We were arriving very late at night and they made sure that everything was very well setup for us. The location is great. There are quite a lot of beaches within 10 minutes drive, a couple are less than five minutes. Beware, all these beaches have some great waves. If you don't like that it may be something to think about. But the beaches feel very exclusive and are stunning. The view from the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. We had no mosquito issues in the room which was very nice. They didn't manage to sneak in. The rooms are spacious and they all have a terrace with a kitchen. This is great in the evenings when you want to try your culinary skills with local ingredients."

- "The hotel is very well situated for a visit to what is my favorite area of Guadeloupe. Wonderful beaches and excellent food are plentiful in Deshaies. Rooms are comfortable and very spacious, situated in a tropical garden. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful to this lone traveler who speaks just a bit of French. The breakfast buffet--included in the room rate--is a very nice plus. The pool is unheated, and can be icy cold. My friend and I gave it a go, and felt slightly numbed by the experience. The internet only functions while near their offices in the veranda. The best fact if the hotel is it's great proximity to Gran Anse beach, and a quick drive to Deshaies where you'll find most if the restaurants. "

Best beach we have seen in Guadeloupe just steps below villa with amazing snorkelling right off the beach." - "My husband and I and our son and fiance stayed here for 6 nights. It was our first visit to Guadeloupe. We are not the kind of travelers that say "why spend money on where you stay, you're never there anyway". This villa was EXACTLY what we wanted. The views are unbelievably beautiful. Early mornings were delightful with a cool breeze and little birds sharing our pastries. Sunsets and stargazing were incredible. The pool was clean and refreshing. And, the beach? The private path was easy to navigate for those reasonably fit, we had no issues. As it was off season, there were rarely more than 10 people on the entire beach. We enjoyed snorkeling on both sides of La Plage de Leroux, the water clear and sparkling. We slept well on the comfortable bedding in the air conditioned bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped. FYI, we shopped for groceries at a Super U in Bouillante and Sainte Rose but on the last day discovered that we could find pretty much everything we needed at the market in DeShaies! After much searching, we also discovered we could have found the memory card we needed in a gift shop in DeShaies as well! Villa de Nid is so convenient to everything you need and many activities on the island! Franck, we can't thank you enough for your gracious care and hospitality and sharing this delightful vacation home with us. It was exactly what we were looking for and we enjoyed every minute of our stay here."

He showed us around and made sure we settled in. The pool is inviting and receives great sun and the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach. Villa Coco's outside areas are wonderful, we spent many hours on the covered porch playing games, listening to music or enjoying a meal. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The bedrooms are air conditioned and comfortable. The house was very clean and modern. Everything worked well. The garden surrounding the house is beautiful and makes the house very private. The pictures don't do the house justice, it is pettier than the pictures. We saw countless birds, geckos, an iguana and chicken with babies all in the yard. The house is an easy walk to the Langley resort and all of its amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the house."

Climate was great this January, with daily bried rainforest showers coming through. Preferred this location relative to coastal unit where we also stayed, due to cleaner air. There appeared to be excessive burning of sugar cane, brush, etc along some of the coastal areas ... with higher particulate air counts than I’m used to in USA. We were very grateful to stay there." - "If you are reading this commentary in English, appreciate that you are going to a very French island, where you will be surrounded by the French language and population -- Fantastic! This villa is ideally situated on the island of Basse-Terre. You can get here from the airport in 45 minutes or, if you make the trip on a busy Monday morning, perhaps 90 minutes. It is about 10 minutes south of the town of Deshaies, where there is a concentration of waterfront restaurants, a patisserie, a wine shop and grocery shops, a Botanical Garden with a shockingly good restaurant, and two great beaches. The local village, Ferry, has a patisserie that is a 2-minute drive -- and its own gem of a beach (our favorite) that is a 1-minute drive or a 5-minute walk. So, one could exist for a week and never drive more than 15 minutes, or take advantage of the location for easy explorations of the entire island. The villa is at the end of a quiet (except for the roosters) cul de sac up the hill from the coast. When its green gate closes behind you, you are transported to a tropical garden on the edge of what appears to be impenetrable jungle vegetation. We felt safe, secure and at peace for our entire visit. The villa is not extra fancy but it has everything that one needs, including conveying an immediate feeling of comfort. Small but nice pool, three generously-sized bedrooms, nice bathrooms, hot tub -- surprisingly enjoyable even in the heat, air conditioning - which we only used twice, complete kitchen and, for those who can't live without it, very good wifi. The local manager, Marie-Jo, greeted us and pointed out a few useful things, and then she left us alone for our week -- although we knew we could call her if we had any questions. Marie-Jo was there to say good-bye at the end, making sure we had our airport drive timing correct. Our communications with the owner of the villa were always answered cordially and in a timely manner. Thanks to these interchanges, we had a good feeling about our destination before we went -- and we were correct!"

A beach is under five minutes walk away. Parking is available for free. Please noes that the walls between rooms are not soundproof, so you will hear what fellow guesrs are doing in their rooms. They also is an overflowing sewer at the entry to the property which caused an awful smell when sitting in the room's outdoor space."

- "The room was absolutely spotless and had a lot of places to store my overpacking. The bed and bath are indoors, and the kitchen/table are outdoors. I was able to walk around barefoot both indoors and out without encountering any grit, unbelievable for a beach vacation. The kitchen is equipped with every imaginable convenience, and the room was just really comfortable. It was clear that the lovely and helpful hosts, Anne-Sophie and Alain, had thought about and anticipated guests' needs, e.g. large drying rack for beach stuff, mosquito netting (not needed when we were there), good lighting, a safe, a well stocked kitchen, an outdoor shower by the common pool. We visited in January and thought we would need bug spray, but didn't despite wet weather. To get to restaurants, a car is best. Though the town is pretty close by, I would have felt uncomfortable walking the narrow and windy road, though we saw a few intrepid pedestrians. And yum, a boulangerie up the road. Yum. The area itself felt very safe, and there is a safe in the room for valuables, though it didn't feel necessary. Minor cons: There is enough parking, though the lot is narrow and may require some maneuvering to get into a spot if you are a bad driver like me :) The wifi could be stronger. I didn't have a consistent signal in bed on my phone, though my husband's did better. The signal was fine at the dining table. My husband said he heard some traffic in the mornings. Overall, spectacular stay!"
