Our property is located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands with wonderful panoramic views of the Cairngorms right at our doorstep. We are only a 5 minute drive to the nearest town which has all the amenities you would require. Aviemore is a 15 minute drive and has all the outdoor pursuits you could think of together with a couple of supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Inverness, Elgin, Nairn and Forres are the next nearest at around 30 miles to each.
The house has been extensively renovated over the past few years to bring it to a modern standard with central heating throughout and a multi fuel fire in the lounge.
The property is laid out over 2 floors with 1 bedroom located on the ground floor which has a brand new disabled friendly en-suite wet room with shower and toilet and a bay window.
Also located on the ground floor is a spacious lounge area with multi fuel stove and bay window.
The conservatory at the front of the property is intended to be used as the dining area and has ample seating for 10 people and is equipped with a full air conditioning unit keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

A superbly located fully modernised traditional Shepherds cottage well off the beaten track but only one and a half miles from the popular town of Grantown on Spey. The cottage is set on its own in the foothills of the Cairngorms, with a private stone road running through woodland and over open moorland - the peace here is only disturbed by the grazing sheep. The cottage has been fully modernised with spacious family accommodation of open plan ground floor living room/dining room/kitchen with attractive hardwood flooring and the original stone walls, there is a superb log fire for the winter months.

The cottage has wonderful views over the adjoining Cairngorm Mountains and down the Spey Valley. Some visitors are quite happy to stay at the house just watching the changing lights and colours over the surrounding countryside rather than travelling to the many superb places of interest in the local area.

The cottage has easy access to easy riverside walks in Grantown on Spey or alternatively more arduous walks are available directly from the cottage itself. Grantown on Spey has an 18 hole golf course with a par three golf course available at the Craggan Centre along with football golf & frisby golf. The Craggan Outdoor Centre also provides opportunities for such things as archery, abseiling, high ropes, kayaking, mini quads and mountain bike hire. Water rafting is available closer to Forres at Relugus with Ace Adventure.

The most amazing views and peace that you rarely experience anymore, only the birds singing, it was just perfect and only a 5 min drive to Grantown on Spey which had all the amenities required for a holiday. There is so much to do in the area as well, many walks from the door and so many beautiful places to visit. Such a cosy cottage, lovely and warm and plenty of logs supplied for the open fire. It is well equipped and the beds were very comfy. The only thing I can slightly pick at was the fact there were no hand towels, (maybe they'd just forgotten to put them out) I did manage to find one in the linen cupboard so it wasn't too bad!l We will definitely be returning to this absolute gem of a cottage but next time will bring bikes and maybe kayaks as we could have made good use of them in this amazing part of the country."

There is a large entrance hall with plenty of room for coats and boots, a generous kitchen with large kitchen table (seats 10) which leads onto (up some stairs) a huge sitting room with panoramic window to enjoy the stunning views. A large L-shaped sofa, second sofa and armchairs provide lots of room for everyone. The kitchen is really well equipped and should have everything you need. Basics such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, teabags, dishwasher tablets and cloths are all provided.

The house is accessed by a farm track. Please be cautious with low vehicles. In winter a 4x4 is adviseable.

Like most remote houses and cottages in the area, Aird has it's own water supply. We ask you to be conservative with the water. The cows, sheep and deer around the house need to have water too!

Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times. The house is surrounded by wildlife and they must not be disturbed. Please also pick up dog poo from the garden.

Please Note: There are some steep steps up from the kitchen to the sitting room, which might not be accessible for everyone. The paved areas leading to the front door and around the house are uneven and can be slippy.

- "Party of 13, 3 families, adults and kids of mixed ages, 3 night stay in November. Great house with lots of amenities including heated hot tub, sauna and pool table, which went down really well with the older kids. Well stocked kitchen and good amount of dining space which can be an issue when there’s a large party. Great location, with lots of nice walks nearby. The hosts gave us contact details and replied really quickly to messages. Only minor (and I mean minor) niggles were that the heaters didn't seem to be working in part of the house (the bedrooms at the back) meaning it was pretty chilly the house could do with some maintenance, just minor things, nothing that caused us much problem. We would definitely book this house again, so that speaks for itself. We sent a separate email with some details after our stay, just for some feedback."

- "House very comfortable and very well equipped. Brilliant location. Hot tub and garden were amazing! gowns were well used. Lovely relaxing week!" - "We had a great week at FPL. Weather wasn’t the kindest but that’s what water proofs are for. House was always warm and welcoming to return to. The house is up a small lane so not much traffic goes past. Great walks from the front door in the forest at the end of the track. Grantown-On-Spey only a few minutes up the road for takeaways and supplies. A few minor running issues that need to be addressed ie Yale lock didn’t work, had to discard 2 oven trays as they were rusty and flaking, no grill tray but these are small problems. Couldn’t work out how to turn on decking lights and extractor fan in 1 of the shower rooms didn’t work. Again all small problems easily fixable. Dogs loved the garden but be aware that the front fence and gate are low so if your dogs see the Roe deer that we’re always in the field opposite the house they may be able to jump the fence/gate. Lots of wildlife visited the garden; red squirrel, great woodpecker and lots of other birds. In all a great stay in a great house."

Asgard house is ideally situated to access the Malt Whisky Trail and the wonderful Cairngorms National Park. There are golf courses close by in Ballindalloch, Grantown, Carrbridge and Boat of Garten. For walkers, the Speyside Way and the Dava way are on the doorstep and the River Spey offers excellent fishing for anglers. It is a short drive to a wide range of other outdoor pursuits, museums and castles.

Grantown has a nice mix of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. A local Co-op store is located on the town square for larger grocery shopping. The town square is a 5 minute walk from the house.

The property has a No-Smoking policy inside the house. The property consists of a driveway for 2 cars. I will arrange to meet guests at the property at a convenient time to hand the keys over. We do ask that dogs are not left unattended at anytime. We would prefer that dogs are not allowed on the sofa or beds.

The nearest airport is located in Inverness, which is located 29 miles away. Cars can be rented from the airport. The nearest train station is Aviemore, which is 14 miles away.

Grantown is accessed via the A95. The A9,which is the main road to Edinburgh or Inverness,is located 9 miles away. Grantown is serviced by regular bus routes connecting to Inverness and the surrounding villages of the Cairngorms.

In its rural setting on the Skye of Curr road, on the outskirts of the small Highland village of Dulnain Bridge, Caberfeidh is easily accessible, and is just a short drive from the larger towns of Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore. Whatever your passion, whatever the season, the Cairngorms have something for everyone. Enjoy strenuous high-mountain treks or relaxing lochside strolls, mountain biking, water sports, winter snow sports, fishing, golf, wildlife watching, castles and culture, whisky and fine dining, or just enjoy the fresh air, peace and quiet. There is no shortage of space to find your own tranquil picnic spot set against the spectacular scenery of the mountains. Caberfeidh is well placed for exploring further afield too; in little more than an hour’s drive you can be dolphin watching at Chanonry Point on the Moray Coast or exploring Royal Deeside on the other side of the Cairngorms.
