Cosy cabin-style cottage sleeping up to 6 people in the grounds of the owners' own cottage but completely independent. The cabin has two double and one twin bedroom, a living room/kitchen and bathroom and is all on one level. The cabin has wrap-around decking, use of the extensive garden and plenty parking. There is a gas barbeque for guests' exclusive use. The cabin is in the village of Braemar with excellent hiking in the summer from the door as well as being 20 minutes from Glen Shee for winter ski-ing. Shops, restaurants and the bus are all close by. The recently-renovated Fife Arms is just along the street - check it out at - great pub food, live music, formal dining and a cocktail lounge. A great new addition to the village!
We are happy to accommodate children by supplying a travel cot and high chair. The large, wilder part of the garden behind the chalet does have a pond and this part of the garden is fenced off.

If you have an electric car, there are two charge points in the village, one beside the toilets in the main car park behind the butcher, and the other in the car park opposite the Invercauld Hotel (opposite side of the road). They are pictured in the property listing's photos. Please let us know if you can't use these chargers as we can run a line from the shed for you. There will be a £15.00 fee for each time you charge your car at the cabin, based on RAC data.

A cosy and traditionally decorated self-catering holiday cottage, Gairnshiel can accommodate groups, families and couples. Ideal for a relaxing break in Royal Deeside.

Gairnshiel Cottage can comfortably sleep six people. The cottage is spacious and is tastefully decorated to a high standard, with a traditional Scottish theme.

There are two good-sized upstairs bedrooms, one king-size with en-suite shower room and one twin-bedded room. Downstairs there is a double bedroom which is located next to a shower room. Each bedroom has a wardrobe and plenty of storage space. There is a hairdryer and all linen and towels are provided.

Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with seating for six people and a woodburning stove which is very welcoming after a day outdoors. There is a Smart TV, Bose bluetooth speaker and games and puzzles for all ages. Gairnshiel's well-equipped kitchen is open plan with the lounge, separated by a breakfast bar. There is a fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. The dining room is also open plan with the lounge to suit modern living.

The lounge opens out onto a large patio area with a seating for al fresco dining. The south facing garden is a fabulous suntrap, the sun can be enjoyed from early morning to the last rays in the evening. There is access to a large lockable shed - perfect for guests to store bikes or golf clubs etc.

There is off-street parking directly outside the cottage.

Sunnybrae is a beautiful highland house with full modern gas central-heating and hot water.

It stands in its own secluded sunny garden of 1/2 acre with easy access ( about 5 mins walk ) to the village of Braemar in the Scottish Highlands. Faces due south, and has double glazed windows looking out on magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Walks lead directly to the moors and hills, or down to the river Dee; close by are Balmoral Castle, Ballater and, of course, the Cairngorms. Braemar is excellently situated as a base for hill walking, golf ( 18-hole golf course), touring, skiing, fishing or simply a peaceful holiday at any time of the year.

The tiny house is located on a small steading nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms, on the edge of beautiful Ballater. As you enter you will see an old stone building and a newly landscaped wildflower garden. It has been planted with native wildflowers and will provide a habitat for local wildlife.

At the steading, we are trying to build unique, low-impact sustainable holiday accommodations, with high-quality design and materials for our guests. The tiny house is newly built and 100% finished. However, you may notice other projects on the property which are not completed to the same level as the tiny house, though, this should not impact or disturb you during your stay, whatsoever.

The tiny house is perfectly situated to access all that the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside have to offer. Walking trails, hiking, golf, mountain biking, skiing and other outdoor activities are all on your doorstep.

The accommodation is located a mile and a half to Ballater. You can either drive or walk along the much loved 7 bridges walk to get to the village. Here you can find a selection of café’s, restaurants and pubs, or possibly a bit of local independent shopping. If you want to visit the Queen, Balmoral Estates is a stone’s throw away. Balmoral and Royal Lochnagar Whiskey distillery are only 6 miles away. Also close by is the Historic Town of Braemar.

FYI: We did it all on public transportation, (without renting a car) and for those considering, this is what it was like: The four of us took a train to Aberdeen, and then took the 201 bus (same station as the train station) from Aberdeen right to the driveway of the rental. We bought a few groceries at the Aberdeen train station to get us over for a day. We were travelling with backpacks, and the 1.5 - 2 mile walk into Ballater to get groceries in the backpack was easy, beautiful, and a pleasant activity for me. However, I could have used the 201 bus (bus drivers are happy to let you off and pick you up even if it's not specifically a bus stop), just get the location (description) from the host. Glenbardie Bothy was formerly a stable and garage, and was renovated to a high standard and offers on the ground floor, a large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, off which is a utility room, a bedroom and a bathroom. Two further bedrooms and a shower room are found on the first floor accessed by a handcrafted wood staircase.

The ground floor has underfloor central heating, and upstairs there are electric radiators.

Glenbardie Bothy is fully equipped had has an induction hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The latter being in the utility room, where there is a second sink.

Glenbardie House is the perfect places to explore Royal Deeside, the Cairngorm National Park and the Highlands. Set at the foot of Craigendarroch Hill, you will find Glenbardie House peaceful yet close to amenities, with Ballater centre just a 600m walk away.

The house sleeps up to 12 people in six bedrooms and has six bathrooms. It is possible to rent Glenbardie House with Glenbardie Bothy.

The house is comfortably furnished and well equipped, with Sky Sports package, Wifi, garden furniture and BBQ.

Ground floor accommodation comprises of a sitting room, a dining room, a games room with pool table, an suite twin bedded bedroom, a kitchen, off which is a utility room, and a shower room with toilet.

The first floor is accessed by a staircase leading from the tartan carpeted hallway. You will find four bedrooms of which two have king sized beds with ensuite shower rooms. The other two bedrooms have twin beds and a wash hand basin. They share a bathroom, with a shower over the bath.

In the mornings, take in the spectacular views from bed outside the large windows. In the evening, sit outside on the lovely deck or soak in the shared hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine or a wee dram while basking in the beautiful surrounding nature. The cabin can sleep up to four guests. Two guests on a king-sized bed on the ground floor and two in the double loft bed. The loft bed is accessed with a ladder as seen in the photos and is suitable for children or agile adults. The cabin has a small kitchen equipped with the essentials including an air fryer, a gorgeous outdoor dining and seating area and a beautiful bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The cabin was designed with sustainability in mind, boasting features such as an eco shower, for the water conscious among us. The cabin is kept cozy and warm as it’s extremely well insulated. A unique and beautiful mural and bouldering wall has been fitted on the back of the cabin for some extra fun!

There is also a hot tub for you to get the full relaxation experience in! The hot tub is shared with our other guests at the steading. You are welcome to use it at any time after 10 am until 9pm to soak and enjoy the scenery. We just ask all our guests to be respectful of each other. The forest view cabin is located on a small steading nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms, and on the edge of beautiful Ballater. As you enter you will see an old stone building, a tiny house on the left and a second tiny house to the right of the cabin. A lovely wildflower garden, which will be in full bloom by spring has been planted with native wildflowers and will provide a habitat for local wildlife.

At the steading, we are trying to build unique, low-impact sustainable holiday accommodations, with a community feel and high-quality design and materials for our guests. The cabin and tiny houses are newly built and 100% finished. However, you may notice other projects on the property which are not completed to the same level and our staff members, though, this should not impact or disturb you during your stay.

The cabin is perfectly situated to access all that the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside have to offer. Walking trails, hiking, golf, mountain biking, skiing and other outdoor activities are all on your doorstep.

The accommodation is located a mile and a half to Ballater. You can either walk along the much loved 7 bridges walk, take the 201 bus or drive to get to the village. Here you can find a selection of café’s, restaurants and pubs, or possibly a bit of local independent shopping. If you want to visit the Royal family, Balmoral Estates is a stone’s throw away. Balmoral and Royal Lochnagar Whiskey distillery are only 6 miles away. Also close by is the Historic Town of Braemar.

A cosy and traditionally decorated self-catering holiday cottage, Beechwood can accommodate groups, families and couples. Ideal for a relaxing break in Royal Deeside.

Beechwood can comfortably sleep eight people. The cottage is spacious and is tastefully decorated to a high standard, with a traditional Scottish theme.

There are four good-sized upstairs bedrooms, two king-size rooms with shared shower room and two double-size rooms with shared bathroom (shower above bath). Downstairs there is a further shower room. There is a hairdryer and all linen and towels are provided.

Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with open plan dining with seating for six people and an open fire. Beechwood's well-equipped kitchen is open plan with the family area to suit modern living and has a Smart TV, Bose bluetooth speaker and games and puzzles for all ages. There is a fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. To complete the family room there is a wood-burning stove which is very welcoming after a day outdoors.
The large west facing garden is a fabulous sun-trap, the sun can be enjoyed from mid morning to the last rays in the evening. There is access to a large lockable shed - perfect for guests to store bikes or golf clubs etc.

Completely refurbished recently, with 3 bathrooms and oak flooring throughout, comfort privacy and relaxation are easy to enjoy here. Artists may wish to paint with the splendid light and views in the sun room. The home is surrounded by the heather clad hills of the Morrone Conservation area where golden eagles soar and red and roe deer regularly frequent hence the house name.
Only weekly lets, including all linen, electricity, central heating and logs for the woodburner, are from Saturday to Saturday for up to eleven people, with two double en suite bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a double and bunk room and a family bath/shower room . Entry to the house is via a large fitted bench boot room into an open plan kitchen sitting dining room ( with stepped access from two side doors to the patio for bbq's and garden) and leading to the sun room with the utility room including tumble dryer, completing the accommodation.

Asda delivers to us daily, only orders with alcohol need signing for, specify deliver to the kennels but there is a full range of shops in the village (butcher co op pharmacy).
Guests are welcome to use the hard court, vicarage tennis only ! , bicycles and the table tennis table in the garage and the range of 4 individual dog kennels, leaving them clean, as no pets are allowed in the house.

Of traditional design the charming detached granite built cottage was extended in 2014 with a substantial timber framed, and clad, extension to the rear.

- "We loved this little house in Ballater! Everything in it feels new, clean and updated, but the house itself has wonderful character and fits right into this village from the past. It could not be better located. We could walk to coffee shops, the visitor's center, the Coop (grocery store), bike rental, restaurants and shops. Also, we went straight from the house to two great hikes: Seven Bridges & Knock Castle, and Craigdendarroch. Beautiful! The house is also quite close to Muir of Dinner National Nature Reserve where there are more trails, and Balmoral which is a very enjoyable day. We cooked in the house kitchen everyday, and did laundry with no issues. (There is a washer, but no dryer, so make sure you have time to hang dry your laundry.) The TV is a smart TV so we were able to log in to our Amazon Prime Account and Netflix. The beds are very comfortable, and it was nice to have two full bathrooms. For any Americans wary of driving on the wrong side of the road, this plan worked great for us: We flew into Edinburgh, stayed there for a night, took the train from Waverley to Dyce Station near Aberdeen, and rented a car at the Aberdeen airport. That way, it was only an hour's drive to Ballater, and there were not a lot of cars on the road. The driving was not hard. There are plenty of nearby historic sites, hikes and farms, but you do need a car to see it all. We highly recommend this VRBO!"

The Holt is a small wooden cabin situated on the Snow Road route through Aberdeenshire, in the catchment of Royal Deeside and close to Balmoral. It sits within our property but is detached from the main house with it's own decking and private space. Numerous munros and hills are accessible within an easy drive or bike, winter skiing at Glenshee orThe Lecht ski centres, and endless hiking or walking. Ballater and Braemar villages are popular tourist stops.

The space
The Holt offers comfortable basic accommodation. It has a bedroom with one double bed, with shelving providing storage within the room. The sofa bed offers another very comfortable double bed, although the place is fairly small for four adults.

The sitting room and kitchen are open plan and look out onto the garden. The kitchen has a two ring induction hob for basic cooking, a small airfryer and a microwave. The fridge is standard below counter size, with a small separate freezer. We provide pots, pans and other essentials, as well as crockery for four and a slow cooker. Please note that there is no oven. There are small amounts of tea, coffee and sugar, cooking oil, olive oil and salt available.

It is important to be aware that the water is spring fed directly from the hill. We have recently installed a UV filter and the water is tested annually. You may prefer to bring your your own drinking water or boil before consumption.

There is a wifi with unlimited data, and a small TV with firestick which you can use to access your own streaming. The wifi runs from the local mast which can be affected by poor weather, particularly when there are high winds or heavy snow - the wifi is therefore not guaranteed.

Please note that The Holt does not have central heating, and it is heated only by a woodburner which works very well and warms the place up quickly. A basket of logs is provided and more wood can be purchased from us. You will need to bring your own fire lighters, matches and kindling needed to get the fire started, as I do not provide these. Feel free to bring your own wood (it takes only dried wood, and no peat or coal). Please note you use the stove at your own risk.

Following feedback from guests, we have installed a much larger hot water tank for the shower.

The Holt sits within our garden and is adjacent to sheds for which we require constant access. There is a recently constructed decking area for sole use by guests, with an outside table.

Please note that the Holt sits within our garden. Guests are welcome to use the part of the garden around the Holt, where there is an outside table, and the decking is for your sole use. We ask that guests do not wander around the rest of the garden and particularly not around the back of our house.

Other things to note
When two guests are booked in, we assume you only require the double bed to be made up. We request an additional £20 one off charge when two guests are booked and require the sofa bed to be made up. This is to cover additional costs and is payable in cash or via the Airbnb Request or Send Money tab. Please let me know in advance if you need to have the sofa bed made up as well. Please note this only applies where two guests are booked in. There is no additional cost when 3 or more guests are booked on the system.

The property sits within the garden of our home which is in constant use.
Our home is visible from the cabin.

We have a dog who is friendly, but has an annoying habit of barking when new people arrive. She will sit and go away when told.

You will need your own transport to access the property. The closest bus service is in Ballater or Crathie.

Tomidhu Steading in Crathie is a converted farm building situated in the Cairngorm National Park between Braemar and Ballater. Lochnagar is a self contained unit offering spacious self-catering accommodation all on one level. Many of the buildings original features have been retained and the rooms have a modern finish. The Croft is our family holiday home located in the beautiful village of Braemar, set in the Cairngorm National Park. The Village is a 10 minute walk away on a flat rd with local shops and attractions. Braemar is part of Royal Deeside and Balmoral castle is a 20 minute drive from the Croft. In addition to the world famous highland gathering, Braemar is a perfect base to explore the Scottish Highlands with hill walking and cycling on the doorstep as well as fishing, skiing & Golf next door.

The space
It is a bungalow with an open plan kitchen and dining area that is great for cooking and entertaining. A brand new Wren kitchen was designed and fitted in Dec 2021.
The large lounge is perfect for curling up in, to relax after long walks and reading in front of the wood burner or watching a movie (we have a sky box so pls bring your Sky card but pls remember to take it home), its large windows overlooks views down to the village and the garden which is beautifully wild and totally secure, to keep dogs in and the Deer out.
The bathroom has a bath, sink, toilet and an electric shower. A new bathroom suit was fitted in Feb 2021.
The Kitchen is well stocked with all your essentials and also a multi food blender, thermos flashes for picnics an a Nespresso coffee machine.
There is a family of red squirrels who live in the garden along side a number of different birds who nest in the trees around the house.
