*Fishing Pass Info: To fish the private lakes in the community require a fee to Crystal Lakes Base Camp-daily guest fishing passes are available from their office (open 9am - 5pm 5 days a week Tues - Sat and Sun 9am-1pm with exception of holidays). Adult guests (16+) $45; Youth guests (7-15) $25; Age 6 and under free with paying adult. The daily pass is specific to one person for one day. (Limit 3 fish). Cabin is located in the beautiful area of Northwest Colorado, just 45 minutes from Fort Collins, Colorado. Approximately 3400 square feet of pure luxury. Built in 2010. Fabulous lake view tri level property. Ample parking. There are 2 main bedrooms and an enclosed loft area with 2 additional bedrooms that sleep an additional 2 couples plus comfortably. There is a Great room, Play room, well equipped kitchen, dining area, 3 full bathrooms with 2 half bathrooms. There is an inside wood stove to warm and enjoy. Cabin has in floor heating throughout. Wet bars on each main level. Accommodates a relaxing and romantic weekend for 2 or a week of Family fun. Can accommodate up to 9 adults comfortably. Cabin is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, silverware, linen, blankets and everything needed to have an incredibly comfortable stay. Amenities include, but are not limited to : 3 Kayaks, 2 paddle boards, ice augurs, Direct TV, Hughes Net internet, great sound system, bar-b-q, outside propane fireplace, etc.

4WD or AWD is strongly suggested for all guests as the driveway is steep. Snow and/or icy condition may impact access. During harsh weather conditions All Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel Drive IS ESSENTIAL.

Fishing passes can be purchased at Crystal Lakes Office. Current HOA rules do not allow owners to purchase annual renter passes. Permits can be a bit pricey but usually fishing is very good. The cost to stock the Lakes per fish is very expensive.

Due to safety and liability issues ATV's are NOT included in rental. It is recommended that renter's truck or roomy vehicle be considered in using the recreational items.

Cabin is located within 10 minutes of Beaver Meadows Resort which has various winter and summer sports activities including a small shop, a restaurant, horseback riding, tubing, sledding, etc.

Cabin is also located within 20-minutes of Fox Acres Golf Course/Club, an elite Colorado golf facility.

Although the unit was clean, overall comfortable, and cozy, the bed itself (seemed like full size) was too small for my husband and I to sleep in comfortably together (I’m 5’6” 125 lbs, he is 5’ 10” 190 lbs). The mattress didn’t have a lot of support, and unfortunately didn’t make for a restful night. We had a really nice stay overall, and If I were to stay here again in the future I would plan to sleep one to the bed, and one to the pullout couch. "

- "We truly enjoyed our stay at this property! Nothing fancy but not too rustic either. Just right. Best part was the serenity, fresh mountain air and the oodles and oodles of hummingbirds and other wildlife we encountered. We saw pelicans, chipmunks, a bald eagle, hawks, deer, woodpeckers and various other birds. Someone in a cabin nearby said there was a moose in their yard and a juvenile bear was supposedly rummaging around at night but we saw neither of them ourselves. A beautiful lake (Snake Lake) is a 2 minute walk from the cabin. Just a great overall location. The cabin is clean and well equipped. Loved that they had a working pair of binoculars to use as well as a hummingbird feeder with extra hummingbird nectar for refills. The grill worked perfectly and the Brita filter came in very handy. The host is responsive and friendly. We will definitely book again when in the area!"

- "This was a terrific place to stay! We wanted someplace close to fishing and four wheeling that would also suit our group of 5 adults and 2 kids and it was perfect! There was plenty of room both inside and outside for all of us! The kitchen was perfect, the outdoor grilling area was great. The ability to pull through with our trailers was an added bonus. If I had to say one negative was the ice maker in the fridge doesn't work, but there were ice trays so we still had ice! I honestly wouldn't change anything. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we are already looking at our schedules for when we can come back!"

The lodge is tucked away on the back side of Phantom Lake Ranch. This 640 acre ranch is complete with pine forests, meadows, rock outcroppings, tons of wildlife, private hiking trails and various lakes! The lodge is spacious and perfectly designed for large groups. Enjoy time together cooking meals, playing games, enjoying the wood burning fireplace, hiking, exploring and reconnecting with nature.

Come and relax in the lodge's stunning great room! With a vaulted ceiling, wood burning fireplace, and a dining table large enough to fit the whole group, you're sure to have a great time with friends and family without feeling crowded!

The balcony off the living room gives you a full view of the meadow below, where you can watch for moose, deer, turkey and other wildlife. In addition to the indoor dining area, there is a large picnic table located here and the courtyard in the center of the house is perfect to enjoy some meals outside on those raining days.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the food prep materials you need, as well as a selection of spices and plenty of counter space to make cooking meals a breeze.

There are 4 bedrooms tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house. Three of the four bedrooms have attached bathrooms for convenience and privacy, and the last bedroom has a bathroom right next door in the hallway. Bedrooms two and three also have a shared deck to enjoy!

Ready to challenge your friends to an intense ping pong tournament? Do you want to show up your brother in a game of pool, or sit down for a friendly game of poker? Then head on down to the game room! Located in the 3 bay garage, it's easy to fit the whole crew.

While you're staying at the lodge, you have access to the ranches private hiking trails and three small lakes... including the infamous Phantom Lake! One lake is stocked for catch and release fishing (typically stocked the end of May/beginning of June, so don't plan to be successful prior to that). The lakes on the ranch can not be used for recreation other than fishing, but Dowdy Lake and West lake are both less than 10 min away and are perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. There are no swimming areas available in Red Feather, the closest swimming lake is Horsetooth reservoir in Fort Collins.

Bring your frisbee golf discs along to enjoy our private 18 hole frisbee golf course. Or check out some discs from us if this is your first time!

In addition to what Phantom Lake Ranch has to offer (though you could easily spend your whole trip exploring the ranch!), Red Feather Lakes has 4 public lakes for hiking and fishing, a breathtaking golf course in fox acres, and 2 additional frisbee golf courses.

This is a nature lovers dream. This cozy cabin-cottage was built in 1962. It has two bedrooms and one bath with a shower only. It has a large great room and full-size kitchen all packed into 834 ft.² One side of the cabin has a small Aspen Grove and a Spring brook that runs through it. It is in Red Feather Lakes Village, so there are other cabins in this little cabinhood. The village is surrounded by 7 Lakes! There is a dartboard, games, jumbo size Jenga and yardzee, not to mention fire pit and picnic table and a propane barbecue. You can walk to town in 10 minutes where you will find a general store to meet all your needs as well as the post office, Tavern, library and Ace hardware. The cabin has a wood-burning stove and a propane fireplace. There are lots of activities to do in natures playground, such as hiking, biking, fishing, paddle boarding, horseback riding, golfing, hunting, ice fishing, ice-skating, tubing, snowshoeing and more.

There is free firewood in the back woodshed. There are camping chairs in the small shed for your use. Cell service can be spotty unless you use wifi calling. Free Wi-Fi is available at the cabin.

The owner lives on the property in the she shed which is right next door to the cabin on the northside. It is also set back about 20 feet from the entrance of the cabin. owner can be available for anything necessary or you can have complete privacy.

If anything is misplaced, broken or missing or rules not followed your deposit will be forfeited.

- "Lovely outdoor gathering areas; private; quiet" - "We had a great stay! I would have given 5 stars but the beds are pretty uncomfortable. I would DEFINITELY return if I knew they had new beds...if your back is better than mine you'll say 5 stars." - "It's quiet, however isolated. Lacks some amenities. The air conditioning does not work. No iron or iron board. You are asked to wash the towels before you leave after your stay cost the same than an average hotel where you don't have to do this."

Please note; The cabin has construction on the east side with a new deck being remolded, 2025 Ask for details! The cabin as well as the whole community of Red Feather Lakes is located next to wilderness areas. You will likely encounter wildlife, up to and including bear, moose, elk, deer, rabbits, skunks, and mountain lions. Please be aware of your surroundings, and respectful of wildlife! Never feed any wildlife. This cozy cabin is a rustic gem, relax and travel back access to the main road is immediate at the driveway. With so much to see and do in the nature in the Red Feather Lake’s area, please keep in mind there is a minimum of a two night stay but it is highly recommended to go for at least a three night stay!

*More Activities~nearby include bird & wildlife viewing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, snow tubing, and cross-country skiing (the nearby resort 10 min away offers horses, snowshoes, snow tubes and cross country skis for rent). Fox Acres golf club is open to the public in Red Feathers-gorgeous scenery for golfing!

*Meals~A nearby resort offers a fantastic restaurant, and there are also other great restaurants in Red Feathers. We highly recommend Pot Belly!

*Wood stove--After the meal, snuggle in front of the wood stove. If you wish to use the wood stove, you need to bring pre-cut wood and kindling. Red Feather Super and Trading Post in the village sell bundles of wood with kindling.

*Getting there~Please note the majority of the access road is a well maintained paved county road. Part of the road is a dirt road well maintained by Crystal Lakes HOA.

*Winter. 4 wheel drive is highly recommended & sometimes necessary November through April. The weather can change very quickly on the mountain. Please check weather forecast, contact us if questions and plan accordingly.

* Dog Friendly! :) Bring your best buddy (or buddies) with you for your vacation! No need to leave Fido behind or arrange for a pet sitter! No other pets allowed.

Dogs must be at least one year old and must be house trained. Please let owners know when booking your stay how many dogs are in your family that will be joining you. Please bring a blanket for your dog to lay on, as they are not allowed on the beds or furniture. Please pick up after your dog. Please never leave your dog in the home unattended unless they are crated.

*Fort Collins is about an hour drive away, it's a cool town with lots to do.

* Wildlife~Please be aware you are going into wildlife country if you stay at River Song Refuge. This is home to a lot of wildlife, including moose, bobcats, elk, deer, eagles, coyotes, marmots, mountain lions, lynx, black bears and much more.

*No Hunting, shooting, trapping or archery allowed on property. No discharging of firearms on property.

*No Rearranging of Furniture.

*No Smoking inside or outside the home.

*Please keep your pets supervised if under voice command, or on a leash for their safety.

*No ATV/UTVs allowed on any roads in the community or the nearby trails. There are some you can trailer to--check with the Forest Service for specifics.

*Fishing Pass Info: To fish the private lakes in the community and the river in front of the cabin, it requires a fee to Crystal Lakes Base Camp. Daily guest fishing passes are available from their office (open 9am - 5pm 5 days a week Tues - Sat with exception of holidays). Adult guests (16+) $45; Youth guests (7-15) $25; Age 6 and under free with paying adult. The daily pass is specific to one person for one day. (Limit 3 fish for the lakes. The river fishing is fly and lure and catch & release only. River fishing requires a Colorado fishing license in addition to guest fishing pass). Please let owners know if you would like to purchase fishing passes from the office, so we can make arrangements for you to do so. Fines start at $150 per occurrence for fishing the river and/or private lakes without a valid guest fishing pass and will be cause for removal from the property and cancellation of stay.

There are 7 public lakes in the area where fishing is free, they do require a Colorado fishing license.

Snow tubing and cross country skiing available during the winter at the nearby Beaver Meadows resort.

*Snow Tubing!~About 5 -10 min drive away, you will find 12 snow tube runs with lift at the nearby resort, tubing open Thursday-Sunday! Cross country skiing, hiking and snowshoeing out the front door via our private access to the Forest!

Strict speed limit of 20 mph on the neighborhood roads, and 10 mph in front of the community center.

A liability release and agreement to all rental rules will accompany your confirmation.

Larimer County and Crystal Lakes have banned the use of fire pits for all short term rentals—therefore the wood fire pit is not available for guest use.

Built in 1929, Sunflower Cottage was at one time a laundry. It is now a completely remodeled studio-style cabin finished in beetle kill Pine and Aspen. It is set back from the other cabins, giving it a feeling of privacy.

The space
This Red Feather Cabin is nestled on about one acre of tall pines surrounded by summer wildflowers or winter snow. Year-round access on plowed roads. Be prepared for the snow between October and May. Four-wheel drive or AWD is required during snowstorms. We will make sure the driveway is shoveled for your check in. Guest agrees to maintain the drive and stairs during their stay with the provided snow shovels and salt. Add it to the authenticity of the Colorado experience!

The cabin has a bright, open great room with a full kitchen, dining room, living room with a fireplace, and a large pantry. Downstairs, you will also find the main bedroom, bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower, and a washer and dryer. The loft has two queens and one full-size beds and a half-bath to provide room for everyone. Drink your morning coffee on the large deck or small, private decks right outside each of the bedrooms.
Please plan to bring your own propane tank or bring ours into the village to refill as it is often left open and emptied between visits.
Cell service is available with most carriers and new, fast satellite Wi-Fi is provided, so you can stay in touch or work from the property.

Bring your furry friends to increase the fun. Two dogs max. Guest is responsible for keeping dogs off of the furniture, including the leather furniture and beds. Please bring their favorite blanket or use the ones provided to help provide the furniture and bedding. Dogs should never be left in the cabin unattended, unless crated. Since the property is not fenced and wildlife enjoys the property as much as we do, dogs should not be outside unattended. Guests are responsible for cleaning up and taking all pet waste.

The fun doesn't stop in the winter. Use the snowshoes provided or bring cross-country skis to head out for endless adventures. For more fun, nearby Beaver Meadows has rentals, tube runs, ice fishing, a restaurant, and more winter activities for the entire family.

Welcome!! You will find Red Feather Retreat is a spacious , well stocked, 2 level home on a hill at the end of the road. It's very private and quiet and close to the local grocery store, restaurants and other stores in Red Feather. Dowdy lake is a short walk or drive away.

The entry is on the lower level and guests will have to climb an easy set of stairs to get to the kitchen, bathroom and deck.

The lower level has 2 bedrooms, a family room with a TV, an electric fireplace and the laundry room. There is laundry soap and fabric softener provided.

I have added amenities for the little ones. There is a baby gate, a pack-n-play and a baby chair for the little ones to eat with the family. There are also games, toys and books for the kids.

Head upstairs to find a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with a table that will expand for larger groups, a large living room with plenty of seating, the full bathroom and the primary king bedroom.

The living room has a Large TV with ROKU, Netflix, a DVD player, a wood burning fireplace and an electric fireplace. There are games in the kitchen cabinet, and toys in various places in the home.

** Red Feather Retreat is available for the holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!

There are binoculars on the lower shelf of the end table, phone chargers in the kitchen drawer, a fire extinguisher in the kitchen by the trash can and a first aid kit in the bathroom vanity.

The wrap around deck is everyone's favorite place to relax, grill, eat and watch for wildlife passing through the property. There are forest views and mountain views from the deck and it's very private.

There is a shed on the deck that has basic tools, more chairs and other thigs. The key is in the top middle drawer in the kitchen. Please lock it up and return the key.

Please do not leave any food outside. There are bears and they will find it.

Other things to note
Red Feather is in the mountains and we do have mountain wildlife. That includes deer, elk, moose, mountain lions and bears.

Bears are attracted to the smallest scent of food, including hummingbird feeders, half empty cans of soda, trash and any other food item left out.

Please do not leave food out anywhere, including in your car.

Please take your trash with you. Feel free to put hummingbird feeders out during the day but put them in the shed at night.

If you arrive, want to cook on the grill and discover the propane tank empty, there is a second tank in the shed. If it's empty on not there, the grocery store that you passed on the way to the house refills propane. Please take a picture of the receipt and I will
reimburse you.

If you find that you left something behind, let me know and I will send it to you.

There are baby supplies in the closet (room with bunk bed) including a baby gate,
pack-n-play and a baby chair for meals.

Cabin includes:
 * Lake access for playing in the water,  kayaking,  paddle boarding,  and use of picnic area. You must have your guest permission pass on you in this area and anywhere in the subdivision.
 * Fishing -Lake fishing in the subdivision requires purchasing a pass and permission from property owner who you are staying with. Due to the fishing committee volunteers who are eager to give owner fines, we will no longe offer this option to guests. There is a fine if you are fishing without a guest fishing pass therefore No fishing is allowed. And other rules apply. We recommend fishing at public lakes close to the subdivision that only requires a Colorado fishing license or going to Beaver Meadows to fish in there private stocked lake.
-Stream fishing in Panhandle Creek, which is in our subdivision, requires a guest fishing license and a Colorado fishing license. Therefore, the stream running through the subdivision is also not fishable to our guests.
- For fishing, the public lakes in and surrounding Red Feather Lakes Village. You will need a Colorado fishing license. Those Lakes are Westlake, Downey Lake, Parvin Lake and Lake Bellaire.
-Boating, including (kayak, canoe, john-boat) are allowed on the lake. No gas motor boats allowed. Boat cannot have any gas options and be on the lake.  (boats not provided).
 - Hiking trails. You are not allowed to park on any roads in the subdivision. I recommend using hiking trails in and around Red Feather Lakes.

Our cabin sits on just over an acre lot and has a shared driveway with it's own parking area. Please be considerate of neighboring cabins. Do not go on their property and quiet hours are 7pm to 9am.

There are hiking trails close by in the surrounding Redfeather Lakes area. We have a list of those hiking trails in the cabin, inside the blue binder.

Beaver Meadows Resort is about a mile away with a restaurant and bar. They also have winter activities including tubing, ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh, pond hockey, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and Christmas tree cutting.

There are other restaurants in Red Feather Lakes village. there are also convince type grocery stores. I recommend getting your groceries before coming up to the area.

Other things to note
You will need to give me the names of each guest coming with you so I can fill out a Guest Permission Form the HOA requires. You will also need a car sticker pass in your car to be in the subdivision, so I need to know how many vehicles. If I don't tell you your car passes are in the cabin I will tell you you need to stop at the office on your way into the subdivision to get your car guest pass.

The lodge is tucked away on the back side of Phantom Lake Ranch. This 640 acre ranch is complete with pine forests, meadows, rock outcroppings, tons of wildlife, private hiking trails and various lakes! The lodge is spacious and perfectly designed for large groups. Enjoy time together cooking meals, playing games, enjoying the wood burning fireplace, hiking, exploring and reconnecting with nature.

The space
Come and relax in the lodge's stunning great room! With a vaulted ceiling, wood burning fireplace, and a dining table large enough to fit the whole group, you're sure to have a great time with friends and family without feeling crowded!

The balcony off the living room gives you a full view of the meadow below, where you can watch for moose, deer, turkey and other wildlife. In addition to the indoor dining area, there is a large picnic table located here and the courtyard in the center of the house is perfect to enjoy some meals outside on those raining days.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the food prep materials you need, as well as a selection of spices and plenty of counter space to make cooking meals a breeze.

There are 4 bedrooms tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house. Three of the four bedrooms have attached bathrooms for convenience and privacy, and the last bedroom has a bathroom right next door in the hallway. Bedrooms two and three also have a shared deck to enjoy!

Ready to challenge your friends to an intense ping pong tournament? Do you want to show up your brother in a pool game, or sit down for a friendly game of poker? Then head on down to the game room! Located in the 3 bay garage, it's easy to fit the whole crew.

While you're staying at the lodge, you have access to the ranches private hiking trails and three small lakes... including the infamous Phantom Lake! One lake is stocked for catch and release fishing (typically stocked the end of May/beginning of June, so don't plan to be successful prior to that). The lakes on the ranch can not be used for recreation other than fishing, but Dowdy Lake and West lake are both less than 10 min away and are perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. There are no swimming areas available in Red Feather, the closest swimming lake is Horsetooth reservoir in Fort Collins.

Bring your frisbee golf discs along to enjoy our private 18 hole frisbee golf course. Or check out some discs from us if this is your first time!

In addition to what Phantom Lake Ranch has to offer (though you could easily spend your whole trip exploring the ranch!), Red Feather Lakes has 4 public lakes for hiking and fishing, a breathtaking golf course in fox acres, and 2 additional frisbee golf courses.

We're just 5 min away on the other side of the ranch, but give our guests privacy. Unless you request a meet or need us to stop by and assist with something, you're likely to feel a large sense of seclusion. We look forward to hosting you on your next trip!

Other things to note
The ranch is surrounded by national forest. There are 3 other homes on the ranch in addition to the lodge. The closest home is .25 miles away and with such a large property to explore you are not likely to run into others when you are out and about. We graze cattle on the ranch, so you may run into the occasional cow pie ;)
