Clear Creek Cabin is located in the scenic Driftless Area of Northeast Iowa.
As you walk out the doors of the secluded cabin you will find a spring-fed, one acre pond. Complete with bluegill, bass and catfish. There is also 70 feet of white sand beach. Hike 100 yards and you will find 3.2 miles of the Clear Creek trout stream. If you enjoy hiking or hunting, the cabin is adjacent to 800 acres of public hunting land.
For cyclists, The Mississippi River Trail is nearby. More fishing is also located in the Upper Iowa and Mississippi Rivers. And there are many area golf courses and snowmobile trails. Scenic beauty abounds!
And that is just the outdoors.
Clear Creek Cabin boasts 2,700 sq ft of cozy hardwood excellence. The rustic good looks of the original cabin that was built in 1873 (with another log frame addition in 1885 and a modern addition in 2000) is combined with all the modern amenities you would want.
Start your relaxing stay with a full, restful night of sleep in one of the 5 bedrooms. Choose from a king pillow top, queen, full or one of four twin XL beds or twin bunk bed. There are two plush-top futons. One in the balcony/den and another in an upstairs bedroom. There is even a crib for your infant.
A modern heat and air conditioning system will keep you at the right temperature as you wake up. Next you may find a hot shower or a soak in the tub is in order. Choose from one of the three full baths; one with a shower, one with a shower/tub and another with a shower/tub. Don't forget to drop your bath towel in the towel warmer so it is ready when you get out!
The smell of a hot cup of coffee or tea (or maybe even a "lumberjack" breakfast) are easily in the realm of possibilities for the full kitchen. It has all of the large and small appliances you will need during your stay. There is a full set or dishes and utensils and even a charcoal grill on the flagstone patio outside the back door.
Enjoy your meals on the porch or at the picnic table overlooking the pond or in the large dining room. With seating for 10 at the reclaimed lumber (that my Great-Grandfather milled many years ago) dining room table, there is sure to be ample space for all.
Relax in the living room with reclining seating for 10 guests. This room has a 55 inch SMART TV to connection to all your favorites on Netflix, Amazon, Disney or YouTube. You may also enjoy complimentary high speed, fiber optic Wi-Fi for your mobile devices and Wi-Fi enabled phone calls. Or you could follow the kids upstairs to play with the various toys including the 3 foot tall doll house.
This property has something for everyone. Now, go explore!
- "We brought our extended family here as a gift to my in-laws, and it did not disappoint. There was more than enough room for 14 people, and having three nice bathrooms was great. This place is remote enough to truly get away from it all but close enough to towns to do things (like shop or tube the river)." - "The log cabin and number of beds are attractive. The serene nature of the pond with a sugar sand beach is the greatest attraction. Swimming, paddle boat, fishing are all part of the great experience."

- "Peaceful secluded location. A front porch to watch the stars at night and enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise in the morning!" - "The property lists as having air conditioning with the air conditioning was not adequate for cooling the space during the 90° temperatures of late July. The air really did not reach the bedrooms . Ceiling fans are helpful but ,again, did not help in the bedroom. Perhaps you could consider some sort of small fans in there to help with the circulation for summer. Found The cabin it was very comfortable and otherwise we'll equipped. I loved the setting surrounding the property."

We will definitely stay here again." - "Beautiful" - "It was a great place for us to stay on our hunting trip, plenty of room for our stuff and all of us!" - "We were unable to go. My mother n law suffered a stroke." - "Easily will sleep 12, had ample room for my children and grandchildren. (Had 11 in our party) Property is a work in progress where the owners have been updating and will become more awesome. Hot tub on premises worked well. We did go to Wal-Mart and buy and added a defoaming agent as it made way too much foam when agitated. Had nice large refrigerator and stove and oven worked well. Has washer and dryer which was nice to use for our bedding and towels we brought. Had a few fires in the firepit and used my cast iron pie makers to make pizza's and then of course had smores. Very close to trout streams which my son's, grandsons and I took advantage of while the girls took off to do their thing. Beautiful back yard view of the upper Iowa River. I would come back to this place again."

- "My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We always wanted to try a tiny home, and loved it inside and out. Being right by the river was serene, with abundant wildlife, especially birds of prey. My only early hesitation was that in the pictures you didn’t think there was another residence next door, however after staying it was a none issue and still felt like it was private enough. There is a canoe/kayak rental nearby that was a huge plus for us! Rest and adventure all in one! Thank you 😊"

The owner was very attentive to details and we felt very comfortable and at home. We would love to stay again sometime, thanks!" - "Thw house and grounds are beautifully landscaped and decorated. Being a gardener myself it felt at home seeing the flower beds and watching the hummingbirds and butterfly’s. The sunrises were great to watch. Well stocked kitchen, nice grill and firepit with wood provided. Only downside is the two regular beds are very tall and extremely hard to get in if you are older with back or hip issues, however they are very comfortable. Upper Iowa River just a few miles away.
Outdoor Hot Tub Jacuzzi
- "As expected. Lots of space. Deck and hot tub were great. Bring your own sheets, bath and kitchen towels. Unfortunately didn't catch any fish, and it wasn't for lack of trying. Owner said they are trenching the pond soon and stocking, so hopefully it will be better fishing soon! Beautiful area, and very quiet. Drive in to Decorah and see the hatchery. Fish the upper iowa river. Gorgeous area with lots to do! We would stay here again, especially if the pond fishing picks up. "

This amazing lodge is exactly what you need for an unplugged getaway from your busy fast-paced lives. This acreage is right off a hard surface road outside Dorchester IA. Thousands of acres of public ground within minutes for hiking, hunting, and fishing. Upper Iowa River down the road for trout fishing, kayaking and tubing. Mighty Mississippi less than 30 minutes away. Nothing says kick back and relax like a wrap around deck, wood burning stove, fire pit, grilling, and the famous NE IA bluffs!
- "This was a beautiful home that slept 8 comfortably. Pool and hot tub were awesome. It is on a busy highway outside of any close towns but this is what we were looking for so it was excellent for our purposes." - "great stay, thank you" - "We had 3 families, ages 5-70. This was a perfect house to accommodate all of us. The kids loved the pool (which had been upgraded in size and with a deck/privacy fence since the last time we stayed). The house was well furnished for cooking as well as with outdoor furniture, bags game, fire pit and pool toys. The Decorah area offered plenty for us to do. The only downfalls were the distance to town and the property is on a fairly busy road which is a bit noisy. Otherwise, this was a very comfortable and fun place to stay."

- "Space true to pictures & description! Fit our needs for the weekend! Slight snag with check in, but host accessible & quickly corrected. Much appreciated!" - "Wonderful place to stay. Only complaint is lack of a rod for hanging clothes in the bedroom, and hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes when showering." - "We had a small snafu with the apartment being very chilly (air conditioning turned way up) but the host worked with us to get it resolved."
