Riverside Cottage was one of Ballater's earliest buildings and when Karl first visited it, it had gone to ruin. The property has now been comprehensively but sympathetically renovated and offers a cosy yet spacious home away from home with all the usual modern amenities & more in a great location to explore Ballater and all of Deeside.

The two-story house sleeps up to 6 & has a comfortable lounge with 2 large sofas & a woodburning stove, a spacious kitchen, a garden view room with dining & seating area, cloakroom, and toilet downstairs. The bathroom & 2 bedrooms can be found upstairs, a super king double room & a twin room, which can be converted to a super king, both have bedside cabinets and wardrobes. Glen Muick is a beautiful 15 000hA estate on the Eastern Cairngorms between Balmoral and Glen Tanar.
Grouse, Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Osprey, Red Deer, Roe Deer, Otters and much much more are found in abundance on these estates.
The Mill is south facing with views south down Glen Muick towards Lochnagar and The Coyles of Muick. North are views up Gairn Shiel and Morven.
Crofts Mill is a large solid traditional 18th Century Mill building over 3 floors and was restored in 2008. All the rooms are generously proportioned and no new window openings were required. All the original 2 foot thick stonework has been kept with the original window and door openings used.
Enter into the large dining kitchen with a 6 seater dining table looking out onto 8 foot wide patio doors, these lead out onto the patio with picnic table and benches.
The kitchen leads up to the sitting room with north and east facing windows and a southerly large 5' wide window which would have originally been the loading door the cart would have delivered the barley to the Mill. Leather sofas, 48" tv, dvd, denon hifi.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms both with ensuite.
Downstairs is a twin bedroom and utility room with freezer, tumble dryer, ironing board, internal clothes line, boiler and washing machine.

Braemar village nestling amongst heather covered hills, is the setting for the annual Highland Gathering, also Braemar Castle with its barrel-vaulted ceilings, underground prison and central tower with spiral staircase, has much historical interest. The area abounds with castles, including Balmoral, the Scottish baronial mansion which has been a royal residence since 1852. The Royal Family traditionally spend their summer holidays here, and the grounds are ideal for walking and pony trekking. Dunnottar Castle is one of Scotland’s finest ruined castles, a huge 9th-century fortress set on a three-sided sheer cliff jutting into the sea, with dramatic views out to the crashing sea.

Well worth a visit is the Cairngorm Whisky Centre in Tomintoul (1 hour), with its tasting room offering more than 1,000 brands of whisky.

There is extensive hill walking and challenging mountain climbing opportunities from the door and in the winter months if sufficient snow, good skiing at Glenshee (20 mins). For those who do not wish to climb the mountains but still want to see the awe inspiring views, take the chairlift at Glenshee to the observation point a short distance from the top of the Cairnwell mountain. Hayfield Cottage is a category C listed cottage built in approx. 1850, and fully renovated between 2015 and 2017. It is located on Auchendryne Square in Braemar, a few hundred yards from The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park where the annual Braemar Gathering takes place.

Hayfield Cottage is fully insulated and centrally heated. The two wood burning stoves aren't needed to keep the house warm and cosy, but they can be a welcome addition in the winter.

Thornbank is a snug and simple timber built holiday cottage in the heart of the village of Braemar.  Paragliding, mountain biking, skiing, walking or perhaps a relaxing holiday at one with nature?  Here you can indulge in all the activities that the Upper Dee Valley and Cairngorms National Park have to offer, then return to a cosy hearth and home.

We are located in the centre of the village, but set back behind the road in a quiet spot with woods to the rear.

The cottage dates from around 1890. The lounge-dining room has a cosy log burner in an old stone chimney breast, and a small writing desk. Thornbank is small but comfortable, sleeps 4 and and has everything you need for a break away from the stresses of daily life.

Grampian Cottage is a traditional Victorian cottage that has been extended to create a spacious and comfortable holiday home for families or groups of friends. It has a large south facing enclosed garden with pine trees, a fire pit and a summer house. There is direct access onto the hillside and to the duck pond. It is less than ten minutes to walk to the centre of the village. The cottage has 2 wood burning stoves, oil fired central heating and an Aga.

The house has ample space for everyone. A spacious kitchen leads onto the garden room and there is another sitting room with Sky TV.
