- "We are just home from a fabulous week at The Wee Belter (2 adults & 2 kids under 9). The location is just wonderful, you can hear the waves as you fall asleep and stroll down to the beach anytime (which is virtually out the back door) and a 5 min drive from beautiful Dornoch. The house is small but full of charm and has everything you need. I’d imagine in the colder months it would be very cosy with the fire on. The master bedroom has a bit of wow factor with the view and the kids room was great for their age group with the bunkbeds. There was extra storage in the garage which we didn’t need but useful if we stay again and bring our bikes. The owner was particularly friendly and helpful through text messages and when we met on our final day. Lovely family to deal with and we would be delighted to stay again."

- "Love at first sight is an overused phrase. But for us seeing the cottage in the distance as we drove across the Mound on the A9, it really was. The cottage was perfect in every sense. Cozy, comfortable and set with stunning views all around. The owner has equipped with everything you need to make this a perfect holiday home and the bonus of very comfortable beds at the end of the day. There are so many great walks in the area that coming back to the fantastic hot tub makes it all worth while. Communication with the owner was first rate, who answered any questions we had quickly and diligently. I really cant recommend a stay at the Sluice Keepers Cottage enough. An added bonus for us was that we saw our first Otter and also several sightings of the amazing Ospreys. I never got tired of sitting on the seat outside the cottage viewing the Loch and all its wildlife. Do yourself a favour if your in need of a recharge. Travel North and stay here. Fantastic."

- "Lower Whinhill is a warm, clean and comfortable cottage with lovely views across the Dornoch Firth. We particularly enjoyed watching the wide variety of birdlife in the vicinity, ranging from chaffinches, yellow hammers, hooded crows and a pheasant in the garden to oyster catchers and lapwings in the fields beyond. Dornoch itself is a charming place, with lots of little shops to explore, not to mention the beautiful cathedral with its stunning stained glass windows and the wonderful beach with plenty of rock pools at low tide. One highlight of our time in Dornoch was the excellent pipe band and Scottish dancing performance on Saturday evening in the main square; these performance take place every week during the summer, weather permitting, of course!"

The cottage is filled with antique furniture and art from years of travel in Scotland and pays homage to the country charm that is quintessentially the Highlands. While traditional in its core, Dun Brae affords all of the luxuries and comforts of a fine 21st century country home.
