This 867 square foot riverfront abode has a secluded feel while being close to the amenities of town. This charming cottage comes with a queen bed, 2 sleeper singles, and a double futon. It boasts a full bathroom with customary toiletries and hairdryer provided as well as plenty of towels, etc. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster. Coffee, teas, and snacks provided. Washer and dryer are conveniently located in the garage.

The most appealing features are the banks of windows providing panoramic views of the San Saba River. A deck attached to the sitting room is ideal for coffee or cocktails while nature-watching.

Located on one of the widest parts of the river, it offers excellent fishing, kayaking, swimming and wildlife viewing.
The property itself is a 2-acre tree-covered peninsula, the San Saba River on one side and Los Moras Creek on the other. A large private dock provides river-front viewing.
The tip of the property connects to a 4+ acre island, which provides additional area for fishing, exploring, bird-watching, etc! Very private!

The cottage sits at the end of a small, quiet subdivision just 1.5 miles west of downtown Menard. There is parking available for several vehicles and a carport. The yard has large open areas for lawn games. Smoking is allowed outside only near the firepit area.

Amenities include a large fire pit (wood provided), charcoal grill, Wifi, unit a/c/heat, washer/dryer, RoKu TV, DVD player, indoor games. The yard has large open areas for lawn games and outdoor activities, corn hole and croquet provided.

Menard County boasts many historical sites such as the
Presidio de San Saba, once known as Presidio San Luis de las Amarillas, a fortress constructed in 1757 and designed to protect Spanish interests in the region, including nearby Mission Santa Cruz de San Saba.
Fort McKavett State Historic Site is also located in Menard County. It's a short 30-minute drive to see this frontier fort established as Camp on the San Saba in 1852 to protect settlers from Indian raids.

The large living area features a reclining sectional with 4 recliners.
and a 40" smart television that you can use with your own Netflix, Hulu, or other accounts. The open concept kitchen has matte stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave and quartz countertops. We provide a coffee maker and a small supply of ground coffee, filters, and sweeteners. The kitchen is fully stocked with basic cooking supplies, blender, griddle, mixer, toaster, and 12 settings of dinnerware and glasses. There is seating for two at the bar, and a picnic table on the patio.

Bedroom - king bed and 32" smart television. The attached closet contains the washer and dryer. Additional sleeping space is available with a rollaway twin bed (36"x73") and a folding cot (31"x75"), which can be placed in the master bedroom, hallway, or living room.

The bathroom has a vanity area and a walking shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided.

Outdoor space - the 900 square foot patio has a picnic table with seating for 8, plus 4 patio chairs. You will often be able to spot deer and other wildlife and the only sounds are the birds. Welcome to nature!

The barndominium is located less than a mile from the Elm Creek Marina and boat ramp. We have covered boat parking.

There were plenty of outlets outside to plug the boats in for charging. There is only o e bedroom with a single king bed. Having 4 guys here, we had one in the bed, one on the couch, one in the floor and one on the roll away bed. Wish they had a bunk bed or something stuffed in the bedroom too. Oh well, we knew what we were getting into, this was the only rental house we could find in the area. The internet is a joke, hardly works a bit during the middle of the day or early morning. Could not get any streaming tv to work, check emails, or even download music or surf the net. We would go to the Elm Creek shop for internet service, they have great burgers there! The lake is thought to fish. Three days straight staring at the live scope. Saw a few to cast at with zero response. We caught 3 fish total between 4 of us in 3 days. Nothing over 3 lbs."

Historic Clear Creek Ranch has been a favored occupation site for hundreds of years. Dozens of metates (Indian corn grinders) drilled into the native stones speak to hundred of years of Native American occupation.

The ranch cabin is a 2 bedroom/2 bath house with a completely furnished kitchen. It is available for a night, a week, or a month and can sleep 6. Wi-Fi, basic dish TV, and DVD player are available if connection to the technical world is desired.
The large master bedroom has a private bathroom, large walk-in closet, and a very comfy king size bed.
The bunk room is furnished with a twin size bunkbed and a trundle bed. There is another foldaway twin size bed and a portable crib available if there are any extra guest planned.
Enjoy a cup of coffee from the east deck (which is constructed primarily of repurposed materials) with the sun blessing the morning as the wildlife awakes and the roosters crow. Stroll around the grounds to find baby chicks learning feeding habits from their mother, ducks swimming in the pond or troughs, or perhaps the mischievous goats crunching on there hay.
A gas grill, small fire pit, and washer/dryer are available on site to guests.

River Ridge is 31 acres that borders the spring fed San Saba River. The cabin rests where Native American tribes camped for thousands of years. Lots of wildlife. Porches in front and back. Come see it for yourself!

The house is perfect for a large family. It really has lots of beds, room, shade & amenities. Cell phone signal allowed us to use our mobile wifi even though there was no internet signal to connect to work. If you look for a perfect retreat, hospitable, clean with a very supportive host, this is the perfect house to stay. It really is the best Vrbo that I have stayed and I have traveled a lot for work. My entire team of all generations loved it. (mid 20's to mid 50's). The first floor gives such an amazing place for gathering as a family or group, cooking, playing games, talking, cooling off in the heat of the summer. Blake responded promptly when we could not figure out how to turn on the oven and responded to our questions when we were booking. The outdoors area is excellent with many things to do; we wished we stayed longer for a short vacation after a long week of intense work and use some of the kayaks and smoke BBQ kitchen outdoors. I will recommend this for big families looking for a great family get away without technology, or for a business trip of a big team. It's about 10 minutes drive to downtown Menard, but next to San Saba river with all sorts of equipment to enjoy the river privately. The early mornings are a dream looking at the sun coming out from the upper balcony or seating on the outdoor chairs with a good breeze in the Texas Summer heat. In the morning, you will be visited by many animals walking around the property or across the river: deer, squirrels, goats, skunks and many birds singing. It was beautiful. The team loved the sunset and afternoons in the river. I can only say good things about this property and its host. Amazing value!"

The Bunkhouse is a stand alone lodging facility adjacent to the cabin. It was originally meant to be an extension of the cabin but can serve as separate quarters. An indoor toilet and outdoor shower(heated water) along with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee pot meet the basic needs. There are 10 bunk beds (twins and fulls) that can sleep 14.

The 2 lodging options of The Chaparral Ranch share a rustic porch as well as an outdoor grill and sitting area. Enjoy the views of sunrise and sunset on the quaint cabin porch.
