This home has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a sparkling pool and multiple outdoor living spaces on each level. The home is designed with comfort in mind and strives to provide the guests a home-like feeling. The Gray House is a completely renovated historical cottage dating back to the early 1900s, in the historical fishing village of Cortez, Florida. The village was founded in 1865. The house was built on stilts by Mr. Ireland in1870 . He sold the house to Grey Fulford in 1931. Grey moved the house on to land.
He married Priscilla Pringle and lived there until 1989.
The cottage has original hardwood floors, marble counter tops ,and beautiful views. The cottage has a king bed, pull out couch in the second bedroom , dish washer, built in refrigerator, gas stove, large microwave, grill, table and chairs on the back deck. The bath is spacious with a walk in double shower. There are 2 TVs with internet stations and apple tv.
The house is located on a 2.5 acre lot with a 60 foot dock on Sarasota Bay. There is (1) deep water slip and Kayaks (3) available on the premises with (3) fishing rods and beach equipment..
The cottage has plenty of parking for boat trailers It is landscaped with indigenous plants only. The house is wheel chair accessible from a walkway and ramps up through the back door.
This is a perfect place to getaway and safely, relax.
The cottage is dog friendly but 😣 no cats or birds .

- "The house is so charming,cozy, and modern. The architecture inside is very unique. There's a beautiful view of the water from the entire inside, and palm trees can be seen through all the windows. We brought fresh fish back from the nearby fish market and grilled on the deck. We regularly took the provided beach chairs and umbrella to Cortez beach. My husband especially enjoyed fishing on the fishing dock. I loved seeing the birds there.We rarely saw anyone at other docks so it was super private. The front yard is big which provides extra privacy at the house.There's an unattached garage out by the street which is very far away from the house-- which the owner occasionally visits, perhaps doing some quiet work inside of it. Briefly we saw him tending plants on the grounds but he stayed at a distance as if not to bother us. He was friendly when we approached him and was very accommodating and easy going. He provided countless perks that we greatly appreciated, from fishing bait-- to shampoo- to laundry soap! There's the cutest pineapple growing out front that we always fawned over when we came and went. Lots of awesome wildlife, too. Hope to come back soon!"

- "Wonderful!" - "The pool and hot tub were the highlight to our group of 7. The variety of places for us to sit and relax was great from the comfy sectional, large kitchen table, umbrella table on the upstairs deck, and bar, couches and lounge chairs poolside. Great restaurants nearby but we also used the quality gas grill to cook one meal. Conventional coffee maker(with filters) and a Keurig but bring coffee! Kitchen had all the cooking utensils and pans and plates and glassware. All bedrooms had TV’s and ceiling fans. Mattresses were fine with soft sheets and nice quilts."

- "We loved the house. Everything was very clean. The pool was great for everyone. Fished the whole time and had a fish fry. The green light in the canal at night was very cool. Only caught one crab in the trap. We would recommend reserving a golf cart ahead of time if you visit during spring break. They were all taken! Otherwise you can just set up at the beach early morning with a vehicle when traffic is light, park back at the house, then walk over when you're ready. Traffic is pretty bad back and forth from the island. Highly recommended 👌"

- "This was perfect for our family boating weekend." - "The house was perfectly beautiful. it had new amenities and fixtures (in fact the entire house was new). We rented a boat and tied it up at the waters edge on the dock-like decking. The pool was nice. Tastefully decorated- comfortable and upscale at the same time. The beds were comfortable and it was close to a lot of fun things to do. We saw manatees right out back in the canal. Yay! The owner left a note and a binder of very helpful information. Couple minor issues (sharing for the owner’s awareness really): The living room TV was connected to a Denon receiver- which I love, but we had a very hard time getting the input to display on the TV because it was not a Denon remote control. Would have been very nice to just have a TV remote so we could watch TV or a proper Denon remote. The elevator did not work for us. We mad many adults and a tech person and we all tried. Maybe if we had pulled harder on the door it would have worked but we did not want to risk hurting it. So three stories of stairs was only an inconvenience the first and last day with our suitcases. Highly recommend this beautiful home!!"

- "Beautiful brand new home with great views! We loved staying here. This home is directly on a canal; all the interior furnishings were new and very chic, and the place was spotlessly clean. I felt like I was vacationing on a magazine cover page. The bedrooms were comfortable and had beautiful bathrooms, the detail in each space was very well thought out. We also are very intrigued by the eco-conscious aspect of this community being built, our friends that stayed with us used the Tesla charger and were delighted to have that onsite for guests! Anna Maria Island was just a short drive over the bridge, and we could explore and enjoy the beaches and all the fun places there quite easily and conveniently.
