We got to the Shorehead guesthouse at around 9:30pm, there was a sign on the door to call a number for late check ins, we did and Erroll (I think that was his name) showed up in a couple of minutes, showed us to the room and took our choice of breakfast for the morning, he even moved the outside table and chairs to let me park in front of the house. The guesthouse is right on the bay and we had the most beautiful view from our window. Our room and the whole house looked really new and clean. The breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and Erroll even went out of his way to find me Soy milk, he called it the “funny milk”  we also met his wife Jane in the morning, she is an interior designer and you can tell by the fantastic taste in which the guesthouse is decorated (she picked all the colors and furniture). I highly recommend this location, Erroll and Jane were fantastic and Stonehaven is really a little Gem."

Only 80 metres from the sea and promenade, you can relax and feel at home in our quirky but stylish, recently modernised 3 bedroom listed apartment. We have tried to create a modern feeling in a traditional property - quite simply we love doing up old properties and creating a 'home from home' experience for our guests. The first floor accommodation is on two floors with bright, spacious open plan kitchen/dining /living room area and single cosy bedroom situated on the first floor. Living space/dining area provides adequate seating and the luxury of a SMART TV with Bluray/DVD player. Free wifi is also provided. Our lovingly and painstakingly restored staircase leads up to a bright, stylish twin bedroom with wall mounted TV/DVD player as well as a further attractive double bedroom with luxury bedding, tasteful decor and SMART TV. Please note we have the luxury of an actual three bedroom space so there is no need to make up sofa beds each day as the living room is an entirely separate space. Our recently modernised bathroom offering our guests the use of complimentary products is also located on the upper floor.

No car is necessary, as soon as you walk out the front door, everything is on your doorstep – lovely local little shops in which to browse in, cafes, restaurants, banks, small supermarkets, everything you could wish for. Have a gentle stroll via the scenic route along the promenade, stopping off at Molly’s for a delicious home cooked breakfast, lunch or dinner, or pay a visit next door from Molly's to the Bay Fish and Chip shop (brilliant fresh fish and worth the wait!) You may simply want to relax with a leisurely coffee at the Waterfront Cafe offering dramatic sea views or Molly's on the seafront. If you prefer sample some fine dining at one of Scotland’s best seafood restaurants, The Tolbooth (booking essential) overlooking the picturesque, historic harbour or just sit by the sea with an ice-cream from Aunt Betty’s – (toppings a must!) and soak in the atmosphere, whilst dolphin spotting. Further restaurants, cafes, bars, ice-cream shops, fish and chip shops (including the Carron famous for its deep fried Mars bars) can be found in the surrounding streets and are too numerous to mention you will just keep finding them!

For the children there is the adventure playground, teenagers the skate park and don’t forget to bring your swimming costume for a quick splash in our famous Art Deco Olympic sized heated out-door pool (summer months only) and offering midweek midnight swims. The leisure centre has an indoor pool open all year. We also have a bowling green, putting and tennis courts – there is something for everyone.

If you are feeling energetic you can walk up through Bervie Braes towards Dunnottar Castle - well worth the climb as once at the top the view on a nice day is amazing of Stonehaven Bay. A further five minute walk and passing the war memorial, you will see our iconic Dunnottar Castle in the distance a spectacular fortress ruins where you can take in the breath-taking awesome scenery, imagining life in the 15th century (Part of Hamlet was filmed here starring Mel Gibson) and a “must” visit.

Stonehaven also has one of the oldest golf courses in Scotland which straddles the Highland Fault Line and offers scenic views across Stonehaven Bay towards Dunnottar (visitors welcome any time and we are able to offer discounted prices). Nearby, the sandstone cliffs of Fowlsheugh hold one of Scotland's largest sea bird colonies. View the puffins during their nesting period; a truly memorable experience.

The Little Mill is a former threshing mill which has been converted into a beautiful open plan living space with three floors; a loft bedroom upstairs, open plan living area lined with books, artwork and antiques, and toilet in the middle floor. Have a gentle stroll via the scenic route along the promenade, stopping off at Molly’s for a delicious home cooked breakfast, lunch or dinner, or pay a visit next door from Molly's to the Bay Fish and Chip shop (brilliant fresh fish and worth the wait!) You may simply want to relax with a leisurely coffee at the Waterfront Cafe offering dramatic sea views or treat yourself to afternoon tea at Arduthie House which offers delicious home baking. If you prefer sample some fine dining at one of Scotland’s best seafood restaurants, The Tolbooth (booking essential) overlooking the picturesque, historic harbour or just sit by the sea with an ice-cream from Aunt Betty’s – (toppings a must!) and soak in the atmosphere, whilst dolphin spotting. Further restaurants, cafes, bars, ice-cream shops, fish and chip shops (including the Carron famous for its deep fried Mars bars) can be found in the surrounding streets and are too numerous to mention you will just keep finding them!

For the children there is the adventure playground, teenagers the skate park and don’t forget to bring your swimming costume for a quick splash in our famous Art Deco Olympic sized heated out-door pool (summer months only) and offering midweek midnight swims. The leisure centre has an indoor pool open all year. We also have a bowling green, putting and tennis courts – there is something for everyone.

If you are feeling energetic you can walk up through Bervie Braes towards Dunnottar Castle - well worth the climb as once at the top the view on a nice day is amazing of Stonehaven Bay. A further five minute walk and passing the war memorial, you will see our iconic Dunnottar Castle in the distance a spectacular fortress ruins where you can take in the breathtaking awesome scenery, imagining life in the 15th century (Part of Hamlet was filmed here starring Mel Gibson) and a “must” visit. There is a road-train which operates in the summer months from the Market Square if you don’t feel like walking.

Stonehaven also has one of the oldest golf courses in Scotland which straddles the Highland Fault Line and offers scenic views across Stonehaven Bay towards Dunnottar (visitors welcome any time). Nearby, the sandstone cliffs of Fowlsheugh hold one of Scotland's largest sea bird colonies. View the puffins during their nesting period; a truly memorable experience.

Hello and welcome to our listing for the Snug @ the Mill Inn. This is a new venture for my partner and I and we hope you enjoy your stay in the apartment in the quaint coastal town of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. The Snug reflects both coastal and Scottish themes and is a cosy place for couples and families alike. We have sought to equip the Snug to a high standard and to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for a luxurious, relaxing stay and most importantly fun stay!

The Snug is a bright self-catering apartment which is ideally located within walking distance of the “Auld Toon”, harbour area (where the annual Hogmanay fireball ceremony takes place), Stonehaven beach and the town’s world famous open air pool. Furthermore, Stonehaven market square is also a few minutes away and this is where you will find many local shops and attractions. The Snug is an ideal base for exploring the North East of Scotland and further afield. The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR)/Aberdeen Bypass provides links to various locations in the North East of Scotland.

There are various coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions to visit within close proximity of the apartment.

The apartment is set within a charming Victorian building (a former coaching inn). The Snug has high ceilings and beautiful sash and case windows which reflect its Victorian heritage.

One hundred years ago, the Mill Inn was an important stop for travellers as a coaching inn. Coaches stopped here en route to Aberdeen from Edinburgh and Montrose. Its name derives from the meal mill which stood to the west of the building in what is now the car park. In the late twentieth century the building was converted into the block of flats you see today. There is an art deco bannister inside the building and many other Victorian features.

The Snug boasts 2 good sized bedrooms with a king size bed in each, fresh linen and towels. There are also additional towels provided. There is a private bathroom, with complimentary toiletries, kitchen with a Tassimo coffee machine and living room with a smart TV with Netflix and BT TV. All of these rooms are for the exclusive use of guests in the Snug.

The property benefits from a newly installed oil filled heating system, fans in each bedroom, fresh decor and new flooring throughout. A new washing machine and fridge freezer were also recently added. There is a secure entrance system to the apartment for your added piece of mind.

- "The Snug is in the perfect location for exploring waterfront Stonehaven. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops, and very near the start of the walking trail that goes from Stonehaven to the war memorial and Dunnottar Castle. The flat itself is adorable - brightly decorated with lovely Scottish touches. We were a family of two adults and one preteen, and it was a good fit. The kitchen has items to store and prepare food, which we did several of the days. It was great having our own dedicated parking spot as well. My only suggestion for the flat would be a window covering for the purple bedroom that better blocks the light, but we made do. :). We found it really nice to open the windows and prop open the front door for a bit, to enjoy a nice Scottish breeze. When we come to Stonehaven again, we will definitely consider renting The Snug again."

This compact family home is located in a quiet residential area next to the train station just outside the centre of the popular holiday town of Stonehaven. The Station Hotel is a 2-minute walk and a Tesco Express is five minutes away. The town centre is a brisk 10 minute walk with all the amenities including shops, restaurants, coffee and ice-cream shops, fish-and-chip shops and the famous harbour area just a 15-20 minute walk. Feanna is a beautiful light and airy stable conversion lovingly handcrafted from recycled and restored materials.
This little house is a bright and cosy self contained holiday home on a quiet small holding in historic North Kincardine. We live here with our three children and my husband's parents. We run a busy tree nursery on the farm.
We are ideally situated for both Aberdeen and Stonehaven (about 8 miles from each ) and we are right on route 1 of the Scottish National Cycle Network.

The space
The flat has an open plan living area comprising of living room with a dining area and fully equipped mini kitchen. There is a washing machine in our utility space just across the track and you will find laundry liquid there that you are welcome to use.

There is a TV and DVD player and we have a huge number of movies and books that you are welcome to borrow from our library which is next door. We just ask they you put them back when you leave.
Our internet connection is frankly poor! We have plug in boosters in our apartments so the WiFi connection can sometimes work but is weak and affected by cloud cover and the wind so please be prepared for an inconsistent connection at best. The phone signal is patchy to non existent indoors too (granite walls) so if you fancy partially unplugging for a while, this is the place for you!

The main bedroom is upstairs so you will have to be able to climb stairs to get to it. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a huge restored victorian bath and shower. It is quite a step up to get into it but we provide a little step to help you in for a luxurious soak!

The sofa in the living room also folds out into a large double bed. All bedding is provided and towels too. We can also provide a cot and high chair if you need them and a stair guard for those with young children. There is also a wee sleeping platform above the bed in the upstairs bedroom, ideal for a child.

You will find food for breakfast in the kitchen - teas, coffee, bread, butter, jams and cereals and milk, perhaps eggs if our chickens are laying. We can provide dairy free milk on request.

We do welcome well behaved dogs at an extra charge of £5 per dog per night payable to us in cash or by transfer at some point over your stay. We ask that you keep them on a lead around the farm as we have free roaming chickens, ducks and a goose and that you pick up after them. We have plenty of woodland areas for walks.

There is plenty of parking on the farm and there is usually someone about who will be able to answer any queries you may have. We can also recommend places to eat and things to see in the local area.

There is a small seating area outside Feanna on the courtyard side that you are welcome to use though it is not private and looks onto a building site. It is not a garden! The adjacent deck is not to be used during or after rain as it becomes very slippy. The farm has some beautiful woodlands that you are welcome to explore.

Other things to note
We would really appreciate it if you could look after our flat. There are many original art works on the walls (my mother in law is a painter) so we'd appreciate if you could take care around them and let us know if anything gets broken during your stay so we can replace it.
We also have our own water supply and purification system. The water is delicious but can very occasionally look a little yellow, especially after very heavy rain. This is a result of the peat in the surrounding area and is in no way harmful. We provide you with bottled water to use with the iron.
We also have a dry (unsecured) storage space for bicycles.

Guests are situated in a great location for exploring stonehaven and surrounding areas. World famous Dunnottar castle is a 5 minute drive away as is Stonehaven town centre and harbour where you will find an array of local shops, restaurants, pubs and many leisure facilities including paddle boarding, sea safari, outdoor swimming pool, golf course and tennis courts.
Stonehaven harbour is a beautiful place to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a coffee or a locally brewed pint.

This is a delightful small main door flat ideally located in the town centre close to the market square, with all amenities on hand.

The property may not be suitable for people with limited mobility as the kitchen is split level with two small steps.
There are also six steps down to the back patio area with no handrail . There is however a side entrance to the garden area which is completely flat.
