Situated on 20 acres, this cabin reflects our love of horses! The huge windows, long porches and deck, creates a stunning setting to enjoy your vacation. Grill and dine out on the back deck which overlooks the wooded hillside. Relax and enjoy the spacious, private hot tub.

Dappled Grey is newly built with an old world charm! With terracotta tile floors, knotty pine walls, 9ft tall ceilings, and long, shady porches with potted plants, this spacious cabin is one of a kind. Huge windows and sliding glass doors are set throughout the entire house, making it airy and bright. The lighting is absolutely magical, with the vista of the woods in all its seasonal colors filling the cabin with a sense of peace and serenity. We also have one other cabin, Larkspur, 200 feet from Dappled Grey.

You have the whole cabin to yourself and the immediate parking area just outside the cabin. We are in the process of landscaping a lovely garden and yard next to Dappled Grey for you to enjoy. Feel free to watch the riding lessons (or book one!). If you'd like a short hike, follow the gravel road on our 20 acres, which goes by other cabins and follows the ridge-line. This turns into a path in the woods and joins the gravel road (this is a full loop around the property open to all our guests).

Greg and I live in the red house on the property, right next door to Dappled Grey. We travel a great deal, but if we are home we are always happy for a chat if you are so inclined.

We are located in a country neighborhood just outside of Stanton, KY. 15 minutes away from Natural Bridge State Park and the heart of Red River Gorge. Take Mountain Parkway to the Slade exit, and access to miles of hiking trails and climbing walls. Attractions include Gorge Underground, minigolf, the Nada Tunnel, Glady Visitor Center, the Kentucky Reptile Zoo (with almost 2000 species of reptiles!) Zip lines and many more exciting things to do. While we are set in the country, we are very close to Stanton (just 5 min drive), with access to shopping, restaurants and other amenities. Our driveway is a long gravel drive up a hill. All cars can make it, except in extremely icy weather. There is ample parking right in front of Dappled Grey. If at all possible please park UNDER the covered carport. If your vehicle doesn't fit, please park directly in front of the car port, as we sometimes need access to our property on the drive next to the carport.

We are 5 minutes from Kroger, and restaurants.

Pets are welcome. Bring a crate to keep your pet contained at night. We do not allow pets on the beds!

Please bring charcoal and lighter if you plan to use the grill.

We do not provide wood for the campfire, but you are more than welcome to gather it from our woods around!

- "This cabin was perfect for our weekend of hiking in Red River Gorge. The hot tub was a great way to relax after our hikes. Beds were comfortable, cabin was spacious and air conditioning was cool. The kitchen was very well stocked with all of the necessary pots, pans and utensils. The property management team was quick to respond to any questions and pre-arrival communication was top notch. My only complaint is that they need towel hooks in the bathroom and maybe some curtains on the windows in the main area of the house. Would absolutely stay here again."

Modern 3 bedroom 2 bath on 11.5 acres roughly 20 miles from Red River Gorge. Entire house has been renovated. Starlink Internet, and Electric Fireplace. Smart TVs in all bedrooms/living room, Pinball Machine, and ceiling fans in all bedrooms/living room. Fire-pit area with porch swing, chairs, bench for food, picnic table and string lights for entertaining. The house sits on 11.5 acres, guests are welcome to walk the property. Large wrap around driveway for easy arrival and departure.

Found out upon check in that needed quarters for pinball machine (50 cents per play) and there is a charge to use wood from pile. Wish we would have brought more quarters (only had $1.50 worth on us). Kids had never done pinball and were quite enthralled with the three plays we had quarters for. Distance to the Red River Gorge area was more than we would liked (about an hour to the northeast corner trails. And road to the home is up a windy mountain hill. But those are small complaints for what was a good stay for us. Would stay again!"
