- "This was our second stay at Coastguard Cottage, and it excelled on all fronts once again. This time, our family of four brought some elderly relatives with us, and they found the cottage met their every need, too. The layout is ideal for groups such as this, with bedrooms being grouped in different sections of the bungalow, and with there being ample bathroom availability. Access is easy, and the location simply cannot be beat - nestled right in the dunes of Bamburgh Beach, next to the iconic Bamburgh Castle. This property is beautifully appointed and maintained, with seemingly every requirement anticipated. We were very lucky with the weather, staying for the last week of October, which meant we could make the most of the week with daily adventures. In addition to relaxing on Bamburgh Beach itself, we visited Barter Books in Alnwick, Alnwick Gardens, The Treehouse Restaurant at Alnwick Gardens, and even Edinburgh Zoo. We highly recommend taking an afternoon to walk along the coastal path from Bamburgh to the breathtaking Budle Bay, and note that you should keep an eye out for fascinating and entirely complete WWII coastal defence structures, which are dotted long the route. Star-gazing on the dune that towers over the back garden is also not to be missed, with this mound being topped with bench boasting a plaque that declares it is in the Top 10 of lunch spots in the U.K, as voted by Kingsmill customers! - "Excellent location with short walks to the beautiful beach and village centre. Property very clean, well presented and equipped. We enjoyed using the large kitchen and eating area. The front and rear gardens were a little overgrown and some of the play equipment was broken. The shower/bath facilities were excellent but on the last 2 days there was no hot water (the problem was fixed on the first day but recurred on the second). The door to the double bedroom at the front of the house is misaligned to the frame and does not shut. The house instruction booklet could be updated as it contains out of date contact information and the description of the heating controls does not match the actual installation. Instructions for the ice maker would be helpful. Overall a very comfortable stay in a lovely area."

- "Lovely quaint property. Lovely decor. Private enclosed garden,safe for the dogs. Excellent access to the beach and dunes. Lovely views of the beach from the upstairs main bedroom and the castle from the garden. Generally very quiet & good village location. Could benefit from a second full shower rather than the second shower over the bath for 8 people & an outside tap would be useful especially for the dogs. Garden furniture was dated with some damage to chairs. Grass needed cutting."

The space
Betony is a wonderful lodge situated on the outskirts of Bamburgh, Northumberland. The property hosts three bedrooms: two king-size, one with an en-suite shower room and one family room with two bunk beds, sleeping a total of eight people. There is an open-plan living room with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with real flame effect log burner. Outside has a decking area with furniture and off-road parking. Betony is an excellent choice for a rural-based holiday.

Oswald’s Rest is in an absolutely charming location and is perfect for couples. Here you can relax in the secluded garden or take a 15-minute walk along the paths to the magnificent coast.
Set midway between Bamburgh and Seahouses and set in wonderful countryside, yet on the cusp of the golden beaches and coastline
The cottage is on the farm,where there are eight private camping pitches, Oswald’s Rest is set to the side in its own setting with a secluded private garden. We allow 1 dog per couple

The space
Oswald’s rest is situated on our working farm. We have a suckler herd of Aberdeen Angus cows and a flock of pedigree Poll Dorset sheep, which we lamb in September.
We also have a small 8 pitch caravan site that we run from the farm as-well.
We are in a lovely quiet spot, magnificent views of Bamburgh Castle and a short walk from the beach.
You can also walk into the 2 nearby villages, Bamburgh and Seahouses.
Bamburgh has 3 pubs and one lovely fish restaurant.
Seahouses is your classic seaside village, lots of fish and chip shops, it has a Co-op, Indian and Chinese takeaways.
If your after a peaceful getaway in the beautiful northumbrian countryside, Oswald’s rest is the perfect place for couples to stay, and your dog too if you have one.

This charming 3-bedroom cottage (featuring 2 king rooms and 1 twin) is just a five-minute stroll from the glorious beach at Budle Bay. Located just over a mile from Bamburgh, it's perfectly positioned for a scenic walk either along the beach or across the dunes and golf course. The cottage enjoys stunning views over Budle Bay towards Holy Island and offers a cosy, comfortable stay at around a 3-star standard.

The space
The front door opens into a welcoming kitchen with a dining table that comfortably seats five (six if needed). From the kitchen, you step into a cozy sitting room with ample comfortable seating for everyone. Off the sitting room are three bedrooms and a family bathroom, complete with a bath and overhead shower. There’s also a separate back porch, just off the sitting room, which leads to an additional toilet and basin—perfect for those busy mornings.

The lodge has a garden which is for your own use - please note it is not all fenced.

Other things to note
The lodge is heated by electric radiator. There is an under-counter fridge and a separate under-counter freezer. Also please note the lodge is on the B1342 so from the garden you will hear cars go by - it's pretty quiet in the house.
