The Flat is a bright and cosy self contained holiday home on a quiet farm in historic North Kincardine. We live here with our three children and my husband's parents and we have a busy tree nursery and vegetable gardens.
We are ideally situated for both Aberdeen and Stonehaven (about 8 miles from each ) and we are right on route 1 of the Scottish National Cycle Network.

The space
The flat has a large open plan living area comprising of living room with wood burner, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and dining room. There is a utility space with washing machine and tumble dryer.

There is a TV and DVD player and we have a huge number of movies and books that you are welcome to borrow from our library which is next door. We just ask they you put them back before you go.

Our internet connection is via a rooftop arial. We have boosters in the house. Sometimes the wifi works fine but sometimes it really doesn't. It is affected by the weather. Expect inconsistent at the very best! The phone signal is patchy indoors too (granite walls) so if you fancy partially unplugging for a while, this is the place for you!

The main bedroom is on the ground floor with the bathroom next door but the second bed (double sofa bed) is up an opposite tread staircase so is not suitable for folk with limited mobility. We can provide a stair guard for families with young children.

The sofa in the living room also folds out into a large double bed. All bedding is provided and towels too. We can also provide a cot and high chair if you need them.

You will find food for breakfast in the kitchen - teas, coffee, bread, butter, jams and cereals and milk, perhaps eggs if our chickens are laying. We can provide dairy free milk on request.

Guest access
There is plenty of parking on the farm and there is usually someone about who will be able to answer any queries you may have. We can also recommend places to eat and things to see in the local area.

There is a small deck area with seating outside the Book House on the courtyard side that you are welcome to use though it is not private and looks onto a building site. It is not a garden! It is also not suitable to use when it has been raining as it gets very slippy.The farm has some beautiful woodlands that you are welcome to explore.

Other things to note
We would really appreciate it if you could look after our flat. There are many original art works on the walls (my mother in law is a painter) so we'd appreciate if you could take care around them and let us know if anything gets broken during your stay so we can replace it.
We also have our own water supply and purification system. The water is delicious but after heavy rain it can sometimes look a little yellow. This is a result of the peat in the surrounding area and is in no way harmful. We provide you with bottled water to use with the iron.
We also have a dry (unsecured) storage space for bicycles.

The Cottar House is perfectly situated in rural Aberdeenshire where it's close to the lovely seaside resort of Stonehaven. We are on the doorstep of Royal Deeside and only a 15 minute drive to Aberdeen, the beautiful Granite City. We have our full STL licence.

The space
We hope that our cottage will suit couples looking for a quiet escape as well as families looking for adventures or a home from home if you’re working nearby.
We have 3 bedrooms, one has a kingsize bed, one has a double bed and the third bedroom has a small double bed which is suitable for 1 adult or 2 children sharing. There are smart TVs in all bedrooms.

Enjoy our multi-fuel Morso stove which is suitable for smokeless fuel or well seasoned hard wood.
We provide complementary wood for your first night.

We can provide a Nuna travel cot with extra mattress insert, mattress protector and cot sheets are also provided. We have high chair available on request, also a stair gate which can be fitted to any bedroom doorway.

Our internet service is via 4g signal. It is generally very reliable but it is out with our control if there are issues with the mast.

We do not have EV facilities for charging cars.

Spacious Self-Catering Holiday Home, 2 bedroomed traditional style cottage set in extensive grounds, originally part of a large stable building for Dunnottar House. Set in the quiet and tranquil location of Dunnottar Woods on southern edge of Stonehaven. Fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities you would expect including dishwasher. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Ample parking for 2 or more cars. On the south side approach to Stonehaven. Harbour and town centre within walking distance.

The space
There are lovely woodland walks accessible from behind the garage buildings to the far right of the steadying. You can access the town through these woods.

It's a good centre point for accessing many of the attractions, being within close proximity to the dual carriageway, scenic coast road and castle trails, hill walking, whiskey trails etc

Aspen Lodge is a cosy cottage situated just 10 miles south of Aberdeen. The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout and provides an ideal base from which to explore the north east of Scotland.

The space
The cottage sleeps up to four guests with two bedrooms downstairs and two bathrooms. Upstairs there is a large lounge with comfortable leather sofas and a wood burner. Next to that there is a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a utility room downstairs. The cottage is fully heated, and all linen and towels are provided. The cottage is set in its own grounds and overlooks a small pond teeming with wildlife.

Located one mile from the picturesque village of Catterline, the Boathouse offers impeccable accommodation set in the spectacular Aberdeenshire countryside. It is a delightful upside-down house specially designed to take advantage of the breath-taking views. The upper floor is a continuous lounge /kitchen/ diner, - perfect for family time, with an open gable to watch the fantastic wildlife and keep you entertained every minute of the day. Downstairs there are three bedrooms and bathroom.

Other nearby attractions are the RSPB bird sanctuary at Fowlsheugh, Dunnotar Castle, Drumtochty Glen & Cairn o Mount, Stonehaven and the fishing villages of the Kincardineshire coast. A little further to the South is the beautiful St Cyrus beach and inland, the Angus Glens. There are several cycle routes on the door-step and a charming fairy glen built by our local groundskeeper Willie.

Northend Cottage situated in the Village of Catterline, near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland is a stunning 2 bedroom self catering cottage that offers the perfect peaceful get away or a comfy and cosy base for your evenings after a day of exploring beautiful Aberdeenshire.

The incredible Dunnottar castle is all of 5 minutes away, with the city of Aberdeen 25 minutes and the city of Dundee 45 minutes.

The space
The cottage has a small garden to enjoy and a private entrance with parking for one car.
The kitchen is fully equipped and we will help you get settled in with tea, coffee milk and some fresh free range eggs from our local farm. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, hob and microwave.
There is one bathroom with a bath/shower and is situated downstairs.
The dinning room has beautiful views out to sea while the living room has a functional wood burning stove. Logs are supplied.
The sun porch is small but perfect for an early sunrise over the bay and Todhead Lighthouse.
Upstairs there two bedrooms. One with a king size bed the second bedroom had 2 double beds.

We are dog friendly!!
However there will be an additional £15 charge per dog per night to help cover the extra cleaning required. We ask that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Thank you.
If in the unfortunate case of your dog scratching, chewing or urinating in the cottage we will require you to pay for any damage caused.

The space
I lovingly renovated the cottage, blending original stone and wooden features with modern touches. The semi-open plan space includes a large, cozy living room, a rustic kitchen, and a spacious dining area.

Upstairs, you'll find a traditional loft bedroom with ample space for relaxation and a convenient 2-piece toilet. Downstairs, enjoy a large wet room with underfloor heating, a walk-in shower, and a clawfoot bathtub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

Outside, relax in the reading nook or the enclosed garden, where you can listen to the sea. The garden is fully enclosed, making it safe for well-behaved dogs, unless they’re jumpers!
