It was wonderfully Christmassy and added a beautiful elegance to our weekend stay. The real wood fireplace was enchanting. The hotel restaurant had a delicious breakfast and a very neat bread-bar. I have never seen that before and it was really unique. The grill could have been cleaned for sure, but we were there at a busy time of year so it is understandable. The staff were all so kind and personable. I really appreciated the fact that the front desk assistants allowed us to remain parked in the underground parking for a few hours after our checkout so that we could walk the main street again. They were so kind and we appreciated the extra time in the town without the hassle of finding other parking. We will be back next year to visit this amazing hotel! I would recommend it to anyone staying in Banff, especially over the holidays as it was so wonderfully Christmassy. "

They have shuttles to the different mountains if you didn’t have a car to drive and we were within walking distance of everything downtown. Has underground heated parking but that's not included - can take your chances and pay a smaller amount for daily parking and hope there's a spot available, or pay a bit more to reserve a spot. I'd recommend reserving a spot so you don't have to worry about parking. The parking is heated, and clean - it did feel a bit tight everywhere, but there were plenty of trucks and full-sized SUVs parked. Really great place, would stay here again."

After the web check-in I did a normal check-in, didn't opt for the digital key (too time consuming, you have to sign up for a rewards program and give them all your info). Hikes: A great local Banff family hike is Tunnel Mountain. Lake Louise: Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse (full day) or Lake Agnes Tea House (1/2 day). Johnston Canyon also with frozen waterfalls in the winter, Moraine Lake: Larch Valley & Sentinel Pass, Takakkaw Falls and the Iceline trail.

Skiing & Winter fun! Downhill skiing: Mt Norquay (15 mins), Sunshine (20 mins) and Lake Louise (40 mins), these are all amazing ski hills, Mt Norquay is more local so ideal if you want a half day. For Cross Country Skiing check out the Canmore Nordic Centre. Tubing is amazing fun and available at both Lake Louise and Mt Norquay. Ice skating at Lake Louise is also a must do and makes the perfect photo opportunity!
