- "Ideally situated close to the centre of Berwick Upon Tweed. Excellent value for money. Compact room with small double bed, comfortable enough but a bit creaky. TV, Kettle and fridge in room aswell as a hairdryer. A few minor issues that could be improved upon are; TV is ok if you are connecting somwthing to it but the signal for the digital channels is terrible. There is no mirror next to plug sockets for styling hair etc. There are only 3 parking spaces and when we were there the first night, two large vehicles were taking up all three spaces. There is however free overnight oarking immediately across the road until 8am."

Seafarer Cottage is not only our holiday home, it's yours too, and it's important to us that you love it as much as we do.
Combining charm and character with comfortable modern living, the cottage is perfect for couples and families alike. We know how important WiFi is, so there's good connectivity throughout the house. Upstairs the two double bedrooms are light and airy, with comfortable double beds and essential but often overlooked touches such as mirrors close to sockets and a hairdryer in each bedroom. There is a TV in the master bedroom. With ample storage and views over to Holy Island, the this bedroom is particularly lovely. There is a good-sized family bathroom, with bath and shower attachment, washbasin, WC and plenty of cupboards.
Downstairs, we particularly love the kitchen diner, and our guests have commented on how much they've enjoyed spending time there. Whether you want to warm up a pizza, make cakes with the kids or cook a roast dinner, we've got everything you need. There's a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, double oven, microwave and Lavazza coffee maker, so we hope you'll feel totally at home. There are ample pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, not forgetting plastic glasses for the little ones. The table seats 6, and there's a 32 inch TV too.
In the spacious hall, you'll find coat hooks and a shoe rack, placed close to the radiator so everything's nice and toasty. Off the hall there's a second bathroom, newly remodelled in February 2024 with a non-slip shower enclosure, basin unit with drawers and WC. The water supply to the shower is hot and powerful, so a good shower is always guaranteed. Next door is the single bedroom, with drawers, shelf and hanging space.
The living room is cosy and comfortable, with two good sized settees, throws for those cooler evenings, nest of tables, 55" Smart TV with HDMI and USB connectivity and a Blu-ray player.
Outside, there is ample parking on the gravel in front of the cottage, with a lot of the garden laid to lawn. There's a sunny paved patio area with a picnic table and a decked area with settee and coffee table for alfresco drinks and meals.
We know how hard it is to go on holiday without your furry friends, so well-behaved dogs are welcome, although please be aware that the garden is not enclosed.
The area is perfect for visiting the myriad historic, natural and cultural wonders of Northumberland, but particularly that most special of places, Holy Island. My late parents lived there, and the cottage is named after dad's boat, Seafarer. We hope that you will enjoy the magic of the Island as we have done over the years.
As we don't live locally, we're unfortunately not in a position to offer welcome packs. However, there will always be handwash, toilet roll, tea, coffee, sugar and dishwasher tablets there when you arrive. The Lindisfarne Inn is just next door, where the food is good, and there is a shop just a couple of minutes away, open until 10 pm. Tesco, Asda, the Co-op and Morrison's are just 10 minutes up the A1 in Berwick.
We hope to welcome you to Seafarer Cottage soon.
- "This is the second time we’ve stayed at Seafarer Cottage and it’s lovely. Great location, well equipped, comfy beds and excellent water pressure in the shower! There is some traffic noise from the A1 but it’s didn’t affect us sleeping. It’s lovely to have a sofa to sit on outside and internet to stream TV programmes with. Thank you, Julie, for a lovely stay!" - "We really enjoyed our stay at Seafarers Cottage and would highly recommend it. Very comfortable and cosy. Super location and the cottage contained everything we needed. We especially liked seeing the local hedgehog coming to visit every night!"

Georgian grade II listed terraced town house located within the Elizabethan ramparts in historic Berwick upon Tweed; England's most northerly coastal town, which has changed hands between England and Scotland 13 times. Visit Berwick and discover what was worth fighting for. The town boasts magnificent views over the Northumberland coast. Many walks start from the doorstep, along the preserved town walls, the coastal path to St Abbs, or beside the river, spotting seals by the town's three bridges. Berwick's narrow streets are filled with individual restaurants, pubs, shops and on the outskirts lie the main supermarkets. A five minute walk to The Maltings Art Centre, for cultural theatre, music and films. A short drive will take you to the town's leisure centre with wave pool and flume. Behind the house there are tennis courts and an 18 hole golf course. The main train line station has frequent trains to Newcastle (50mins), Durham or Edinburgh (45 mins). Nearby attractions include Holy Island Lindisfarne 10 miles, and Alnwick castle, garden and it's tree house restaurant 35 miles. The house itself sleeps 10, large enough for an extended family, or to meet up with friends; with all five bedrooms en-suite, it is able to offer comfortable sleeping accommodation for everyone. The house is located in a very quiet street,as mentioned in The Times newspaper in 2014.
“ Located within the Elizabethan town walls and therefore an easy walk into the centre, but also backing onto a golf course and, beyond that, only a couple of minutes’ walk to the coast. Barbara Pentecost, of Smiths Gore, admires this quiet, gently sloping street both for its fabulous location and its “glorious” Georgian houses.”
Best address: Britain's ten smartest streets, January 31st 2014
Due to the nature of the street EV charging is not possible at the property. There are plenty of public charging places in Berwick.

The property was in a great location in a fascinating town, with easy access to the coast and lots of places to visit. The Lowry trail around the town is well worth doing. The house is great for the dog - a path leads from the road, very close to no. 40, right up onto the ramparts and access to beach and harbour. We were 8 adults and the house was certainly large enough for us all, with very pretty, comfortable bedrooms and lounge. Very well equipped throughout and beautifully presented.
2nd Apr 2016 Ms Trish Calderbank
We are a mature group in all 8 of us stayed at varying times during the week and we had an excellent time. The cooking facilities are very good and we enjoyed every evening in the dining room having our meals. The washing machine and dryers were also very useful as we were completinh the Northumberland coastal path and got very wet a couple of days.

The location of the house was perfect quiet but within walking distance of everything.

Ravensdowne is an ideal holiday home for friends or family holidays get together. The fact all rooms were en suite was a huge bonus and the beds were very comfortable. The house was well furnished, warm and very well equipped. It is a lovely place to celebrate Christmas, with lots of room for everyone to eat together, we actually had 14 for dinner on Boxing Day! The location was ideal, very close to the town centre and the beach. We did a good deal of sightseeing around the local area.
- "There was nothing to fault with this house or it’s owner. Chris could not have been move helpful, and the house is wonderful. Spacious accommodation throughout, warm and cosy sitting room, lovely kitchen and a table to seat all Well positioned to walk Into town." - "We had a wonderful stay at Chris’ property in Berwick. The house was perfect for our family which included children, teenagers and dogs! The house was the perfect space for us with a large living room with enough furniture for us all to have a seat, a fantastically stocked kitchen - plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans and a big fridge and freezer - we loved the fact that each room had its own bathroom which was perfect for the number of staying in the house. The little courtyard garden was a perfect little space and an excellent sun trap. We were blessed with great weather and all left with sun tans! The dining room was also a perfect size with a large table which all 9 of us fitted around with plenty of room. The house was very clean and tidy when we arrived and was just fabulous! The house is in a fantastic location, just a short few minutes walk from all shops, restaurants, cafes, beach and scenic walks. We did a Tesco delivery order for the day we arrived which worked out brilliantly. Berwick itself is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous beaches, lovely walks and stunning views everywhere you look. I highly recommend this beautiful little town for families with children and dogs and this fabulous house. It was the perfect stay and we can’t wait to return! Thanks Chris, you were a wonderful host and we had the best holiday ever!"

On a hill top, looking out over the coast and surrounded by trees; The Good Shepherd's Hut has it all. Peace and quiet, spectacular views, privacy, and the occasional visit from an inquisitive chicken.
The hut is completely self contained, with ensuite shower room, wood burner, mini kitchen (hob microwave, toaster, sink, fridge) and a generous King Size bed (actually, slightly longer than king size, just in case you're tall)
You can spend time simply enjoying the peaceful views, or set off and visit Holy Island, The Cheviots, Wooler, Berwick or any of the countless beautiful beaches.
The ideal spot for 'getting away from it all'.

From the welcoming Prosecco to the cool fresh bottle of milk and free range eggs, everything was very well thought through and immaculate. The wood burner complete with perfectly cut and sized logs was such a treat and made the cabin cosy and warm. Pet Rules:
If you are bringing your furry friend, please ensure they are off the furniture. If they must go on sofas, ensure that a blanket/throw is put on the sofa to ensure muddy paws don't mark the sofa.
Top Tips:
The downstairs hallway, kitchen and dining room have the most beautiful stone tile. Whilst this was a great choice aesthetically, I would recommend bringing your slippers in the winter!
The sofas in the lounge are rather fancy and made from duck feathers. They do require a little plumping, but it’s so worth the effort and often guests don’t realise.
- "What a beautiful house with all amenities on your doorstep. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and each room having its own bathroom was great. Good correspondence with owner and exactly as described. Everything that you need is there and a welcome pack of crisps and chocolate and milk in the fridge, tea and coffee was a nice surprise. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation." - "Nina very easy to deal with, and no issues booking or gaining access. The property was a tad cold when we first arrived but it didn’t take long to get warmed up. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend with friends in a very comfortable house with all amenities. You could possibly require. Highly recommended."

As seen on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces!
This one-of-a-kind studio space, used more recently as an ice cream parlour, has been meticulously renovated by the owner with fully handcrafted and bespoke finishes.
The light-filled living space boasts the original glazed bricks and timber match boarding. The kitchenette, which includes a small fridge, hob, microwave and fold-down dining table, was hand-built by the owner from scratch, whilst the kitchen worktop is reclaimed from an art college, its fabulous patina a nod to its former life. The owner commissioned the Shaker peg rail to allow for storage of the dining chairs when not in use and hand-built the bed (a fixed double so no messing about folding beds) and the open storage beneath which pays homage to vintage luggage racks. A small Everhot electric stove allows for the heating of food and provides ambient warmth. Additional heating provided by an electric ribbon radiator ensures the space is toasty. Leading from the living space is a small wet room with a shower, basin and WC.
Outside, a small courtyard to the rear provides a private spot for a morning coffee or sundowner, the raised seating area offering fabulous views of the town’s historic Walls. The courtyard is secure and ideal for the storage of outdoor kit.
Located in a quiet corner of Berwick-upon-Tweed within the Elizabethan Town Walls, The Loovre provides easy access to the town and its cafes, restaurants, shops and train station (direct trains from London Kings Cross to Berwick-Upon-Tweed). The town has a thriving arts scene with galleries, The Maltings Theatre, independent bookshops and live music events. There are festivals throughout the year including the Berwick Film and Media Festival and the Food Festival. There are excellent independent shops and suppliers on the doorstep including The Green Shop for supplies, Mule on Rouge for coffee, microbrewery The Curfew and coffee roasters, Northern Edge. There are superb walks around the historic Town Walls, along the River Tweed estuary or along the many beaches which make up Northumberland’s spectacular Heritage Coast.

An eccentric hut that oozes beach bum charm and is just minutes from the sandy expanses of Northumberland’s Heritage Coast.
From vintage waterskis mounted on the bedroom wall to a driftwood mobile in the bathroom, and evocative deckchair striped fabric curtains framing the living room, Berrington Beach Hut is pure beach charm. Built from larch wood to resemble a trio of adjoining beach huts, with expansive private timber deck, the property delivers all the fun of hut living while adding space, comfort and mod-cons.
Berrington Beach Hut enjoys a tranquil, rural setting in a paddock encompassed by a 1,000-acre working farm. The steading is located just four miles from Cheswick Sands, one of Northumberland’s most impressive beaches with vast swathes of dune-backed sand and panoramic views to Holy Island of Lindisfarne, itself only 8.5 miles away. When you’re not out exploring the local beaches and sights, you can settle into the hammock, placed temptingly in the Beach Hut’s front garden, cosy up around the fire pit and linger over extended meals on the sun-drenched timber deck.
A pair of doors lead from the deck into a whimsical living area which radiates beach bum charm with its blue-washed timber panels and enamelware colander lamp shade. There’s a compact kitchen, rustic wooden dining table and pair of comfy chairs to relax in and contemplate the ‘real flame effect’ tubular heater stove. Leading off to one side is the master bedroom, a fun and light-filled room whose timber panelled walls are partially painted to match the deckchair striped headboard. Subtle strip lighting, concealed by a slim picture rail, throws light upwards to the pitched roof, giving an unexpected sense of height, while the window facing the bed calls out for lazy breakfasts in bed watching the countryside wake up.
A bathroom with electric shower, basin and WC leads off to the other side of the living area while a mezzanine floor, accessed by a Companionway ladder, features two 3’ twin beds snuggled beneath the blue and white painted pitched roof. Ideal for older children comfortable with climbing ladders, this floor is also accessible via an external set of steps.
Two dogs are welcome. Horses are welcome with prior notice. There is grazing and stabling available on site at additional cost.
Berrington Beach Hut sits alongside three shepherd's huts, Foxglove, Teasel and Cow Parsley each sleeping up to four guests which are ideal for guests who wish to holiday together. Foxglove is also adapted for guests who are mobility impaired.
GROUND FLOOR
Open plan living area with galley kitchen with an electric two ring hob, a microwave, under-counter fridge, toaster, kettle and DAB radio. There is a dining table and seating for four guests and a ‘real flame effect’ electric stove. Please note that there is no washing machine.
Bedroom (separated from the living area by a sliding door) with one double (4'6") bed.
Shower room with electric shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC.
FIRST FLOOR
A companionway ladder leads to a first floor mezzanine sleeping area for two children with two single beds which are 3’ x 6’3”and 3’ x 5’ (the latter has an optional extension when slid into the middle of the floor to make it full length).
An external set of steps leads from the mezzanine level for fire safety and to allow for external access.
Due to the access to the mezzanine level, it is not suitable for children under six years old. Please note the mezzanine level is not full height.
OUTSIDE
Large decked area with outside dining furniture and a fire pit.
The Beach Hut sits in a paddock with three shepherd’s huts: Foxglove, Teasel and Cow Parsley, each sleeping up to four guests. Please note, there is not designated enclosed space around each individual shepherd's hut.
No vehicle access is permitted in the paddock where the huts are located. Parking sits to the left of the farm entrance which is approximately 50 yards from the site entrance.
Dog Friendly
Two dogs are welcome (£15 fee per dog). Dogs must be clean and dry before access into the hut and must be kept off the beds. An outside tap is available. The inner paddock where the hut is located is enclosed, but dogs should be kept on a lead around the livestock. Please note, there are three other huts in the paddock, and there is not enclosed designated space around each individual shepherd's hut. Long dog leads are available onsite to keep your pets close-by your own shepherd's hut. The owner has chickens onsite which do occasionally fly over into the paddock. It is highly recommended that dogs are supervised for this reason.
Important Information
The paddock is shared with three shepherd’s huts: Foxglove, Teasel and Cow Parsley with a wide-open aspect across the adjoining field.
