The privacy of the upper level might be perfect for a family or friends, individuals or two couples. Bedding is provided (new duvets, down comforters, blankets, sheets). There is a shared with upper level guests only adjacent upstairs bathroom with shower and pedestal sink. 1 bath towel/hand towel/wash cloth per guest is provided.
Guests will share the chalet common areas (living, dining, kitchen & laundry areas) with a max of 4 other guests who may rent the other 2 bedrooms. Each of the 3 bedrooms is private so guests can safely leave their belongings through the ski season rental. Laundry is located off hallway from kitchen on main level.

My home is close to the downtown Truckee area & some great local dining - Drunken Monkey (sushi), Thai Delicacy and 50/50 Brewery are just at the end of my street. There is also a local bus stop (TART) there as well. Our Regional Park, Golf Course, Truckee River, & Legacy Trail are all within walking distance. Northstar is the closest ski resort, but Squaw/Alpine and Sugar Bowl are also easily accessible. I have lots of local knowledge & am happy to help with your visit to Truckee!

The space
You'll enjoy the entire upstairs of our home to yourself. I live on the first floor and will be present throughout your stay.
You'll have a private bedroom with dresser, closet, and Queen bed. Bathroom with shower, large loft area for games, television, or computer time. Please note - a loft means it opens from above to the rest of the home.
It's on the second floor, overlooking the main living room, which I don't use when guests are in residence to allow you as much privacy as possible.
The TV is currently in the loft, but you are welcome to move it into the bedroom if you'd like.
There are books and games available. Free wifi. Also some workout gear. Plus, mini-fridge and coffee/tea set-ups, and microwave in the loft.
Our house is close to Northstar and downtown Truckee. I can share tips for shopping, dining, and outdoor fun. We also have miles of trails easily accessible from the neighborhood for XC skiing and snowshoeing.

You'll have the entire second floor. Access is through the front door on the first floor. Kitchen is available to you if you want to cook.

Please note the Town of Truckee charges hosts a 13.25% tax (based on the amount I make per booking) that I will need to collect from guests in addition to the cost of their stay. The space
The property is centrally located in the Tahoe Donner development on a flat 1/3 acre lot with lots of trees.
The golf course winds through the neighborhood.
It’s 1/2 mile to the main recreation center with a gym, hot tub and two pools with a spacious sun deck (lap pool is open year-round), sledding hill, the Lodge restaurant and a convenience store. The golf course is two blocks away. Tennis courts and kids play area are a mile away ( you will pass it on your way to the house) A mile past the house are the mountain bike and equestrian center. Nearby is the ski hill with two lifts and a variety of beginner and intermediate terrain (where TD kids learn to ski and ride). Paved and unpaved hiking trails are everywhere.
The studio has double doors opening onto a balcony looking west, with windows stretching up to the cathedral ceiling. There are other windows on all sides.
The interior has been completely remodeled to add a kitchen and laundry and all new floors. There is ample cabinet and two closets for your clothes, a seating area centered around the gas stove and the entertainment center with two sofas (including a queen sleeper sofa), a dining table with four chairs and lots of floor space to stretch out.
The oversized garage has a long work bench, and two large parking spaces. The driveway is huge and flat as well.

Guest access
The studio is accessible from inside the garage and from a side door, and is completely detached from the house.
Truckee is a snow-lover’s dream with storms that can drop 8 feet in a few days. Our private plowing service will come once each day it snows, but if you cannot see the buildings, our house is the twelfth driveway on the right. The balcony doors over the garage are always above the snow banks and are painted a bright green so you can find us even if the address is obscured by snow.

This sunny room in our home welcomes you with french doors. As you enter 235 sq. ft. of a spacious room you will find a Queen bed, futon, and 2 closets. There is a sliding glass door and window to let lots of light but also has black out curtains. Feel free to use our fridge, upstairs living room, new instant hot water and sunny deck with a hot tub always kept at a ready temperature.

The space
You can access your room from the side of the house through the sliding door once you have checked in. There is a nice patio with great sun just off the room.

Guest access
You will have shared access to the living room with TV upstairs, our kitchen, 1.5 baths, deck with great views that includes a 5 person hot tub, bbq and horseshoe pit outside.

During your stay
This is our home that we are happy to share with others. We can help you find your way around town or help make your stay more comfortable if there are needs. Our living space is mostly upstairs and while the guest bedroom is downstairs, our 11 year old son has a room downstairs as well. We do have two children at home.

Other things to note
We do have an 11 and 8 year old, so this is not a place to come party or be loud, but it is a great place to have a very accommodating and comfortable stay with great amenities.
There bed times are 8:30 and they get up at 7. I always do my best to keep them quiet before our guest wake up, but after 7am there is movement in the house. Guest room and bathroom is downstairs.

ON THE TRUCKEE RIVER right in the historic downtown area, our little place is a 2 block walk to restaurants and shopping. You’ll love our place because you can sit inside or in bed and watch the river flow by. It's a peaceful place, new and modern, private and the middle of it all. It's not just a place to stay, it's a destination. QUIET people only please.
We have a firm sofa sleeper. we have a couple of other mattresses we can bring in if you prefer a softer bed.

A rare find on the Truckee River, our guest suite is just steps from downtown. Built in 2017, it's clean, modern, energy-efficient, and full of light—a cozy, peaceful retreat in a vibrant mountain town.

Tranquility First
We welcome mellow, respectful guests. This is a sanctuary, not a party spot. Please keep noise to a minimum, especially after 9:30 PM. While the suite is insulated, loud voices—especially outside—can carry.

Sleep Setup
The main room features a queen-size American Leather sofa sleeper (not leather!) with a firm, foam mattress—spring-free and supportive. Most guests sleep well, but firmness is subjective. We also have softer mattresses upon request. We’re happy to make the bed up before arrival. Just note that with the bed out, lounge space is limited. Bedding is in the trunk coffee table; pillows are in the hall closet.

While there’s no stove or oven, you’ll find everything for simple meals:

A Few Things to Know

Bee Hives: We keep a couple in the backyard (east side). They’re far from the guest area and rarely visible, but if this concerns you, this might not be the right fit.

Privacy: The suite is a separate bedroom in our home that's locked off with its own private entrance and river-facing sliding door. The interior connecting door is locked during your stay to ensure your privacy.

Train Noise: We're nestled between the river and train tracks. Trains pass at irregular hours—some guests find it soothing, others more noticeable. If you're noise-sensitive, please consider this before booking.

Cleanliness Matters
We take pride in keeping the space spotless. Our cleaning fee reflects the care and time we invest in preparing for each guest.

Guest access
You will have access to the river right out the back door. Great for fishing or just hanging out in a couple of chairs we have down there. Private entrance and a small somewhat private back patio. The apartment is actually our 3rd bedroom and connected to our home. We have put in extra sound insulation so it's pretty quiet against normal indoor sounds. We hope to attract only mellow guests that keep the volume down so it's just more peaceful for everyone. It's a family neighborhood so we really encourage peaceful guests that are quiet, especially after 9pm. Please don't book if you want to be loud or party.

The back patio has a little table out there and a few chairs. It's somewhat private but not totally because the house is in a neighborhood. There is a natural sloped dirt path to the river with chairs at the rivers edge.

The parking is next to the road and pretty level. That being said, in the winter time, it can be snowy. The road is usually plowed pretty well but this is still the mountains. In the winter, you are best off with a 4-Wheel Drive or All-Wheel Drive vehicle. Some people use chains. Sometimes even when you don't need 4-Wheel Drive in town, you may still need it to get to the Ski Areas.

The parking is directly in front of the pathway to the place which is on the right side of the home. Please park on the gravel just to the left of the neighbors paved spot. Make sure to leave the paved space to the right for our neighbor.

Other things to note
Small private studio: Please note it's a small studio, it's actually our 3rd bedroom that has it's own entrance. When we host guests, we lock off the interior door so the guests can be ensured privacy for their entire stay.

Sheets and bedding: The sheets and duvet covers are 100% cotton. In addition to the sheets, we wash the duvet covers after every guest.

Noise: You will hear the river and train sounds more so in the summer because you will want to have the windows open. Most people like the sound but some people say it interrupts their sleep. Please don't leave us a bad review if the train sounds bother you.

Storage: There are 2 small closets inside. Iff you have a fancy bike, we can keep in inside the garage for you if you like.

Mellow please: We would like our guests to be pretty quiet on the property, and in the evening to quiet down by 9pm. The apartment is attached to our home and the neighboring home is not far away so if you could please be mellow and keep the volume down that would be greatly appreciated.

Restaurants and shops nearby: The good news about that is that if you want to go and party it up, the restaurants and bars are just a couple of blocks away and then you could come back to your little sanctuary on the river.

In Truckee there's a 13.25% tax that we pay. We have calculated these into the amount we charge you so you won't have to pay that on top of the Airbnb Invoice. Our registration number is #STR21-01323 with the Town of Truckee.

Truckee is also known for its charming historic downtown area that features several boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.
