- "Our multi generational family stayed in this house for 3 nights and our experience was fantastic! Beautiful views, the covered patio is so great during the daily rains - we basically lived out there when we weren’t sleeping. The property has AC in all 5 bedrooms and main floor. The upstairs TV area does not have AC but there are lots of windows and fans available, but if you are like us, nobody was watching any TV, we’d rather be outside on the patio or in the hot tub. Wi-Fi worked great. The home is fully stocked, kitchens, baths, laundry etc… owner/manager was very responsive by text when one of the bedroom AC quit working, he found us an immediate resolution. The property is located very close to several public beaches, el yunque National park, shops/restaurants etc… but then is beautifully quiet in the evenings. Lots of nature around (lizards), a few inside and lots outside. Never a problem, they are just present all over in PR. Would absolutely rent here again!! Your Private space (3000sq feet) is a bright and spacious second level unit in a two unit house. You will have access through the Private Entrance up the stairs on the back side of the house. We are Located in a gated community just minutes from several of the island's most beautiful beaches and El Yunque Rainforest.

*The other unit is downstairs and smaller, accommodating up to 4 ppl, it is called "Garden Hideaway". It is available for whole house rentals sleeping up to 14 people.

Come live on "Island Time" with fun coastal décor and ocean views. Be enchanted by the song of the Coqui while you relax on the balcony on the porch swing, or lounging in the Adirondack chairs. A peaceful and fun trip for the whole family!

Shared spaces on the property are - the patio with the laundry, and the side yard next to the house. Take a walk in the yard and find, coconuts, passion fruit and avocados when in season.

When inside you will find a ton of space for everyone with two large bedrooms both having King size beds, a fun and unique built in bunk room with 4 twin beds. There is an extra large living area and dining area combined equipped with a large television, a game table, a pool table and a long family dining table. And as you enter the living space you will see the large kitchen to your left with a large island for gathering and cooking and lots of storage space, and two sinks.

Then head outside and enjoy the large wrap around balcony with beautiful views of the neighborhood and peak-a-boo views of Luquillo and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Listen to the sounds of the rain forest, like some Endemic Birds (found only in Puerto Rico) and the song of the Coqui. There are also some free roaming chickens and roosters as well as the neighbors flock. You may also see some local Iguana's and the neighborhood cats roaming about.

- "We stayed for 4 days coming from Florida with a family of 5. The place was clean, AC was cold and water got hot. There were so many things that were already there that I wasnt expecting...cooler, ice packs, shower stuff, balls for the yard etc. We really enjoyed our stay. The host was great and attentive. About Luquillo: It is also so close to the kiosks! We were told that they may be closed monday and tuesday, but we went on monday and most the shops were open. Great food! The bakery at the end of the street is really good too, but is slow so make sure to give yourself plenty of time. Luquillo beach was secluded and peaceful and about 5 minutes away. Amigo Store is also just a 3 minute drive or so and had everything we needed. We reccomend fishing with Konklma Charters in fajardo."

We kept saying how nice this was to have places to relax and not be on top of each other (like at a hotel). To have use of a fridge for leftovers and to do some little shopping. The shower was so refreshing after being at the beach, a hot trip to Old San Juan, a trek through the rainforest. Shayna’s neighbors are so kind and welcoming and made sure to know Puerto Rico welcomes us. We loved the view of the flag and the mountains from the porch. The restaurants around Luquillo are so wonderful. We never got the same one. I can’t say enough for the communication with Shayna and any questions we had during our stay. We will be back!!"

The greatest thing about this property is the outdoor living area next to a small pool and bubble tub. Has a high top that sets six, hammock to relax and large sectional couch. Barbecue grill is there for your use. A few minute drive to nice quiet beaches, stores, pharmacies, many restaurants to choose from. Gorgeous apartment located on an upper floor of Playa Azul I, a 22-story beachfront condominium located in sunny Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Featuring an 18-foot wall of louvered glass spanning its width, our spacious 523 square foot studio frames a stunning panoramic view of the Atlantic and is cooled by refreshing ocean breezes.

The apartment is smoke-free and impeccably maintained. With a complete renovation done in Fall 2014, the studio features high-quality appliances (including washer and dryer), furniture, and fixtures. Mostly recently, new 9-inch futon mattresses, comfy memory foam toppers, and high-quality bed linens were purchased in May 2019.

Playa Azul is a gated complex that is steps away from beautiful Playa Azul beach. Inside the complex you will find tennis and basketball courts, two pools (including a toddlers pool), play equipment for kids, and a clubhouse. A grocery store, drug store, gas station, bank ATM, and several restaurants are all within walking distance.

The condominium's location in Luquillo is ideal for exploring the Eastern part of Puerto Rico. The El Yunque National rainforest is just a few minutes West on Route 3, and Fajardo, with its bioluminescent bay and ferries to the islands Culebra and Vieques, is a few miles East. Shopping in old San Juan and at the outlets is a modest 20–40 minutes drive. Several championship golf courses are located at nearby resorts within 10 miles.

This location is 30 to 35 minutes from Luis Muñoz Marin Airport (SJU) and Old San Juan. Quick ride to El Yunque Rainforest and a public Luquillo alongside kioskos de Luquillo a mile away to the west and towards the east end is a surfing beach within walking distance.

Enjoy a unique stay in the humble barrio of Fortuna, a hillside community of mostly local Puerto Ricans (Luquillenses) who enjoy living simply, growing platanos, raising chickens, riding horses, walking to the beach, beautiful sunsets, and lovely views of the nearby beach and El Yunque.
We have a cozy and functional apt that guests can use to retreat, lay back and/or use as a jumping off point to enjoy the nearby sites. The apt is simple, clean, comfortable, and doesn't have AC or hot water.

Accessing the Apt:
The apt has 2 entry points, one through the front carport and the other from the back patio.

More about the Space:
The apt is on the 1st floor of a two-story concrete house and gets plenty of natural light. It is currently furnished with the basics as seen in the pictures. The backdoor opens into a patio area and wonderful views of the valley and the famous El Yunque rainforest. The apt does not have AC but is equipped with fans. The weather is generally comfortable throughout the year, though the summer months can be challenging during the heat of the day. The nights are cool even in the summer and the fans are enough to sleep comfortably through the night.

Bedroom - Includes a comfy memory foam full bed, armoire, table/desk and wall-mounted fan.

Kitchen - Includes a portable cooktop, compact fridge, microwave, coffee press, utensils, dishes, cups and glasses, pots/pans, coffee/tea and salt/pepper/sugar/oil. The kitchen does not have an oven or gas stovetop.

Living/Dining Room - Includes a smart TV where guests can access entertainment through their individual subscriptions. The space also includes a loveseat, coffee table, dining table, and a couple of chairs.

Bathroom - Guests will be provided w/ soap and shampoo. Each guest will be given bath towels. Extra towels may be available upon request.

Guests are able to park one vehicle on the driveway in front of the house.

Getting Around:
- Guests will have an easy time driving to many places of interest. A car is highly recommended to get to most places (El Yungque hikes, restaurants, grocery store), though it is possible for those adventurous to walk to the beach, the 'Kioskos' restaurants, and a small convenience store.
- Our favorite Luquillo Beach and the famous Kioskos are a 5-minute drive or 15-20 min walk downhill.
- Uber service is readily available during the day.
- 45 min drive to San Juan
- 20 min drive to Fajardo
- 20 min drive to El Yunque
- 30 min drive to Ceibe Ferry Terminal (launching point for Culebra and Vieques islands)

Washer:
Guests can use the owner's washing machine located in the second floor porch, upon request. Clothes lines are available on first and second floors (no dryer)

Other things to note
Food Forest - Last year we started a food forest in the 1/4-acre backyard. We've planted more than 100 species, many young fruit trees and vegetables, and are continually seeding and planting more. We hope to have more food sovereignty and share with neighbors. You will find us in the food forest most mornings and evenings weeding, mulching, pruning, harvesting, and basking in the beauty of nature. You are free to walk around or ask for a tour!

Walking Around and to the Beach - Those fit and agile can walk downhill to the beach (Fortuna Beach) in 10-15 minutes, then onward to other beaches. The house is on a hill- great views but difficult walk back uphill from the beach.

Simple Living (no AC or hot water!) - We are a couple in their mid-30s without kids, and we enjoy cultivating a simple lifestyle. This includes an intentional choice for no hot water or air conditioning. We are always aiming at challenging wants versus needs, maintaining a low carbon foot print and minimizing waste, and trying to contribute towards a better and equitable community.

Water Pressure - Water pressure may fluctuate (as we are at the top of the hill, and there are high-demand times) and we automatically use a backup tank to support when needed.

Quiet Hours - Sound travels easily, particularly as windows are kept open, and you may at times hear us or the neighbors briefly. We keep this in mind to be thoughtful and practice quiet hours between 9pm and 8am.

Close to playa azul, el yunque rainforest, restaurants calabali adventure park, horse back riding , atv, zip line, kioskos. Ferry boat to culebra and vieques is 30 min. San Juan is 25 min. Jet ski rentals is in playa azul 5 min away. Yunque rainforest 15 minutes away. Nature reserve 2 minutes st Miguel .

The accommodation is located on the estate of a residential property. It is a large patio with flat and sloping areas with vegetation and wildlife. You will have parking available on site, the 1982 Volkswagen camper as a bedroom for 2 people, fan, deck, kitchen area equipped with stove, utensils, refrigerator; private bathroom with shower, jacuzzi, campfire area and large patio that you can explore.

•The shower is at room temperature. There is no heater.
•There is little signal in the place for most cellular networks, but we have WiFi at your disposal.
•In PR, the power and water go out without prior notice.

In this studio you will find everything you need for a perfect stay. Located on the Costa Azul beach in Luquillo. Great place to find yourself near the ocean or go surfing at "La Pared Beach". The beach is only 2 minutes walking distance, it is a mystical place full of good energies.
