Wooded Retreat is a private studio apartment separate from main house, surrounded by trees and nature. Sitting on your deck you feel as though you in the trees. Watch deer, wild turkeys and rascally squirrels working feverishly gathering pine nuts!! Please feel free to explore the grounds. Walk in the woods, or sit on our man made beach, around the fire pit watching the sunset! Take a nap or read a book from the library on the hammock. Only spaces we prefer you not explore are the garage and main house & deck please and thank you. We have two mountain bikes, and for winter we have two snow sleds ( see pics) available for our guests to use at no extra charge. You must however have a truck or proper restraint system for transporting them. We are approximately 10 min. to Twain Harte, 12 min. to Sonora, 15 min..To Jamestown, Columbia State Park and Airport, 30 min. To Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort depending on weather and road conditions. Phoenix Lake Golf course is a beautiful 9 hole course a very short 1/2 mile from our property, perfect for hitting a quick bucket of balls! We have numerous lakes, hiking/biking trails, and we are approximately 1 hour to the gate of Yosemite National Park.

- "Great cabin!" - "Forest and Ginger's cabin behind their house is a beautiful retreat for vacation. My partner and I stayed in the cabin during our visit to Yosemite; it's about an hour drive to the western park entrance, and about two hours from the cabin to the Yosemite Valley. The cabin itself is very well maintained and has everything you need (outside of an oven/range, but the owners have a nice gas grill outside for your use). We enjoyed walking around Sonora during our day off from hiking and had breakfast at Bon Appetit multiple times (excellent French pastries, quiche, and crepes). Overall, we highly recommend!"

The Bauman House is a circa 1910 bungalow within less than a 5 minute walk to downtown Sonora, CA. This town has a lot of history, great shops, delicious food, hikes, and more.

The home offers the following rooms & amenities:

3 bedrooms - 2 queen beds & 1 double bed. Each bed has a Tuft & Needle medium mattress, mattress cover, medium pillows with protectors and cases, duvet with cover, quilt & throw. There is a closet in every room and a dresser in two of the three rooms.

2 Bathrooms - One bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink, clawfoot tub. The other bathroom has a shower, toilet & sink. Both bathrooms come with towels.

Kitchen - fully stocked with everything you should need to cook a meal. Plates, bowls, drinking glasses, wine glasses, champagne glasses, blender, toaster, stove/oven, fridge, dishwasher, baking dishes, and more.

Sonora is a unique gold rush era town with lots of history and interesting things to see. Sonora is also a convenient base to explore nearby places such as Yosemite, Pinecrest, Columbia State Park, Big Trees, Natural Bridges... and so much more. This property has a separate entrance. Owners live upstairs but the layout of the house is such that there will be no contact. Of course, owners are available if needed. Bed is a Cal King and you have access to a small yard.

It was less than 5 minutes walk from the main street, easy to find, and plenty of parking. The property was the perfect size for two people. We really liked that the kitchen was separate from the sleeping/living room area. Everything was updated - light fixtures, plumbing, appliances, bathroom. The kitchen had everything we needed. The added plus was the Roku/Hulu. We just logged into our Roku account from the tv and watched our shows as if at home. Mark was also great at communicating with us. Answered my questions and the whole checkin/out process was super easy. Overall, will rebook again when next time in town."

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
