In American bed sizes there are two double beds and one twin. Kitchen implements and equipment are rather light and could used a bit of augmenting. Loved the bird feeders and also there is good walking right outside the house. One negative on the location- the closest restaurant or supermarket is a thirty minutes drive away. There was one very good pizza/poutine place nearby. The gas station/convenience store has some take away food and a pretty good selection of wine and beer."

The wood-fired spa is open year-round for an exceptional experience! The private Nordic bath is a two-step process: heating the bath water over a wood fire to the sound of the river in the middle of nature. If you can't build a fire, you may not be able to take full advantage of our facilities! Since this step takes several hours in winter, it's possible that you won't be able to enjoy a hot Nordic bath until the second day of your stay, but it's worth the wait - it's magical! The smell of burning wood, the cedar of the Nordic bath, the river, nature... it's perfect! However, we can't guarantee an optimal temperature during the coldest weather, so you may not be able to enjoy it if the temperature isn't mild. Above -20C, there's a good chance you won't be able to take advantage of it. Please allow around 5 to 6 hours of heating on the first day. After that, the temperature will be reached more quickly for the rest of your stay! During the summer, if an outdoor fire ban were in place in the Saguenay due to the risk of forest fires, the Nordic bath could not be used, but in this heat, a swim in the river will be even more appreciated!

The space
The chalet is located 1.5 km from the municipal road and is accessible by car, in summer and autumn. In winter, guests park safely near the guest house. Transportation of people and luggage is by snowmobile. Tranquility assured. Two solar panels provide lighting and energy for the computer and phone. In winter, energy requires special management. An efficient and safe wood-burning stove provides soothing heat but requires a little exercise to fuel it with wood. We suggest a respectful attitude towards the environment, especially with regard to the management of drinking water. We offer the means to harvest compostable materials, manage solar energy and enjoy the unique moments that an integral nature bath provides.

Guest access
In summer and fall, the cottage is accessible by car. No pets allowed. In winter, luggage and people are transported by snowmobile. 8 km of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails are accessible to outdoor enthusiasts and equipment is provided.

Other things to note
The library contains books, maps, comics, atlases and board games. The naive painter Arthur Villeneuve is featured on the walls. There is a yoga mat and a few dozen cassettes can be played in the cassette player of my late 1992 Honda. The TV allows you to select the four basic stations: Télé-Québec, Radio-Canada, TVA and Noovo. The windows overlook Lac-à-Nil, behind which the sun sets.

Whether you're enjoying outdoor activities or just relaxing by the fire, this place is perfect. Located on the shores of a small lake in nature, this cottage offers tranquility just 7 minutes from downtown La Baie.

The space
The cottage has two bedrooms, one of which is closed on the ground floor and one open to the mezzanine. With its large windows, the accommodation is very bright so we advise you to bring a blindfold if you choose the bedroom on the mezzanine. The chalet offers a bathroom as well as a full kitchen where you will have everything you need to cook. The living room is equipped with a sofa bed and a small smart TV. A DVD player as well as several movies will be at your disposal. Please note that there is no cable or subscription to television services, but you will have access to apps such as Prime, Netflix, etc. Although the cottage can accommodate up to six people, it is more comfortable for four. We are happy to welcome your furry furry friends, however the couch and beds are only for humans. Since this is a rather secluded place, please know that the cellular network is weak in the area. On the other hand, we have installed a cellular signal booster that will allow you to make calls, text messages. The water in the cottage comes from an artesian well and it is drinkable. However, you may note that it has a sulfur smell and may have a beige color (especially hot water). That's why there is a jug of water in the refrigerator, it contains tap water, but putting it in the cold completely removes these features. So you can consume tap and jug water without any problem. In summer, you can go on the lake with a pedal boat available to you or with your own boat (motors prohibited). You can also swim there, however please note that you cannot fish.

CHECK-IN
We strongly recommend not arriving in the dark on the first night, as there is little light in the village and around the chalet. To park in the courtyard, you have to do it by reversing the car.

PHONE
There is no phone on the property, you must have your cell phone. The internet is wifi throughout the chalet. The download speed is very fast but may vary depending on the time of day.

GROCERY/TROUBLESHOOTER/STORE
There is no more general store in the village. So you have to make a full grocery store before your arrival. There is a small shop, the Apicurieux, which has various regional products and they can help you out. Otherwise, the nearest convenience store is in St-Fulgence, 35 km away.

PETROL
There's no gas station in the village. You have to refuel before arriving, either in Chicoutimi (45km), Saint-Fulgence (35km) or Tadoussac (100km). To help you out, a small gas station is 15 km from the village.

TRASH & RECYCLING
You have to dispose of the garbage and recycling yourself and take them to the designated places, either at the Pavillon de la montagne, in the center of the village. We cannot leave any garbage bags outside the cottage because of the forest animals nearby.

La Rose du Fjord consists of more than 100 acres of land, mostly boreal forest, with all the biodiversity that this represents.

The playground is great for outdoor activities, all seasons. In summer and autumn, you can enjoy forest hiking on the estate with its majestic views of the Saguenay Fjord. At the mountain lake, you can practice swimming, pedal boat or canoe.

You can tease the Spotted trout (native trout) on our seeded fishing pond. One trout per traveler included per stay, an additional fee of 10.00/extra trout applies, all income is returned to the youth home in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord.

In winter, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling or dog sledding are all offered directly or through partners as needed.

In spring, much of the winter activities are practiced, but the season for maple syrup is fast approaching with the heat of the sun that invigorates us.

You can observe a unique fauna and flora with the presence of moose, bear, wolf, coyote, deer, tetra, grouse (Perdrix), hares and many other species not counting the abundant flora.

Come and experience the healing process in the heart of the boreal forest.

Each location has a level of privacy due to its forest location.

We offer the rental of 2 pairs of snowmountain snowshoes from Faber 8-26 up to 90.7 Kg (200 lbs). 5$/pair/day.

We offer snowmobile or mountain bike (quad) hiking packages with a certified and accredited guide depending on the season. (Including snowmobile and all required)

We also have the opportunity to offer, through our partners, dog sledding tours.

Either snowmobile or Quad, you have the opportunity to start your trek directly from your cottage door by taking a private trail that leads to the federated trails.

The space
The POD is warm and comfortable, designed to enjoy all seasons. Spacious and well divided it can accommodate 4 peoples ideally . Beautiful interior finish 100% wood including, living room, kitchenette, a full bathroom with shower, a private bedroom, a bed on the mezzanine and a private spa year round.

Each location enjoys free private parking and privacy by its location in the woods.

Also each has its own exterior fireplace, BBQ, Spa, terrace and even a gazebo at the POD.
