Welcome to my Mountain Retreat. I hope that you will find it comfortable, tranquil and well equipped. My home is about a 3 minute drive to “downtown” Twain Harte, 15 minute drive to the Black Oak Casino and an easy 30 minute drive to Dodge Ridge Ski area. There are many nearby lakes and streams for fishing or a hike! The home is on a level lot with easy access to Highway 108. Our guests have access to Sugarpine lake which has swimming and fishing in the Summer! Note: Dogs are not allowed at Sugarpine lake and not allowed to be left alone in the house while you are out unless crated. We also have a large fenced dog run area. Please clean up after your dog and dispose "poop" in the outside trash can.

This 1150 square foot home has two bedrooms and two full baths and is not your typical old rundown cabin. This updated home has tons of mountain charm with knotty cedar ceilings, plank bamboo floors. It has been cosmetically remodeled with fresh paint, new floors and granite counters in the kitchen. The two bedrooms have brand new queen mattresses and very nice/new “lodge” style furnishings. Check out the pine log bed in the upstairs master bedroom and the Ranch decor in the downstairs bedroom. Both bedrooms and the living room have ceiling fans for your comfort during warm weather. In both bedrooms and the living room, we recently installed mini split air conditioning systems for your Summer comfort! We also have central heat and a fireplace for Winter comfort.

In the Living room you will find a “lodge” patterned couch and love seat as well as a brand new full futon which can be used as an additional sleeping area. The wood stove, 55 inch flat screen Smart TV and DVD/Blue ray player makes this room very comfortable to hang out in! I have a large number of Dvd’s that you can feel free to watch or you can certainly bring your own to view. We recently installed a new “Smart Tv”. Vizio offers quite a number of free tv options and you may also log into whatever streaming apps you may have access to. I have a very good Xfinity High Speed cable Internet (200+ mps). The internet can support work or school from home if needed. If you play, there is a guitar hanging on the wall. It is not a toy, so adults only please!
The large kitchen is fully equipped with newer appliances and tools for most basic cooking needs. It also contains a kitchen table which can seat six. You will also like the mason jar lighting fixtures with Edison style bulbs! There is a selection of table games also for your enjoyment.
In the Summer months you can enjoy the nice deck out back which includes tall cedars, seating and a BBQ. Also, I have private lake access at Sugar Pine Lake which I can offer to my guests.
My home will comfortably sleep six guests, if you use the futon in the living room. Note: The two Queen beds have new mattress covers and bedspreads that are frequently laundered. We provide sheets, blankets and pillows and they will be clean and the beds will be made with clean sheets when you arrive. I do not provide sheets, pillows or blankets for the futon, so please bring your own or sleeping bags. We also provide each guest a bath towel, hand towels and wash cloths. Please bring your own beach towels in summer. Please compare apples to apples when booking your Twain Harte vacation home as many do not provide sheets or towels.

Casa Bella has many charms, original art work, leaded glass windows, rustic fir floors, and a French armoire. Recent renovations have given this stylish mountain retreat a fresh look. The great room features a convenient gas fireplace, large, comfy leather chairs and a big couch for reading, lazing, or watching TV. There is also a futon which opens into a full bed. The bedrooms each have a queen bed with down comforters. The first bedroom has a peaked pine ceiling, antique, leaded glass windows, and a French armoire. The second bedroom has a full bookshelf and a connected half bath.

In winter, Dodge Ridge is 20 miles up the highway, where you can spend the days skiing and snowboarding, or go to Leland High Sierra Snowplay in Strawberry, for sledding and tubing.

Make a day trip (just over 2 hours) to visit world famous Half Dome, one of many splendors in Yosemite National Park.
Also, visit the many nearby wineries, bistros, art galleries, and boutiques. Sonora is 15 minutes away, Murphys is 45.
After your travels you will look forward to returning to the pine forests of Twain Harte and the quiet comfort of Casa Bella.

Our peaceful redwood cabin shares the property with two giant Ponderosa Pine trees. We are located on one of the most beautiful and quiet streets in Twain Harte, just a few blocks away from downtown shops , pee wee golf and restaurants.
The neighboring cabins are only used by the owners which keeps our area very quiet. There is one VRBO cabin right across the street that would work great for extra family members.If you are interested I can give you the VRBO number.
Our cabin also has lots of space between the other cabins and only 2 cabins are located behind ours and they are on a private road! Plenty of room for kids to safely run around!
Pondering Pines Cabin sleeps 8 with 2 bedrooms, a sleeping loft that serves as a third bedroom and two full bathrooms. The upstairs bedroom has a queen and a twin bed. The downstairs bedroom has a queen and twin bed also. The loft has two twins and one full bathroom upstairs and one downstairs as well.

Robert’s cabin was perfect for the 6 of us, as we had 2 couples and 1 pair of friends who stayed in the loft. It was only a couple of minutes walk to downtown, which was great for our evening meetup at mini golf. Robert was extremely communicative and helpful from check-in to check-out. The coffee maker didn’t work and he quickly had someone drop off a new one on the porch. The kitchen was well stocked, and the porch had lots of space and furniture for us to hang out. One thing to note is that the cabin does not come stocked with bath linens (which may have been listed but we did not notice that beforehand) which was fine because we all had extra beach towels. We had a wonderful time, and will definitely keep it in the rotation for future trips!"

The Norse Hus (pronounced Norse Hoos) is a beautiful mountain home in a wooded setting. The home has 2,500 square feet of comfortable living and is only a two hour drive from San Francisco East Bay. We are located in the Brentwood Park Neighborhood of Twain Harte on a 2/3 acre lot with lots of trees and privacy.
New in March 2022, the Norse Hus now has central air conditioning.
New in March 2021, guests to Norse Hus will be greeted with a brand new gourmet kitchen!

THE HOUSE IN A NUTSHELL:

4 bedroom, 3 bath, in 2 stories:
* UPPER (MAIN) FLOOR: Large living room, den with fireplace, large kitchen, dining room, master bedroom (which includes a private full master bath and private deck), laundry room, 2nd full bath, and main deck access.
* LOWER FLOOR: Three bedrooms, 3rd bath, and large family room with foosball table and pellet stove.
* THE DECK and front stairs are new in 2015. The deck is accessible from the upper level of the house, and is a wrap-around deck with furniture and barbecue for summer entertaining. The deck also has a large hammock to doze on while listening to the creek.

The Norse Hus is not a sterile income property, but our private vacation home and comes with personal touches that we hope makes your stay in Twain Harte more enjoyable.

STAYING AT THE NORSE HUS:

The Norse Hus is located in a very peaceful area of Twain Harte known as Brentwood Park. It is only a 1.5 mile walk to downtown, but away from the noise and general business of central Twain Harte.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE NORSE HUS:

1. The Norse Hus is named after our Scandinavian heritage and you will see cultural hints throughout.
2. Size matters! The Norse Hus is 2,500 square feet and has an open floor plan with large living spaces that nicely accommodates groups and families. There are not too many cabin rentals this size in Twain Harte.
3. Privacy in the forest. The cabin is in a neighborhood with larger lots than those in downtown. The cabin is nicely screened with two-thirds of an acre of tall mature pines, cedars, and dogwoods. The property is on some kind of local "deer highway", and it is common for guests to see deer from the deck during their stay.
4. High quality linens for up to 12 people. 500 thread count cotton sheets and sets of towels will be placed on each bed before your arrival.
5. A modern 2-zone forced air heating and air conditioning system will keep you comfortable during the winter and summer.
6. Newer large deck with ample space lots of comfortable outdoor furniture for entertaining in the forest.

A TOUR THROUGH THE NORSE HUS:

The house is entered from the top (second) story front deck into a large rustic living room with open beam ceilings. With three couches, easy chairs, and ample additional space, the living room is an ideal space for large groups and parties. The living room has a two sliding glass doors that open onto the main outdoor deck. One of two cable-connected TV and DVD players in the house are in this room. This TV is a 55-inch Smart (internet) TV. The corner bookcase has a large assortment of the most popular family board games.

Directly adjacent to the living room is a large spacious kitchen that has all major and minor appliances and plenty of room for multiple cooks. Adjoining the kitchen and large living room is a smaller intimate den with a fireplace, comfortable seats and another couch. This (den) room has sliding glass doors that open out onto the main side deck and a second one that opens to the rear deck where the barbeque sits.

The living room sliding glass doors open onto an enormous deck that wraps from the front to the side and finally the back. The side deck is 16 feet by 32 feet and has and expandable table and chairs for eight to twelve plus a large folded picnic table and stacked chairs that can be added to accommodate a large number of people. The main deck also has a cozy grouping of couches and chairs. There are two barbecues one gas and one charcoal (charcoal BBQ is under deck). The entire deck is graced with mood setting Edison-type bistro string lights and outdoor speakers.

With the three inter-connecting rooms (Living-Kitchen-Den) and multiple deck access points, the upstairs can accommodate a substantial number of people without feeling crowded, even in winter without use of the deck.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room with mid-century dining set and buffet table that can seat up to ten people with the internal butterfly leaf. There is also a drop-leaf folding table in the dining room and folding chairs in the master closet that can be used to expand the dining room seating. Adjacent to the dining room is the upstairs bathroom with a large comfortable shower.

The final living space upstairs is the master bedroom. The "Bear's Lair" is a spacious Master that has a king bed. There is also one Graco porta-crib in the closet. The master has two large windows with views into the forest, and a small private deck. Lastly there is a comfortable master bath with two sinks, vanity and tub.

From the living room a stair case descends to the lower floor, opening up to a large family room equipped with two more couches, a foosball table, a pellet stove, and second cable-connected TV (this TV is not a smart TV, but has a comcast cable box that makes the TV function as a smart TV). Three bedrooms and a bath with large shower all open into the family room. The lower floor is often a great place for kids to have their own space away from the adults upstairs, but not completely separated.

At the base of the stairs is bathroom number three with a large shower, and bedroom number two, which we call 'The Troll Room.' This room has a queen sized bed plus a single bed, and it is decorated with troll artwork pine cones and rustic Nordic ski pictures.

The next downstairs bedroom is 'The Bunk House.' This makes a great kid room, but can also accommodate adults. The Bunk House has two sets of bunk beds, one with two singles and one with a double and a single.

The fourth and final bedroom downstairs is called 'The Wine Cave.' This room is a cozy and charming little oasis away from general activity of the house. It has a double bed and is decorated in a wine country theme.

Off the family room is a door to the two car garage. There is one space available for parking inside the garage.

There are two TV's with DVD's in the house and WiFi internet. Both TV's are connected to (comcast) cable, and there is an endless array of movies and other DVD's for all ages. The upstairs TV is a smart TV connected directly to cable . You can log onto your own Netflix account or connect your laptop with the provided HDMI cable. The second standard TV is downstairs in the family room, connected to the internet through WiFi, and has smart TV capability.

A TOUR OF THE PROPERTY:

The property around the Norse Hus is densely forested and distinctly private. The trees are nicely mixed with Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir, Red Cedar, Black Oak, Canyon Oak, all with a beautiful understory of over 20 native Dogwood trees.

While the house is in a neighborhood, it is nicely separated from adjacent cabins. A low flow shallow brook meanders along the north property line. It runs year round except on rare occasions, typically around September or October. A tire swing is nearby, and together with the brook, children will be occupied for hours.

At the rear of the property is a full sized horseshoe pit. You will find horseshoes hanging on the outside wall by the back garage pass door. And finally around to the south side of the house is a flexible flat open area.

Including the driveway, and street frontage there is room for eight cars at the Norse Hus.

Special Note Regarding Swimming Options: This cabin is just outside the Twain Harte lake area, so it does not have privileges at that lake. Here are a list of some swimming options near Twain Harte:

1. Pinecrest Lake is a beautiful alpine lake about a 20 minute drive up highway 108. It has a free beach for swimming and a marina with boat rentals. There are restrooms, barbeques picnic tables and hiking trails. There is also a general store restaurant and snack shack. Pinecrest lake is stocked with fish.
2. Twain Harte Community Pool is located in downtown Twain Harte across the street from the Rock Restaurant and behind the Blossom Cafe.
3. Stanislaus River runs near Twain Harte and can be accessed in a number of locations. The closest location is three miles up the road on South Fork Road/Italian Bar Road. Park at the bridge and walk down the river. You can also find Stanislaus River swimming locations at Long Barn, Strawberry and at the Fraser Flat Campground about 15 minutes up highway 108.
4. New Melones Lake is an excellent water ski lake just north of Jamestown.

Surveillance cameras are on the property pointing toward the property lines. Interior and exterior living spaces are NOT in view of any cameras on this property. There is one camera facing the street, one facing toward the south property, and one facing toward the rear of the property.

Take a short 1 minute walk and you're right in the heart of downtown Twain Harte where you'll find groceries, dining, coffee, shopping, mini golf, public park, tennis courts, bars and live music!

The Space:
This listing includes exclusive access to the entire lower half of the home, complete with a sepparate entrance, outdoor space, kitchen, bedroom, kitchen and dining area.

The top half of the home has an additional 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and includes exlusive acess of the wraparound deck as well as the sepparate game room cabin located at the back of the property.

The property is located less than a minute away to downtown and on the weekends, you'll hear live music ROCKING from downtown. We recommend walking over to Eproson house and checking it out!

The cabin supported and held us in good energy the whole week, the kids got along and they loved their upper level just for them. On the lower floor, guests will enjoy a master bedroom with King bed, electric fireplace, large walk-in closet, and white noise sound machine. Attached master bathroom has stall shower, dual vanity and large soaking tub. Bassinet and toddler bed available.

The kitchen is on this level and is equipped with modern amenities including island JennAir stove, range microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven/air fryer combo, 4 slice toaster, Keurig coffee maker and all the basics to prepare meals.

The kitchen opens up to the living area with propane fireplace, futon couch, open seating and large smart TV. Huge dining table converts to a pool table or ping pong table for endless family fun. Also on this floor is the laundry room with washer/dryer/ironing station and a half bath.

Upstairs you will find a guest room with queen bed, smart TV and large closet. A full bathroom with shower/tub combo separates this room from a loft which has been converted to a "treehouse" themed kids haven with twin bunk bed and PACMAN and Capcom vs Marvel arcade-style games.

You will find one more room on this level, decked out for more kid-approved fun including 2 twin bunk beds, basketball arcade-style game, cool multi-color LED lighting, and custom NERF wall with everything they need for the ultimate NERF WAR.

Outside is an expansive deck/patio area with multiple living spaces, dining table, propane fire pit, wood burning chiminea, and large hot tub. The Hot tub is heated year-round and is professionally maintained.

There is one security camera at the front door facing the road. This is used for safety and to check snow conditions.

Local attractions include Twain Harte Golf Course, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Black Oak Casino with Arcade, Bowling, Gaming and indoor trampoline park, Long Barn ice skating rink, and Yosemite National Park. Lots of hiking in the Stanislaus National Forest.

Guests have access to the entire house except linen closets and storage areas.

NOTE:
The house is at 4000ft elevation. This often means A LOT of snow in the winter. PLEASE CHECK WEATHER CONDITIONS PRIOR TO DRIVING UP. Chains are often required in the winter, sometimes even if you have 4wd. This past winter (2022-2023) had an unprecedented amount of snowfall and there was one week where the community was asking all renters to reschedule due to 9 ft of snow and unsafe driving conditions. This is very rare but does happen. We will do our best to accommodate our renters. We do have a security camera / snow cam installed so please message me if you need up-to-date snow conditions.

Power outages can happen in the winter months due to bad weather. For extended outages, there is a gas powered generator which can only be operated with permission from the owner. Please message us if the generator is required.

We try to keep firewood stocked but it is not guaranteed. Wood can be purchased locally at any of the convenience stores for $10/pile.

During the winter months we do our best to keep the driveway clear but there may be times when it will require shoveling (shovel provided). The city is usually good about plowing the roads as needed.

There is room for boat parking if you plan to hit the water on your trip. Don't have a boat?! Ask about our boat rental!

Twain Harte is in Tuolumne County, California. Its name is derived from the last names of two famous authors who lived in California, Mark Twain and Bret Harte. Twain Harte is both a summer and winter vacation community situated at the transition zone between the oak forest of the California foothills and the mixed pine and fir forest of the Sierra Nevada. Summers are warm during the day and the nights are generally mild; making Twain Harte a pleasant escape from the long, hot summers of the California Central Valley. Winters can be very cool with snow occurring several times during the season. The city of Twain Harte offers 9-hole golf, disc golf, a Skate park, children's play park, and bocce ball mini-golf, community pool. Twain Harte now offers a Hatchet Throw house that provides VR gaming and food! 0.5 miles away T.H. Lake offers fishing to children under 16 years of age. Winter sports venues are located nearby at Leland High Sierra Snowplay near Strawberry (snow tubing), Long Barn Lodge & Ice Skating Rink, and Dodge Ridge Ski Area near Pinecrest are all along Highway 108, plus the Badger Pass Ski Area in nearby Yosemite Park

- "We really enjoyed our stay. Quiet area, and had a great deck. Hope to rent again." - "The location of this home was perfect! It's in a small town that has restaurants and a market. If you need access to a bigger grocery store it's only a 15 minute drive away. It's also a 30 minute drive to Strawberry which is where we drove to to go Winter Hiking. Because of the elevation of the cabin location it didn't have as much snow. My group stayed strictly in the living room and it includes both of our big dogs (German Shepherd and American Alsatian). The master bedroom is cozy but does take a bit of time to warm up in temperature. Upstairs comfy with twin sized beds. Kitchen cookware was nice (I'd opt to bring your own cutlery) and there were plenty of serving plates. There is a relatively newer washer and an older dryer. I would also suggest bringing a cleaning tablet for the washer or run it on the hottest setting to make sure the washer is clean before washing your clothes. Dryer looks small but can fit a medium large load of laundry. Overall, the accommodation was awesome. I would definitely book again. My feedback to the property would be maybe adding additional cables for the TV so people can connect to other devices to stream."

Perfect place for all of the outdoor adventures that await you! 6-10 min from Long Barn (depending on conditions, 25 min from Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. 2.5 hr to Yosemite. 2 min to casino. Our home is meant for a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children. This is not a party cabin and best for small families or couples. The grocery store, dining, coffee, golf and other amenities are all a short drive away (you can walk but the roads are narrow). Relax or work remotely while sitting by the koi pond.
The space
BBQ on the deck, set up your snow gear under the porch and relax after a day of skiing or hiking. The neighbors are close, but quiet and friendly.

- "My friend and I had a nice time at the cabin. Especially enjoyed the reclining couch and fireplace for coziness and perfect movie viewing during our winter stay. I’m not a fan of a tempur-pedic style mattress so I found sleeping difficult but others may prefer this option to a spring coil mattress. Be aware that if you have mobility challenges it can be difficult to get in and out of the cabin especially during snow season but once inside everything is on one level. The bathroom has a tiled shower with glass door and is stocked with plush towels. There is a King size organic "Avocado" brand mattress, as well as two twin beds in the loft area. In the living room there is a smart TV and high speed internet. Enjoy the beautiful local artwork on the walls throughout the space as well as local guidebooks to help you get your adventure off on the right foot. You will have all the comforts of home including fresh coffee beans from our local roastmaster at Revive Coffee. This property has an exceptional outdoor space with private patio which includes a gas fire pit. Listen to the stillness that surrounds you as you recall the events of the day. Guest access

The cottage is attached to our main house and is located underneath our garage. It has its own private exterior entrance with no interior access to the main house keeping both of our spaces private. Access into the space is obtained through the lower exterior door by a coded deadbolt lock and will require you to go down the stairway seen in the photos.

Snow does fall during the winter months and our street is plowed by a private snowplow contractor very regularly. A snow shovel is available in the cottage for you to access your car during heavy storms.

Guests can park in front of the main house on the gravel parking pad or in the cul-de-sac. Please do not block garage doors as we come and go regularly. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at any time! We are happy to provide any help that we can but also want to respect your space.

Greenview Home is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath (newly remolded) nestled in the mountain of Twain Harte!

Modern vibes but with a few cabin flair, making this home an escape in itself. You're sure to make timeless memories w/ family and friends at your stay.

Greenview Home is located about 25 minute drive to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort (snowboarding, snow play, tubing & sledding) & Pinecrest Lake (fishing, kayaking, horseback riding and more). Black Oak Casino, downtown Sonora, Jamestown and Columbia are also just a short drive away. Yosemite National Park is a 90 minute drive and worth a day trip! Make sure to check each attraction website to plan your trip.

The house is a couple of miles to downtown Twain Harte which has mini-golf, community pool, Eproson park (Music in Park) and all that downtown Twain Harte has to offer. Twain Harte is a small residential community located on SR-108 (Sonora Pass). Although several markets and restaurants are nearby, grocery shopping is best done at the Twain Harte Market (a full grocery store with a butcher, bakery and complete produce section). If you're looking for something more familiar, Safeway in Sonora is 20 mins away.

Greenview Home has a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, cooking appliances, utensils, bowls and dishes. There is also a Keurig coffee pot with provided condiments (creamer & sugar) and tea.

The master bedroom contains a queen bed and a closet to hang clothes. The newly renovated shower is located in the master bedroom. There are hand soap and shampoo & conditioner, but highly recommend bringing your own. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin sized bed. Each room has a 43" Roku TV and a heater unit.

The home, much like other cabins of the 1950s era, does not have central air conditioning and it does get hot during the warmer season. During the winter season, there is a central furnace in the living room with an additional electrical heater and each room has a heating unit.

The front deck and side patio is currently in the process of being furnished (due to supply chain issues and delays), we hope to have the front deck be furnished some time in 2022!

Guest Access:
The entire house is yours! During the winter months (esp. if there's snow) public parking is only available. All other seasons with no snow the driveway can fit one car and public parking is available.

Other things to note:
Please note that ACCESS to the house is ONLY BY STAIRS. Unfortunately there is no accessible route for a wheel chair. No pets allowed in the home ($500 fine shall apply for pets).

Due to the cabins geographical location in the mountains, PG&E will occasionally shut off the power during high wind events to prevent a potential wild fire and during a snow storm. Power outages are out of our control. There is a power outage emergency box with a flashlight, gas stove, kettle, along with other items near the nest system in hopes to make these moments a little less of a burden. Please note while we want your stay to be as comfortable as possible, we do not offer refunds due to power outages.

NO pets. Guest will be charge extra $500 for pets on property.

- "Very nice big house. Comfortable for our family of six. Location was great and close to town. Furnishings nice and comfortable. It did not seem that the house was professionally cleaned. Refrigerator had not been wiped out. Luring coffee maker did not work. Couldn’t find any potholders, so bought two and left at the house. No extra garbage bags in the kitchen. No counter cleaning supplies. Only one role of toilet paper for each bathroom, so we bought some and left spares. Master bedroom mattress should be replaced. Would have used the full size bed in the alcove, but no sheets. All issues easily remedied. That said, we had a very nice four day stay, and left the house in good order. Would stay again, but would be prepared to bring more basic supplies."

Welcome to Haven in the Trees! I am grateful to share my little piece of joy with you and yours. You will be staying in a lovely warm comfortable studio complete with a wee fridge, microwave and all you need to enjoy a light meal. You can relax outside on a private deck absorbing the sounds and sights of nature or you can take a five minute walk into the quaint village of Twain Harte where you can enjoy an espresso, many delicious restaurants and unique shops. Come see for yourself:)

The space
You will park on the street, meander around the garden, under the arch and down the stairs to enter into Haven in the Trees. There is a queen bed and a double futon for your sleeping arrangements. ****If you are a party of 2 and will need the futon made up as the 2nd bed please let us know ahead of time**** You have a private entrance, private bathroom and private deck. Great for a couple, friends or a small family.

When traveling in the winter be prepared for icy, snowy conditions at all times. Check the forecast during your stay. Always carry chains. Be prepared to put them on if needed. The plow doesn’t always make it up our road. You may have to shovel your car out. We lose power sometimes during heavy snow. We have a generator that we can turn on during the day. It may be turned off at night. Stairs may be snowy or icy at times. We will do our best to support you during your stay but know that traveling in the mountains in the winter can be challenging. Be prepared for the adventure!

We have stairs! We ask that you are comfortable descending and climbing stairs with no railing before booking with us.

We do not have an air conditioner. We have a fan. During hot summer months we recommend opening the windows and slider(leave the screen closed) at night to let in the cool air. Then close everything including the blinds and shades in the morning for the heat of the day. This will help keep the room cool. If you are sensitive to heat we are not the place for you.

What is that noise?...
The toilet and shower are on a pump system. Just a heads up, it makes a louder than normal sound when flushing.
I live on the property. You may hear and see me from time to time.

Guest access
The space is attached to the main cabin. But it has a private entrance, private bathroom and a private deck. You might see me coming and going from the main house, feel free to give me a wave. Unless you approach me, you will have a contactless stay.

If you are traveling with children please do not let them play in the stairwell within the room. This insures the safety and privacy of everyone. There is a curtain that blocks the stairs. The door at the top is always locked.

You are welcome to take walks anywhere around the neighborhood. Close by is a ditch system (open water system that supplies household water in Tuolumne County) with miles of trails through the woods.

Our Cabin is a perfect mountain get away. Whether you're visiting nearby Twain Harte Lake, Pinecrest, Yosemite or just wanting to relax & enjoy sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine; You'll find our home a very relaxing and quiet stay with a short 4 min walk to town!

In the winters enjoy a huge wood burning fire place and watch the snow fall in the big picturesque front windows & tall open beamed ceiling.

We are located in a quiet neighborhood to decompress from the hustle and bustle.

Comfortable Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The Cozy Cabin offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom features a King bed, a 3 drawer dresser and a closet with hangers. This room also has an ironing board and iron. If you find the evenings too cold, we do also have a space heater in the downstairs bedroom!

Upstairs, you’ll find the second bedroom, which includes a comfortable queen-sized bed and its own attached bathroom for added privacy. Whether you’re relaxing in bed with a good book or taking a refreshing shower, the upstairs bedroom offers everything you need for a restful stay.

Both Bathrooms, if upstairs or down are both showers only and have shampp, conditioner and body wash.

You'll be staying in our Quiet Cabin, one large room w/two beds, day bed, kitchenette, wood stove & bathroom & AC.

Camp Earnest sits in a ponderosa, cedar & manzanita forest, w/light snow in the winter & mild summers. We have a year round creek & hikes right off our property. Nearby are Dodge Ridge Ski Area, Pinecrest Lake, Calaveras Big Trees SP & Yosemite NP

The space
A cozy cabin to retreat from the world and soak up nature, in a forest near Twain Harte, CA. You'll have your own picnic table and a wood burning stove. We provide artisan coffee and tea, kitchenette basics.

Guest access
The whole cabin is yours and your parking spot is right in front. You can walk around the property and on our trails, though there may be other guests as this is a shared property.

We live in the main lodge. Knock or ring our doorbell if there's an emergency. Otherwise message us through AirBnB if you need anything or have questions.

Other things to note
Always check weather conditions and air quality conditions before you come. We are at 3,500 feet of elevation, which means we get some snow with storms, sometimes just a few inches, sometimes more. We are a great place to stay to ski at Dodge Ridge since we have minimal snow here while up on the mountain it will snow a lot more.

We have a gravel driveway that is passable with 2WD, but in winter conditions you may want 4WD. Please communicate with us when it is snowing or there's a storm.

We have a Level 2 Clipper Creek Electric Vehicle charger with JC 1772 connector located at the RV slip off our main driveway. We kindly ask for a flat rate fee of $30 to charge during your stay. Electric rates are higher here than in cities and we appreciate charging overnight.

We have generator power so are not impacted by power outages, but we limit energy use during these times.

We are a dog friendly campus and allow 2 dogs per unit and ask that you include this in the booking. Please no dogs on the beds. We do not charge a pet fee, however if there is excessive mess and fur it's an $40 extra cleaning charge. Only dogs are allowed, no cats or other animals. Dogs must be kept on leash and not roam the property freely. If you are found to bring a cat it is a $100 charge for cleaning due to common allergies and issues. Please respect our pet rules.

We do our best to keep firewood available next to the lodge at no extra charge, within reason, but cannot guarantee we have a year round supply. Please always practice fire safety and put out fires at the end of the night. We remove fire pits during fire season and county bans, which is typically from June to October.

We live on site in the lodge which is private. We are a small outfit and enjoy our simple mountain life.

Beautiful, quiet and serene, the Mountain House is the place in Twain Harte to spend your vacation. Two private bedrooms and a loft. Whether you like summer or winter activities, the beautiful town of Twain Harte is perfectly situated for both. Dodge Ridge ski resort is 30 minutes as well as Pine Crest Lake. Have a boat? There are many nearby lakes to enjoy. Inside, we have it all. Internet, DirectTv, well equipped kitchen, 2 private bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms. Washer and Dryer available.

The space
Situated on 1.5 acres, there is enough room to accommodate and RV or boat (or both!) Our home is well appointed, will keep you cozy warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. Enjoy the spacious decks and porch during the summer, and yes, we do get snow in the winter! Only a 2 hour drive to Yosemite Valley!

Relax on the front porch with a warm cup of coffee and watch the deer graze in the meadow just a few feet away. The owners have carefully designed this home for your convenience & enjoyment. This cabin offers modern smart home perks, while keeping the comfort of a classic cabin.

The space
Upon entering you will appreciate the open space and beautiful vaulted knotty pine ceilings and skylights. The open concept kitchen, dining and family room make it the perfect place to enjoy family and friends. Take advantage of cooking a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen and watch a show on the 65" TV, or play one of the many board/card games stocked at the cabin. The main area has an additional half bath.
The spacious primary bedroom has a king bed with private bathroom, workspace and TV and is located on the main floor. The other bedrooms are located upstairs. The second bedroom has a queen bed and full bed. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bunk bed. Upstairs has an additional full bathroom.
The backyard has a covered patio with lights. Under the patio is furniture for your enjoyment. The backyard is fully fenced and can be lit up by the accent lights.

Decorated for the holiday season. This smart cabin has a keyless entry system. Back up generator on site in case of power outages.
Bonus game room in the garage area with fooseball table, electronic basketball hoops, dartboard, jumbo size Connect 4, assorted classic video games as well as board games. Fun for the whole family.

My place is in the Stanislaus Forest. The cabin in on 2.5 acres. In the winter you will need to check the local forecast and you might need 4WD with mud and snow tires. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the light, the comfy beds, and the large kitchen. The bathroom was recently remodeled. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. It has two queen beds. This is a perfect place for guests with their horses, as some trails are close.

The space
We are down about 3 miles down gravel forest road. The cabin is not rented when there is snowy conditions on the road. We are 1 hour from Dodge Ridge and 2 hours from Yosemite.

Other things to note
The cabin is down a forest road. Three miles is gravel and can be slow going depending on the condition. Since this is the forest, signage is at a minimum. I recommend using the directions given, not using phone maps and phone directions. Arriving before dark helps with locating the cabin.

The Cabin in the Trees can sleep 6 comfortably.

BEDROOM #1: the eucalyptus bedroom has a king-sized bed + attached bathroom. Includes desk/chair.

BEDROOM #2: the river room has a full-sized bed with a twin size trundle.

LIVING ROOM: pullout sleeper sofa expands into a queen-sized bed.

*Smart TV has multiple apps for entertainment.

OUTSIDE: deck has multiple seating areas - picnic table next to the propane bbq + a bistro set with rocking chairs.

*Propane fire pit located on the front deck.

The space
This cozy studio has 1 bedroom with a queen-size bed and 1 full bathroom. There is a daybed in the living room with a TV to snuggle up and enjoy the winter weather. There is a kitchenette with a mini fridge/freezer, a microwave, and a coffee maker.

Twain Harte Market is a great place to load up on snacks, deli sandwiches and fresh food made daily like hot meals and fresh sushi.

There are several restaurants nearby in downtown Twain Harte as well as down the hill in Sonora and up the hill in Mi Wuk.

Beautiful in summer and a five minute walk to downtown Twain Harte bars and restaurants, mini golf, community park and pool, tennis courts, executive golf course and access to the private and charming Twain Harte Lake in summer. 30 minute drive to multiple lakes and reservoirs for boating. Close to Pinecrest, Dodge Ridge, Leland Snowplay and Yosemite for winter fun and hiking/biking/exploring year round. 20-30 minute drive to skiing, sledding and ice skating in the winter and 5 minutes to summer lake fun. Nearby towns of Sonora, Murphys and Columbia offer further activities, wine tasting, restaurants and nightlife. 2-2.5 hours from SF and most parts of the Bay Area!

Perfect for couples/singles or a small family getaway. Charming Twain Harte studio apartment (sleeps 1-4 with additional baby bed) w/ lake membership access to private Twain Harte Lake, walk to town and very close driving distance to many the many local attractions of the Sierras. Newly renovated with a kitchenette, two large walk-in closets for extra storage space, full bath, beautiful views and central AC and heat.

DETAILED PROPERTY INFORMATION: This private, air conditioned/heated studio apartment retreat with a full bath and a kitchenette is newly designed and sits atop the garage on our property which is used for storage only (you will not hear a garage door during your stay). It's a completely separate guest house with private entry and no shared spaces. The apartment is larger than it looks and has plenty of space to store all your gear, including two large walk-in closets and a long hallway downstairs which could easily store extra equipment you may have with you such as skis or bikes, etc. If traveling with an infant or toddler, the upstairs walk in closet has a curtain only as a door and some guests have even told us it was a great space to setup the pack'n'play so that baby can go to bed without being out in the open. All bedding and towels are provided (please bring your own beach towels) as well as cleaning supplies, paper products, and starter supplies of coffee and plenty of creamer and teas. Please note that the apartment offers a kitchenette with plenty of amenities to prepare some light meals. Included are a mini fridge/freezer (this is fairly good sized and holds much more than your standard hotel mini fridge), a Keurig coffee maker, hot plate, microwave, toaster, countertop oven and all the basic kitchen necessities including dishes, glassware, cookware, tea kettle and utensils. Most items are on the smaller side to account for our cute kitchenette! This is probably not the place to cook a huge very involved meal, but we've had plenty of guests comment that it suited their needs perfectly, even longer term guests. There is not a dishwasher or disposal, but a drying rack, kitchen gloves and washing soap and sponges are provided. There is no laundry access, but there is a laundromat on the corner a 1-minute drive away. The futon would make a bed for two children (or one-two small adults) if desired (extra bedding and pillows provided) and we have lots of baby equipment in the closet if desired including a highchair, booster chair, and pack'n'play infant bed (please bring your own sheets). There is a dining table for 4 as well as a kitchen hutch that can double as an additional space to work or eat. The smart TV and Roku stream bar are wired for high-speed streaming and the apartment is a peaceful and quiet place to work from home with high-speed wifi. Free parking on the side of the house by entry and quick walk to all the amenities of downtown Twain Harte. Access to Twain Harte Lake is included on our membership - please enquire if interested and we will add you to the guest house log. Please be advised that the lake does require an $8/per person fee (this has nothing to do with us, it's the Lake's policy), but the necessary access is provided in our rental. There is an outdoor eating area reserved for our guest house rental guests by the guest house rental entry. The guest house retreat is on the same property as our main house rental offering and others may be at the main home property at any time. Please note that the rental areas are completely separate and distinct and you will be able to enjoy your privacy. There is a shared driveway with plenty of room for all - guest house guests park on the left and main house on the right. Our guest suite would be a great fit for a couple or a family with young children! We love escaping the congested and busy Bay Area to come out to Twain Harte and we hope you will, too!

We have keyless entry and you will be provided with your own unique code upon the start of your trip. We have a large driveway and separate parking space for the rental apartment. We allow two to park in tandem here as the other side of the driveway is reserved for our main home guests and/or property workers.

Guest house renters have full use of the guest house rental area. The main home amenities (front and back fenced-in yards, pool, hot tub, etc. are for our main home renters only. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more about our main home rental, which can be grouped and booked at the same time pending availability.

Comfy double bed plus a futon if needed for additional guests. There is additionally a pack'n'play (please bring your own sheets) and high chair in the closet. Plenty of storage space in downstairs entry for your extra gear. Large walk-in closet. Full bath with shower, close to bed area. Kitchen hutch with supplies and desk area. We charge a $20 handling fee, plus the postage and any other costs involved in getting the item/s returned to you. You are welcome to contact us directly to coordinate personal retrieval if item is found upon checkout.

BBQ
We do provide a gas barbecue located on the deck. Keep in mind that we do not maintain the propane. We recommend you bring up an extra propane tank for backup just in case it runs out. Or you can have the existing exchanged at the Chevron a few blocks away from the cabin.

WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. The Black Cedar Retreat is located on simi steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.

IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.

Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.

Welcome to our newly refurbished Hilltop Apartment at Camp Earnest!

Enjoy this 1 bedroom, 1 bath private home at the top of our property with canyon views and access to our entire 21 acres. Relax at your picnic table and fire pit across from the entrance to your place or wander past the outdoor amphitheater and gardens to Turnback Creek and take a stroll past (or dip into) its many waterfalls.

Local draws include Twain Harte, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Yosemite National Park.

The space
Camp Earnest sits in a ponderosa, cedar & manzanita forest, w/light snow in the winter & mild summers. We have a year round creek & hikes right off our property. Nearby are Dodge Ridge Ski Area, Pinecrest Lake, Calaveras Big Trees SP & Yosemite NP.

Guest access
The Hilltop Apartment is on the left side of the building and you have a your parking spot right in front. Next door is the Hilltop Bunkhouse. You will find it quiet and peaceful since the bedrooms do not share a wall.

You can walk around the property and on our trails and use the area out front, though there may be other guests as this is a shared property.

We live in the main lodge. Knock or ring our doorbell if there's an emergency. Otherwise message us through AirBnB if you need anything or have questions.

Other things to note
Always check weather conditions and air quality conditions before you come. We are at 3,500 feet of elevation, which means we get some snow with storms, sometimes just a few inches, sometimes more. We are a great place to stay to ski at Dodge Ridge since we have minimal snow here while up on the mountain it will snow a lot more.

We have a gravel driveway that is passable with 2WD, but in winter conditions you may want 4WD. Please communicate with us when it is snowing or there's a storm.

We have a Level 2 Clipper Creek Electric Vehicle charger with JC 1772 connector located at the RV slip off our main driveway. We kindly ask for a flat rate fee of $30 to charge during your stay. Electric rates are higher here than in cities and we appreciate charging overnight.

We have generator power so are not impacted by power outages, but we limit energy use during these times.

We are a dog friendly campus and allow 2 dogs per unit and ask that you include this in the booking. Please no dogs on the beds. We do not charge a pet fee, however if there is excessive mess and fur it's an $40 extra cleaning charge. Only dogs are allowed, no cats or other animals. Dogs must be kept on leash and not roam the property freely. If you are found to bring a cat it is a $100 charge for cleaning due to common allergies and issues. Please respect our pet rules.

Campfires are allowed ONLY in metal firepits. We do not keep firewood stocked and ask you to bring your own. Please always practice fire safety and put out fires at the end of the night. We remove fire pits during fire season and county bans, which is typically from June to October.

We live on site in the lodge which is private. We are a small outfit and enjoy our simple mountain life.

Perfect place for all of the outdoor adventures that await you! 6-10 min from Long Barn (depending on conditions, 25 min from Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. 2.5 hr to Yosemite. 2 min to casino. Our home is meant for a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children. This is not a party cabin and best for small families or couples. The grocery store, dining, coffee, golf and other amenities are all a short drive away (you can walk but the roads are narrow). Relax or work remotely while sitting by the koi pond.

The cabin is fully equipped, Keurig included--just bring your clothes and food. Grill is available outside with an outdoor living space.

We now offer level 2 EV charging free with your stay. We have also added an outdoor pizza oven for you pizza aficionados!

Kayaks are available to rent at a daily rate of $25 per kayak. If you use our kayak, we will ask for you to sign a release of liability waiver. Please reach out to us if you’re interested. Transportation of the kayaks would be the guests’ responsibility.

Other things to note
For the 2022 season, Airbnb guests who would like to enjoy the lake, please let us know what dates and we will put you on the Lake List. Airbnb guests will pay $8per guest fee per day for the lake (Twain harte lake pricing/rules).

the Hot tub is available for guest use! Guest specifically accepts ALL liability for use of the hot tub at the cozy bear cabin, and understands that the host/owner of the cozy bear cabin shall have no liability from any accidents, injuries, or death that may result from the proper or improper use of said hot tub. Guest accepts said liability by voluntary use of said hot tub. Only swim attire is allowed in the hot tub; regular clothing will cause debris and could warrant an extra cleaning fee of the hot tub.


Please acknowledge that occasionally, we may leave consumables such as condiments or snacks left behind by previous guests if they are not empty. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale.

HOWEVER, ultimately, it is up to the guests
’ discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables


As of January 27, 2022- we do have outdoor cameras as a safety measure. There is one on the front of the house facing the driveway and one in the back facing the patio.

In the advent of a snow storm, please be advised guest may need to shovel their cars out of the driveway. We have snow shovels available as well as a push plow. We can provide a list of plow services but plowing and shoveling will be the guest’s’ responsibility.

Fairway Apartments right across the street from the Twain Harte golf course. 2 bedroom Apartment within walking distance to downtown, Twain Harte Lake, only 22 miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and 45 miles to the West Gate of Yosemite National Park. Tons of hiking, biking and outdoor adventures in the area. Unit has just been completely painted and refreshed.
