The Delta Blues Museum was established in 1979. This internationally acclaimed museum showcases the history and significance of the Blues in this region. It features a wax figure of Blues great Muddy Waters and the famous Muddywood Guitar, videotape and slide-and-sound programs, photographs, recordings, books, memorabilia, archives, and much more. Stovall Plantation was the original home of the Muddy Waters Cabin, which is now located in its new home at the renovated Freight Depot on Blues Alley.

Clarksdale is the childhood home of America’s most performed playwright, Tom “Tennessee” Williams. Young Tom’s grandfather served as rector of St. George’s Episcopal Church and lived in the parsonage. The church and parsonage are still active today.

Another interesting site in the area is Hopson Plantation. The Hopson Planting Company was established in 1852 to grow cotton, the Delta's cash crop. The 4,000-acre property reached its

Keurig coffee maker and dorm fridge. Sofa isn’t the most comfy but it works. Highly recommend Abe’s, Bad Apple, Hambones, Ground Zero, Reds, and Chris directly across the street cooks everyday and has an impressive vintage toy collection. Go out of your way and eat at Ramon’s. Mike and Raymond are homeless men that live in the area. They are harmless if you have a few bucks pay it forward. Hannah met us promptly and explained everything. 5/5"

Your accommodations will be the entire upstairs of a lovely southern late 1800's home on the Sunflower River. There is a private outside entrance by stairs up to the 2nd floor deck where you enter your upstairs apartment. There are 2 bedrooms which share a bath with a jacuzzi tub/shower. One bedroom is filled with lovely Victorian antiques which includes a queen antique four poster bed. There is a sitting area in this room with two comfy chairs, a loveseat and a 65"TV . There is also a lovely desk area. As well as a twin pull out trundle under the queen bed.
The second room of the apartment is a combination living room and king bed room with 65" smart tv.. It has a large sectional and comfy chair as well as a wonderfully comfortable King sized bed. There is a twin air mattresson a frame for additional guest .The crib mentioned is actually a pack and play and can be set up if needed. Both rooms have YouTube TV , prime video and Netflix and Internet access with free wifi. There is also a kitchen with sink, microwave, glass top electric stove, fridge, coffee, coffee pot, blender and toaster . There is an iron and ironing board in the closet withthe aur mattress . . There are desks in both bedrooms. Beautiful views and very private, you are only one mile from the blues mecca of downtown Clarksdale and only 4 minutes by car to Hopson Commissary and Shack Up Inn area..
This is a sister property to the"Sunflower Cottage on the River" and it is right next door if you need room for more guests. There is also The Sunflower Suite on the River” downstairs if you need more space.
Guest access:
Guests have access to the entire upstairs , 2 bedroom ,1 bath suite with kitchen , as well as the upstairs deck overlooking the Sunflower riverbank. The top deck has a comfortable outside sectional, a round dining table with 4 swivel chairs, a firepit and a fountain. The lower deck has a pair of chairs for just relaxing.

Walks along the riverbank to see wildlife and enjoy nature are a plus.. The entire grounds behind both the Sunflower Penthouse and the Sunflower Cottage as well as the area over to the old barns is available to roam and discover. Or you might like to take a walk back up the lane and go discovering along the turnrows of the cotton field . Check out the old log cabin right across the road. It was moved from my great,great grandparents old family farm in South Mississippi.

Upon arrival to your accommodations, you should pull down to the garage end of the house for the stairs up to your apartment. There is a cargo lift available right there for your luggage stairs available for you, and loads of parking across from the house. There is a gas grill for a cookout right by the stairs , with a gas fire pit upstairs on main deck and a kitchen just steps away inside the suite.
You can get a great view of a full moon at night when you are outside enjoying the deck.

The bedroom has a electric fireplace, a coffee bar with mini fridge and microwave induction hot plate toaster oven / air flyer with pots and pans . There is a lock box on the door. Your entrance is around the right side of the house, up a few steps to the back deck . The French door,which is your entrance to the house ,has a lock box next to it with the key. You will be entering your apartment through the sunroom.

The space
The cottage is a old shotgun tenant house with pecky cypress walls. It has one comfy king size bed and a plug in eazi- bed air mattress or the sofa. It also was a tiny bedroom with a twin trundle bed with a pop up twin mattress underneath too.. So the cottage will sleep 5 (it will be very cozy. :)) There is a dining/deck area and a 65”TV with you tube live,Netflix, and prime video, DVD player and a full kitchen. One bath with a large shower and lighted makeup mirror. There is a small closet in the back of the cottage with hanging space and luggage rack for suitcases.iron and ironing board are in this area ..cottage is pet friendly.. Need more space? After contacting the owner, she moved us into the location next door. When we got to the new location, the key lockbox was left hanging open, the door looked as though the deadbolt had been broken through the door frame at some point, the toilet seat was broken and there was blood (as if from someone else being on their period while being there and not cleaning it up) on the toilet and bathroom which I cleaned up myself so that we could use it. The dishware was dirty and there was a bowl of sugar with a spoon in it on the counter, used and unclean. Some of the towels in the bathroom had a bad odor to them. We left the place cleaner than we found it, but I refuse to clean up the mess we did not create. And I refuse to take a 4 star review from Libby after doing more than what I should have had to do in order to stat at this location. "

Clarksdale Mississippi is truly a special place. My first trip was back in 2010 and it was instant love. Throughout the years ended up coming back 2 to 4 times a year (yes the Clarksdale vortex is REAL!) and almost on a whim and poorly thought out bet from a good friend I purchased this home. It was dilapidated and hadn't been lived in for over 12 years. The hard work began and almost a year later (may 2022) we opened the doors to what you will experience in this stunning home.
The space is epic and can sleep 18 comfortably. Grand foyer that leads into a parlor to the left and a sitting room to the right. A massive dinning room table that can comfortably sit 20 and a extremely large kitchen to accommodate the respective cooking arrangements for a large group (we even have a local catering option and you skip the cooking) As you look up before you start walking up the grand staircase you will see the stained glass windows. Upstairs you will find 6 bedrooms, 3 of them with built in full bathrooms, extremely large bedrooms all with large ceiling fans. A newly installed 4 industrial grade HVAC systems to keep you cool during the summers. - "Great option! Wish realized not Adam compliant, I use a rollaid to walk,tough getting in out " - "My family and I felt unsafe in the location of our Vrbo. The area seemed unsafe. My husband also had issues with the home's cosmetics, such as a rusted vent and a light bulb out in the hallway. Some things were not secured as well as they could have been, for instance, the mirror on the door and the vanity above the toilet. More hangers could have been placed in the closet areas. One of the bedrooms had no closet space and no television. The bunk bed was also too close to the ceiling fan. We were not able to use the washer. We did try to follow the instructions for it. We didn't have any issues with our host. She was pleasant and helpful."
