The house was built in the early 1800’s and was opened as a stately maternity hospital in 1834 and remained so up to the year 1983, making it 175 years old. Many local Irish and those who emigrated from this area would have been born in Highfield House. A host of original, antique interior features still remain including high ceiling rooms, wooden floors and wooden ceiling beams. Access to the M1, M3, M4 and M50 motorways are all within 25 - 45 minutes drive making it easy to travel all around Ireland using Trim as your base or a convenient stop-over for those traveling to the west to Connemara or to the north to Belfast, the Titanic exhibitions and the Giant's Causeway.

Set in the heart of the heritage laden town of Trim and boasting a bird's eye view of the historic Yellow Steeple, "the Clinic" is ideally located and central to all of Trim's many amenities. The 12th century Trim Castle, on the banks of the Boyne, is a 3 minute walk away, and the Yellow Steeple even closer. The award winning "James Griffin" pub is literally across the road and the property is also adjacent to banks, convenience stores, restaurants/takeaways and many other retail services.

The clinic is not wheelchair friendly. The bedrooms are in the original building so door width not wide enough for wheelchairs.

Fairy Meadows Cottage is looking out onto meadow land surrounded by black and white thorn trees. The River Boyne is only metres away and during spells of heavy rain the river overflows into the meadows. 2 Beautiful bedrooms await. On the ground floor there is 1 bedroom with an extra large bed and ensuite bathroom. A stylish kitchen and living area completes the down stairs lay out.
