We needed to be at the airport at 6am on a Sunday and there were no trains running at that hour. Our only options were the bus (with 14 stops between the hotel and the airport), Uber, or taxi. The hotel staff were helpful in assisting with scheduling a taxi ahead of time for us to get to the airport. Would be happy to stay here again."

Apartment is incredible! Felt completely at home. Located main street, Haarlem. 12 degree inside as I arrived. 20 degrees an hour later. 22 degrees constant. Seating, I needed a nice big sofa to crash out on and it was perfect, if a little dated and stained. Cooking a meal was adequate, induction hob and fan oven working well. The shower room and toilet is faultless. Plenty of storage space in bedroom. I was expecting a double bed but it was two singles together with double.linen. I wouldn't mind a single bed, but this arrangement didn't suit my restless nights. Also, it was a single occupancy booking, they left me with a single duvet on a double bed (two singles) which I found very odd, no reason to complain as I was warm enough but would've been more comfortable with a double duvet. Cleanliness gets a 4.5/5 as some of the cutlery needed cleaning but the overall cleanliness is 5/5. The balcony with street view was one of the best things about my trip. There's a coffeeshop opposite the apartment. Be careful leaving the apartment, there's bikes coming at you from both sides. Dont trip on cobbles as you leave, you may end up in the coffeeshop! I am looking forward to my next stay already. "

No sign or something else did show the way." - "I booked Mr. Lewis Boutique Hotel Overveen because it stated „laundry facilities“ under „family friendly“ and I expected a facility to do laundry easily during our 3-week travel period. Unfortunately, there was no laundry facility. I was helped to find alternatives which I appreciated but I didn‘t get what I had expected based on the description. The App system for opening the door worked well and like a key card, however it is a little inconvenient if you need a specific phone to have battery at the end of the day every day in order to access the property. Maybe, once opened on the first night an actual room key could be stored in the room? The day we arrived at 10 p.m. the hugging sheet on the mattress was missing on the bed and as there is no reception I had to figure out a hygienic solution for the first night myself after talking to the contact. Overall, safe area, walkable to Overveen station (25 min. train ride to Amsterdam), cleanliness good, but shower was constructed poorly so that bathroom flooded daily. Floor towel, which I’m used to in hotels, was missing. Luckily, the staff stored the mop right in front if our room, therefore we just mopped up the excess water. Also little shelf-space in bathroom. The staircase was narrow and steep. Getting suitcases up was tricky. This hotel was unfortunately not the right fit for our needs because I thought I had found the perfect combination of hotel (providing great bedding and working bathroom) and a DIY laundry facility. Getting to and around Haarlem by public transport is quite convenient. Schiphol Airport is well connected by train and will take you about 30 minutes. The capital city of Amsterdam and Zandvoort beach are both only 15 minutes away. We will share a handy website to plan your route.

By car the airport is about 20 minutes and Amsterdam 20 to 30 depending on your exact destination.

- "WOW!! I can not say enough about how great this property is. Location is perfect, walkable to countless eateries and shops and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Many have mentioned the stairs, yes, there are many steps so beware of the weight of the luggage you bring and just go slow, but honestly, I would say it is part of the charm. We did not cook at the apartment, but it seemed to be very well stocked if you wanted to. Beds were very comfy. Would certainly stay again if ever in the area!"

The apartment is located at walking distance from the beautiful Centre of Haarlem and consists of a spacious living with an extra single bed, separate private kitchen, with necessary equipment, TV and free WIFI. Spacious bathroom with rain-shower, bathtub and double sink.
Bedsheets, towels, soap and shampoo are available.
Use of electric-bicycles is included. Smoking and pets (unfortunately..) are forbidden.

- "Lovely property and great owners. The location is great for exploring Haarlem on foot and for getting trains to other nearby places. We did Amsterdam and The Hague. There are electric bikes too. We aren’t cyclists but the bikes looked impressive and there were maps etc for touring around. Also, some breakfast items were provided along with fruit which meant we didn’t need to go out shopping which was a nice touch. The beds are very comfortable and the place is spotlessly clean."

We loved being in the middle of everything, watching the hustle and bustle of the city from our windows. The apartment was clean, smelled great, and had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay!" - "We had a wonderful stay in Harlem at City Attic. It is a loft apartment that was in a perfect spot above a cafe. It is basically a two bedroom with stairs up to the second bedroom loft. There are tons of cafes around and is very close to the city square. Harlem is an adorable town with lots of energy and great restaurants, bakeries, a weekly market and shops. Plus it is very close to Amsterdam. Paul and his lovely wife, Priscilla, have made this apartment impeccable, cozy and lovingly decorated with her artwork. It had a very nice kitchen, air conditioning and comfortable beds. Also there is a bathroom up in the loft area which was super convenient. There is a small patio which was perfect for an evening with wine and a cheese board. In addition Paul was always available and is clearly wanting his guests to be completely happy. He did several wonderful things for us. One of our guests fell and hurt her leg and he offered to take us to the Dr. We didn't end up needing those services but I thought it was amazing that he offered his help. To me this was a great spot and a great host. My only suggestion is to add an upstairs shelf for guests to unpack their folded clothes. There is a nice size hanging rack which is nice. We would definitely stay here again!"
