periods from the UK, but during recent times we have decided to welcome other guests .

There are a few records to play on the record player but you can also browse The Nostalgia Factory and Halcyon Books in Kangaroo Valley to get your own secondhand records to play.

HEATING & FIRE PIT
There is a panel heater inside which provides a nice even warmth without being too hot - just cosy. It's an eco heater so you can leave it on overnight if you like.

There is an electric blanket to use on the bed and hot water bottles provided.

The fire pit on the pebbles next to the deck is a perfect way to unwind in the cooler months. We provide a welcome box of wood and kindling. Extra bags are available at the service station in Kangaroo Valley and at Glenmack Park just across the road. If the weather is unsuitable for a fire due to hot, dry or windy conditions we will take the fire pit out of the way.

COOLING
During summer, you can lie on the sun bed or hammock in your own private shady garden and watch the birds come and go, and then pour yourself a cool bath. A fan is provided during summer but there is no air-conditioning. The nut and mulberry trees shade the cabin well in summer. Across the road at the Kangaroo Valley Showground, is the local swimming pool which is a lovely place to cool down and take in the scenery and the river under the Hampden Bridge is a short drive or bike ride and a great place to swim and cool down.

COOKING
Inside you have a kitchenette with a convection microwave, a kettle, coffee machine, toaster and toasted sandwich machine. Outside on the deck there is a two burner gas cooktop with wok burner and a large sink for the dishes. During winter you can pick the Rangpur Limes from the tree out the window to put in your drinks and use in cooking and for a few weeks over summer pick the mulberries hanging by the deck.

There is decent mobile phone reception and 4G/5G coverage. There is no wifi provided.

From the back garden the views of the breathtaking, ancient sandstone escarpment framed by the tall gums is a view to wonder at.
Enjoy a glass of wine in the garden by the outdoor fire beneath the light of the moon and the millions of stars.

Guest access
Guests are able to use the back garden near the fire pit to enjoy a drink or light meal. Guests are asked not to enter the private residence of the host.

When parking your vehicle, please park car FRONT to VISITORS PARKING sign for easy reversing out of driveway.

Guests are requested not to use the Studio 12 car parking space as a car wash facility.

Wash, wipe and put away all used dishes and cutlery.
Do not leave leftovers in fridge.

Friendly horses, a welcoming dog, and other pets are ready to greet you, and the glasshouse offers a tranquil space to relax amongst the scribbly gums and sheoaks. You might even be lucky enough to spot the rare glossy black cockatoos during your stay.

There is a small kitchenette with an induction cook top frypan, microwave, kettle and toaster as well as an outdoor BBQ. All linen and towels supplied along with Shampoo Conditioner and Bodywash/Soap and Plunger Coffee and teas and small milk, all for your use.
The property is only a few minutes drive into the township for breakfast, lunch or dinner OR to the refreshing waters of the Kangaroo Valley River for a swim or Kayak.

Guests have the entire place to themselves, however there is a house on the same property a few hundred meters away where we live or have other guests reside.
The area is very private and secluded, not seeing or hearing others , however being mindful that there are other people on the property at times.
Please be sure to know that you choose to walk around the property at your own risk as there is uneven ground, loose stones, slippery surfaces and possibly snakes on the property. You are completely aware of these possible hazards when you book and agree to the guidelines and terms, therefore hosts are not responsible for any injuries incurred.

Other things to note
The private natural flowing creek is a peaceful place to sit or walk and wildlife and birdlife are often abundant on the property and neighbouring properties.
There are many uneven and rocky surfaces, bush steps and bush tracks with hazards and possibly snakes, therefore walking on the property in the surrounds are done at your own risk, in flat enclosed shoes.
If you would like an outdoor fire throughout your stay {as long as it is not a fire ban} please note it is your responsibility to purchase a bag or two of timber from the Kangaroo Valley service station and collecting sticks is a risk, due to snakes in leaf litter, so you do so at your own risk and hosts are not responsible for any injury or bites.
Please respect the environment which surrounds you and please DO NOT pull living branches off the trees or shrubs or and do not throw fire coals in bush.

Other things to note
Please do not feed any of our animals' bread, including the horses, fish, birds, chooks or wildlife. Apples and carrots are fine though. Refrain from going into the paddock with the horses as the youngster is still in training.
Exploring the property is at your OWN RISK, as there are uneven and slippery surfaces, rolling stones, falling branches, wildlife, including snakes and spiders among sticks and leaf litter. The use of the fire pit is contingent on weather conditions, strictly prohibited during total fire bans and hot, windy summer nights. By making a reservation, you acknowledge that you are opting for an experience in the Australian native bush, where numerous animals, including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums, birds, insects, and native marsupials, inhabit the surroundings of the cabin and may approach or enter the premises if doors are left open.
