This is a cozy rustic guest cottage with a view of the marsh and fall colors (and sunsets). Our main house is on the property, but privacy is assured.

It has a loft bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an adjacent full bath (shower, no tub). To reach the loft is a steep staircase (not a ladder).

Downstairs, the living-dining area has a dining table and a sitting area with a comfy daybed for reading and napping. The generous screened porch has lovely views of the tidal salt marsh, forest, and sunsets. Nature’s chorus forms the soundtrack—we have an array of non-human neighbors.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, range, coffee maker, and microwave. It also has glassware, dishes, silverware, basic pots, pans, and cooking implements. No dishwasher.
There is Broadband Wifi, AC window units upstairs & down (seasonal availability, summer only), and electric heat.

We are not far off the main road (Route 127), and you can hear occasional traffic if the windows are open, but it’s rare to hear cars or trucks at night. You are more likely to be awakened by owls or coyotes or perhaps the early morning calls of geese, crows, and other birds.

Perched high above the New Meadows salt water river, Juniper Ledge House provides the ideal place to get away! You can choose to watch the water, osprey, seagulls and sunsets from from the large deck, use the house for a quiet escape - or as a home base for outings and exploring nearby attractions. The house is close to everything - activities and services - movies, bowling, rope climbing, shopping, great restaurants, golf, beaches, networks of hiking trails, kayak and boat rentals, easy launch locations, and beautiful ocean scenery. All are just minutes away! There is a 1.5 mile hiking trail on the Juniper Woods property and access to parking, stairs down to a common dock, and waterfront (subject to tides) if you just want to stay right at home.

The Juniper Ledge House is ideal for one or two couples, or a couple with older children. Because there is a steep "cliff" in front of the house, we do not recommend this property for very little ones. Sorry, but pets are not allowed on this property and it is also a non-smoking property.

You certainly will not be roughing it if you choose this property, but if you think you need a really nice, comfortable and MAINE place to stay and a great chance to do lots of different and exciting things from there (or just to hunker down!) Juniper Ledge House is a great choice!

The master bedroom has beautiful, high views, a comfortable queen bed and pocket french doors open through to a small sitting room. (The couch in this room can be converted as an additional sleeping space and when sliding doors are closed, there are full pull-drapes to provide privacy between these 2 rooms).
The second master has a comfortable Sleep Number king bed. All bedroom windows have blackout curtains if you are a late sleeper.
The full kitchen features a double oven, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor and refrigerator with door ice and water. We provide dishes, silverware and all the cooking utensils you will need. There is a choice of Drip Style and Keurig Style Coffee Maker and a coffee grinder for your use.
Other amenities include Internet access with printer, Three tvs, Gas Fireplace (for rainy days!), Ironing Board and Iron.
Outdoors there is a Covered Front Porch with chairs and a convenient recycling area. Overlooking the water is a huge deck with 2 umbrellas, a large outdoor dining table with cushioned seating and pub table. There are 6 comfortable wicker chairs for relaxing. You have a Gas Grill, Beach cooler, chairs, towels and beach umbrella for your use.

The owners will greet you upon arrival, give you a short orientation to the house and answer any questions you may have about the area. You will find a notebook filled with information and "things to do", notes from them and from other renters.
We live on site in an apartment and walk out basement on the opposite side of the house during the summer.. The units are separated by an enclosed stairway and living spaces are on the opposite end of the house. Each of us have our own parking, living decks and separate entry areas. We honor your privacy completely! Although we're friendly, we never intrude but you can contact us if you need anything during the week.

- "We stayed here for a week with another couple as a central spot with relatively easy access to the coast (for great fresh lobster) and various lakes (for boating, etc.) as well as other site seeing opportunities. Pros: great location, very clean and comfortable. Excellent deck for relaxation during the day with practically zero noise from traffic or neighbors. The views of the lake is great! There are also Comfortable living spaces and bedrooms and a full kitchen. Besides the clean comfortable spaces, this place has a lot of amenities! Too many to list, lol. Cons: there is only one bathroom so if you have more than 4 people…this could be an issue. Also, if you have more than 4 people, there won’t be enough towels for the week. There is no laundry facilities available so no washing your towels half way through the week. This being the case, you’ll have a slight Oder to the towels half way through a weeks stay since there is no good place to allow the towels to dry properly. Something else to consider: the parking for this location is across the lawn and down a little bit of a grade with a stepping stone path. Your average person will be fine with this but if any guests have difficulty walking, this could be another point to consider as there is no guest parking allowed at the same level as the entry to the home"

Would definitely return." - "Quiet and peaceful" - "this is a perfect little cottage. it is big enough for two and to invite two more people for dinner. there is enough of everything: dishes, cutlery, towels, and if you're missing something, you can call Katie who responds quickly and helpfully. the star of this cottage is a screened in porch that increases the space of the first floor by another third. it is comfortable and gives onto the river, a tidal river that reverses course with the tides and provided me with endless fascination. while there are other cottages quite close, from the porch, you can't see them, and i rarely heard them. the cottage is wooded, so it stays pretty cool in the heat of the day and the screened-in porch catches whatever breezes may wander by. if there is a downside, it is that you are right off 127, the main drag through Georgetown and there is traffic noise all day and sometimes into the night. that said, it is hardly blastingly loud, just a noticeable rumble that might get in your way as you're listening to the birds. i appreciated the pass to Maine's Parks (and used it to visit Reid's Park at the end of Georgetown) and the history of the place (thanks Sam, for the stories!)."

Come relish in the serene location of this adorable cottage! Located on a saltwater peninsula directly on the New Meadows River in West Bath, Rosedale enjoys saltwater recreation on both sides of the peninsula.

Once there you will immediately be taken away by the smell of the salty sea air. There is, along with the beautifully landscaped gardens, a patio with outdoor furniture, a charcoal grill, a picnic table to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner on and a firepit sit around and cook smores .
Upon entering the cottage you will notice the homes newly remodeled kitchen. Off of the kitchen is the brand-new bathroom with a stand-up shower. Beyond the kitchen is the living room which is full of windows with views of the river. This room is cozy and set up perfectly for enjoying a book or puzzle. Off of the living room are the two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with a full size bed. Continuing through the living room is a riverfront sunporch directly over the water. The sun porch has a day bed that sleeps one. The cottage is equipped with WIFI, local TV, and internet-capable programming.

With Rosedale's pier and brand new expansive deep water dock with swim ladder, this place is the perfect location for enjoying all water activities such as swimming, kayaking, fishing and boating. While some parts of the New Meadows River may have no water at certain times due to the tides, you can always enjoy deep water access here. With the New Meadows Marina less than a mile down the road it is so easy to launch your own boat there or even rent one through them.

Beyond the cottage, there is a wide variety of restaurants in scenic Bath and Brunswick to enjoy the local cuisine. Both towns boast a wonderful interlude for those seeking that authentic, local, small-town shopping, art, theater, and museum experience. And, if you need a beach fix, Popham Beach and Reid State Park offer the absolute finest for those seeking the nearby sandy shores of Maine's bold seacoast!

The cottage has a renovated kitchen and bathoom and many hours were spent in the front sunroom. This was a good location for us to go to Brunswick for shopping, dining, and Maine State Music theatre, Boothbay for the wonderful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and Bath for the Maine Maritime Museum. It’s an excellent location for nature lovers and bird watchers. 5 minutes to Historic Bath and the Maine Maritime Museum. Close to several fishing charters and coastal lighthouse tours by boat. 15 minutes to Popham Beach and Fort Popham and 20 minutes to Reid State Park. A non smoking 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and two small futon couches located in the living room that can sleep up to an additional 2 young adults as well. Flat screen tv and WiFi. Canoe w/paddles and life jackets included. Gas grill and fire pit also included.

The bed was too soft for our taste and the dormers made getting in and out bed a little acrobatic. The property was very pretty." - "We had a wonderful stay! - "Just far enough off the road, great for dogs to play outside and not have to worry about them, the grass was nicely mowed all around, a nice woods walk . Inside the king bed was very comfortable would have liked some draws to put clothes in bedroom. Small smart TV , so remember to bring your Netflix, Hulu, Prime passwords with you. Kitchen was good the owner had left coffee, tea, OJ , milks of all varieties , and tons of bottled water . Deck had nice rocking chairs to sit outside, remember to bring bug spray or get citronella candle. It was very centrally located to Bath and lots of local drives as there were many informational brochures, that were there from the information center in Bath . Take a drive down Arrowsic to Five island lobster, great view and drive also visit Reid state park you will need bug spray. Then to Harpswell drive to Lands End but also walk Giants Stairs and eat at the Dauphin Restaurant beautiful views and the owners check on every table. A nice brewery was Fight Deck brewery Brunswick 15 mins from cabin and Wild Oats Bakery and cafe scratch bakery across the parking area.We will be back as cabin a great price and good location."

Overlooking a dynamic tidal marsh on the rocky Maine coast, this beautiful two-bedroom guest house is the perfect place to stay and unwind. Tucked away in the woods and surrounded by nature, you get the tranquil island getaway vibe yet you are still close to ocean beaches, a lovely pond with rope swing, excellent fresh seafood, downtown Bath, and only 40 minutes to Portland. This really is an ideal location for exploring midcoast Maine and surrounding areas.

Stay includes a pass to all the state parks which includes the local beaches. We have beach chairs, beach towels, an umbrella, sand toys, and boogie boards available for you to use as well.

The Space:
This craftsman-style home built in 2002 boasts soft pine floors throughout with lots of natural light. It has an open concept living space and kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basics you’ll need including a full-size fridge, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, dishes, cooking utensils, etc.

The screened-in back porch is perfect for dining outside, sipping your morning coffee or tea, and soaking up the sounds of the birds and nature, including bald eagles, ospreys, blue herons, ducks, deer, and more.

There is a full bathroom with a stand-up shower, washer, and dryer on the first floor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, both with a water view, as well as a half bathroom. Both bedrooms have a closet and dresser. Beds have brand new sheets, pillows, and down comforters. We also have comforters without down filling, if you prefer.

Guest access:
You will have the guest house and screened-in back porch all to yourself. There are walking trails close by.

Close By:
There is a nature preserve with trails just a few minutes walk up the road as well as a fresh water swimming spot (with rope swing!) also just a few minutes drive or 15 minute walk up the road. We are located 20 minutes from Reid State Park, 15 minutes to Five Islands Lobster Company, 30 minutes to Popham Beach, 40 minutes from Portland, and just 7 minutes to downtown Bath. There are many excellent seafood and non seafood restaurants close by.

Other things to note

We have satellite internet which generally works just fine. However, it can on occasion, run slower, especially when trying to use a video chat. Streaming videos and movies usually work well. The only time it has not worked is during severe weather. Broadband service is coming to the island in the very near future!

The parking is about 40 feet down from the house on so you must be comfortable walking on uneven ground; there is not a paved walkway to the guest house. We have never had a problem with this but appreciate that this may be problematic for older people or those with disabilities.

We do not have cable service, but we have internet TV to stream Netflix, Prime, and other services.

Cell phone service can be spotty depending on the service provider. There is a landline in case of emergency.

The owners live in the main house next door which is about 40 feet from the guest house. The house and neighborhood are usually very quiet. Our 12-year-old son who visits every other week sometimes plays in the yard with friends. We also have a small cat who loves frolicking in the yard. She is very friendly and loves attention. However, please do not let her in the guest house, as we keep the guest house pet free.

- "The morning view of mother nature on display every morning, sipping coffee on the screened porch was incredible. The cottage has a central location to the beachs, City of Bath and the best Lobster shack ever. Great to stay all day exploring or use as a base camp. Can't wait till the next year for our return." - "Perfect for a relaxing week. Cottage was simple but comfortable and plenty roomy for the two of us. Screen porch overlooking the river got a lot of use. A nice surprise was all the conservation land on the island open to the public. I found out about this online— It would be nice to let guests know about this great resource and provide a map! Great kayaking nearby, but no access from the cottage itself. Boat landing at the end of the peninsula and the town landing worked fine. The description listed a DVD player, but there was just a satellite cable box. No big deal for us, but just wanted to note. A fire pit was also listed but we couldn’t find it. We made a fire in the charcoal grill and that was fine. We had a nice bike ride down a dirt road in Arrowsic just over the bridge, but if you bring bikes, know that the main road has fast traffic and no shoulder. If you hike, bring headnets and long sleeves. Mosquitoes were fierce (even in early September) and DEET bug spray got ignored. Bugs weren’t bad around the cottage, though. Beautiful island, great classic lobster place at five islands harbor, lots to do and see nearby, or just read, relax and watch the tide. Overall a great week!"

26 Centre apt. 2 has a modern loft style in a historic brick building. Steps away on the street below you will find shops with all you will need — bakery, coffee shop, chocolate and sweets shop, Byrne's Irish Pub, Bath Natural Market, used bookstore, art gallery, tacos and more.
Other things to note
Parking is off street behind the building: at the back of the building there is a wooden deck with signs indicating it is parking for 26 Centre Street Guests. Park with the signs in front of the car (rather than parking parallel to the deck) to allow room for other guests cars.

This is one of three apartments in the upper floors of an awesome renovated historic building in the center of Downtown Bath's historic district. Large livingroom windows look out over Centre Street where you'll find restaurants, a bookshop, bakery, art gallery and Bath Natural Market.
A shared washer/dryer is in the building and there is off street parking for your use, free (one car).

I do think the listing should be adjusted to be clearer about the following: 1) The bedroom, while large, is on the floor above the rest of the apartment, with a long and steep flight of stairs down to the bathroom; 2) The only window in the bedroom opens onto a fire escape that reaches to the ground, so we did not feel comfortable leaving it open and found the bedroom stuffy in a warm week in June despite the two fans provided. Kitchen and living room are nice, location is delightful for walking around Bath, and we enjoyed our stay!"

Welcome to this charming family-owned waterfront home in West Bath. This tranquil retreat offers a meticulously maintained waterfront cottage with sweeping westerly views and a private deepwater dock.

Enjoy stunning sunsets each evening in the Adirondack chairs, on the private dock, on the balcony, or while inside the climate-controlled (AC & heat) cottage with panoramic views. Guests have access to two kayaks to launch from the dock and explore the waters and many islands nearby. There is also a fire pit and gas grill for guests to enjoy during their stay.

The cottage has just been completely refurnished. Each of the bedrooms offers welcoming sleeping quarters for you and your loved ones. The upstairs bedroom (the main bedroom of the home) includes a king bed, full bathroom, smart TV, and a desk workspace for those who want to catch up on remote work or school-related tasks. The second bedroom includes a cozy sofa bed (queen) and smart TV. The main level includes a kitchen, full bathroom, washer/dryer, and living room with sweeping westerly views of the water.

- "Cliff and Amanda’s home was perfect for my wife and I and our two children. The home was away from the hustle and bustle but also close enough to Brunswick and Bath to enjoy all the towns have to offer. The house was immaculate and full of all the modern conveniences, including air conditioning in every room for a small heat wave during our stay. They provided kayaks which we used every day to explore the cove. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We would stay here again without any hesitation. Cliff was very communicative and provided us with plenty of recommendations. "

A cool, mid-sized apartment in Maine’s “City of Ships”. Recent remodel in the 1849 Elijah and Mary Upton House with everything you will need for your stay. Bath is a delightful river town with restaurants, shops, river cruises, walking tours, trolley rides all orientated around it’s proximity to the river. Reid and Popham beach - gorgeous state parks are located just down river. Mountain biking, hiking, historic neighborhoods begin at your doorstep.

The space
This apartment is located on the second floor, with a first floor private entry hall. At the top of the stairs is a full bath with shower and a separate laundry. The stair opens into the kitchen/living area and includes an out-of-the-way desk and office chair. A separate bedroom with walk-in dressing room finishes out the space and allows a space for yoga or tai chi practice. Located in a building constructed in 1849 as a private residence and once converted into four apartments, it now houses two VRBO spaces and a craftsman’s workshop. Although it has been recently remodeled it still retains some of the feel of the old place with large, divided-lite windows, 9’ high ceilings, period moldings and a neighborhood of similarly aged homes. The south wall has 3 classic double hung windows which let in wonderful light throughout the whole of the space. The patio has table and chairs and is a nice spot to catch up on social media or enjoy a glass of wine.

WiFi is available throughout the apartment as well the outside areas.

Some interaction with me, other guests and my family may occur but in general it is pretty chill.

We provide a vehicle pass for State Parks which may be used for day use everywhere in the state.

Other things to note
We are located in what is known as Midcoast Maine which generally starts in Brunswick (12 minutes south) and runs up to the Belfast area (1.75 hours northeast). About half way is Camden and a little closer than that is Boothbay Harbor. Bar Harbor is about 2.75 hours northeast of here. Portland is 40 minutes.

There are a couple of bicycles to use (byo helmet), cooler, beach chairs, towels and other supplies for outdoor fun.

As a working artisan, there are some pieces around the space that are examples of my work. I would be delighted to speak with you about purchasing similar items.
