We had a great time in Northstar, however we were having issues during the stay. The water heater didn't heat the water warm enough for a 5 min shower. Hope the issue will be fixed after we left. Pleasantly surprised with accommodations for price." - "Great property overall. However, we were very disappointed with the lack of prep of the condo on arrival. We assumed from the advertisement that it was a wood stove with option for having a fire. We did not know this was a gas fireplace and the only heat source. That would later prove just fine but on arrival the room was ice cold at 40 degrees. Beds were ice cold as well. After turning on the thermostat and setting to 75, we noticed it was taking about 10 mins to move up one degree. At that rate it would be hours before the room was comfortable. We called Northstar housing to complain. They sent over a maintenance man who brought an electric heater. He was nice enough but there was nothing more he could do. He admitted room was not inspected. Temp should have been at 55. Would now take hours as outside temps were below 30 and there was snow up against the sliding door to the deck. We pulled down all the bedding, pillows and blankets and draped them over the chairs and benches and placed them near the fireplace. We then left for dinner. Fortunately on returning 3 hrs later there was progress with the room temp at 65. Our complaints were not quite over though. Next morning we noticed a coffee machine with coffee in it (not cleaned), no dishwasher detergent tablets, and a sample sized Palmolive liquid only half full, which wasn’t going to last a week. We understand the record snow and short staffing. Still a big disappointment for a place costing this much. "

Guests are welcomed into the charming remodeled Mountain View chalet living/dining area with river rock hearth and enamel wood burning stove. a TV with fire stick is available in living room to enjoy my Netflix or sign in with your accounts.
This listing is for the private upstairs bedroom with balcony facing the street. It has a Queen bed and twin daybed so works for a single, couple or two friends. Currently both upstairs bedrooms (the other available room has a Queen bed with outstanding views, listed as "Ski lease - Fab Mtn View Bedroom in chalet) are available. The privacy of the upper level might be perfect for a family or friends, individuals or two couples. Bedding is provided (new duvets, down comforters, blankets, sheets). There is a shared with upper level guests only adjacent upstairs bathroom with shower and pedestal sink. 1 bath towel/hand towel/wash cloth per guest is provided.
Guests will share the chalet common areas (living, dining, kitchen & laundry areas) with a max of 4 other guests who may rent the other 2 bedrooms. Each of the 3 bedrooms is private so guests can safely leave their belongings through the ski season rental. Laundry is located off hallway from kitchen on main level.
Updated kitchen features granite countertops & stainless steel Kitchen Aid appliances, including gas stove & convection/ bake oven & microwave.
Shared kitchen has all the necessities: pots/pans, Vita-Mix, cooking & baking tools, pots/pans, wine glasses, basic glass plates/bowls/glasses, mugs, silverware, knife set, etc.

Northstar Beauty is housed within the popular Northstar Ski Resort in scenic Truckee, just north of the shores of popular Lake Tahoe. Undoubtedly if you’re visiting in the colder months, your visit will be centered around enjoying the fresh powder on the challenging slopes, but in your leisure time, the Village of Northstar offers something for everyone. Pick up some new gear from one of the charming boutiques or take a break for some hot cocoa and a light lunch at one of several delicious restaurants. In the warmer months, set out on a hike or bike on one of the numerous picturesque trails, play a round or two of golf at a championship course, or head down to the lake for endless water-themed activities. My home is close to the downtown Truckee area & some great local dining - Drunken Monkey (sushi), Thai Delicacy and 50/50 Brewery are just at the end of my street. There is also a local bus stop (TART) there as well. Our Regional Park, Golf Course, Truckee River, & Legacy Trail are all within walking distance. Northstar is the closest ski resort, but Squaw/Alpine and Sugar Bowl are also easily accessible. I have lots of local knowledge & am happy to help with your visit to Truckee!

The space
You'll enjoy the entire upstairs of our home to yourself. I live on the first floor and will be present throughout your stay.
You'll have a private bedroom with dresser, closet, and Queen bed. Bathroom with shower, large loft area for games, television, or computer time. Please note - a loft means it opens from above to the rest of the home.
It's on the second floor, overlooking the main living room, which I don't use when guests are in residence to allow you as much privacy as possible.
The TV is currently in the loft, but you are welcome to move it into the bedroom if you'd like.
There are books and games available. Free wifi. Also some workout gear. Plus, mini-fridge and coffee/tea set-ups, and microwave in the loft.
Our house is close to Northstar and downtown Truckee. I can share tips for shopping, dining, and outdoor fun. We also have miles of trails easily accessible from the neighborhood for XC skiing and snowshoeing.

Guest access
You'll have the entire second floor. Access is through the front door on the first floor. Kitchen is available to you if you want to cook.

There is great fishing in Truckee River, Prosser, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs.The convenient location is less than 5 minutes to I-80, downtown Truckee and within 10-20 minutes of Northstar, Sugarbowl, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake.

Please note the Town of Truckee charges hosts a 13.25% tax (based on the amount I make per booking) that I will need to collect from guests in addition to the cost of their stay. This can be done electronically outside of the AirBnB platform. You can find the information about this Transient Occupancy tax on short-term rentals by Googling. AirBnB will not allow me to insert the link.

The space
The property is centrally located in the Tahoe Donner development on a flat 1/3 acre lot with lots of trees.
The golf course winds through the neighborhood.
It’s 1/2 mile to the main recreation center with a gym, hot tub and two pools with a spacious sun deck (lap pool is open year-round), sledding hill, the Lodge restaurant and a convenience store. The golf course is two blocks away. Tennis courts and kids play area are a mile away ( you will pass it on your way to the house) A mile past the house are the mountain bike and equestrian center. Nearby is the ski hill with two lifts and a variety of beginner and intermediate terrain (where TD kids learn to ski and ride). Paved and unpaved hiking trails are everywhere.
The studio has double doors opening onto a balcony looking west, with windows stretching up to the cathedral ceiling. There are other windows on all sides.
The interior has been completely remodeled to add a kitchen and laundry and all new floors. There is ample cabinet and two closets for your clothes, a seating area centered around the gas stove and the entertainment center with two sofas (including a queen sleeper sofa), a dining table with four chairs and lots of floor space to stretch out.
The oversized garage has a long work bench, and two large parking spaces. The driveway is huge and flat as well.

The studio is accessible from inside the garage and from a side door, and is completely detached from the house.
Truckee is a snow-lover’s dream with storms that can drop 8 feet in a few days. Our private plowing service will come once each day it snows, but if you cannot see the buildings, our house is the twelfth driveway on the right. The balcony doors over the garage are always above the snow banks and are painted a bright green so you can find us even if the address is obscured by snow.

The studio has a city- mandated 31 day minimum, but the detached house is available by the night.

The Tahoe Donner HOA has many amenities available for a daily fee including its own ski hill, sledding hill, miles of nature trails, mountain biking and XC trails, two pools, tennis courts, a gym, golf course and a private beach and boat launch on Donner Lake. Stay comfortably in Ski Trails condo right across from the Village at Northstar. You have access to the NPOA Rec Center (with a fee) with a full fitness room, 3 pools (the lap pool stays open year round), 3 hot tubs, tennis & pickleball courts, and more. In the condo, the cozy bedroom and spacious couch with open concept dining and kitchen areas provides a comfortable retreat after a day exploring Tahoe and Northstar. Ski back to the condo for lunch, then ski back down to the gondola after.

You will have a single guest bedroom with a queen bed and desk in my two bedroom, one bath, second-floor condo. It is walking distance to downtown restaurants, shops, bars, the Amtrak station, and buses to resorts and main attractions.

You can't beat the million-dollar views from this second-story condo overlooking downtown, Northstar, and Mt. Rose! There is a large covered deck to enjoy as well.

This fabulous, slopeside, junior studio features a king size bed, a kitchenette with a two-burner stove, mini-fridge, microwave, and toaster oven, plus a full bathroom with a double vanity. This residence does not include a fireplace, dishwasher or outdoor terrace. A junior studio is a lock-off and can be joined to the adjacent residence to create a two-bedroom unit.

Guests will enjoy Village and mountain views from the terrace, as well as the convenience of staying in The Village at Northstar, steps from Northstar California skiing, dining, shopping, skating, movies and more. A year-round swimming pool, hot tubs, and fitness centers are also available. Catamount and Big Horn Lodges are closest to the gondola.
