Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Little Acorn, but advise other renters to beware. The owner said he had no control over the Hotels.com information."

- "Unfortunately when we arrived at 3.05pm (check-in was from 3pm) the cleaner was in the house. She said her colleague had gone to get clean linen and she was still cleaning. We asked if we could go into the kitchen to have a snack (we had been travelling all day and had brought some instant pasta which needed boiling water) but were not allowed access to the house at all. I then gave her my number and asked her to let me know when the house was ready. She sent me a message at 3.30pm. It would have been useful to have known before setting off that the house would not be ready for check-in time. We went to a nearby cafe for tea and scones as we were so hungry! The cleaners were obviously rushed, so although the house was mostly clean, the mirrors in the wardrobe in the master bedroom were really filthy and there was a pair of knickers and socks in the bedside drawer which wasn't a pleasant discovery. Apart from that everything else was great. The house was lovely, beautifully decorated and well equipped (not much matching crockery and glassware but plenty of everything). It was in a great location and very handy for the Coastal Path where we enjoyed taking a few walks. "

"The Coopers view" is situated in one of a number of small fishing villages in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. This cottage newly renovated to the highest standards and tastefully decorated throughout is an ideal base to explore this wonderful part of Scotland. This is a fantastic location for a holiday, with award winning sandy beaches, world class golf courses, full range of water sports, beautiful coastal walks and many other holiday activities close by. There are numerous pubs and eating places in the area ranging from the "famous chippie" to award winning seafood restaurants. The historic town of St Andrews is only 15 minutes away. This part of Scotland is also ideal for exploring further afield. It is only an hours drive to Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The area is rich in historical interest with several National trust properties in the vicinity including Falkland Palace Kellie castle and the Hill of Tarvit.

- "Beautiful, modern bungalow with a big garden to the rear - perfect for relaxing and great location for exploring the local area. Hazel is the perfect host and was very prompt messaging details for accessing the key. We especially loved the little welcome card, bottle of wine and box of fudge. There's a large co-op supermarket in Anstruther and also a small Premier shop in St Monan's nearby for essentials. Lots of places to see in the local area, Anstruther, St Andrews, Dundee etc. We ventured further afield and made a trip up to Glamis Castle, home of the late Queen Mother - just over an hour away but a good day out over the Tay Bridge. The golf museum at St Andrews was interesting as was the Kingsbarn Whisky & Gin distillery. Probably worth booking ahead for meals out in high season as it was busy everywhere. We couldn't get a table at the award winning Anstruther Fish bar so might have to come back! Don't forget to check out the beautiful quaint fishing villages of St Monan's & Pittenweem - tiny but well worth popping into. We would definitely recommend this property and will revisit if we are in this area again."

- "We three drove from the Cairngorm mountains to Anstruther by the sea and found the change of scenery a feast for the senses! Allan’s place is beautiful and sparkling clean as well. It’s close to shopping and gorgeous views of the sea wall. The cottage is right next to a busy 2 lane road but we have noise maker apps on our phones which help with sleeping. We had lovely weather to enjoy our boat trip to the Isle of May where there are thousands of birds including adorable puffins. Be sure to make reservations in advance so you don’t miss out and take a jacket. Also reserve a table at “The Bank” located just across the street…you won’t be disappointed!"

The Old Stables is a charming cottage, once home to the village plough horses on the lower level and the hayloft and groom’s accommodation on the upper level. Now transformed and finished to an extremely high standard, The Old Stables has two en-suite bedrooms and a sociable open plan layout to the living spaces making it ideal for a family or friends.
Located just off the high street and close to all the independent village shops and amenities The Old Stables is tucked away on a quiet lane. A short downhill stroll leads to the picturesque harbour and popular Fife Coastal Path.
Entering through the bright porch where there is plenty space for walking boots, golf clubs and fishing nets to be stored, the living space extends across the first level. Comfortable seating in the lounge area provides the perfect place to relax after a day exploring, or watch the world go by from the window seats. The extremely well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need for a self-catering stay and a dining table to gather around as you enjoy some of the fantastic local produce and recount the day’s adventures. With dual aspect windows and the glass balustrade which surrounds the stairs there is plenty of light reflected around the space.
The stairs lead down to the lower level where there are two bedrooms, named after the last hard-working plough horses to have been stabled there- Meteor and Betsy.
Meteor is a king size room with a quality Emma mattress and plenty of storage. The en-suite shower room has underfloor heating and also houses the utility area. Betsy is a twin room which can be arranged as a superking room on request. This room has a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite shower room. Both bedrooms have windows looking over the quiet lane.

The space
A bright and spacious double room with an en-suite shower. It is a roomy space at the top of my home. It was once a fisherman’s house and the loft was used for mending and hanging nets. It is in a quiet street opposite a park and tennis courts with sea views at the back and the side of the room.

You can reach the The Net Loft through the front door and following the stairs to the top. There are 2 flights of stairs to get you to the loft. 2 other people live in the building. The front door and hallway is the only shared space.
