My house is steps from the Indian Rock Vineyards tasting room and a 1.5 mile pleasant walk/drive to Main Street in Murphys where you’ll find unpretentious wine tasting, great restaurants from thin crust pizza to California nouvelle cuisine, Gold Rush history come to life, outstanding shopping for all budgets and great antiquing opportunities. A little further afield you can enjoy caves, ziplining, walking tours, kayaking, skiing, snow shoeing as well as many hiking trails including Calaveras Big Trees State Park with its famous and stately Redwood trees or…

Stay in your robe and slippers and relax on the back deck with a peaceful view of the woods. Enjoy local bird life visiting the many feeders. Kick back with a glass of wine, a good book or gather everyone together to watch a movie in the cozy den.

My home is fully equipped with modern conveniences to ensure your comfort and enjoyment including a kitchen outfitted for cooking, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, TV with cable and free WIFI.

The master bedroom looks out on the beautiful deck and includes a king size bed and full private bath. The second bedroom also has a king size bed and desk for working remotely and is adjacent to a full hallway bathroom.

The kitchen, dining room and entertainment room are connected which makes for a great opportunity to visit over meals, have a movie night or enjoy board games.

To ensure you get settled in and have a great start to your stay with us, we will provide an initial supply of toilet paper, facial tissue, and paper towels, but these may not be enough for your entire stay and you may need to purchase additional supplies.

For security purposes, on August 1, 2022 we are installing a Ring doorbell at the front door and cameras above the garage doors that records those entering the home. There are no devices inside of the home.

- "Jennifer's place was perfect for our group of five (four adults and one kid). It is exactly like the photos. All of us enjoyed the den+kitchen+dining room area; the plant obsessed people in our group (me) couldn't stop looking at the succulent collection. My kid called the master bath the "fancy bath" and loved taking baths in the bathtub. The front garden was beautiful. The back deck was relaxed and restful. We went in late July. Lots of shade from the trees. Jennifer was an amazing host. Great communication from the very start. She suggested several activities in the area, like Columbia State Historic Park and Astronomy Night at Calaveras Big Trees Park. She quickly responded to a question about where to get a floatie (it was really important at the time). And when there was an unexpected power outage for all of Murphys and part of Angels Camp, she was in touch with us with information on battery powered lamps (already setup in the den and living room), portable lights, and current PGE information. A wonderful place to stay."

The Cellar Master's Suite is an amazing hideaway just 5-7 minutes from downtown Murphys. (It is not walkable, but is a quick drive and you will be tucked away in the peace and serenity of our homestead).

The Cellar Master's Suite is a one bedroom in-law apartment (approximately 700sqft) with private entrance. In the bedroom you will find a California King bed with Tempurpedic mattress that very comfortably sleeps two adults. In the living room, the couch folds into a queen size futon bed that can sleep an additional two guests.

There is a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and cookware you'll need to prepare fabulous meals. The bathroom has a pedestal-style sink and stand up shower. There is a small patio that looks on to the property and has a propane BBQ grill, table and chairs. The suite includes WiFi, DirecTV, BluRay DVD player with Smart apps like Netflix, AmazonVideo, YouTube, etc.

There is a gas heater in the living room that is more than sufficient for warming the entire apartment. There is an air conditioning unit, but since it is well insulated and under the main house, it stays fairly cool during summer months. Towels, linens, etc. are included.

Our standard cleaning fee is $40 regardless of length of your stay. The Cellar Master's Suite is pet friendly for dogs (sorry no cats as owners are allergic). We charge an additional $20 pet cleaning fee.

There is a secluded walk off the back of the property to see the picturesque Stanislaus river valley.

- "In terms of the ammenities, the house was really lovely and very high quality. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. for any kind of cooking. The wifi was also good. There was an unusually severe snow storm during our stay and Simon (the host) was really attentive to us. He contacted us to check on what kind of car we had, whether we had chains, kept us up-to-date on local conditions, and texted us frequently to make sure everything was okay. We are not used to snow conditions, and so we really appreciated it."

Be warned my husband who is 5'9 could barely fit in it but not a big deal for us. It is up steep stairs (note not safe for kids incase there are any in your party you are traveling with). Prime walking location to all shops, resturants, and park. You could sit on the pourch and hear the music from the park which was really nice. We will stay here again."

- "Our group really enjoyed our stay at Terrace on Main. We came to town for one night to celebrate a birthday and wanted to be in the heart of it all. Terrace on Main definitely delivered!! We were in the middle of all the action and had our own balconies to watch. We had more than enough space for 5 people. The kitchen is huge and very well stocked. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms are all up to date and also well stocked with essentials. We had one snafu with the lock on the door and Greg answered our call immediately, was very patient and we got everything worked out. (Pretty sure it was our mistake oops!) Just one mile from downtown Murphys and centrally located for any number of day trips, this guest suite is the perfect getaway. Murphys offers 25+ wine tasting rooms downtown alone, and the following attractions right at you fingertips: giant sequoias (the largest living organisms on the planet!), hiking, fishing, caving, skiing, lakes, rivers, historic goldrush towns, and so much more. Our charming and safe neighborhood offers ample street parking and we have free wifi!

The space
Our guest studio features a brand new, memory foam queen bed, sitting area for reading or planning your day over a cup of coffee, fully furnished kitchenette, private bathroom with custom shower (no tub) and private entry. There are stools at the kitchen counter so it can be used as a small table or workspace. We provide complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate guest parking in our driveway, however street parking is free and ample.

Guests with mobility issues should be aware that the driveway is short but steep, and the path leading to the door is gravel and flagstone, please practice caution.

We live full-time in the main house attached to the studio. Although we do our very best to tiptoe, you may hear ambient household noises. We do provide earplugs in your room.

Although they do not have access to your space, we do have dogs who may potentially bark at you through the fence, so let us know if this is an issue.

The room has its own brand new mini-split to keep you comfortable at the temperature of your choice.

In order to account for our neighbors and mail/trash services, we request that you park on the opposite side of the street as our driveway. You can either turn around in the driveway, or go around the block the long way. If you have an extra large vehicle or a trailer, etc., we recommend going around the block the long way.

The pied-a-terre is a 5 minute ramble from Main Street and all of its offerings. Park when you arrive and you won't need your car again until you depart (drink responsibly). This space is perfect for 2 people looking to enjoy the wine, food, and charm that Murphys offers- all on foot- but also offers a retreat from the noise at the end of the day as it is tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Because our street is tranquil, if you are a loud & rowdy explorer (partier) this refuge is not for you.

The space
This space is on the property where we live. We love our neighbors and neighborhood so we expect you will be a thoughtful visitor. The bed is queen size, with a Casper mattress. There is no kitchen and no way to cook, (there is an electric kettle for tea and a Chemex carafe for coffee) so plan to enjoy the restaurants, coffee shops, and bakery in town while you are here. On busy weekends, we recommend making reservations at local restaurants.

Other things to note
Our home is located in a residential neighborhood. Please be a thoughtful visitor. While an easy walk to Main Street, some of the rural neighborhood charm includes chickens, barking dogs, and the occasional rooster. In short, though you will have your own little sanctuary, you will find yourself right in the middle of our real life. We love our community and strive to be good neighbors.

Are you coming to Murphys to taste wine, hike through Big Trees or just get out of town for some serenity? Come stay in our private Cellar Masters' Suite on 5 acres of Foothill beauty. 5-7 min drive to town where you can walk to over 25 wineries, dine in fabulous restaurants, and see the best that Calaveras has to offer like hiking, fishing, boating, golfing, skiing, and of course wine tasting! We are dog friendly and everyone is welcome!

The space
The Cellar Master's Suite is an amazing hideaway just 5-7 minutes from downtown Murphys. (It is not walkable, but is a quick drive and you will be tucked away in the peace and serenity of our homestead).

The Cellar Master's Suite is a one bedroom in-law apartment (approximately 700sqft) with private entrance (this is not a detached unit; it is directly below the main house that we occupy full time). In the bedroom you will find a California King bed with Tempurpedic mattress that very comfortably sleeps two adults. In the living room, the couch folds into a queen size bed that can sleep an additional two guests.

There is a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and cookware you'll need to prepare fabulous meals. The bathroom has a pedestal-style sink and stand up shower. There is a small patio that looks on to the property and has a propane BBQ grill, table and chairs. The suite includes WiFi, DirecTV, BluRay DVD player with Smart apps like Netflix, AmazonVideo, YouTube, etc.

There is a gas heater in the living room that is more than sufficient for warming the entire apartment. There is also an air conditioning unit, but since it is well insulated and under the main house, it stays failry cool during summer months. Towels, linens, etc. are included.

As the suite is below our living space, you may hear us moving around above you. We make every effort to walk lightly in order to minimize noise impact on our guests.

We are also the owners of the Murphys Irish Pub In downtown Murphys. We offer a 10% “locals discount” to all of our guests so please come in for some cold beer/wine and amazing pub food! Please let your server know you are our guest when you mention the discount. The pub closes late so we often get home around midnight on the weekends, again, we do our best to walk softly and not disturb our guests.

We have temporarily increased our standard cleaning fee is $50 due to Covid related sanitation, this is a one time fee, regardless of length of your stay. The Cellar Master's Suite is pet friendly for dogs (sorry no cats as owners are allergic). We do not believe in charging any additional fees to bring your furry family members on your getaway but please let us know if you plan to bring a dog when making your reservation. (We have a 75 lb max size limit). We ask that you be respectful of the space, monitor your pets activities and clean up after your pet. :-)

You will have the entie one-bedroom apartment with private entrance all to yourselves. We have a convenient coded lock on the door, so you can check in at your convenience, anytime after 2pm on the day of your arrival.

You are also free to explore the beautiful 5 acre property! Please make sure you close all gates to keep our farm animals safe. On any explorations, please do so at your own risk, be mindful of your safety (owners are not liable for any injuries or accidents). DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES. There are a lot of ticks in our region so please check your pet prior to coming back inside to make sure they haven't brought along any unwanted 'guests'.

Please do not park on any spaces that are not paved. We reserve a special place in the driveway for our guests. If you plan to bring more than one car, please message me so we can make arrangements for extra parking.

The space
Drop Shot room is our "No Frills" room on the side of Courtwood Inn. The unit has a queen bed, and small entry room with Kuerig coffee maker, microwave oven and small refrigerator. There are plates, wine glasses + opener and coffee mugs. Cereal, milk, juice and 2 waters are provided free of charge. Inn access, full breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese gathering can be added on site for an additional $50/day. Tennis play is available on a walk-on basis after signing a waiver.

Welcome to Murphys, CA, Queen of the Sierras. Our studio is an easy, picturesque walk to beautiful downtown Murphys. We hope you will enjoy the cozy accommodations and quiet space at the end of a day of exploring all that our town has to offer.

The space
Our studio, in a quiet, wooded neighborhood, has a private entrance with a coded entry for self check-in. The bed features a new "Tuft and Needle" queen mattress and soft bedding. The room is furnished with coffee/tea service, a wardrobe, small desk, TV, and charger plugs at the bedsides. Guests with mobility issues should consider that there is a stair to step up into the comfortable bathroom and steps that lead down the beautiful pathway. We live in the house attached to the studio, and appreciate guests who enjoy the beauty and quiet of our neighborhood just up the road from the Murphys Hotel. Rowdy guests should book elsewhere. Our two friendly dogs are fenced off from the studio side of our property. Our calico cat is a mountain explorer, but she is not allowed to venture into the studio.

The Annex is ideal for couples, beautifully furnished, charming and spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen. Separate bedroom & bathroom. Redwood deck nestled under a huge oak tree with incredible view of the Penn Gulch Valley.

The space
The Annex is a special place for a quiet romantic vacation. within walking distance of Indian Rock Winery and a mile and half away from Main Street.

Located in the heart of the Sierras Wine Country, minutes from downtown Murphys, just miles from Big Trees State Park, and half and hour drive to Bear Valley Ski Resort, this darling 2 bedroom home features natural wood trim and floors and is situated on a lush garden property with rolling lawns, shade trees, and patios, wheel chair ramp. Easy parking, in/out access for several cars, long RVs, trailers, this home is conveniently situated right on California 4, so guests may hear road traffic.

The space
This well-preserved country home with natural wood floors, live edge wood trim, huge cozy couches, central air conditioning and heating is located on a small ranch adjacent to Route 4. Wheel chair accessible. Easy access and plenty of parking. The kitchen has a selection of pots and pans, plates and silverware, as well as coffee fixins', microwave, blender, rice maker, utensils, etc. Two cozy bedrooms feature new queen mattresses and linen. The library has an interesting blend of books, movies and DVDs and there is even a vintage stereo (with a bluetooth connector so you can play your own tunes). A large screen TV, DVD and VHS players are in the house, but they are not connected, no satellite, no cable nor air stations. The back deck overlooks the ranch garden and guests are welcomed to enjoy the lawns. Pour a cup of coffee or tea, or fix yourself a glass of wine and relax...

Easy access and plenty of parking on the asphalt lot....park large vehicles with trailers on the gravel driveway so you can exit via Brice Station Road without backing up. Guests are welcomed to enjoy the back deck and the lawns and gardens. The rickety old barn is not safe to enter.

Other things to note
Murphys CA has a strong wine scene. Just across the street (2 min walk) is Brice Station Vineyards, home to The Summer Shakespeare Festival.

We have a television in the house but it is NOT connected. There is no cable, satellite, or Internet streaming TV. We have a VHS player and a CD player in the house if you wish to hook them up and watch the selection of vintage movies!

Being way out here in the countryside, we have Starlink satellite internet. The speed of the service varies. Sometimes it is great. Sometimes is is slow, or even non existent, especially during heavy rain and snow. Also cell service here is spotty. Depending on your carrier, you may not have cell reception. Verizon seems to be ok, but the other carriers may not have a signal in our small valley.

It may seem obvious, but I've had two separate guests comment about this topic so I think I should mention it: the vegetable garden, various flowers, lush lawns and bursting foliage shown in many of the photos grows seasonally, in the spring and summer, of course. The scene may vary. The flowers do not grow all year round; and the property looks quite different during the various seasons. Another reason to visit us many times per year and enjoy the seasons!

A quick note about Sunday bookings: if a guest is scheduled to check out on a Sunday, I will normally mark that Sunday as "unavailable" on the calendar. This is because my cleaning crew is difficult to schedule on Sundays. If a Sunday night you are interested in shows as "unavailable" send me a message on Airbnb and I will unblock the Sunday you're inquiring about. Cheers!

Lovely space that accommodates up to 5 guests comfortably. But we also have a sofa bed if you need to fit 2 extra guests. Indoor and outdoor dinning areas. Each room has portable Air conditioning and heating units. The main bedroom has a ceiling fan as well.
Very comfortable beds and soft linens. Fully stocked kitchen and even a working area/desk to work remotely if needed.
The garden is very beautiful, with grapevines and other fruit trees. We also have a vegetable patch where you can walk into pick some spices or even a few vegetables.

Guests have access to the whole house including the laundry facilities. The garage is used for storage and we keep it locked. There is plenty of off-street parking for up to 4 cars.

The Night Owl is an attractive studio perched on the second story of a shoppe in the heart of downtown Murphys.

The large, covered patio is the first thing to greet you when you come up the stairs. Plan to lounge out here at night enjoying a cocktail or two. It also would be ideal for barbecuing and outdoor dining in the fresh air.

When you enter the Night Owl, you may be reminded of the apartment you once dreamed of having in downtown Paris. The sitting room welcomes you but your eye is lead past the kitchen to the dining area with its peaked ceiling.

The alluring bedroom area is separated from the kitchen with a curtain. The queen size bed is centered under a large skylight which lets in plenty of natural light. There is also a queen air mattress, should you need additional sleeping accomodations.

The bathroom in the Night Owl is just off of the sitting room. The bathroom is petite and the shower EVEN SMALLER... with not a lot of elbow room. THE BATHROOM AND SHOWER ARE TEENY-TINY and not recommended for large/tall guests.

Parking immediately downstairs is reserved for the store below and parking at the hotel is reserved for guests. Please plan to drop your stuff off and park you car down the street near the Murphys Park.

This house accepts pets. The fee is $20 per pet per night.

The cottages have a keyless entry system, which allows guests to arrive anytime after check-in hours. It is not necessary to check in or out at an office.

Other things to note
There is no designated parking space. Guests are encouraged to unload their luggage and then find a nearby public parking spot. Public parking (a short walk down the street, behind the park recommended). Shop downstairs asks that we please don't use their parking during business hours except to load and unload. Parking available right below after 5pm.

Queen air mattress is available should you need to sleep additional guests.

The Night Owl has a two night minimum on Friday and Saturday nights and a three night minimum on all major holidays.

This house is the perfect getaway for wine lovers and nature lovers alike. A short walk (only 3 blocks/~10min) to downtown offers easy access to over 25 tasting rooms, shops, and restaurants. The house is extremely quiet, private, and serene.

Lighted rock walkway leads to the private porch entrance. Step up into cozy comfort. Originally designed as a Mother-in-law apartment, it is close to the main house but still very private.

Horseshoe Cottage Murphys features a full kitchen, gas stove top, oven & microwave. Coffee/tea station is all ready for your arrival along with perk coffee pot and Gold Country Roasters premium ground coffee in the cupboard.

There are 3 cats, Maggie (a lab), new large puppy Lacey, Bella, the black mare and 2 - 4 visiting horses on the property. We ask that you please do not leave doors open nor let any of the friendly pets into the cottage out of respect for our guests who might have pet allergies. The 3 cats, Flash, Sammie & Yoshi are not lap cats but don't mind some attention if your willing.

Neither the grounds nor Cottage are childproof or child friendly. For this reason we do not allow infants nor children. There are many more vacation homes in our area that are more suited for families. Horseshoe Cottage is limited to two adults for a quiet get away.


Grounds lovingly landscaped by Dan who would love for you to wander about and enjoy. The terraced sitting area across the bridge is a perfect spot for morning coffee or afternoon wine.

The shade on the porch is there to block morning sun and heat coming in the front windows. The rod is hanging on the horseshoe hooks just inside the door if you need to raise or lower. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need assist with anything.

Do keep in mind we are in a rural area surrounded by pastures, native oak trees and nature’s presence in the form of bees, hummingbirds, dragon flies, mosquitoes, birds, rarely snakes, spiders & garden bugs. Keeping doors closed will aid in keeping them out of the Cottage. However, in the summer months should you leave food out or don’t wipe down counters after cooking, the ants 🐜 are amazing at finding a way in. We do have a quarterly bug program as well as a monthly fly program ongoing during the summer months to provide a comfortable stay. There is also bug spray on the top shelf of the pantry should you feel the need. Please don’t spray the pets! And read the labels carefully before using any chemicals.

You are welcome to enjoy the horseshoe pit and raised patio across the bridge from the main house for a relaxing view of the property. This is the perfect location for morning coffee or afternoon wine. Locke Vineyards is just a casual short walk down the road.

Murphys Hideaway has great views, a peaceful location on over 5 acres and all the comforts of home. Family & Pet friendly. Minutes from downtown Murphys, A/C & Heat, 3 queen beds, WIFI, fully outfitted remodeled kitchen, 2 TV's, propane & briquette BBQs, 2 full bathrooms and a wood burning stove. Incredible sunsets can be viewed from the back deck where deer and hawk sightings are common . Biking out the front door, trail heads close by. Well behaved pets are welcome with advance notice.

The space
Private location with access to all the fabulous activities in the area. Popular biking area for both on and off road biking. Lots of wildlife viewing of birds and deer and stunning sunsets off of the large back deck. Frequent breezes come uphill from the canyon below. The house is kept very clean and the beds and the linens provided are very comfortable. This location offers a very relaxing, quiet, and peaceful stay on 5 private acres. Trail access to the Arnold Rim Trail is nearby. Wood for the wood burning stove is provided, only to be used when the local area is not experiencing fire season danger. Their outdoor concert venue is a great place to enjoy some big name bands during the summer months.

The Cappelli House is filled with original mid-century modern furniture and décor. The back yard has a deck, BBQ, dining table, grass area & hot tub. Location, Location, Location!! All the fabulous restaurants, wineries, ice cream shops, boutiques are all a short walking distance away. Ironestone is up the hill just a mile and a half. Mercers Cavern is just a couple miles away as well.
The unit is always clean, comfortable & decorated with wood photos of all our local wineries! We are sure you will enjoy your stay!

The space
My home is fully equipped with modern conveniences to ensure your comfort and enjoyment including a kitchen outfitted for cooking, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, TV with cable, Netflix, Prime Video, and free WIFI.

The primary bedroom looks out on the beautiful deck and includes a king size bed and full private bath. The second bedroom also has a king size bed with a desk for working remotely and is adjacent to a full hallway bathroom.

The double sofa bed is located in the den, so guests can have their own space at one end of the house while the remainder of the guests still have use of the living room as a common space.

The kitchen, dining room and den are connected which makes for a great opportunity to visit over meals, have a movie night or enjoy board games.

The spacious deck is fully equipped with multiple seating areas to share a bottle of local wine with your friends and family, enjoy a BBQ meal cooked on the gas grill, or simply kick your feet up in the hammock with a great book.

We provide low back chairs to borrow for local area concerts at Ironstone Amphitheater, music on the lawn at The Watering Hole, Twisted Oak Winery, Brice Station Vineyards, and Murphys' Community Park events. We also have a couple of sleds to borrow for winter fun.

For security purposes, we have a Ring doorbell and cameras over the garage doors that record those entering the home. There are no devices inside of the home.
