- "Just a very nice appartment for the price. Good clean." - "This apartment was probably very nice at one point. The walls are very beat up, the carpet is disgusting, and who ever cleans it, does the bare minimum. There were little hairs all over the place and the closet was full of dust. The baseboards have not been cleaned in a very long time. If you are tall I would not recommend the penthouse apartment, there are many low points in the ceiling where you will hit your head. The area and town were nice, and it was easy to take the bus to the train station. Also want to note, that they ask you to sweep the floor before you leave. They didn’t leave us a broom, just a vacuum that barely sucked anything up. Makes me wonder if they will clean the floor at all after us. "

- "The Hotel was not easy to find. No sign or something else did show the way." - "I booked Mr. Lewis Boutique Hotel Overveen because it stated „laundry facilities“ under „family friendly“ and I expected a facility to do laundry easily during our 3-week travel period. Unfortunately, there was no laundry facility. I was helped to find alternatives which I appreciated but I didn‘t get what I had expected based on the description. The App system for opening the door worked well and like a key card, however it is a little inconvenient if you need a specific phone to have battery at the end of the day every day in order to access the property. Maybe, once opened on the first night an actual room key could be stored in the room? The day we arrived at 10 p.m. the hugging sheet on the mattress was missing on the bed and as there is no reception I had to figure out a hygienic solution for the first night myself after talking to the contact. Overall, safe area, walkable to Overveen station (25 min. train ride to Amsterdam), cleanliness good, but shower was constructed poorly so that bathroom flooded daily. Floor towel, which I’m used to in hotels, was missing. Luckily, the staff stored the mop right in front if our room, therefore we just mopped up the excess water. Also little shelf-space in bathroom. The staircase was narrow and steep. Getting suitcases up was tricky. This hotel was unfortunately not the right fit for our needs because I thought I had found the perfect combination of hotel (providing great bedding and working bathroom) and a DIY laundry facility. - "It was a joy to stay at this apartment. It’s location is excellent. Two minutes from the train station, with 4 trains per hour to Haarlem and 2 trains per hour to Amsterdam. It’s also an easy short walk into center town with it’s cute stores and restaurants. The apartment has a small balcony with breakfast table from which we enjoyed seeing the ocean and watching people strolling the boardwalk. The apartment has high quality finishes and is comfortable, we found everything we needed. The bathroom is large for Dutch standards. The kitchen has new pots and pans and we appreciated the sharp set of knives and new cutting boards. Wi-Fi worked fine. The landlord lives in the apartment underneath and was very kind, helping with luggage and very responsive to questions. We had a great stay in this place. The only things to note are the steep stairs (1 flight) and there’s no door between the living room and the bedroom."

When you enter the apartment you will find the bedroom with comfortable king-size bed on your left side. The bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet is located at your right side. The living room with open kitchen, large dining table and relaxed seating area is very bright and spacious. On the balcony you can enjoy the sunrise, sunset and everything in between on the wonderfully comfortable lounge set. In short, the perfect place for a vacation!
