Yes, your bedroom and bathroom will be clean, but the rest of the space may not be immaculate.

Example: we keep condiments in the fridge, and the freezer may be full. Some cupboards will have canned goods. The entryway closet will have room for your stuff, but it will also contain some of our jackets and shoes.

This can be a very real problem for guests who expect hotel-like accommodations. If this is you, please do not book here.

The space
Before we get to the good stuff, here are some cold, hard facts:

The Trans-Canada Highway runs just behind our building, and there is a hotel across from us. This means that you will definitely hear highway noise, and you may hear people on their own balconies across the way. As our building is filled with short-term rentals, we cannot predict how loud our upstairs neighbours will be. Sometimes they are fantastic, polite, and quiet. Sometimes they are not.

This space may not be for you if you are a light sleeper.

Now for some good news ...

Your bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, a tv, and air conditioning. The living space is also air conditioned.

The unit features a full kitchen, laundry, and full bathroom.

There is a small gym on the main floor. It has some free weights, a stationary bike, a treadmill, and a place for stretching - but it's not much.

There are books to read, records to play, and the kitchen is complete with pots, pans, and utensils. *Note: we do NOT have a BBQ. (There's an old one in one of the photos, but it's gone.)

We are conveniently located.

It is approximately a 1.5 - 2.0 kilometre walk to downtown shops and restaurants. (When my partner and I walk to downtown, it takes us about 30 minutes. ) There is a bus stop nearby, and public transportation in Canmore is free.

Other things to note
NO assigned parking spot, but parking is free on the street. If the street fills up, try around back of the building. Parking can be difficult, especially if you arrive late. Best to park early, if you can.

Please be aware that the condo does back the highway. We provide ear plugs just in case you are a light sleeper.

Canmore is a town located in the Canadian province of Alberta, in the southwestern part of the province, just outside Banff National Park. It is situated in the Bow Valley, approximately 80km west of Calgary and 22km east of Banff. Great place for hiking and biking with multiple trails starting in town.

The Bear Necessities is a rustic, tastefully decorated accommodation situated minutes from Banff National Park and Kananaskis Country in the Canadian Rockies.

A private entrance leads you down to your cozy suite located in a quiet residential neighbourhood on the "sunny side" of town. Out your door you have direct access to Canmore's extensive trail system making it ideal for walkers, hikers and bikers.
