- "We enjoyed our stay at Norma's place. The place was spacious and had more than enough accommodations for 6 adults. The neighborhood was peaceful throughout our stay. The pool was SUPER nice to have, especially since we were going through a heat wave. There were restaurants and a National Reserve very close by that we also enjoyed. We took time to visit a coffee plantation, Hacienda Muñoz, that was about 35 minutes away. It was a very beautiful and interesting place. GETTING HERE
From the San Juan Airport, you can rent a car or take a shuttle van approximately one hour to Palmas del Mar. While you're here, golf carts are the popular mode of transport, and can be rented when you arrive.

We enjoyed our stay very much!! The only disappointment was the number of restaurants and activities available in the resort area. We had hoped to only leave the property for a few excursions. Get a golf cart and cruise around to different restaurants etc. Post hurricane, the casino is still not open, horseback riding is not available, the little wine cellar is closed and there are a number of restaurants that are also not open. If we had known this in advance we would probably have picked a different location on the island. That being said, the unit itself is wonderful and very comfortable for 7-8 people."

*The 2nd bedroom is a small bedroom, intended only for kids or maybe a teenager. The bed is a double (full) which could fit 2 kids comfortably. If you are 4 adults, please do not book. We know you are not going to be as comfortable as we would like you to be on your vacations.

Palmas Doradas is close to the Tennis Club and there are also two spectacular golf courses within Palmas del Mar.

Palmas del Mar is a beach resort in the southeast of Puerto Rico. The land is about 2,750 acres. There is a school, 25 neighborhoods, small shops, around 15 restaurants, 2 marinas and a yacht club. Rent a golf cart to move around during your stay. You will find a Supermarket where you can buy your groceries during your stay. It has security 24 hours at a gate entrance, and at each complex.

We strive to provide our guests with a comfortable stay; however, please be aware that Puerto Rico’s electrical grid is prone to interruptions. To mitigate this, our property is equipped with a robust 27-panel solar array and two Tesla Powerwall batteries to maintain essential power during short outages (less than 1 hour).

Important: In the event of a grid outage, guests may need to significantly reduce energy consumption to ensure continued operation of critical systems. This includes limiting or avoiding the use of air conditioners, as these appliances can quickly deplete the stored energy in the batteries.

We reserve the right to remotely turn off air conditioners, pool heater and other non-essential, energy- intensive appliances until the grid power is restored. Please note this is a rare occurrence and typically power interruptions are short and handled by our backup system without interruption or notice to the guest- but it is a possibility so keep that in mind prior to booking.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Please note that our pool and yard maintenance team may visit the property during your stay for routine upkeep. To minimize any disruption to your enjoyment during the day, These visits are scheduled early in the morning. We work to ensure these services have minimal impact while keeping the property clean, safe, and enjoyable for all guests.

In the event work happens to call, next to the foyer is an office with wetbar; furnished private balcony; and half bath. Also adjoiningthe foyer are the dining room; living room; and kitchen.

Cooking is a family event at our home, and no expense has been spared in appointing the kitchen andadjoining living area so that they function as one large open space. The kitchen features high endappliances including an oven; convection microwave oven; side by side refrigerator with bottomfreezer and ice maker; stainless steel dishwasher; and barista-grade espresso maker. A large high definition television perched in the living room is viewable from both rooms, and a cooking island with stools adjoins the two rooms so the chef is alwaysa part of the activity. OUTDOOR AREAS

Zana del Mar offers a covered terrace and a patio. There is an outdoor BBQ grill so that you can dine al fresco and savor your meals while soaking in the tropical breeze. The terrace has an outdoor dining table for four guests and a seating area with three outdoor armchairs.

GETTING AROUND

You will need a car to move around. Ubers and taxis are not available in this area. The property includes parking for up to two cars.

LOCATION

Our property is situated in the charming Villa Palmira community in Humacao, Puerto Rico. It is surrounded by the natural beauty of the nearby Playa Punta Santiago.

Besides enjoying the beautiful villa, there are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites:

Chill at Playa Punta Santiago! The property has beach chairs, towels, and a cooler for a long day at the beach. The beach is just a short stroll away.
Many times during the year, the beach at Punta Santiago is susceptible to high tides, which makes for unfavorable conditions. If this is the case when you visit don’t worry you can visit the beautiful Seven Seas Beach, 45 minutes away, in the town of Fajardo, which is a fantastic beach!

Visit the Humacao Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing day surrounded by nature. The Humacao Nature Reserve has a variety of activities that can make your day memorable.

Visit Punta Santiago Old Pier, where you can find nice spots to walk, take pictures, and enjoy the view of other small islands that are close to Humacao.

Visit Palmas del Mar Beach Resort. It is just a 20-minute drive away. Palmas del Mar offers a wonderful mile-long beach, multiple dining options, marina, tennis, and golf – among other offerings. The resort has miles and miles of running and cycling trails.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.

AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.

Palmas del Mar is a beautiful resort community, with beaches, restaurants, shops and amazing sports facilities, under an hour's drive from SJU, on the doorstep of the El Yunque rainforest.

Our villa is perfectly located, minutes from the beach, and a short walk or drive from all amenities. The landscaped gardens include one of the resort's nicest pools.

This refurbished 2-floor apartment has fast wifi, modern aircon, 2 private balconies and a stunning roof terrace with views of El Yunque.
The space
The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a Spanish-style villa, with private external access. It was refurbished completely in August 2021, in a clean, Spanish revivalist design, with all the modern comforts and facilities you'd expect (including 400MBS wifi, and modern air conditioning as well as ceiling fans in every room).

The large reception room offers an elegant sitting area with a large smart TV, huge wood dining table and dedicated workspace. It's adjacent to a brand-new, fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher.

The stylish downstairs bedroom, with queen-sized bed and comfy linen, looks out over the ponds and palm trees of the landscaped gardens. The twin-room has two large single beds, reading chair and offers views of El Yunque.

The gray-tiled downstairs bathroom is also brand new, with a large shower and ample storage space.

The downstairs balcony terrace has tables, chairs and a hammock.

Upstairs in the "honeymoon suite" there's a large bedroom, with king-sized bed and walk-in closet. Wake up looking out over El Yunque, there's a lovely balcony ideal for breakfast. The brand-new bathroom has a hot-tub / shower.

There's a separate wood-floored study, with comfy lazyboy, work desk and office chair.

The rooftop terrace has a shaded dining table for up to 6 people, grill, recliner with umbrella, and an elevated table with stools, perfect for sipping cocktails looking out over the landscaped gardens. The pergola with its twinkling lights makes the perfect space for a romantic dinner or family meal.

We are a Puerto Rican/British couple who split our time between London, Spain and Puerto Rico and bought this villa in 2021, as we love its location, style and the Palmas del Mar vibe. One day we hope to retire here, but until then we are happy to share it with you!

It's our first time hosting and we are super keen to make sure you have a great time staying with us. Our family lives locally and will be on hand to help with anything during your stay.

If the full villa is not available on the dates you're looking for, it's possible the upstairs or downstairs may be available, since they can be rented separately or together.

The hammock on the porch was heavenly. I was there with my 13 year old son and felt very safe and comfortable. The pool area is really nice as well and free to use. Our host Raul was great communicating with us before and during the stay, and gave us helpful recommendations. Note that the beach right near the place is generally not good for swimming due to currents (lots of signs and red flags warning about swimming) so you’ll need to drive a bit for a beach day but it worked out well. We experienced a power outage in the area our first night (not anything our host could have controlled). Residents at the complex told us the outage was longer than normal. Overall, we were very happy with this property for our Puerto Rican vacation and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others!"

The master bedroom is located on the main level of the villa.

The master bedroom, located in the main level of the villa, features a queen bed and a private terrace with 2 chairs and spectacular views. It offers a closet and an ensuite bathroom with tub. The two additional bedrooms are located on the second level of the property and they share a full bathroom. The second bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, while the third bedroom offers two twin beds.

KITCHEN

Fairway Breeze Villa has a simple yet fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances. It has a fridge with a freezer, microwave oven, oven, toaster, dishwasher, stove and a coffee maker. The kitchen is fully supplied and equipped with all the dinnerware and cooking ware needed for an extended stay. West Indies Vacation Rentals always ensures that guests have fresh dish soap and dish sponges for their stay.

GETTING AROUND

You will need to rent a car while staying at Fairway Breeze Villa to move in and out of the resort. There are also many activities within a 30-minute drive, which you will not want to miss out on. The villa includes one assigned parking spot. Ubers and taxis are not available in this area. Fairway Breeze Villa is about an hour from the San Juan airport.

LOCATION

Fairway Breeze Villa enjoys one of the most coveted locations within Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico. Guests can walk to the beach and the community pool. The rest of Palmas del Mar's amenities are easily accessible by Golf Cart, which can be rented at Palmas del Mar. These include golf, tennis, a wide array of dining options, and various access points to the mile-long beach, marina, surfing, and mountain biking.

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites:

Golf at one of Palmas del Mar's two 18-hole Golf Courses. Tee times can be booked over the phone.

Tennis at the Palmas del Mar Athletic Club with 20 courts that include artificial grass, Har-Tru Clay, and hard courts.

Lunch or dinner at La Pescaderia, an oceanfront restaurant by the marina with some of the best seafood on the island.

Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 40-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship.

Chill at the beach! It is within walking distance, is a mile-long, and has a great beachfront grill!

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.

AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, and 1 dish sponge. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Building quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. We offer one-bedroom with a bunker bed Full size that fits comfortably 4 people. It is a space we have designated as an apartment in the back of a house, thus you’ll have access to the spacious backyard. It has a small kitchen with a two-burner portable propane gas stove. It is centrally located 2 mins. from main avenue #30. Pharmacy, mall, fast foods, and beaches are all within 3 to 30 minutes. Pets are welcome, no extra fee.

You will have a private entrance to the apartment. It has a small kitchen, with a mini fridge, microwave, and small gas stove. We provide all utensils, pots and pans, and everything basic to use in the kitchen.

Guest access
You can park in front of the house, if there is space available. If there is no space in front, you can park at the other side of the road in front of the house.

It also comes equipped with a BOSE sound system with Bluetooth, so you can enjoy your favorite music (without being disrespectful with the neighbors) and a landline phone for local calls and to the USA.

Secure parking space, you can bring your bikes, kayaks or paddle boards, there is safe space for these within the house and a jet ski if you are coming with one as well.

You will see some empty houses and others that are still being remodeled because our community was hit by 2 hurricanes in less than 1 month, Irma (9/6/2017) and CAT5 Huracan Maria (9/20/2017)

We lost many trees and palms and even in 2021 you can see the damage caused in some parts. Even so it is still a very beautiful and friendly community

Our place is fumigated monthly by a licensed exterminator, we also have screen protectors on all doors and windows and in our backyard we have a Dynatrap XL (insect trap) working 24/7

The house is next to the lake and has a lot of fauna so you can sometimes hear birds or wild roosters that do not belong to anyone and are common in all Puerto Rico

Blackouts:
Unfortunately blackouts in Puerto Rico occur frequently.

In the event of a blackout, we have an emergency generator inverter ready to be used. We will turn it on 1 hour after the blackout as sometimes it comes back on sooner.

Everything will work except stove, microwave, air conditioning and water heater. since our emergency inverter is not designed to power these equipment.

We also have available 1 small gas stove for emergencies.
