- "Rooms very clean " - "Great place for the dog. Plenty of room and friendly staff. " - "Small rural town but several good places to eat, staff recommended some. Chose this town on visit to see the famous mounds because of low crime rates compared to many other towns in the region, perhaps it is because Henderson town has a religious college. Room was quite clean, though maybe some chipped paint, a little carpet fraying, worn edges on some furniture. Heat pump worked perfect, with digital controls. Pictures of lobby and rooms are accurate. Pool was drained as it was not yet open for the season. Staff said it is a very popular attraction in the summer. Breakfast included hot items, eggs sausage and biscuits, and OJ and milk in jugs in a fridge rather than out of a electric dispenser. I like the jugs here better. Waffles are in the freezer and there's a toaster. There are some old bad reviews from a group many years ago who was here at a conference and left a ridiculously huge amount of cash in a room which then went missing. Obviously the person who did that faced justice. But more important, the owners went out and bought programmable safes for every room so that such a thing can not happen again. I recommend this place. The main negative was you can hear people in the room above walking around which woke me a few times. "

Great two story home on a 500 acre lake. Located in West Tennessee in a private subdivision 7 miles from the town of Lexington. Home sits on a 1.5 acre lot with 200 feet of lake front property. Home is 2500 square feet with 3 bedrooms , 2 full bathrooms , living room open to kitchen with large gas fireplace , sun room , large outside deck ( 20 x 40 ) on second story overlooking lake. Sun room extends the entire length of the back of the house upstairs for a beautiful view of the lake. Relax with a cold drink and watch the sunset from dock over the lake. Home is conveniently located halfway between Memphis and Nashville (about 1.5 hours from each). The house is perfect for special events such as weddings , receptions , graduations , and family reunions .Or just come out for the weekend with that special someone and spend some quality time together. Bring the family pet , they are welcome too! Guests will have access to a private boat launch about 100 yards from the house. Bring your boat and Seadoo's and tie them off on our private dock. Pool table , foosball table , and quoits (ring toss) are available. Large gas barbeque is also available. Fish for bass , catfish , and crappie from boat or right off the dock. Bring your own favorite lucky rod and reel . I will not be present at the house for any of my guest's stay. Guests will have complete privacy and run of the property. I do , however, have a caretaker that lives
just down the street. Her name is April , and she is usually available if there are any questions or concerns. She will not interact with guests unless called upon. Neighbors are friendly and have that down home southern hospitality. Feel free to take an early morning jog or walk around the subdivision. Tell them you are staying at John's Country Lake Home !! In Lexington which is about 7 miles away , there is a Super Walmart where guests can pick up most anything that they need. We also have all the typical fast food restaurants and some family establishments. Amenities include spacious master bedroom with a giant California king size bed and full master bath.Other bedroom is also equipped with king size bed . 3rd bedroom has twin over full bunk bed with a twin pull out trundle bed . We also have 2 queen size futons available. Separate laundry room facility. Sun room upstairs has great views of lake as well as outside deck area. Activities include boating and fishing , shooting pool , playing foosball , and playing quoits. Barbeque some steaks on the grill or simply relax and watch the a movie from our 250 plus movie library.Visit nearby Memphis and party on Beal Street or visit Graceland. - "This little house was wonderfully remodeled. Very clean and modern. And the kitchen was VERY well stocked, with plenty of utensils, cookware, and even a supply of some food in the cabinets and fridge! Bed was comfy and the big bathroom was super nice. I only have 2 small complaints: 1) All the closets were locked, so there was no place to hang our clothes. And 2) there were no blinds on the front door or the large back patio doors, so you can literally see straight through the house from the street (or the neighbors' yards in the back). And the blinds that are on the windows are some type of reed blinds that offer minimal privacy at night and allow a LOT of light during the day. But all in all a very nice little house and a perfect location for what we needed. I'd stay here again!"

In short, The Cottage allows our guests the opportunity to rest, relax, and participate in activities that they would otherwise never experience. At the farm, surrounded by hundreds of acres of agriculture and virgin woodland, our guests can learn about gardening, livestock, animal husbandry, crop harvesting, or any number of activities going on at the farm during their stay.

Horns and sirens, traffic and commerce are a rarity around here. Instead, guests will be bathed in the comfort sounds of the country—a donkey’s bray, a dog’s bark, a horse’s whinny, and, on occasion, our sheep’s graceful, signature baas.

Butterfly gardens, in full bloom most of the year, are just off the outdoor lounging area, so guests can expect a visit from the local hummingbirds (in season), graceful butterflies, and bumbling bees on the hunt for a load of pollen. Songbirds, deer, and turkey inhabit the woods and meadows all around. A good book and a cup of hot tea will round out a most enjoyable farm experience.

We are located right on the 199 hwy so there is a fair amount of traffic noise in the morning and evening,if you are from the city it will probably seem quiet but if you are used to quiet locations there is some traffic noise.

Actually going home from a vacation without a huge trash bag full of dirty stuff. Anytime I asked the host about things to do/places to eat in the area, she was prompt to respond with some very good recommendations. If you love a little local place, the Amish store, less than 6 miles away (Ada's), I found to be quite a delight. Great place to grab all kinds of bulk food items/full deli case/home baked breads and we even got hot breakfast sandwiches there one morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if we were travelling in this area."

This tiny house is secluded on our small working farm. We have almost a mile of easy/moderate walking trails. We are about 15 minutes from town and Freed Hardeman University, about 30 minutes from Chickasaw State Park and Pinson Mounds. We are about 2 minutes from K & M shooting complex.

We have farm dogs that you will occasionally hear bark. Ziva, our Great Pyrenees may come and say hi but she is very friendly
